Description

/ 3 CONSTRUCTIONAL ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN A PNEUMATIC RIVETING MACHINE INTENDED FOR BRAKE LININGS Field of invention

[001] The present invention relates to a constructive arrangement applied to a portable pneumatic riveting machine used in metalworking and by independent mechanics, to rivet the brake linings of heavy vehicles, enabling their deceleration by means of friction of the brake and clutch systems, of trucks, trailers and other vehicles. State of the art

[002] Road transport using heavy vehicles, such as trucks and trailers, remains the main means of moving goods and materials in Brazil. However, this method of transporting cargo is still susceptible to the dangers inherent in roads, from poorly planned highways to reckless drivers; there are no preventive measures in place to avoid costly accidents, considering factors such as the condition of the cargo being transported and the possibility of road obstructions, requiring immediate braking for these heavy cargo vehicles.

[003] It has been observed that frequent use of this device causes wear due to the high temperatures through which the linings transfer heat, frequently stimulating a frictional force in relation to the vehicle drum. Consequently, for the braking system to function properly, it becomes necessary to carry out routine and preventive maintenance of this tool through the replacement and riveting of linings, which is costly, of the products covered by patent BR 10 2020 002047-1. Fundamentals of the Invention

[004] In the case of the present invention, we will give particular emphasis to brake linings, Petition 870220078897, dated 08 / 31 / 2022, page 8 / 23 / 3 curved pieces fixed to the brake shoes that provide deceleration of heavy vehicles by means of friction force, which are riveted by pneumatic machines called riveting machines, ideal for fixing rivets to brake linings that then resist any type of motor movements and vibrations, from the release of compressed air.

[005] Considering the observations pointed out by the state of the art, the present invention, consisting of an improved model of a portable pneumatic riveting machine, provides the user with the freedom to reposition the apparatus for riveting the tarp in hard-to-reach corners; as well as providing even lower maintenance costs for the product. [007] The product assembly kit includes the following parts: a quick discharge valve with three 16 mm inlets (1); a 16 mm elbow (2); a triple plug with a 16 mm reducer, incorporating two 1 / 2 inch outlets (3); two 40 cm 1 / 2 inch Nylon hoses (4); a 12 mm actuation valve with reducer (5); a 180 cm 1 / 2 inch Nylon hose (6) and a shoe (7). The indicated elements are arranged along the main base of the machine, consisting of a metal housing (8); a support pin for riveting (9); an internal piston (10), which acts as the compressed air outlet, and a chamber (11), where it retains and pressurizes the compressed air, complemented by a pressure gauge (12) coupled to the top to measure the pressure of the ejected air.

[008] After assembling the main structure, the quick discharge valve (1), whose function is to accelerate the exhaust of compressed air to fire the rivets, is fixed to the front of the main structure by means of 8 mm nuts and washers; with a reducing elbow (2) that connects the said quick discharge valve to the actuation valve (5), which allows the entry of compressed air into the machine by means of the shoe (7), through a 180 cm 1 / 2 inch Nylon hose (6), inserted on top of this component,

[009] The link between the quick discharge valve (1) and the air chamber (11) is established by means of two 1 / 2” 40 cm Nylon hoses (4), each containing 1 / 2” inserts, introduced at the ends, attached to a triple plug (3); thus allowing the regulation of the compressed air output and measurement of the exhaust via a manometer (12).

[0010] To assist the user in exercising control during the riveting process, the present invention also provides a bilateral support pin (9) to act as a base; one end having a diameter of 15 mm for thick rivets and the other having a diameter of 12 mm for thin rivets.
