Abstract

This application relates to the technical fields of fine chemicals and organic synthesis, and in particular to a microchannel continuous flow process for producing sunflower seed musk. The process includes: mixing 3-methoxy-4-tert-butyltoluene with acetic anhydride to prepare feedstock solution A; reacting acetic anhydride with nitric acid at low temperature to obtain nitrating reagent solution B; pumping A and B into a microchannel reactor for continuous nitration at -8 to 0°C, controlling the residence time to 1.5 to 3 minutes, and introducing the tail gas into an alkaline solution for absorption; quenching the reaction solution with ice water, separation, and drying to obtain the finished product. This application utilizes the efficient mass and heat transfer characteristics of the microchannel reactor to significantly shorten the reaction time, reduce the risk of thermal runaway during nitration, and effectively reduce by-product formation and improve yield and purity through precise control of the feed ratio and temperature, achieving inherent safety and automation in the production process.
