Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The disclosure relates to a radio device for a vehicle and a control method thereof. BACKGROUND

[0002] The information described in this section is provided only for the purpose of providing background information related to one embodiment of the disclosure and does not constitute prior art.

[0003] A vehicle can be equipped with a radio and a digital multimedia broadcast (DMB). A vehicle passenger can listen to an amplitude modulation (AM) / frequency modulation (FM) radio or a DMB radio broadcast using the radio and the DMB.

[0004] Types of the radio can include i) analog radios such as AM radios and FM radios, ii) digital radios such as digital audio broadcasting (DAB) and digital radio mondiale (DRM), and iii) Internet radios delivered through an Internet protocol.

[0005] An analog radio method has a problem in that as a vehicle moves away from a transmitter of a broadcast being listened to, a received signal becomes weaker and a broadcast condition deteriorates. For example, in places such as underground passages, underground parking lots, and tunnels, radio waves are difficult to reach an antenna attached to a vehicle, resulting in a low reception rate.

[0006] An Internet radio method is similar to an analog radio method in that radio waves are difficult to reach a vehicle or an in-vehicle terminal, but a reception rate is generally higher than that of an analog radio because facilities such as base stations and repeaters are built more densely than radios.

[0007] Telematics technology that combines a car and wireless communication technology is attracting attention. Telematics technology is applied to various functions such as navigation, information search, in-vehicle environment setting, and autonomous driving, enabling a vehicle driver and passengers to travel comfortably.

[0008] In a connected car that can access wireless communication, for example, an Internet radio accessible vehicle, a radio broadcast can be listened to through an Internet radio regardless of analog radio reception quality. Accordingly, in the case of an Internet radio accessible vehicle, even if analog radio reception quality is poor, a desired broadcast can be easily listened to through an Internet radio.

[0009] Therefore, there is a need for a technology that enables a radio broadcast to be easily listened to even when reception quality of an analog radio broadcast by a radio station is poor in a vehicle that can only receive an analog radio, for example, an Internet radio inaccessibility vehicle. SUMMARY

[0010] An object of the disclosure is to provide a radio device for a vehicle and a control method thereof, which enables easy listening to a radio broadcast in a vehicle in which an Internet radio is not accessible even when reception quality of an analog radio broadcast by a radio station is poor. Specifically, an embodiment of the disclosure provides a radio device for a vehicle and a control method thereof, which enables easy listening to a radio broadcast in a vehicle in which an Internet radio is not accessible by modulating an Internet radio received in a vehicle in which an Internet radio is accessible into an analog radio when the vehicle in which an Internet radio is accessible is adjacent to the vehicle in which an Internet radio is not accessible, transmitting the analog radio to the vehicle in which an Internet radio is not accessible, and allowing the vehicle in which an Internet radio is not accessible to receive the analog radio transmitted from the vehicle in which an Internet radio is accessible.

[0011] Technical objects of the disclosure are not limited to the above-mentioned technical objects. Other technical objects not mentioned above will be more clearly understood by persons skilled in the art from the following description.

[0012] An embodiment of the disclosure provides a method of controlling a radio device for a vehicle, the method including checking a program name of a program of an Internet radio being listened to, searching for a frequency of a first analog radio having the program name, the first analog radio being a radio broadcast transmitted by a radio station, checking an electric field intensity of the first analog radio at the frequency, modulating an Internet radio into a second analog radio when the electric field intensity is less than a threshold value, and transmitting the second analog radio.

[0013] Another embodiment of the disclosure provides a method of controlling a radio device for a vehicle, the method including receiving a second analog radio, demodulating the second analog radio into an original radio, and playing the original radio using an in-vehicle output device, wherein the second analog radio is a signal generated by a surrounding vehicle by checking a program name of a program of an Internet radio being listened to, searching for a frequency of a first analog radio having the program name, the first analog radio being a radio broadcast transmitted by a radio station, checking an electric field intensity of the first analog radio at the frequency, and modulating an Internet radio into a second analog radio when the electric field intensity is less than a threshold value, and wherein the original radio is the same signal as the Internet radio.

[0014] According to an embodiment of the disclosure, even when reception quality of an analog radio broadcast by a radio station is poor, a vehicle in which an Internet radio is not accessible can easily play a radio broadcast by receiving an analog radio transmitted from a surrounding vehicle in which an Internet radio is accessible.

[0015] Technical effects of the disclosure are not limited to the above-mentioned technical effects. Other technical effects not mentioned herein can be more clearly understood by persons skilled in the art to which the disclosure pertains from the following description. Attached Figure Description

[0027] The following detailed description describes exemplary embodiments of the present application and is not intended to represent the only embodiments in which the present application can be practiced. Figure 1 The purpose of the detailed description is to describe exemplary embodiments of the present application and is not intended to represent the only embodiments in which the present application can be practiced.

[0028] Figure 1 FIG. 1 is a diagram showing an example in which an Internet radio accessible vehicle transmits analog radio to an Internet radio non-accessible vehicle according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0029] The Internet radio accessible vehicle 110 can transmit analog radio to the Internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120. The Internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 can receive the analog radio transmitted from the vehicle 110. The vehicles 110 and 120 can be adjacent to each other.

[0030] The transmission and reception of the analog radio can be performed via the antennas 111 and 121 provided in the respective vehicles. The antennas 111 and 121 can be a pole antenna, a glass antenna, or a shark fin antenna. The antennas 111 and 121 can be included in a transmitter and a receiver.

[0031] Figure 2 FIG. 2 is a diagram for explaining a structure of a transmitter according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 3 FIG. 3 is a diagram for explaining a structure of a receiver according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0032] Referring to FIG. 2, Figure 2 The transmitter 200 includes a mixer 220, an oscillator 230, an amplifier 240, and an antenna (for example, the antenna 111).

[0033] The transmitter 200 can be installed on the Internet radio accessible vehicle 110.

[0034] The Internet radio accessible vehicle 110 receives an Internet radio, that is, a baseband signal 210. The baseband signal is a signal containing information that a sender wants to convey to a receiver in communication. The baseband signal can be voice, video, image, or data.

[0035] The internet radio accessible vehicle 110 modulates the baseband signal 210 using the mixer 220. During the modulation, a signal generated by the oscillator 230 can be used. The modulation methods can include amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM).

[0036] The internet radio accessible vehicle 110 amplifies the modulated signal (not shown) using the amplifier 240. The internet radio accessible vehicle 110 transmits the amplified signal (not shown) using the antenna 111. In an example, the antenna 111 radiates the electrical signal as electromagnetic waves (not shown).

[0037] Since Figure 2 is a diagram that schematically shows the structure of a radio transmitter, at least one additional mixer, amplifier, filter, and loop can be required according to some embodiments.

[0038] Referring to Figure 3 , the receiver 300 includes an antenna (e.g., the antenna 121), an amplifier 310, a mixer 320, and an oscillator 330.

[0039] The structure of the receiver 300 is generally the same as that of the transmitter 200. The receiver 300 can be installed on the internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120.

[0040] The internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 receives the electromagnetic waves radiated by the internet radio accessible vehicle 110. The antenna 121 transforms the electromagnetic waves into an electrical signal.

[0041] The internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 amplifies the received signal (not shown) using the amplifier 310. The internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 demodulates the amplified signal (not shown) using the mixer 320. During the demodulation, a signal generated by the oscillator 330 can be used.

[0042] The internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 receives the demodulated signal, i.e., the baseband signal 340. Therefore, the passengers of the vehicle can listen to the original radio, which is the same signal as the internet radio.

[0043] If the process performed in the transmitter 200 is reversed, it becomes the process performed in the receiver 300. Based on this principle, the vehicle can use the receiving antenna as a transmitting antenna if necessary.

[0044] One embodiment according to the present disclosure assumes a case where the Internet radio accessible vehicle 110 uses a receiving antenna as a transmitting antenna. For example, the antenna 111 of the Internet radio accessible vehicle 110 and the antenna 121 of the Internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 are substantially the same antenna, with the difference being only whether the antenna converts a received electric signal into an electromagnetic wave or converts a received electromagnetic wave into an electric signal.

[0045] Figure 4 FIG. 1 is a flowchart illustrating a method for transmitting an analog radio of an Internet radio accessible vehicle according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0046] In operation S410, the processor (not shown) checks a program name of a program of an Internet radio being listened to.

[0047] In operation S420, the processor searches for a frequency of a first analog radio having the same program name as the checked program name. The first analog radio is a radio broadcast transmitted by a radio station.

[0048] In operation S430, the processor checks an electric field intensity of the first analog radio at the searched frequency. In an example, dBμV can be used as a unit of the electric field intensity.

[0049] In operation S440, the processor determines whether the electric field intensity of the checked first analog radio is less than a threshold value. The threshold value can be 20 dBμV.

[0050] When the electric field intensity of the first analog radio is less than the threshold value, in operation S450, the transmitter 200 modulates the Internet radio into a second analog radio. In operation S460, the transmitter 200 transmits the second analog radio. The antenna 111 can be used for the transmission process of the second analog radio.

[0051] The Internet radio accessible vehicle 110 can use a receiving antenna installed on the vehicle as a transmitting antenna. For example, the antenna 111 is a receiving antenna, but can also be used as a transmitting antenna.

[0052] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the transmitter 200 can transmit the second analog radio on the same frequency as the first analog radio. In this case, the Internet radio can correspond to the baseband signal 210. The baseband signal 210 can be an electric signal. The second analog radio can correspond to the electric signal in the modulation process in operation S450, and can correspond to an electromagnetic wave propagated in the air by the antenna 111 in the transmission process in operation S460.

[0053] In other words, the Internet radio, the first analog radio, and the second analog radio are all represented as "radios", but note that the form can be different depending on the process to which it belongs.

[0054] When the electric field strength of the first analog radio is equal to or greater than the threshold value, the processor returns to the process of searching for the first analog radio frequency in operation S420.

[0055] Figure 4 The process of FIG. 1 can be performed in the vehicle 110 accessible to the Internet radio.

[0056] Figure 5 FIG. 1 is a flowchart illustrating a method for an Internet radio accessible vehicle to transmit a discrimination signal and an analog radio according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0057] In comparison with the method of FIG. 1, Figure 4 The method of FIG. 1 is compared with the method of FIG. 1, and operations S510 for performing a discrimination signal generation process and S520 for performing a discrimination information transmission process are added.

[0058] In operation 510, the processor generates a discrimination signal. The discrimination signal is a signal for distinguishing the first analog radio transmitted by the radio station from the second analog radio transmitted by the vehicle 110 accessible to the Internet radio from the perspective of the vehicle 120 not accessible to the Internet radio. To generate the discrimination signal, at least one oscillator can be additionally used.

[0059] In operation S520, the transmitter 200 transmits the discrimination signal. The antenna 111 can be used in the process of transmitting the discrimination signal.

[0060] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, in operation S520, the transmitter 200 can transmit the discrimination signal on the same frequency as the frequency of the first analog radio. In this case, in operation S460, the transmitter 200 can transmit the second analog radio on a frequency different from the frequency of the first analog radio.

[0061] The frequency different from the frequency of the first analog radio can differ from the frequency of the first analog radio by 100 kHz. For example, when the first analog radio transmits in the 89.1 MHz band, the transmitter 200 can transmit the discrimination signal at 89.1 MHz and the second analog radio at 89.2 MHz.

[0062] In at least some embodiments, the method can prevent interference with the signal transmitted by the radio station by transmitting the second analog radio using a frequency different from the first analog radio. In other words, in comparison with the method of FIG. 1, Figure 4 Figure 5 The addition / modification process in the method of the radio station can prevent interference between a signal transmitted by the radio station and a signal transmitted by a surrounding vehicle of the receiving vehicle.

[0063] In Figure 5 In this case, the discrimination signal generation process in operation S510 and the discrimination information transmission process in operation S520 are arranged after the process of modulating the internet radio into the second analog radio in operation S450 and before the process of transmitting the second analog radio in operation S460. However, the disclosure is not limited to the order of arrangement. For example, the discrimination signal generation process in operation S510 and the discrimination signal transmission process in operation S520 can be performed simultaneously with the second analog radio modulation process in operation S450 and the second analog radio transmission process in operation S460.

[0064] Figure 5 The process of the radio station can be performed in the internet radio accessible vehicle 110.

[0065] Figure 6 is a flowchart illustrating a method for an internet radio non-accessible vehicle to receive an analog radio from an internet radio accessible vehicle according to one embodiment of the disclosure.

[0066] In operation S610, the receiver 300 receives the second analog radio. The antenna 121 can be used for the reception process of the second analog radio.

[0067] The second analog radio can be a signal generated by the internet radio accessible vehicle 110. The internet radio accessible vehicle 110 and the internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 can be adjacent to each other.

[0068] According to one embodiment of the disclosure, the receiver 300 can receive the second analog radio on the same frequency as the first analog radio.

[0069] In operation S620, the receiver 300 demodulates the second analog radio into the original radio.

[0070] The original radio can be the same as the internet radio signal. This is because the original radio is a result of the internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 receiving the modulated internet radio from the internet radio accessible vehicle 110 and demodulating it. In this case, the original radio can correspond to the baseband signal 340. The baseband signal 340 can be an electrical signal. The second analog radio can correspond to an electromagnetic wave received by the antenna 121 in the reception process in operation S610, and can correspond to an electrical signal in the demodulation process in operation S620. Accordingly, the baseband signal 340 corresponding to the original radio can be the same signal as the baseband signal 210 corresponding to the internet radio.

[0071] In operation S630, the processor (not shown) plays the original radio using the in-vehicle output device. The in-vehicle output device can be a speaker, a wired / wireless headset, and earphones.

[0072] Figure 6 The process of FIG. 1 can be performed in the vehicle 120 in which the Internet radio is not accessible.

[0073] Figure 6 The process of FIG. 1 can be performed after the process of Figure 4 or Figure 5 but the present disclosure is not limited thereto.

[0074] Figure 7 is a flowchart of a method for receiving a discrimination signal and an analog radio from a vehicle in which an Internet radio is accessible by a vehicle in which an Internet radio is not accessible according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0075] Compared to the method of Figure 6 , operation S710 for performing a discrimination signal receiving process is added.

[0076] In operation S710, the receiver 300 receives the discrimination signal. The antenna 121 can be used for the process of receiving the discrimination signal.

[0077] The discrimination signal can be a signal generated by the vehicle 110 in which the Internet radio is accessible. The vehicle 110 in which the Internet radio is accessible and the vehicle 120 in which the Internet radio is not accessible can be adjacent to each other.

[0078] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, in operation S710, the receiver 300 can receive the discrimination signal on the same frequency as the frequency of the first analog radio. In this case, in operation S610, the receiver 300 can receive the second analog radio on a frequency different from the frequency of the first analog radio.

[0079] The frequency different from the frequency of the first analog radio can differ from the frequency of the first analog radio by 100 kHz. For example, when the first analog radio transmits in the 89.1 MHz band, the receiver 300 can receive the discrimination signal at 89.1 MHz and the second analog radio at 89.2 MHz.

[0080] In at least some embodiments, the method can prevent interference with a signal transmitted by a radio station by receiving the second analog radio using a frequency different from the first analog radio. In other words, compared to the method of Figure 6 , Figure 7The adding / modifying process in the method of the identification signal receiving process can prevent interference between a signal transmitted by the radio station and a signal transmitted by a surrounding vehicle of the receiving vehicle. The surrounding vehicle can be the Internet radio accessible vehicle 110.

[0081] In Figure 7 , the identification signal receiving process in operation S710 is scheduled before the second analog radio receiving process in operation S610. However, the disclosure is not limited to this order. For example, the identification signal receiving process in operation S710 can be performed simultaneously with the second analog radio receiving process in operation S610.

[0082] Figure 7 The process of

[0083] Figure 7 The process of Figure 4 or Figure 5 may be performed after the entire process of

[0084] Figure 8 is a flowchart illustrating a method for an Internet radio non-accessible vehicle to receive an identification signal and an analog radio from an Internet radio accessible vehicle, and a method for the Internet radio non-accessible vehicle to receive either of the two from the Internet radio accessible vehicle according to one embodiment of the disclosure.

[0085] In operation S810, the processor checks an electric field intensity of the identification signal at the same frequency as the frequency of the first analog radio. dBμV can be used as a unit of the electric field intensity.

[0086] In operation S820, the processor determines whether the checked electric field intensity of the identification signal is less than a threshold value.

[0087] When the electric field intensity of the identification signal is greater than the threshold value, the same process as in Figure 7 is performed. Thus, in operation S710, the receiver 300 receives the identification signal at the same frequency as the frequency of the first analog radio, in operation S610, receives the second analog radio at a frequency different from the frequency of the first analog radio, and in operation S620, demodulates the second analog radio into the original radio, and in operation S630, the processor (not shown) plays the original radio using the in-vehicle output device.

[0088] Thus, in the embodiment, the Internet radio non-accessible vehicle 120 receives the identification signal and the second analog radio transmitted by the Internet radio accessible vehicle 110.

[0089] When the electric field intensity of the discrimination signal is less than the threshold value, the Internet radio-inaccessible vehicle 120 receives the first analog radio on the same frequency as the frequency of the first analog radio in operation S830. In other words, when the electric field intensity of the discrimination signal is less than the threshold value, the processor (not shown) determines that there is no Internet radio-inaccessible vehicle 110 that transmits the discrimination signal and the second analog radio in the vicinity, and attempts to receive the first analog radio broadcast broadcast by the radio station.

[0090] Accordingly, in an embodiment, the Internet radio-inaccessible vehicle 120 does not receive either the discrimination signal transmitted by the Internet radio-inaccessible vehicle 110 or the second analog radio.

[0091] Figure 8 The procedure of FIG. 8 can be performed in the Internet radio-inaccessible vehicle 120.

[0092] Each element of the apparatus or method according to the present application can be implemented in hardware or software or a combination of hardware and software. The function of the corresponding element can be implemented in software, and a microprocessor can be implemented to perform the software function corresponding to the corresponding element.

[0093] Various embodiments of the system and technology described herein can be realized in digital electronic circuitry, integrated circuitry, specially designed application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), computer hardware, firmware, software, and / or combinations thereof. These various embodiments can include implementation in one or more computer programs that are executable on a programmable system including at least one programmable processor, which can be special- purpose or general purpose, coupled to receive data and instructions from, and to transmit data and instructions to, a storage system, at least one input device, and at least one output device. Computer programs (also known as programs, software, software applications or code) include machine instructions for the programmable processor, and they can be stored in the storage system, which can be a computer-readable recording medium.

[0094] The computer-readable recording medium can include all types of storage devices in which data readable by a computer can be stored. The computer-readable recording medium can be a non-volatile or non-transitory medium, such as a read-only memory (ROM), a random access memory (RAM), a compact disc ROM (CD-ROM), a magnetic tape, a floppy disk, or an optical data storage device. In addition, the computer-readable recording medium can further include a transitory medium such as a data transmission medium. Furthermore, the computer-readable recording medium can be distributed over a computer system connected through a network, and computer-readable program code can be stored and executed in a distributed manner.
