Description

[0001] A CALCULATION DEVICE FOR A STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE GAME

[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD

[0003] The invention relates to a calculation device that automates the scoring process during the playing of a strategic intelligence game.

[0004] PRIOR ART

[0005] Strategic intelligence games are games played within a specific set of rules that enhance the players’ thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills. These types of games are generally based on reaching a specific goal or defeating opponents through strategic moves. Strategic intelligence games increase competition among players while also improving their decision-making and analytical abilities. These games enable individuals to both have fun and improve their mental skills, and they appeal to a wide range of age groups.

[0006] It is evident that strategic intelligence games are an important educational and entertaining tool that enables players to both have fun and improve their thinking skills. These games require players to use abilities such as attention, patience, and analytical thinking, while also allowing them to compete within a specific set of rules. However, the correct implementation of scoring and rules, which is one of the most important elements of such games, plays a critical role in ensuring that the game proceeds in a fair and enjoyable manner. Ensuring that the moves made by the players are evaluated correctly is a factor that directly affects the gaming experience.

[0007] In this context, one of the biggest challenges in the gameplay process of strategic intelligence games is the manual execution of score calculation and rule compliance control procedures. However, the evaluation of the moves made by the players and the manual execution of the scoring process in strategic intelligence games may cause various difficulties during the game. In scoring processes, players must correctly follow the rules, and this may occasionally lead to misunderstandings or calculation errors. Especially in games involving a large number of players, manually calculating the score of each move may slow down the game flow and cause disagreements between players. Moreover, this process may reduce the enjoyment of the game and negatively affect the players focus on strategy development and deriving enjoyment from the game.

[0008] Another difficulty encountered in manual score calculation is the inspection of compliance with the game rules. Determining whether players have made moves that violate the rules and assigning appropriate penalty points requires attention and time in manual processes. This situation may disrupt the flow of the game by causing unnecessary time loss during the game. Especially the fact that strategic intelligence games involve complex rules increases the likelihood of errors in manual calculations. This may not only create tension between players but also negatively affect the game experience.

[0009] As a result, the difficulties of manual score calculation processes in strategic intelligence games both slow down the game flow and reduce the enjoyment that players derive from the game. In order to overcome such difficulties and to make the game experience more enjoyable, there is a significant need for technical solutions that automate the scoring processes.

[0010] As a result, all the above-mentioned problems have made it imperative to make an innovation in the relevant technical field.

[0011] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0012] The present invention relates to a calculation device for eliminating the above- mentioned disadvantages and bringing the new advantages to the relevant technical field.

[0013] An object of the invention is to provide a calculation device that eliminates human error by automating the scoring processes in strategic intelligence games and offers a fair gaming experience to the players.

[0014] In order to achieve all the purposes mentioned above and that will emerge from the detailed description below, the present invention is related to a calculation device that enables the automatic calculation of the score obtained by players in a strategic intelligence game comprising the steps of: i- at the beginning of the game, each player drawing a specific number (5 pieces) of number tokens from a token bag and placing them on a token board, ii- players taking turns to draw at least one number card and creating a number using the number tokens on the token board that has a common multiple of 1 with the number written on the said number card, iii- the first player placing the number they have created on the starting point defined at the center of the game board, iv- the subsequent players placing the numbers they have created in such a way that they are connected to the previously placed numbers on the game board, v- determining that each player who is able to place a number receives a positive score, vi- determining that a player receives a negative score if it is detected that the number created by the player does not have a common multiple of 1 with the drawn number card, vii- determining that players who can’t find a number having a common multiple of 1 with the drawn numbers receive a negative score equal to the total of the numbers on the token board, viii- repeating steps i-vii until all number tokens are exhausted. Accordingly, it comprises a sound receiving unit that operates when a switching element is in a first position and stops when it is in a second position, a converter that enables the sound data received from the sound unit to be converted into a digital numerical value, a processor unit that enables the calculation of a score output by applying the number obtained via the converter to a mathematical equation, a screen for displaying the said score output to the players.

[0015] A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that it comprises a memory unit for storing the number obtained via the converter.

[0016] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0017] Fig. 1 is a drawing illustrating view operating scenario of the calculation device.

[0018] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION In this detailed description, the subject of the invention is explained by way of example only for a better understanding of the subject, which shall not create any limiting effect.

[0019] The invention relates to a calculation device (10) that automates the scoring process during the playing of a strategic intelligence game. The calculation device (10) improves the game experience. The game enables players to accumulate the highest score by using number tokens on a token board within the framework of specific mathematical rules.

[0020] Referring to Figure 1 , the calculation device (10) comprises a sound receiving unit (11 ) that operates when a switching element is in a first position and shuts off when it is in a second position. As the switching element described herein, a button, a switch, a touch key, etc. is preferably used. As the sound receiving unit (11 ), a microphone, etc. is preferably used. The calculation device (10) comprises a converter (13) that enables the sound data received from the sound receiving unit (11) to be converted into a digital numerical value. In a possible embodiment of the invention, an analog-digital converter (13) is preferably used as the converter (13). The calculation device (10) comprises a processor unit (12) that enables the score output to be calculated by applying the numerical value obtained via the said converter to a mathematical equation. The mathematical equation described herein includes an addition operation. Negative scores are evaluated as minus, while positive scores are evaluated as plus. In a possible embodiment of the invention, a microcontroller, a CPU, a GPU, etc. is preferably used as the processor unit (12). The calculation device (10) comprises a screen (15) for displaying the score output generated via the processor unit (12) to the players. In a possible embodiment of the invention, the screen (15) may be a touch screen (15). The calculation device (10) comprises a battery for storing energy. There is a memory unit (14) in which the scores associated with the processor unit are recorded for later use. As the memory unit (14), a RAM, a ROM, an SSD, flash memory, etc. may be used. In a possible embodiment of the invention, the calculation device (10) may be provided for each player. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, a single calculation device (10) is provided. In this case, the turn and the score of the player are vocally stated. Thus, with a single calculation device (10), an address is assigned to the player defined in the memory unit (14), and the player and score information received from the sound receiving unit (11) is stored by being processed at this address.

[0021] The strategic intelligence game comprises a game board, a token bag, 4 token boards, 20 number cards, and 60 number tokens. The game board is provided in a grid layout for the placement of number tokens in accordance with specific rules during the game. The game board has a size of 11x11 cells. The token bag contains multiple number tokens with different score values and is used by players to draw number tokens. The token boards are individual platforms on which each player can temporarily place up to five number tokens. The number cards are cards, each bearing a number, and randomly selected according to the rules of the game to determine a numerical target. The number tokens represent different numerical values, and each value is associated with scores in accordance with the strategic mechanics of the game.

[0022] The game starts with each player drawing 5 number tokens from the token bag and placing these tokens on their own token board. The game order is determined based on the cards drawn in turn by the players from the number cards placed in the center. The player who draws the highest number starts first. Players take turns drawing a number card and creating a number that has a common multiple of 1 with the number written on the card. For example, when a player draws a card containing the number “6”, they can form a number using the “5” number token on the token board, because 6 and 5 have no common factor other than 1 . The number created by the player is placed on the game board. For the player who earns a positive score as a result of this placement, the switching element on the calculation device (10) is pressed, the score type and score are spoken aloud. For example, for a player who has made a correct placement, the switching element on the calculation device (10) is pressed, and the phrase “first player +10 points” is spoken aloud. Thus, 10 points are added to the first player. The performed mathematical operation is displayed on the screen (15).

[0023] The first move of the first player starts from the starting point defined at the center of the game board, and the subsequent players place the numbers they create in a way that is connected to the numbers previously placed. Another rule of the game is that if a player fails to obtain a number that has a common multiple of 1 with the number on the card, the player receives a negative score and is excluded from the game in the next round. Similarly, in the case that the number tokens in the token bag are depleted and the players can’t create a number using the tokens in their possession, they receive a negative score equal to the total of the remaining numbers on the token board. Such penalty procedures ensure that the game progresses in a fair manner.

[0024] At the end of the game, the player who accumulates the highest score is determined as the winner. If two or more players have equal scores, the player with the fewest remaining tokens on the token board is declared the winner. Such tie situations and the winning player are displayed to the user on the screen (15) of the calculation device (10). The data is temporarily recorded in the memory unit (14) for later use.

[0025] By means of the calculation device (10), the scoring processes are carried out in a more accurate, faster, and impartial manner. The calculation device (10), which detects the numbers created by the players on the token board through sound, converts them into numerical values, and evaluates these values according to the rules, eliminates all the difficulties of the manual scoring process. Thus, it enables strategic intelligence games to fulfill their fundamental functions such as education, analytical thinking, and promoting a sense of competition more effectively.

[0026] The scope of protection of the invention is specified in the appended claims and cannot be limited to what is described for illustrative purposes in this detailed description. It is clear that a person skilled in the art can produce similar embodiments in the light of what is explained above, without deviating from the main theme of the invention.
