Method and device for waterproofing the bottom of a water basin

Abstract

A method for waterproofing the lower part (3) of a water basin (1) provided with slopes (2) made of concrete or natural soil, comprising spreading a substrate (4) of inert mineral materials over the lower part (3) of the water basin (1) comprising the following steps: - making respective grooves (6) in the respective interface zones (11) between the substrate (4) and the slopes (2) of the water basin (1), wherein each groove extends longitudinally along a respective slope (2); - spreading an impermeable cover element (5) over the substrate (4) and inserting the impermeable cover element (5) into said respective grooves (6), forming a respective fold (7) in each groove (6); - fix the waterproof cover element (5) to the slopes (2) of the water basin (1) using fixing elements (16). A waterproofing device for waterproofing a lower part (3) of a body of water (1) comprising a waterproof cover element (5), configured to be spread over a substrate (4) made of inert mineral materials spread on the lower part (3) of a water basin (1), comprising at least a support layer (13) and a waterproof layer made of composite material (14), characterized in that a portion of said waterproof cover element is folded to form a fold (7), which can be inserted into a groove (6) extending into an interface zone between the bottom (3) and the slopes (2) of the water basin (1).
