AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The existing connectors for electrically connecting in-vehicle devices can pinch the insulation of electric wires during assembly, compromising their insulating performance.

Method used

A connector design that houses the electric wire with a housing and cover, where the housing surrounds the wire and has a first approach portion, and the cover has a restricting portion, ensuring the wire is not pinched during assembly, with the housing and cover components positioned to prevent interference.

Benefits of technology

The design allows for assembly without pinching the wire, maintaining reliable insulation performance by preventing the wire from being caught between components, thus stabilizing the electric wire and suppressing external force transmission.

Abstract

One embodiment provides a connector that can be assembled without pinching the wires. [Solution] A connector according to one embodiment comprises a wire, a first component for housing the wire, and a second component attached to the first component so as to face it in a second direction that intersects the first direction in which the wire extends. The first component houses the wire so as to surround its outer surface and has a wire housing portion that opens toward the second component, and a first approach portion that extends toward the wire housing portion in a third direction that intersects both the first and second directions. The second component is positioned so as to face the wire housing portion in a second direction and has a restricting portion that restricts the movement of the wire in the second direction, and a second approach portion that extends toward the restricting portion in a third direction and is positioned closer to the first approach portion in the second direction. The first approach portion is closer to the second component than the wire in the second direction, and the wire housing portion is formed deeper in the second direction than the diameter of the wire.
