SCALE INHIBITOR

Abstract

The present invention provides a broad-spectrum scale inhibitor formulation for the petrochemical industry. The invention consists of a scale inhibitor based on sulfonated polycarboxylate mixed with saturated sodium brine with a density of 1.20 g / cm³, which effectively prevents the deposition of CaCO₃, CaSO₄, BaSO₄, iron oxide (Fe₂O₃), and other types of scale such as FeCO₃, iron sulfides (FeS, FeS₂), silica, and clays under a wide variety of operating conditions. The functions demonstrated by the invention include at least inhibiting the deposition of CaCO₃, CaSO₄, BaSO₄, iron oxide (Fe₂O₃), and other scales such as FeCO₃ and iron sulfides (FeS, FeS₂), dispersing iron oxides and silica, and exhibiting high effectiveness in sludge and clay control.Thus, the advantages of the present invention are that it is thermally stable at 200 °C, allows for the effective treatment of different types of scale with the same product, has excellent tolerance to brines with high calcium content, is biodegradable, has lower deferred production losses due to continuous cleaning, and allows for the assurance of production for a longer time, due to the preventive effects.
