[0002] Lat-pull down exercises are designed to primarily target and strengthen the latissimus dorsi (lats), which are the large muscles of the back, as well as other upper body muscles such as the biceps, trapezius, and deltoids. Existing lat-pull down machines, while effective for isolating specific muscles, have certain drawbacks that hinder their ability to accommodate users of various body types, promote functional strength, and optimize biomechanics.

[0005] There is a need for an innovative solution that addresses the aforementioned drawbacks and limitations associated with the conventional lat-pull down machines, by providing an apparatus for facilitating lat-pull down and hip rotation exercises targeting upper body, particularly latissimus dorsi and other upper back muscles.
[0006] It is an objective of the present invention to provide an apparatus that enables a user to perform a combined lat-pull down and hip rotation movement in a seamless and integrated manner.

[0012] According to an embodiment, the present invention pertains to an apparatus configured to facilitate lat pull down and hip rotation exercises. The apparatus includes a base frame that can be positioned on a ground surface, and a bench configured over the base frame. The bench is configured to allow a user to sit thereon while performing exercises and place their foot on a footrest configured in front of the bench. The apparatusincludes a pair of stabilizing pads attached below the bench via one or more connecting members. The pair of stabilizing pads may be configured to secure thighs in place to stabilize the legs of the user and prevent unwanted movement during the hip rotation exercise.

In a preferred embodiment, the stabilizing pads 114 can be of rectangular shape configured longitudinally, wherein each of the pair of stabilizing pads 114 can be parallel to each other. Further, spacing between the pair of stabilizing pads 114 can be adjusted to accommodateusers of different leg sizes and shapes, ensuring a personalized and comfortable fit. This adjustability allows the stabilizing pads 114 to align properly with the user's thighs, providing optimal support and stability during the exercise. The cushioning material can also absorb impacts and vibrations, thereby minimizing stress onhands and wrists of the users. The cushioning material can be selected from but not limited to Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) Foam, Polyurethane Foam, Natural Rubber, Synthetic Rubber, microfiber, and the like.

The pivotally moving member includes a lock having a retractable pin configured to lock the pivotally moving member in different angular positions by engagingwith a selected hole among the plurality holes of the selector plate. The angularly moving part includes a stopper (not shown), which is located in the same plane as the pivotally moving member such that, during the rotation of the bench 104, the stopper engages with the pivotally moving member to block further rotation of the bench 104 beyond the selected position.
[0037] Further, the apparatus 100 can include a first weight stack 116 connected to the set of handles 112 via a cable and pulley system. The first weight stack 116 can be configured to provide adjustable resistance while performing the lat-pull down exercise. Further, the apparatus 100 can include a second weight stack 118 connected to the bench 104 via the cable and pulley system. The second weight stack 118 can be configured to provide additional resistance required while performing the hip rotation exercise. In an embodiment, the first and second weight stacks 116, 118 can be made from durable materials such as steel or heavy-duty plastic, without limitations. Steel offers strength and stability, while plastic or composite materials can provide a lighter, corrosion-resistant option. In one embodiment, each of the first and second weight stacks 116, 118 can include a plurality of weight plates, and a guide rod to facilitate up and down movement of the weight plates without tilting or wobbling. The weight plates can be stacked vertically and can have a central hole that slides onto the guiding rod. This allows the weight plates to move up and down as the resistance is adjusted. The guide rod can be a cylindrical shaft that can run parallel to the weight stack and allow the weight plates to slide up and down smoothly. The guide rod can be made from metal and can be designed to be durable and resistant to bending or warping. In some embodiments, the weight stack can include channels or guides to facilitate up and down movement of the weight plates.

The third range controller can include a blocking member configured above a weight selector of the first weight stack 116 for sliding movement in a blocking member track. In particular, after pulling the pin outwards, the blocking member can be slid along the blocking member track to different positions, such as at the desired distance from the weight selector of the weights, and locked in the position by releasing the pin for locking with a corresponding hole on the frame, for achieving a desired range of motion.

Claims
CLAIMS1. An apparatus (100) configured to facilitate lat-pull down exercise with hip rotation exercise simultaneously, the apparatus (100) comprising: a. a base frame (102); b. a bench (104) configured over the base frame (102) to allow a user to sit thereon while performing exercises; c. a set of a pair of stabilizing pads (114) attached below the bench (104); and d. a handlebar (110) moveable with a set of gripping handles (112).
2. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the stabilizing pads (114) are configured to secure thighs in place to stabilize the legs of the user and prevent unwanted movement during the hip rotation exercise.
3. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the gripping handles (112) allow the user in a seated position to hold the handles while performing the lat-pull down exercise.
4. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a first range controller (122) configured to control angular movement of the bench (104) during the hip rotation exercise.
5. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a second range controller (120) configured to control a motion of the gripping handles (112) during the lat-pull down exercise.
6. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a first weight stack (116) and a second weight stack (118) configured to provide adjustable resistance.
7. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the bench (104) includes a variable adjustment mechanism (98) that will allow users of various sizes and heights to adjust the machine to their sizes.
8. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the stabilizing pads (114) include an adjustable mechanism (94) for stabilizing the lower body throughout the legs.
9. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 6, wherein the first weight stack (116) is configured to provide adjustable resistance while performing lat-pull down exercise.
10. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 6, wherein the second weight stack (118) is configured to provide adjustable resistance while performing hip rotation exercise.
11. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 4, wherein the first range controller (120) is configured to limit movement of the second weight stack (118) during the hip rotation exercise.
12. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 5, wherein the second range controller (122) is configured to limit movement of the first weight stack (116) during the lat-pull down exercise.
13. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a vertical frame (108) erected over a rear end of the base frame (102), wherein the handlebar (110) is movably coupled to the vertical frame (108).
14. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a footrest (106) configured in front of the bench (104) to allow the user to place their foot thereon while performing exercises.
15. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, further comprising an adjustable chest pad (124) attached at one side of the bench (104), wherein the chest pad (124) is configured to provide additional support and stability to the upper body during the lat-pull down and hip rotation exercises.
