Abstract

An apparatus comprising: at least one processor; and at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform: defining or assigning a reference picture offset override value for a current picture; and signaling, in the current picture, the reference picture offset override value, wherein the reference picture offset override value is intended to be used as a distance between the current picture and a reference picture for coding of the current picture.
