Abstract

A chair (1) for the seated user comprising a support structure (2), intended to rest against the floor and provided with a seat (21); a backrest (3), mounted on the support structure (2) and provided with a first half-shell (31) (having a peripheral edge (310) and having a first face (311) and an opposing second face (312)) and a second half-shell (32) (mechanically mounted on the second face (312) of said first half-shell (31), defining with it a housing volume (V). The chair (1) also comprises a cover element (4), which includes upholstery (40) mounted to enclose at least the first face (311) of the first half-shell (31), and a retaining band (42), fixed along the peripheral edge (400) of said cover (4).The first half-housing (31) has, on its second face (312), a plurality of first retaining elements (5) and a plurality of second retaining elements (6), which are interposed between the first retaining elements (5) and the peripheral edge (310) of the first half-housing (31). The second retaining elements (6), together with the first retaining elements (5), define a housing channel (7) into which the retaining strip (42) of the cover element (4) is inserted, to at least temporarily secure the retaining element (4) to the first half-housing of the backrest (3) before or during connection between the first half-housing (31) and the second half-housing (32).
