Abstract
A positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to one embodiment of the present invention contains Ca, Sr, Pa, and a lithium transition metal composite oxide that contains 65 mol% or more of Ni and assumes the form of secondary particles formed by aggregation of primary particles. The ratio ICa_OUT / ICa_IN of the normalized intensity ICa_OUT of Ca on the surface of the secondary particles to the normalized intensity ICa_IN of Ca inside the secondary particles is 2 to 7, the ratio ISr_OUT / ISr_IN of the normalized intensity ISr_IN of Sr on the surface of the secondary particles to the normalized intensity ISr_IN of Sr inside the secondary particles is 2 to 7, and the Gini coefficient of PO3- inside the secondary particles is 0.6 or less.
