Medical device and method of adhering such devices onto biological tissues

Abstract

An assembly and a method for applying a medical device onto a soft tissue of a mammal. The assembly comprises a medical or analytical device having a surface configured for contacting the tissue, the surface further being configured for receiving liquid polymerizable adhesive thereon for adhering the assembly onto the fibrous envelope of the tissue. Liquid polymerizable adhesives, with cyanoacrylate functionalities, will greatly facilitate fastening of the medical device to the soft tissue and will remove the need for use of mechanical fastening means, such as sutures.
