Abstract

Provided is an electrophotography member that makes it possible to achieve high image gloss and favorable image quality while improving the wear resistance of a surface layer with respect to sheets of paper. An electrophotography member according to the present invention has a base layer and a surface layer. The surface layer includes a methylpentene polymer. Claims

1. An electrophotographic component having at least a base layer and a surface layer, wherein the surface layer contains a methylpentene polymer, and a sample taken from the surface layer is used as the measurement sample to perform calorimetry using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) by sequentially performing the following steps (1) to (4): Step (1): A first heating step in which the measurement sample is heated from 25°C to 270°C at a heating rate of 20°C / min; Step (2): A first cooling step in which the measurement sample heated to 270°C in step (1) is cooled to 25°C at a cooling rate of 20°C / min; Step (3): A second heating step in which the measurement sample, which was heated to 25°C in step (2), is heated to 270°C at a heating rate of 20°C / min; Step (4): A second cooling step in which the measurement sample heated to 270°C in step (3) is cooled to 25°C at a cooling rate of 20°C / min; An electrophotographic component characterized in that the first DSC heating curve obtained in step (1) is represented by curve A, which shows the relationship between heat flow [W / g] per unit weight and time, two points, the time at 160°C and the time at 250°C, are connected by a straight line, this straight line is used as the baseline, and when curve A is further corrected by the baseline to obtain curve B, the amount of heat absorbed by the measured sample corresponding to the area value of the region enclosed by curve B and the baseline is 24 J / g or more.

10. The electrophotographic member according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the electrophotographic member is a fixing belt.

A fixing apparatus for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the fixing apparatus comprising a fixing member and a pressurizing member disposed opposite to the fixing member, wherein at least one of the fixing member and the pressurizing member is an electrophotographic member according to any one of claims 1 to 8.

12. An electrophotographic image forming apparatus comprising a fixing device, wherein the fixing device comprises a fixing member and a pressurizing member disposed opposite to the fixing member, and at least one of the fixing member and the pressurizing member is an electrophotographic member according to any one of claims 1 to 8.
