Method for off-line root establishment using a small winch

Abstract

This invention discloses a method for offline root establishment using a small winch. It utilizes the existing drilling rig's top-and-bottom tools, drilling platform robot, second-level platform robot, and small winch, and adds equipment such as a lifting clamp, rat-hole slips, rat holes, and wire rope guide pulleys. The power catwalk transports the riser to the drilling platform. The small winch drum rotates in both directions to raise and lower the lifting clamp. The lifting clamp then secures the upper end of a single or riser to lift or lower the drilling tool. The rat hole and rat-hole slips are used to temporarily store single, double, or triple risers. The top-and-bottom tools connect the threads of multiple single risers, ultimately establishing a riser. Finally, the lifting clamp, in conjunction with the drilling platform robot and second-level platform robot, stores the riser in the riser platform. After retrofitting older drilling rigs using this method, automated offline root establishment can be achieved with minimal work, low difficulty, and low cost. The entire root establishment process is also simpler and easier for on-site operators.
