Abstract

To improve usability of an automated external defibrillator (AED).SOLUTION: An AED is configured so as to automatically carry out defibrillation processing for giving an electric shock for defibrillation to the heart of a subject. The AED acquires a biological signal of the subject through an electrode pad, determines whether or not the defibrillation processing is required on the basis of the biological signal, and determines whether or not the electrode pad is mounted on the subject, and whether or not a predetermined operation has been carried out for the AED. In the case where the defibrillation processing is required, the defibrillation processing is cancelled while the on-state of the power of the AED is maintained according to the result of the determination on whether or not the electrode pad is mounted on the subject and on whether or not the predetermined operation has been carried out for the AED.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
