Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a configuration of a work hand protector that protects the back and palm of the hand of an operator during various operations such as luggage handling.

Background Art

[0002] During various operations such as luggage packing, transportation, and installation work after transportation, the back (the back of the hand) of the hand of the operator holding the luggage often accidentally hits surrounding objects and gets injured.

[0003] To prevent such accidents, conventionally, for example, a flat belt-shaped protector body (base material) that is worn with the inner surface side in contact with the back of the hand of the operator, a first mounting portion that mounts the protector body on the outer periphery of the operator's wrist in a fitted state at the proximal end side of the protector body, a second mounting portion that mounts the protector body on the fingers in a fitted state at the distal end side of the protector body, and a protection pad that is attached to the outer surface side of the protector body and protects the back of the hand of the operator have been proposed (see Patent Document 1).

[0004] In this hand protection device, the protective device body (of a size and shape suitable for protecting the back of the hand), which is a flat, band-shaped protective device extending from the first attachment side (wrist side) to the second attachment side (the side for the four fingers excluding the thumb), is formed from, for example, a flat, band-shaped cloth material of a predetermined thickness that is flexible and stretchable. The first attachment part, which is fitted onto the outer circumference of the worker's wrist, is formed from, for example, a tubular cloth material of a predetermined thickness that is flexible and stretchable. The upper front end of the first attachment part, which is made of the tubular cloth material, is sewn to the base end of the protective device body, which is made of the band-shaped cloth material, thereby integrating them. On the other hand, the second attachment part, which is fitted onto the worker's fingers, consists of, for example, string-shaped finger insertion rings provided at two positions corresponding to the index finger and little finger on the left and right sides of the front end of the protective device body, so that the worker's index finger and little finger are inserted when the protective device is worn (see Figures 2 to 5 of the same document 1). Then, these two sets of attachment parts attach the protective device to the back of the worker's hand (see Figure 1 in the same document 1).

[0005] On the other hand, the protective pad is made by molding an impact-absorbing material such as expanded polystyrene into a size and shape suitable for protecting the back of the hand, and is detachably attached to the outer surface of the protective device body via a hook-and-loop fastener consisting of a combination of hook and loop parts (see Figure 5 in the same document 1).

[0006] Furthermore, as a variation, a configuration is shown in which the two sets of string-like finger insertion rings corresponding to the index finger and little finger are replaced with a single set of finger insertion rings corresponding to all four fingers except the thumb (see Figure 6 in the same document 1).

[0007] With this type of hand protection, the thumb area is free, and it can be worn over gloves such as work gloves. Also, if a worker is carrying an object and the back of their hand hits an object or wall, the protective pad attached to the outside of the protective device absorbs the impact, preventing injury. [0008] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2013-185290 [Overview of the project] [Problems that the invention aims to solve]

[0009] However, in the case of the hand protection device shown in Patent Document 1, while the wrist side is fine, the tip side of the protective device body is only secured by hooking the fingers onto two (or one) string-like finger rings at both ends of the underside. As a result, the way the protective device body is attached to the worker's hand (its secure state) is very unstable, and the protective pad itself, which is attached via hook-and-loop fasteners, is not securely attached. In particular, there are no fastening means on either side of the protective device body located in the center of the hand, so when worn, a gap easily forms between the protective device body (base material) and the back of the hand, resulting in a lack of a sense of unity with the hand. It is also prone to shifting sideways when it comes into contact with adjacent objects. Furthermore, the protective pad is simply attached to the outer surface of the protective device body (base material) via hook-and-loop fasteners, which has the disadvantage of low bonding strength and being easily detached from the protective device body. Therefore, the configuration of the hand protection device in Patent Document 1 does not necessarily provide effective protection. Its durability is also insufficient.

[0010] Furthermore, although it may be possible to wear them over work gloves or other types of gloves, it is not easy to put gloved fingers through the string-like finger loops, and if a finger loop configuration is used, it is necessary to accommodate the size of the worker's hand, requiring the preparation of multiple protective devices in different sizes.

[0011] Furthermore, when carrying luggage, a significant load is placed on the palm side of the hand. Therefore, it is necessary to protect the palm side at the same time, but the hand protection device described in Patent Document 1 is basically only designed to function as a back-of-hand cover and is therefore completely unable to meet such requirements.

[0012] The present invention was made to solve these problems, and aims to provide a work hand protection device that reliably solves the aforementioned conventional problems by ensuring that the protective device body reliably covers the entire surface of the worker's hand from the back to the palm, and is securely attached around the main body portion of the hand, excluding the thumb and all fingers other than the thumb. [Means for solving the problem]

[0013] In order to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, the present invention is configured to include the following problem-solving means.

[0014] (1) Means for solving the problem of the invention of claim 1 The means for solving the problem of this invention is a work hand protection device having three sets of openings: a first finger insertion opening on the side for inserting the thumb, a second finger insertion opening on the front for inserting all fingers other than the thumb, and a wrist insertion opening on the back for inserting the wrist, and covering the back and palm sides of the worker's hand to protect the worker's hand. The protective device is characterized by comprising: a rectangular protective body of a predetermined length that incorporates shock-absorbing material and can be folded in a U-shape from the back of the hand to the palm via the knife part of the worker's hand; a first connecting member located on the wrist insertion side of the protective body that detachably connects the open ends of the U-shaped folded protective body; and a second connecting member located on the second finger insertion side of the protective body that elastically connects the open ends of the U-shaped folded protective body, with the opening between the first and second connecting members serving as the first finger insertion opening for inserting the thumb.

[0015] In other words, in the case of the problem-solving means of this invention, the protective device for protecting the worker's hand is constructed around a rectangular protective device body of a predetermined thickness, width, and length that has a shock-absorbing material built in and can be folded in a U shape from the back of the hand to the palm side via the knife part of the worker's hand. When the protective device body is worn on the worker's hand, folded in a U shape from the back of the hand to the palm side via the knife part of the worker's hand, it forms three sets of openings: a first finger insertion opening on the side through which the worker's thumb is inserted, a second finger insertion opening on the front side through which all four fingers other than the thumb are inserted, and a wrist insertion opening on the rear side through which the carpal part at the front of the wrist is inserted. The device is designed to be detachably attached to the worker's hand through these three sets of openings.

[0016] Furthermore, when worn, the device securely covers the entire front and back of the worker's hand, from the back to the palm, and is firmly and stably fixed to the outer circumference of the main body of the hand (the part from the base of the thumb and the base of the four fingers other than the thumb to the carpal area), excluding the thumb and the entirety of the other four fingers. This ensures that the entire main body of the worker's hand is protected during various tasks.

[0017] Moreover, in this case, an opening is formed between a first connecting member, which connects the rear ends of the U-shaped bent protective device body to form a wrist wrap portion, and a second connecting member, which connects the front ends of the U-shaped bent protective device body to form a wrap portion for all four fingers other than the thumb, and this opening is formed in the first finger insertion opening through which the thumb is inserted.

[0018] Therefore, the thumb is inserted very freely, utilizing the sufficiently wide opening in the front-to-back direction between the first and second connecting members. In particular, in this configuration, when the device is first attached to the hand, only the second connecting member portion is connected, and the first connecting member portion is not yet connected. Therefore, not only the thumb, but also the entire fingers can be freely inserted into the front second finger insertion opening, which is common to all four fingers other than the thumb. Similarly, the wrist can be inserted into the rear wrist insertion opening, which is the last to be inserted.

[0019] Therefore, unlike conventional types of hand protectors having finger rings or finger holes, it can be smoothly worn even with various gloves on. Also, it can be freely worn without considering the hand size or the distinction between left and right hands. Thus, if two sets of protectors with the same configuration are prepared, they can be worn and used on both the left and right hands.

[0020] (2) Means for solving the problem of the invention of claim 2 The means for solving the problem of this invention is characterized in that, in the means for solving the problem of the invention of claim 1 above, the first connecting member is formed by two sets of mutually detachable surface fasteners.

[0021] According to such a configuration, the ends of the rear wrist insertion openings of the protector body bent in a U shape are detachably attached to each other by two sets of surface fasteners, and can be arbitrarily adjusted to a desired tightening degree according to the size of the operator's wrist, and then detached.

[0022] Therefore, the ends of the wrist insertion openings on the rear side of the protector body bent in a U shape also have a fitting feeling desired by the operator and are securely attached to the operator's wrist (the base of the hand). As a result, it is not necessary to set the size of the protector body, and also due to the improvement of the wearing state, the workability is improved.

[0023] (3) Means for solving the problem of the invention of claim 3 The means for solving the problem of this invention is characterized in that, in the means for solving the problem of the invention of claim 1 above, the second connecting member is formed by an annular belt-like body, while on the end portion of the second finger insertion opening side of the protector body, a belt-like body storage portion for storing the belt-like body is provided, the belt-like body is slidably stored in the belt-like body storage portion, and an expansion / contraction portion of a predetermined length is provided in the middle thereof.

[0024] According to such a configuration, the second connecting member formed of an annular belt-like body having an expansion and contraction function ensures that the end portion on the second finger insertion port side of the protector main body is closed in an annular structure (substantially cylindrical shape) with a predetermined planar width. Moreover, the opening diameter of the substantially cylindrical second finger insertion port changes with an appropriate pressing feeling according to the size of the hand of the operator inserted therein. Therefore, the front portion of the protector main body is surely fixed in a state of maintaining a good wearing state to the front portion extending from each base joint portion of the four fingers other than the thumb to the main body portion of the hand.

[0025] (4) Means for solving the problem of the invention according to claim 4 The means for solving the problem of this invention is that, in the means for solving the problem of the invention according to claim 3 above, the belt-like body is formed by sewing and integrating two sets of belt-like bodies, namely, a belt-like body with high strength and a belt-like body in which flat rubber is wrapped inside a belt-like body with high strength, while forming an expansion and contraction portion by configuring a part of the middle thereof with only flat rubber.

[0026] According to such a configuration, the strength and rigidity of the belt-like body slidably accommodated in the belt-like body storage portion at the end portion on the second finger insertion port side of the protector main body become sufficiently high, and the belt-like body functions as a core material at the second finger insertion port.

[0027] As a result, the rigidity and shape stability of the second finger insertion port through which the entire four fingers other than the thumb are commonly inserted on the front end side of the protector main body are increased, and stable fixation of the protector main body to the hand during wearing becomes possible. Therefore, the protection functions of the back of the hand and the palm in the wearing state are improved. Also, carrying and installing work of loads becomes easier.

Effect of the invention

[0028] As a result of the above, according to the work hand protector of the present invention, finger holes and finger rings like those of conventional general glove-structured hand protectors are completely unnecessary. Therefore, it can be easily worn even over various work gloves such as military gloves. <着

[0029] Furthermore, the overall structure is simple, making it easy to manufacture (sew). It is also lightweight. Due to its structure, there is no need to set sizes according to the size of the worker's hand, nor is there a need for left / right specific designs, which significantly reduces product costs compared to conventional glove structures.

[0030] The protective gear can be made from a variety of materials, such as canvas, various synthetic fiber fabrics, synthetic leather, or genuine leather, allowing for variations to be developed to suit various work applications. [Brief explanation of the drawing]

[0032] The configuration and operation of the work hand protection device according to the embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below.

[0033] First, Figure 1 shows the structure of the protective device body when the protective device is worn on a worker's hand. Figures 2 to 7 show the structure of the protective device body from various angles, as well as a section cut out to reveal the interior. Furthermore, Figures 8 to 22 show the sewing process (manufacturing process) from the raw material state to the final product form of the protective device body.

[0034] <Structure of the protective equipment body> The work hand protection device (hereinafter simply referred to as "protection device") 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention, as shown in Figures 1 to 7, for example, has three sets of openings when worn on a worker's hand (Figure 1): a first finger insertion opening on the side for inserting the worker's thumb A, a second finger insertion opening on the front for inserting the entire remaining four fingers B other than the thumb A, and a wrist insertion opening on the rear for inserting the carpal portion at the front end of the wrist C. It is designed to be detachably attached to the worker's hand through these three sets of openings, and in this worn state, as shown in Figure 1, for example, it reliably covers the entire front and back surface of the worker's hand from the back of the hand (hand portion) to the palm, and is reliably fixed to the outer circumference of the main body portion of the hand (from the proximal phalanx of the thumb and the proximal phalanx of each of the other four fingers to the carpal portion), excluding the thumb A and the entire remaining four fingers B other than the thumb. This ensures that the entire main body portion of the worker's hand is reliably protected during various work activities.

[0035] As shown in Figures 2 to 7, for example, this protective device 1 is bent into a U-shape overall in cross-section, and consists of a protective device body (protective cover member) 5 having a length in the left-right direction and a width in the front-back direction that securely covers the entire surface of the worker's hand from the back of the hand to the palm, via the knife part of the worker's hand, and securely fits around the main body of the hand (the part from the proximal phalanx of the thumb and the proximal phalanx of the four fingers other than the thumb to the carpal area), excluding the thumb A and the entire remaining four fingers B, a tape-shaped first connecting member 7 that detachably connects the upper and lower ends of the rear (wrist C side) opening of the U-shaped protective device body 5, and a band-shaped second connecting member 8 that connects the upper and lower ends of the front (entire four fingers B side) opening of the U-shaped protective device body 5.

[0036] In this embodiment, as an example, the protective device body 5 is formed by folding a rectangular canvas fabric of a predetermined thickness, such as cotton or linen, in a plain weave, from the front side (the entire four fingers B side) to the rear side (the wrist C side) in a U shape, and overlapping the outer and inner fabrics in a U shape to form a two-piece fabric structure. At the rear end (the wrist C side), there is a first connecting member attachment part 51 with a predetermined front-to-back width, at the front end (the entire four fingers B side excluding the thumb A), there is a second connecting member attachment part 52 with a predetermined front-to-back width, and between them are impact absorbing material installation parts 53 and 54 with a predetermined front-to-back width.

[0037] As shown in detail in Figures 2 and 3, for example, the first connecting member attachment portion 51 is formed with the outer fabric extending a predetermined distance further back than the inner fabric. The outer fabric, which is the predetermined distance longer than the inner fabric, is folded inward in a U-shape towards the side that contacts the hand, and the folded portion is overlapped with the inner fabric and its end is sewn to it to form a flat cylindrical shape. Using these two pieces of fabric on the inner and outer sides of the folded portion, the tape-shaped first hook-and-loop fastener 7a and the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b that constitute the first connecting member 7 are sewn to either the left or right end, with their positions alternating. These flat cylindrical first connecting member attachment portion 51 and the first connecting member 7 form the wrist insertion opening 4 in the wrist attachment portion on the wrist-wrapping side of the protective device body 5.

[0038] In this embodiment, first, the entire tape-like first hook-and-loop fastener 7a, folded into a U shape, is sewn to both the front and back sides of one end of the outer fabric (main body fabric) of the folded portion while maintaining its U shape. Also, the base end (a portion slightly longer than half the total length) of the strip-shaped second hook-and-loop fastener 7b, which protrudes outward from the side for a predetermined length, is sewn flat to the back side of the other end of the inner fabric (folded piece) of the folded portion (see Figure 18 of the sewing process described later). In this embodiment, for example, the fastener surface of the first hook-and-loop fastener 7a is formed to have a loop structure, and the fastener surface of the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b is formed to have a hook structure.

[0039] Then, the protective device body 5 is bent into a U-shape in cross-section as shown in Figure 1 (this U-shaped bent state of the protective device body 5 is achieved by storing the strip-shaped second connecting member 8 in the second connecting member storage section 52), and when worn on the worker's hand, the fastener surface of the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b is joined (engaged) to the fastener surface of the first hook-and-loop fastener 7a, thereby firmly and stably connecting the upper and lower ends of the rear (wrist C side) opening of the protective device body 4 (the upper and lower ends of the opening on the first connecting member attachment section 51). The degree of this connection can be arbitrarily adjusted by adjusting the joining position (joining dimension) of the fastener surface of the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b to the fastener surface of the first hook-and-loop fastener 7a. This adjusts the opening diameter of the wrist insertion opening 4 in the wrist attachment section.

[0040] Both the first hook-and-loop fastener 7a and the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b are tape-shaped in their raw material state. The thickness, width, flexibility, and strength of the tape material in this tape-shaped state are selected to be sufficient to firmly and stably connect the upper and lower ends of the rear (wrist C side) opening of the protective device body 4, which has a U-shaped cross-section (the upper and lower ends of the opening on the first connecting member attachment part 51), to each other as described above.

[0041] Next, the second connecting member storage section 52, as shown in detail in Figure 3, for example, utilizes a U-shaped section formed by folding the canvas fabric that makes up the protective device body 5 from the front side (the entire four fingers B side excluding the thumb A) to the rear side (the wrist C side). The strip-shaped second connecting member 8 is slidably stored (inserted) between the two pieces of fabric on the inner and outer sides of the U-shaped section, and the rear side of the second connecting member 8 is sewn parallel to the stored strip-shaped second connecting member 8 by a predetermined distance, forming a flat cylindrical section.

[0042] The strip-shaped second connecting member 8 housed within this cylindrical portion is configured as shown, for example, in Figures 13(a) to (c).

[0043] Specifically, as shown in Figure 13(a), two sets of rectangular base fabrics are prepared, each made of the same canvas fabric as the protective device body 5, and of sufficient length to encircle the outer circumference of the proximal phalanges of all four fingers B, excluding the thumb A, in the wearing state shown in Figure 1. Next, as shown in Figure 13(b), these two sets of base fabrics are each folded into thirds to form a strip-like body of the required length and a predetermined width corresponding to the width of the cylindrical part of the second connecting member attachment part 52. At this time, one of the base fabrics is left as a strip-like body 8b made only of canvas fabric, while the other base fabric is folded into thirds with a flat elastic band 9 longer than the base fabric embedded inside. As a result, two types of strip-like bodies are formed: a strip-like body 8b made only of canvas fabric, and a strip-like body 8a with a flat elastic band 9 longer than the base fabric embedded inside. Then, as shown in Figure 13(c), the strip 8a with the elastic band 9 inside is placed on top of the strip 8b made of canvas fabric and sewn together as one piece (see the three parallel seam lines in the longitudinal direction).

[0044] As a result, two sets of rigid and strong strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b of a predetermined width, made by folding the canvas fabric in three, are superimposed and integrated. Furthermore, a flat elastic band 9 is sewn into one of the strip-shaped bodies 8a, forming a strong and flexible strip-shaped second connecting member 8. In the case of this strip-shaped second connecting member 8, the flat elastic band 9 is formed to be longer than the canvas fabric strips, so as shown in Figure 13(c), in the finished state, both ends of the flat elastic band 9 protrude by a predetermined length from both the left and right ends.

[0045] These flat rubber portions 9,9 of predetermined length on both the left and right ends are superimposed on each other while the protective device body 5 is bent into a U-shape in cross-section and protruding to the outside by a predetermined distance from the upper and lower open ends of the flat cylindrical second connecting member mounting portion 52. The superimposed portion is then bent into a U-shape at one end, and the middle (leaving the flat rubber portions 9,9 of predetermined length on each end) is sewn together to form a ring-shaped connection for the entire strip-shaped second connecting member 8. After that, the completed strip-shaped second connecting member 8 is slid 180 degrees within the second connecting member mounting portion 52 so that the connecting portion 9a of the flat rubber 9,9 and both ends of the strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b are not visible, so that the connecting portion 9a of the flat rubber 9,9 and both ends of the strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b are positioned on the side of the U-shaped bent portion of the protective device body 5 (see Figure 5 and the state shown in Figures 21 to 22 of the sewing process described later).

[0046] As a result, in the parts where the upper and lower ends of the open side of the second connecting member mounting part 52 (the upper and lower ends of the open side of the entire four fingers B of the protective device body 5 excluding the thumb A) are connected to each other, as shown in detail in Figures 2 and 6, only the part covered by the base fabric of the strip-shaped body 8a with the flat rubber 9 inside is exposed, and the connecting part 9a of the flat rubber 9,9 and both ends of the strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b are not visible at all, resulting in a very good appearance (see Figures 1, 2, 6, and 7).

[0047] Furthermore, the strip-shaped second connecting member 8, which connects the upper and lower ends of the open side of the second connecting member storage section 52 (the upper and lower ends of the open side of the entire four fingers B of the protective device body 5 excluding the thumb A), is constructed by overlapping and integrating two sets of strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b of a predetermined width, which have high rigidity and strength due to being made by folding canvas fabric in three (a four-layer structure of canvas fabric). Moreover, an elastic flat rubber 9 is sewn into one of the strip-shaped bodies 8a, so that the entire strip-shaped connecting member 8 is strong and flexible.

[0048] Furthermore, the band-shaped connecting member 8, having the same configuration, is housed in an annular band structure within the second connecting member mounting section 52, which has a predetermined front-to-back width and is a bag structure made of two layers of strong and flexible canvas fabric, excluding the thumb A. Therefore, in this configuration, the entire four finger sections B of the protective device body 5, excluding the thumb A, are inserted into the mounting section (finger wrapping section) of the protective device body 5, which is attached to the phalangeal portions of the entire four finger sections B excluding the thumb A. The mounting section (finger wrapping section) of the protective device body 5 has a predetermined width in the front-to-back direction and is securely wrapped by the second connecting member storage section 52, which has a bag structure made of two layers of strong and flexible canvas fabric, and the annular, band-shaped second connecting member 8 housed within this second connecting member storage section 52. At the same time, the second connecting member 8 acts as a core material, forming a finger insertion opening 3 with high shape stability through which the remaining entire finger sections B, excluding the thumb A, are inserted into the mounting section (finger wrapping section).

[0049] In other words, the second connecting member 8, which is housed in the second connecting member storage section 52 of the bag structure, is flat and strip-shaped overall, but is constructed by integrating two sets of highly rigid and strong strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b made by folding canvas fabric into three. It has sufficient flexibility while being extremely rigid overall.

[0050] Therefore, when the entire four finger portions B of the protective device body 5, excluding the thumb A, are inserted, the attachment portion (finger wrapping portion) of the protective device body 5, which is attached to the phalangeal portion of the entire four finger portions B excluding the thumb A, functions as a core material with the second connecting member 8 acting as a core material, and the insertion opening portion 3 of the entire four finger portions B excluding the thumb A, which is formed in the same portion, also has high shape stability and fixing function (wrapping function).

[0051] Furthermore, the second connecting member 8, which consists of the two sets of strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b described above and functions as a core material, has a stretchable flat rubber 9 sewn into one of the strip-shaped bodies 8a, and a predetermined length of flat rubber 9, 9 remains in the middle of its annular portion. Therefore, the connecting portion of the flat rubber 9 stretches and contracts freely and functions as a stretchable elastic member, so the annular second connecting member storage portion 52, which houses the strip-shaped second connecting member 8, has sufficient freedom in its opening diameter and can freely accommodate the size of the worker's hand when worn, resulting in a good fit.

[0052] In other words, the second connecting member 8 is a strong, flexible, strip-shaped connecting member 8, while possessing a predetermined level of elasticity as a whole. Therefore, the inner diameter of the insertion opening portion of the entire four finger sections B, excluding the thumb A, can naturally expand or contract according to the size of the worker's hand, allowing for arbitrary adjustments.

[0053] Furthermore, as described above, the first connecting member 7, which is located on the wrist-wrapping side of the wrist attachment portion and forms the wrist insertion opening 4, is composed of first and second hook-and-loop fasteners 7a and 7b, which allow for adjustment of the connecting strength between them. Therefore, with the configuration of the protective device body 5 of this embodiment, it becomes unnecessary to create multiple types of products according to the size of the worker's hand, as is the case with glove-type protective devices (no size setting required), and due to its structure, it can be used for either the left or right hand, making it highly versatile.

[0054] Furthermore, the shock-absorbing material mounting sections 53 and 54 are provided between the first connecting member mounting section 51 and the second connecting member mounting section 52 in the front-to-back direction of the protective device body 5, which is made of two pieces of fabric that are folded back in a U shape from the front side (the entire four fingers B side) to the rear side (the wrist C side) and overlapped in a U shape with the outer fabric and the inner fabric. A shock-absorbing material 6 of a predetermined size, shape, and thickness as shown in Figure 14 is placed between the two canvas fabrics in the front-to-back direction, and a seam is made in the front-to-back direction, so that two sets of trapezoidal cross-sectional protrusions of a predetermined width are formed on both the upper and lower sides of the two canvas fabrics in the front-to-back direction.

[0055] With this configuration, a highly shaped shock-absorbing section is formed on both the upper and lower sides of the entire middle section of the protective device body 5, which has a U-shaped cross-section, by two sets of trapezoidal cross-sectional protrusions. Furthermore, when the shock-absorbing section (shock-absorbing material 6 portion) is divided into multiple sections front to back, thin grooves are created between them, which increases the flexibility of the protective device body during work, resulting in improved shock absorption function, as well as better fit and workability.

[0056] With a work hand protector of this configuration, for example as shown in Figure 1, when the connection of the first connecting member 7 is released and the first finger insertion opening 2 for inserting the thumb A is open, the hand is inserted into the U-shaped protective body 5, and the entire four fingers B other than the thumb A protrude from the front finger insertion opening 3 and the thumb A protrudes from the thumb A insertion opening 1. In response, the entire back and palm of the hand are appropriately housed inside the U-shaped protective body 5. In the same state, the first connecting member 7 provided at the wrist insertion opening 4 side end of the protective body 5 is connected in an appropriate tightening state. As a result, the back and palm of the worker's hand are reliably protected by the two sets of upper and lower protective parts of the U-shaped protective body 5, which has shock-absorbing materials 6,6 inside, making it easier to hold heavy objects on the palm side, and also reliably absorbing impacts on the back of the hand.

[0057] <Sewing process for protective equipment body 5> Next, Figures 8 to 22 show the sewing process (manufacturing process) of the protective device body 5 in the hand protective device according to the embodiment of the present invention. As described above, in the embodiment of the present invention, as an example, the protective device body 5 and the first and second connecting members 7 and 8 are basically made of a cloth material (canvas fabric).

[0058] (1) First sewing process First, as shown in Figure 8, a piece of disposable fabric (main fabric) 10 of a predetermined thickness is prepared to form the main body 5 portion of the hand protection device 1. This disposable fabric 10 is folded in half vertically, as shown in Figure 20, and then folded horizontally in a U-shape, as shown in Figures 21 and 22. In this state, it is made of a slightly elongated rectangular piece of fabric large enough to reliably cover and effectively protect the entire back and palm of the worker's hand, as shown in Figure 1. In the layout shown, the upper end of this disposable fabric 10 corresponds to the worker's wrist C, and the lower end corresponds to the entire finger portion B of the worker's four fingers excluding the thumb.

[0059] Then, in the same state, first, both the left and right ends of the rectangular fabric 10 are folded inward by a predetermined width as shown in the figure. The folded portions on both the left and right ends are indicated by reference numerals 10a, 10a.

[0060] (2) Second sewing process Next, in the state shown in Figure 8, the upper end of the main fabric 10 is further folded inward by a predetermined width, as shown in Figure 9. The folded portion of the upper end is indicated by reference numeral 10b. Then, in the state shown in Figure 9, stitches are applied to each of the folded portions 10a, 10a and 10b.

[0061] (3) Third sewing process Next, the distribution fabric 10 on the upper end side of Figure 9, which has the folded portion 10b, is further folded inward by a predetermined width larger than the folded portions 10a, 10a, and 10b, as shown in Figure 10. The folded portion thus formed is indicated by reference numeral 10c. This folded portion 10C is for forming the first connecting member attachment portion 51 described above.

[0062] (4) Fourth sewing process In the folded portion 10c of a predetermined width formed in this way, of the two upper and lower fabrics, as shown in Figure 11 (showing the front side) and Figure 12 (showing the back side), a first hook-and-loop fastener (loop portion) 7a, which is folded back in a U shape by approximately half its length and located on the right side (right side when viewed from the front side), is sewn over the entire length of the lower fabric. On the other hand, as shown in Figure 11 (showing the front side) and Figure 12 (showing the back side), the base end portion of a second hook-and-loop fastener (hook portion) 7b, which is located on the left side (left side when viewed from the front side) and whose tip extends straight to the left by a predetermined length, is sewn to the back side of the upper fabric.

[0063] In this state, the fastener surface (joining surface) of the first hook-and-loop fastener 7a is formed on the back side of the fabric surface as shown in Figure 11, as shown in Figure 12, and the fastener surface of the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b, which serves as the operating member when connecting, is formed on the front side as shown in Figure 11. As a result, when worn on the worker's hand as shown in Figure 1, the fastener surface at the tip of the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b, which extends straight to the side for a predetermined length, corresponds to the fastener surface of the first fastener 7a on the back side of the fabric surface, and they perform a mutual connecting action.

[0064] (5) Fifth sewing process In this way, once the first hook-and-loop fastener 7a is attached to both the front and back surfaces of the lower fabric and the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b is attached to the back surface of the upper fabric, the strip-shaped second connecting member 8 is then formed to be stored in the second connecting member storage section 52 in an annular structure.

[0065] The strip-shaped second connecting member 8 is constructed as shown, for example, in Figures 13(a) to (c).

[0066] Specifically, as shown in Figure 13(a), two sets of rectangular base fabrics are prepared, each made of the same canvas fabric as the protective device body 5, and of sufficient length to encircle the outer circumference of the proximal phalanges of all four fingers B, excluding the thumb A, in the wearing state shown in Figure 1. Next, as shown in Figure 13(b), these two sets of base fabrics are each folded into thirds to form a strip-like body of the required length and a predetermined width corresponding to the width of the cylindrical part of the second connecting member storage section 52.

[0067] As a result, two sets of rigid and strong strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b of a predetermined width, made by folding the canvas fabric in three, are superimposed and integrated.

[0068] (6) The sixth sewing process On the other hand, in conjunction with the formation of the strip-shaped second connecting member 8, an impact-absorbing material 6 having a predetermined front-to-back width, a predetermined left-to-right length, and a predetermined thickness is prepared, for example, as shown in Figure 14. This impact-absorbing material 6 can be made of sponge material, pad material, or other various impact-absorbing materials (elastic members). The front-to-back width of this shock-absorbing material 6 corresponds, as a whole, to the front-to-back width of the shock-absorbing material installation sections 53 and 54 shown in Figures 2 and 3 above.

[0069] (7) The seventh sewing process Next, as shown in Figure 15, the strip-shaped connecting member 8 shown in Figure 13(c) is positioned at the bottom of the upper half (middle line) of the canvas fabric (main fabric) 10 in the state shown in Figure 12, such that the protrusion amounts of the flat rubber 9 on both the left and right ends are equal.

[0070] (8) Eighth sewing process Next, from the state shown in Figure 15, the lower half of the canvas fabric 10 is folded upward and overlapped with the other half, enclosing the strip-shaped connecting member 8 shown in Figure 13(c) inside. Then, stitches are made along the upper and lower lines of the strip-shaped second connecting member 8 to sew the two folded canvas fabrics together. The stitching of the canvas fabrics along the upper and lower lines of the second connecting member 8 is done with a vertical width slightly larger than the vertical width of the second connecting member 8. As a result, a cylindrical second connecting member storage section 52 is formed in the folded-over portion of the canvas fabric 10 to house the strip-shaped second connecting member 8, and the strip-shaped second connecting member 8 is stored in a slidable state within the second connecting member storage section 52.

[0071] (9) The ninth sewing process Next, from the state in Figure 16 to the state in Figure 17, the upper half of the canvas fabric 10, which was folded upward in the state in Figure 16, is folded downward again, using the upper line (seam) of the second connecting member 8 as the starting point. Then, the shock-absorbing material 6 shown in Figure 14 is placed between the second connecting member storage section 52 and the first connecting member storage section 51 on the canvas fabric 10 side that has been opened up as a result.

[0072] (10) The tenth sewing process Next, the upper fabric (folded-over piece) of the folded portion 10c that constitutes the first connecting member attachment part 51 is opened upwards, as shown in Figure 18, from the state in Figure 17. This opens the lower fabric surface of the folded portion 10c to which the first hook-and-loop fastener 7a is sewn.

[0073] (11) The 11th sewing process Next, from the state in Figure 18 to the state in Figure 19, the canvas fabric (upper fabric in the two-piece fabric state) 10, which was folded downwards using the upper line (seam) of the second connecting member 8 as a starting point in the states in Figures 17 and 18, is folded again and placed on top of the impact absorbing material 6 and the lower fabric of the folded portion 10c, which were placed on the upper surface of the lower canvas fabric in Figure 17.

[0074] (12) Sewing process number 12 Next, from the state in Figure 19 to the state in Figure 20, the upper fabric (folded piece) of the folded portion 10c that constitutes the first connecting member attachment portion 51, which was folded back upward and opened in the states in Figures 18 and 19, is folded back to its original state and overlapped with the tip portion of the canvas fabric (upper fabric in the two-piece fabric state) 10 that was folded back in Figure 19. A left-right seam 10d is made in the overlapped portion to integrate the fabric layers (three pieces, top and bottom) in the overlapping portion. At the same time, a similar seam 10e is made on the folded portion side. These seams 10d and 10e are formed along the upper and lower widths of the first and second hook-and-loop fasteners 7a and 7b, respectively.

[0075] Furthermore, in the same state, the canvas fabrics on both sides of the shock-absorbing material 6 (the upper fabric and the lower fabric) are sewn together to securely fix the shock-absorbing material 6 to the interior.

[0076] As a result, as shown in Figure 20, the entire structure is folded into a flattened U-shape from the bottom to the top, with shock-absorbing material 6,6 embedded between the two canvas fabrics in the upper and lower middle section formed by this folding. A first connecting member 7, consisting of first and second hook-and-loop fasteners 7a, 7b, is attached to the first connecting member attachment section 51 at the upper end, and a strip-shaped second connecting member 8 is slidably stored in the second connecting member storage section 51 at the lower end, forming a protective device body 5 with a predetermined front-to-back width and predetermined left-to-right length. However, in the state shown in Figure 20, the flat rubber portions 9, 9 at both ends of the strip-shaped second connecting member 8 are not yet connected to each other and are not yet formed into an annular band.

[0077] (13) The 13th sewing process Next, as shown in Figure 21, the protective device body 5 of Figure 20, which is in the horizontally elongated state, is first folded into a U-shape in cross-section, with the middle half in the left-right direction as the folding position. In Figure 21, for example, the right half is folded to the left in a U-shape, but the same applies in the reverse direction. Then, in this folded state, the flat rubber portions 9,9 that protrude outward by a predetermined length at both ends of the second connecting member 8 are overlapped, and the overlapped portion is bent into a U-shape at one end, and then the middle (leaving the flat rubber portions 9,9 of a predetermined length at each end) is sewn together to form the strip-shaped second connecting member 8 as a whole into an annular band of a predetermined length with an expandable portion in the middle.

[0078] (14) Sewing process 14 Subsequently, as shown in Figure 22, the second connecting member 8, whose connection is complete, is slid 180 degrees within the cylindrical second connecting member storage section 52 so that the connecting portions 9a of the flat rubber 9,9 and both ends of the strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b are not visible from the outside, so that the connecting portions 9a of the flat rubber 9,9 and both ends of the strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b are positioned on the side of the U-shaped folded portion of the protective device body 5 (see the cross-sectional state in Figure 5 above).

[0079] As a result, in the parts where the upper and lower ends of the open portion of the second connecting member mounting portion 52 (the upper and lower ends of the open portion on the side of all four fingers B excluding the thumb A of the protective device body 5) are connected to each other, as shown in detail in the configuration of Figures 2 and 6 above, only the portion covered by the base fabric of the strip-shaped body 8a with the flat rubber 9 inside is exposed, and the connecting portions 9a at both ends of the flat rubber 9,9 and the ends of the strip-shaped bodies 8a and 8b are completely hidden, resulting in a very aesthetically pleasing appearance.

[0080] In this state, the fastener surface (loop structure surface) of the first hook-and-loop fastener 7a, which serves as the fixing surface, and the fastener surface (hook structure surface) of the second hook-and-loop fastener 7b, which serves as the operating piece, are both located on the surface side shown in Figure 20.

[0081] In this way, the protective device body 5 with the configuration shown in Figures 1 to 7 above is constructed. As can be understood from the first to 14 sewing processes, the protective device body 5 of the embodiment of the present invention is basically made by folding a single canvas fabric 10 of a predetermined thickness, predetermined size, and predetermined shape into a rectangle of a predetermined length, forming a first connecting member attachment part 51 and a second connecting member storage part 52 at both the front and rear ends, attaching the first connecting member 7 to the first connecting member attachment part 51, and storing the second connecting member 8 in the second connecting member storage part 52, thereby forming a thumb insertion opening part 2 that substantially functions as a glove, insertion openings 3 for all four fingers other than the thumb, and a wrist insertion opening part 4, although the structure and form differ considerably. In particular, the thumb insertion opening part 2 only needs to utilize the space between the first connecting member 7 and the second connecting member 8, and there is no need to adopt a special finger hole configuration as an independent finger insertion opening part.

[0082] Therefore, its structure is simple, sewing is extremely easy, and it can be manufactured at low cost.

[0083] (modified version) The embodiments of the present invention described above are subject to various modifications. For example, the canvas fabric forming the protective device body 5 can be changed to, for example, a desired synthetic fiber material, synthetic leather, or genuine leather.
