Flow control valve and valve assembly for providing fuel to a prime mover
The flow control valve addresses the inefficiencies in existing systems by utilizing a plunger biased by spring and fuel pressure, reducing actuator force and power consumption, resulting in a more efficient and compact fuel flow control system for prime movers.

Abstract
A flow control valve for gaseous fuel is provided that includes a valve assembly in a passage of a valve body. The valve assembly includes a plunger and a valve seat with a fuel flow path to provide gaseous fuel flow when the valve assembly is open. The plunger is coupled to a spring and to an actuator. The spring and gaseous fuel pressure in the valve body bias the plunger into sealing engagement with the valve seat. The actuator is operable to longitudinally move the plunger in the valve body against the bias of the spring and the gaseous fuel pressure to open the fuel flow path through valve seat.
