Abstract
In an elevator system (1) with an elevator control system (12) having a destination call control system, a car operating panel (20) is arranged in the elevator car (10) and communicatively coupled to the elevator control system (12). The car operating panel (20) includes a passenger interface unit (22) and a credential detector (6). The car operating panel (20) activates the passenger interface unit (22) in response to a credential presented by the passenger (8) to the credential detector (6) that identifies the passenger (8) as an authorized passenger (8). The activated passenger interface unit (22) allows the authorized passenger (8) to enter a destination. The elevator control system (12) controls the elevator car (10) according to the destination entered by the authorized passenger (8) at the passenger interface unit (22) of the car operating panel (20).
