Abstract

Embodiments include methods for an application programming interface (API) invoker hosted by a second user equipment (UE). Such methods include sending, to a common API core function (CCF) of the communication network, a request for authorization of an application hosted by the second UE to access a communication network resource owned by a resource owner (RO) associated with a first UE. The request includes an identifier (ID) of the first UE and an ID of the application. Such methods include receiving from the CCF a response to the authorization request. The response includes an access token that grants the application hosted by the second UE authorization to access the communication network resource. Other embodiments include complementary methods for a CCF and for a RO function, as well as UEs and network equipment configured to perform such methods.
