AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

When multiple terminal devices communicate with network devices, as the number of terminal devices increases, ensuring that the DMRS corresponding to different terminal devices is orthogonal will lead to increased resource overhead and reduce the overall throughput of the system.

Method used

By configuring non-orthogonal DMRS ports and employing interference null projection and successive interference cancellation methods, resource overhead is reduced and communication reliability is improved.

Benefits of technology

This improved communication reliability and system throughput between multiple terminal devices and network devices without increasing DMRS port resources.

Abstract

A communication method and apparatus, which relate to the technical field of communications, and can improve the reliability of communication between a plurality of terminal devices and a network device, and can also reduce the resource overheads as much as possible. The method comprises: a network device sending first configuration information to each terminal device in a first terminal device set, wherein the first configuration information comprises DMRS port information corresponding to the terminal device and ZP-DMRS port information corresponding to the terminal device; and sending second configuration information to each terminal device in a second terminal device set, wherein the second configuration information comprises DMRS port information corresponding to the terminal device. DMRS ports corresponding to terminal devices belonging to the same terminal device set are orthogonal, and at least two of the DMRS ports corresponding to different terminal device sets are non-orthogonal; and the first terminal device set and the second terminal device set are determined on the basis of first spatial-domain directions corresponding to the terminal devices, and the first spatial-domain direction corresponding to each terminal device is determined on the basis of the energies of spatial-domain directions corresponding to the terminal device.
