Abstract

Dibutylhydroxytoluene, which is blended into ophthalmic solutions as an antioxidant, decreases in content in the ophthalmic solution due to its volatility, adsorption, decomposition, etc. By blending dibutylhydroxytoluene with one or more thickeners selected from the group consisting of xanthan gum, gelatin, and carrageenan, an ophthalmic solution is provided in which the decrease in the dibutylhydroxytoluene content is suppressed.
