[0006] The present invention belongs to the technical field of robots for use in surgical, microsurgical or super-microsurgical procedures.
[0007] In particular, the present invention relates to a robot arm, in particular a Patient Side Unit (PSU) arm, for use in surgery, microsurgery or super-microsurgery, and a robotic system including the same.

[0020] Robots for use in surgical, microsurgical or super-microsurgical procedures are known in the art.
[0021] In particular, one known approach involves the use of laparoscopic systems.

An extra degree of freedom is included to actuate a 1-DOF instrument tip.
