Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a system for quantifying the microplastics content in a sample of biomass or derived from biomass or an amended surface deposit. The method implements a step of heating the sample under an inert atmosphere, with continuous measurement of at least one quantity of hydrocarbon compounds. A Gaussian deconvolution is applied and at least a content of said type of microplastics present in the sample is determined on the basis of the curve of the evolution of hydrocarbon released by the sample when the sample is heated, and on the basis of a Gaussian surface determined for said type of microplastics.
