The power control device according to an embodiment may include: multiple DC-DC converters connected to multiple batteries, respectively, and for converting power output from each of the multiple batteries and transmitting the converted power to an output of the battery system, or converting input power of the battery system and transmitting the converted input power to each of the multiple batteries; and a controller for receiving state-of-charge information and rated information of each of the multiple batteries from the multiple batteries, selecting a battery to be operated among the multiple batteries according to the state-of-charge information, determining target operating power of the battery to be operated, according to the rated information, and controlling an output of a DC-DC converter connected to the battery to be operated among the multiple DC-DC converters, according to the target operating power.
