These various types of communication modules can be integrated into a single component (e.g., a single chip) or implemented as multiple separate components (e.g., multiple chips). The wireless communication module (192) can verify or authenticate the electronic device (101) within a communication network such as the first network (198) or the second network (199) by using subscriber information (e.g., an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI)) stored in the subscriber identification module (196).
[0042] The wireless communication module (192) can support 5G networks and next-generation communication technologies following the 4G network, such as NR access technology (new radio access technology). [0045] At least some of the above components can be interconnected and exchange signals (e.g., commands or data) with each other via a communication method between peripheral devices (e.g., a bus, GPIO (general purpose input and output), SPI (serial peripheral interface), or MIPI (mobile industry processor interface)).
[0046] According to one embodiment, commands or data may be transmitted or received between the electronic device (101) and an external electronic device (104) via a server (108) connected to a second network (199). Each of the external electronic devices (102 or 104) may be the same or a different type of device as the electronic device (101). According to one embodiment, all or part of the operations executed in the electronic device (101) may be executed in one or more of the external electronic devices (102, 104, or 108). For example, when the electronic device (101) is to perform a certain function or service automatically or in response to a request from a user or another device, the electronic device (101) may, instead of or in addition to executing the function or service itself, request one or more external electronic devices to perform the function or at least a part of the service. One or more external electronic devices that receive the request may execute at least a portion of the requested function or service, or an additional function or service related to the request, and transmit the result of the execution to the electronic device (101). The electronic device (101) may process the result as is or additionally and provide it as at least a portion of a response to the request. For this purpose, cloud computing, distributed computing, mobile edge computing (MEC), or client-server computing technology may be used, for example. The electronic device (101) may provide an ultra-low latency service by using distributed computing or mobile edge computing, for example. In another embodiment, the external electronic device (104) may include an Internet of Things (IoT) device. The server (108) may be an intelligent server utilizing machine learning and / or a neural network. According to one embodiment, the external electronic device (104) or the server (108) may be included in the second network (199).The electronic device (101) can be applied to intelligent services (e.g., smart home, smart city, smart car, or healthcare) based on 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology.
[0047] A user of an electronic device (101) can utilize emergency rescue services by sending a message or making a phone call to an emergency number. In other words, the emergency rescue services can be provided in areas or situations where the electronic device (101) can utilize a wireless communication network (e.g., a 4G network, a 5G network, or WiFi). However, in areas or situations where the wireless communication network is unavailable, the electronic device (101) cannot provide the emergency rescue services. Satellite communication (hereinafter, “satellite communication”) can be utilized to provide the emergency rescue services even in areas or situations where the wireless communication network is unavailable. The electronic device (101) can provide the emergency rescue services through satellite communication.
[0048] The electronic device (101) may establish a connection with the satellite in order to perform the satellite communication. For example, the electronic device (101) may establish a connection with the satellite through a communication circuit (e.g., the communication module (190) of FIG. 1) for performing communication with the satellite. The communication circuit may refer to a module for radiating a signal provided from the processor (120) of the electronic device (101). For example, the processor (120) may be referred to as a modem. The electronic device (101) may identify the strength of the signal radiated through the communication circuit through a sensor (e.g., the sensor module (176) of FIG. 1). In order for the electronic device (101) to perform the satellite communication, the strength may be required to be greater than or equal to a reference strength. However, since the signal is radiated, it may be difficult for the electronic device (101) to accurately identify the direction in which the intensity is strongest through the sensor. In addition, since the direction identified by the sensor (e.g., the direction in which a specific surface of the electronic device (101) (e.g., the front surface where the display (160) is located)) faces) and the direction of the antenna (e.g., the antenna module (197) of FIG. 1) connected to the communication circuit of the electronic device (101) from which the signal is radiated (e.g., the direction in which the signal radiated through the antenna travels or the direction in which the mainlobe of the beam radiated through the antenna faces) do not match, it may be difficult to align the direction of the electronic device (101) and the position of the satellite.
[0049] Hereinafter, the electronic device and method according to the present disclosure can identify an azimuth angle and an elevation angle for the satellite based on the direction of the antenna with respect to the direction identified through the sensor of the electronic device (101). The electronic device and method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can provide a screen for adjusting the identified azimuth angle to be located within a first range. In addition, the electronic device and method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can provide a screen for adjusting the elevation angle to be located within a second range when a connection with the satellite is not established through the azimuth angle within the first range. Accordingly, the electronic device and method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can improve the directivity between the satellite and the electronic device by aligning the direction of the electronic device (101) and the position of the satellite, considering the second direction of the antenna with respect to the first direction identified through the sensor. In addition, the electronic device and method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can secure the stability of the connection between the satellite and the electronic device. The electronic device and method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can enable a user of the electronic device (101) to more intuitively obtain the directionality and stability by displaying a screen for adjusting the azimuth to be positioned within the first range and a screen for adjusting the elevation to be positioned within the second range.
[0050] The alignment may indicate positioning the direction of the electronic device (101) within a reference range and a position of the satellite. For example, the reference range may include a first range for an azimuth of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite and a second range for an elevation of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite. For example, the first range may indicate a range for the azimuth centered on the position of the satellite. For example, the second range may indicate a range for the elevation centered on the position of the satellite. In other words, the first range and the second range may indicate a virtual area defined around the actual position of the satellite. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the first range may indicate a range for the azimuth centered on the direction of the electronic device (101). The direction of the electronic device (101) may indicate a direction identified based on the first direction of the sensor and the second direction of the antenna. For example, the second range may represent a range for the elevation angle centered on the direction of the electronic device (101). In other words, the first range and the second range may represent virtual areas defined centered on the direction of the electronic device (101). Hereinafter, in the present disclosure, for convenience of explanation, the first range and the second range are described as reference ranges centered on the position of the satellite.
[0051] For example, the azimuth (or the azimuth of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite) may represent the sum (or difference) between the angle between a vector projected onto a reference plane pointing in the direction of the electronic device (101) and a vector pointing in a reference direction (e.g., true north) and the angle between a vector projected onto the reference plane pointing in the direction of the satellite and a vector pointing in the reference direction. For example, the azimuth may represent the angle between a vector pointing in the direction of the electronic device (101) and a vector pointing in the direction of the satellite. For example, the reference plane may represent a horizontal plane including a vector pointing in the direction of the electronic device (101) and the reference direction. For example, the reference direction may include true north, magnetic north, or grid north. For example, the elevation angle (or the elevation angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite) may represent the difference between the angle between the direction of the electronic device (101) and the reference plane and the angle between a vector pointing to the position of the satellite and the reference plane.
[0052] In the above example, the azimuth and the elevation angles are exemplified as angles used to align the direction of the electronic device (101) and the position of the satellite, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device and method according to the embodiments of the present disclosure may use the first angle as the angular difference in a first direction defining the direction of the electronic device (101) and the position of the satellite, and the second angle as the angular difference in the first direction perpendicular to a plane including the first direction. In other words, the azimuth angle may be referred to as the first angle, and the elevation angle may be referred to as the second angle.
[0053] Hereinafter, FIG. 2 illustrates an example of a method for aligning the position of the satellite and the direction of the electronic device (101). For example, the direction of the electronic device (101) may represent a direction synthesized from the first direction identified through the sensor and the second direction of the antenna. The method for identifying the direction of the electronic device (101) is described in detail in FIGS. 6A to 6C and 7A to 7D.
[0054] Figure 2 illustrates an example of a method for aligning the position of a satellite and the orientation of an electronic device.
[0055] The method of FIG. 2 can be performed by the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1. For example, the screens (201, 202, 203) of FIG. 2 can be displayed through the display area of the display (160) of FIG. 1 (or the display (320) of FIG. 3). For example, the display of the screens (201, 202, 203) can be controlled by the processor (120).
[0056] Referring to FIG. 2, the electronic device (101) can display a first screen (201). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the first screen (201) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1).
[0057] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may execute a software application for connecting to the satellite. The software application for connecting to the satellite may be referred to as a software application for satellite communication or a satellite communication application. For example, the electronic device (101) may execute the software application based on at least a portion of a user's input. For example, each of the screens (201, 202, 203) may be referred to as a user interface (UI) for the software application.
[0058] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify the location of the satellite while the software application is running. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the location of the satellite through a software development kit (SDK) for supporting satellite communication services. The SDK is merely an example for convenience of description, and the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the location of the satellite can be identified through an application programming interface (API) called by the software application. The API can be included in the SDK. For example, the location of the satellite can be identified (or defined) based on a vector pointing in the direction of the satellite.
[0059] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify the difference between the position of the identified satellite and the direction of the electronic device (101). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the direction of the electronic device (101). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the first direction identified by a sensor included in the electronic device (101) and the second direction indicated by an antenna of the electronic device (101). The second direction in which the first direction is taken into account (or a direction in which the first direction and the second direction are synthesized) can be referred to as the direction of the electronic device (101). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the azimuth and the elevation angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite based on the direction.
[0060] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the azimuth is within a first range. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the azimuth is included in a first range (217). For example, the first range (217) may represent a reference range for the azimuth for the electronic device (101) to establish a connection (or perform communication) with the satellite. In other words, if the azimuth is located within the first range (217), the electronic device (101) may have a relatively high probability of establishing a connection with the satellite.
[0061] For example, the first range (217) may be identified based on information related to an antenna of the electronic device (101). The antenna may be connected to a communication circuit of the electronic device (101) (e.g., the communication module (190) of FIG. 1) and may include an antenna for communicating with the satellite. For example, the information may include at least one of the number of antennas, the directivity of the antenna, the intensity of a signal radiated through the antenna, or the frequency band of the signal. In the following disclosure, for convenience of explanation, the length of the first range (217) is described as an example when it is 40° (e.g., -20° to 20°). For example, when the first range (217) is -20° to 20°, an intermediate value of 0° may indicate a direction in which the satellite is actually located. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. The length may be referred to as a size.
[0062] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a first screen (201) based on identifying that the azimuth is outside the first range (217). For example, the first screen (201) may represent a screen for adjusting the azimuth outside the first range (217) to be positioned within the first range (217). For example, the first screen (201) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position. For example, the first screen (201) may include a visual object (215) indicating a designated range extending from the reference position and including the first range (217). The visual object (215) indicating the designated range may be displayed in a fixed state on the first screen (201). For example, even if the electronic device (101) moves in a direction indicated by the visual object (230) and the visual object (240), the visual object (215) may be displayed in a fixed state so as to face a specific part (e.g., the upper part) of the display of the electronic device (101). This is because the specified range and the first range (217) are areas identified based on the actual position of the satellite. The first screen (201) may move the visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite according to the movement of the electronic device (101). The specified range may represent a wider area than the first range (217). In other words, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the specified range and is not displayed on the first screen (201). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object representing the first range (217). For example, the first screen (201) may include a visual object (220) representing the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101).Within the first screen (201), the relative position of the satellite may be located outside the area of the visual object (215) indicating the specified range. For example, the first screen (201) may include a visual object (230) that includes the area of the specified range and extends to the visual object (220) within a circle in which the visual object (220) moves. The visual object (230) may indicate a direction for changing the position of the satellite within the specified range (or the first range (217)). For example, referring to the first screen (201), if the visual object (220) indicating the position of the satellite is displayed on the right side outside the specified range, the visual object (230) may include an indicator pointing to the right (or clockwise). In other words, the visual object (230) may represent a visual object for intuitively indicating the distance between the visual object (215) representing the specified range and the visual object (220) representing the position of the satellite. For example, the first screen (201) may include a visual object (240) that includes text that guides movement in the direction. In the example of FIG. 2, the visual object (240) of the first screen (201) may include the text (e.g., “Turn right to face the satellite”) that instructs to turn to the right (or clockwise).
[0063] Although not illustrated in FIG. 2, in response to the execution of the software application, the electronic device (101) may display an initial screen. For example, while the initial screen is displayed, the electronic device (101) may identify the location of the satellite and determine whether the azimuth of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite is within a first range (217). For example, the initial screen may include a screen for performing settings for performing a connection with the satellite through the software application. Alternatively, the initial screen may include a screen including visual objects other than the visual object (240) among the visual objects included in the first screen (201). In this case, the initial screen may include another visual object including text different from the visual object (240).
[0064] Referring to FIG. 2, the electronic device (101) can display a second screen (202). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1). The second screen (202) can indicate a screen that guides holding the orientation of the electronic device (101). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202) when, in a state where the first screen (201) is displayed, a visual object (220) indicating a relative position of the satellite according to movement of the electronic device (101) is positioned within a first range (217) of a visual object (215) indicating the specified range. The positioning of the visual object (220) within the first range (217) according to the above movement may indicate that the azimuth is located within the first range (217). In the example of Fig. 2, the movement may include a rotation toward the right (or clockwise).
[0065] Although omitted in FIG. 2, as illustrated in FIG. 8B below, when the azimuth is located within the specified range according to the movement of the electronic device (101), the electronic device (101) may display the first screen (201) of FIG. 2 further including a visual object (e.g., the visual object (250) of FIG. 8B) indicating that the azimuth is located within the specified range. In addition, according to one embodiment, the brightness of the visual object (215) indicating the specified range may be identified based on the visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite. For example, the brightness of the visual object (215) may become brighter as the visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite gets closer to within the first range (217). For example, the brightness may be the first brightness when the visual object (220) is located outside the specified range of the visual object (215). Additionally, the brightness may be a second brightness that is brighter than the first brightness when the visual object (220) is located within the specified range of the visual object (215) and outside the first range (217). Additionally, the brightness may be a third brightness that is brighter than the second brightness when the visual object (220) is located within the first range (217). In the above example, an example of changing the brightness of the visual object (215) is described, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may change the number of pixels of the display used to display the visual object (215) based on the visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite. For example, the electronic device (101) may increase the number of pixels used to display the visual object (215) as the visual object (220) gets closer to the first range (217).An increase in the above number may indicate that the visual object (215) is displayed in bold.
[0066] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202) based on the change in the azimuth angle outside the first range (217) to within the first range (217) according to the movement while the first screen (201) is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202) changed from the first screen (201). For example, the second screen (202) may represent a screen for guiding to hold the posture of the electronic device (101). The posture of the electronic device (101) may be related to the azimuth angle. For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position. For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (215) indicating a designated range extending from the reference position and including the first range (217). For example, the visual object (215) of the second screen (202) may be displayed brighter than the visual object (215) of the first screen (201). The visual object (215) indicating the specified range may be displayed in a fixed state on the second screen (202). The second screen (202) may have a visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite move according to the movement of the electronic device (101). The specified range may indicate an area wider than the first range (217). In other words, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the above-mentioned range and is not displayed on the second screen (202).However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object representing the first range (217). For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (220) representing the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). Within the second screen (202), the relative position of the satellite may be located within the first range (217) of the visual object (215) representing the designated range. For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (240) including text guiding to fix the posture of the electronic device (101). The posture of the electronic device (101) may be related to the azimuth that changes according to the movement. For example, the visual object (240) may include the text (e.g., "Hold this position to send and receive") that guides to hold the posture. In the example of the second screen (202), the visual object (240) may further include another text indicating a transmission / reception status, along with the text guiding to hold the posture. For example, in the example of the second screen (202), the visual object (240) may further include the other text (e.g., "sending messages") that indicates a transmission status.
[0067] Although not shown in FIG. 2, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify whether a connection for transmitting and receiving data with the satellite has been established while the second screen (202) is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the data has been transmitted or received through the communication circuit within a specified time period while the second screen (202) is displayed. For example, the specified time period may be identified based on at least one of the performance of the communication circuit, the area (or service area) in which the electronic device (101) is located, or the time required to transmit and receive the data, such as a message. For example, the better the performance of the communication circuit, the shorter the specified time period may be. Alternatively, the more traffic there is for satellite communication within the area, the longer the specified time period may be. Alternatively, the longer the time required to transmit and receive the data, the longer the specified time period may be. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto, and may be set to a specified value by a service provider providing emergency rescue services through satellite communication or a manufacturer of the electronic device (101). For example, the data may include a message transmitted through the satellite communication, location information of the electronic device (101), or information for connecting a call. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify that the connection is established when the data is transmitted or received. Alternatively, the electronic device (101) may identify that the connection is not established when the data is neither transmitted nor received. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object representing the data based on identifying that the connection is established.Alternatively, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range based on identifying that the connection has not been established.
[0068] In addition, although not illustrated in FIG. 2, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the first screen (201) and display the second screen (202) based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen (202) based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range while the software application is running.
[0069] Referring to FIG. 2, the electronic device (101) can display a third screen (203). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the third screen (203) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1). The third screen (203) can represent a screen for adjusting the altitude angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite.
[0070] For example, the electronic device (101) may determine whether the elevation angle is within the second range based on identifying that the connection is not established within the specified time while the second screen (202) is displayed. In other words, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203) for adjusting the elevation angle based on identifying that the connection with the satellite is not established despite the azimuth angle being within the first range. For example, the second range may represent a reference range for the elevation angle for the electronic device (101) to establish a connection (or perform communication) with the satellite. In other words, when the elevation angle is located within the second range, the electronic device (101) may have a relatively high possibility of establishing a connection with the satellite.
[0071] For example, the second range may be identified based on information related to an antenna of the electronic device (101). In the following disclosure, for the convenience of explanation, the length of the second range is described as an example when it is 20° (e.g., -10° to 10°). For example, when the second range is -10° to 10°, an intermediate value of 0° may indicate a direction in which the satellite is actually located. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. Additionally, while the present disclosure exemplifies a case where the length of the second range is shorter than the length of the first range, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the length of the second range may be equal to or longer than the length of the first range. The length may be referred to as size.
[0072] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203) based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203) that is changed from the second screen (202). For example, the third screen (203) may represent a screen for adjusting the elevation angle outside the second range to be positioned within the second range. For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position. For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (215) indicating a designated range extending from the reference position and including the first range (217). The visual object (215) indicating the designated range may be displayed in a fixed state on the third screen (203). The third screen (203) may move the visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite according to the movement of the electronic device (101). The specified range may represent a wider area than the first range (217). In other words, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the specified range and is not displayed on the third screen (203). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, a visual object (215) may further include another visual object representing a first range (217).For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (220) indicating a relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). Within the third screen (203), the relative position of the satellite may be located within a first range (217) of a visual object (215) indicating the specified range. For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (255) that guides a tilting direction for changing the elevation angle of the electronic device (101). For example, the visual object (255) may be displayed within the visual object (210) indicating the reference position. For example, the visual object (255) may be displayed in a state in which it is at least partially overlapped with the visual object (210). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the third screen (203) may display the visual object (255) in at least a portion of the third screen (203). Additionally, for example, the third screen (203) may display a visual object (255) together with a visual object (240) including text within an area where the visual object (240) including text is displayed. For example, the visual object (255) guiding the tilting direction may include an animation indicating the tilting direction. For example, the tilting direction may include up-tilting to increase the elevation angle or down-tilting to decrease the elevation angle. The third screen (203) may include a visual object (240) including text guiding another movement of the electronic device toward the tilting direction. For example, the other movement may include a rotation toward the tilting direction (e.g., forward (or up-tilting) or backward (or down-tilting)).In the example of FIG. 2, referring to the third screen (203), the visual object (240) may include the text (e.g., To improve satellite signal, tilt your phone backward) guiding the down-tilting to reduce the elevation angle.
[0073] In addition, although not illustrated in FIG. 2, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen (202) based on identifying that the elevation angle is within the second range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen (203) based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range while displaying the second screen (202). Thereafter, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen (202) changed from the third screen (203) based on the elevation angle being changed to within the second range according to the other movement while displaying the third screen (203). Alternatively, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the third screen (203) and maintain the state of displaying the second screen (202) based on identifying that the elevation angle is within the second range while displaying the second screen (202). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify whether a connection for transmitting and receiving data with the satellite has been established while displaying the second screen (202).
[0074] As described above, the electronic device and method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can provide a screen for adjusting the identified azimuth to be located within the first range. In addition, the electronic device and method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can provide a screen for adjusting the elevation angle to be located within the second range when a connection with the satellite is not established through the azimuth within the first range. Accordingly, the electronic device and method according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can improve the directivity between the satellite and the electronic device by aligning the direction of the electronic device (101) and the position of the satellite in consideration of the second direction of the antenna with respect to the first direction identified through the sensor.

The electronic device (101) can transmit a message to the satellite (370) using the first transmission power. The electronic device (101) can transmit the message to the satellite (370) based on the first transmission power obtained using the communication circuit configured to operate based on a voltage from a power supply circuit.
[0085] According to one embodiment, one or more instructions (or commands) representing operations and / or actions to be performed on data by the processor (120) of the electronic device (101) may be stored in the memory (130) of the electronic device (101). A set of one or more instructions may be referred to as a program, firmware, an operating system, a process, a routine, a sub-routine, and / or an application. Hereinafter, when an application is installed in the electronic device (e.g., the electronic device (101), it may mean that one or more instructions provided in the form of an application are stored in the memory (130), and that the one or more applications are stored in a format executable by the processor of the electronic device (e.g., a file having an extension designated by the operating system of the electronic device (101)).
[0086] Referring to FIG. 3, programs installed in the electronic device (101) may be classified into any one of different layers, including an application layer (340), a framework layer (350), and / or a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) (360), based on a target. For example, within the hardware abstraction layer (360), programs (e.g., drivers) designed to target the hardware of the electronic device (101) (e.g., the display (320), the sensor (310), and / or the communication circuit (330)) may be classified. For example, within the framework layer (350), programs (e.g., the angle identification unit (351), the satellite position tracking unit (353), and / or the signal quality identification unit (355)) designed to target at least one of the hardware abstraction layer (360) and / or the application layer (340) may be classified. Programs classified as a framework layer (350) can provide an executable API (application programming interface) based on other programs.
[0087] For example, within the application layer (340), programs designed to target users controlling the electronic device (101) may be classified. Examples of programs classified into the application layer (340) include, but are not limited to, a pointing application (341) and / or an emergency call (e.g., SOS) application (342). For example, the pointing application (341) may represent an application for identifying the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). For example, the emergency call application (342) may represent an application for providing emergency rescue services. The pointing application (341) or the emergency call application (342) may be included in the software application for connecting to the satellite of FIG. 2. The software application for connecting to the satellite may be referred to as a software application for satellite communication or a satellite communication application. For example, programs (e.g., software applications) classified as an application layer (340) can call an API to cause execution of functions supported by programs classified as a framework layer (350).
[0088] For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the azimuth and elevation angles of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite based on the execution of the angle identification unit (351). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the direction according to the orientation of the electronic device (101) or the direction (e.g., the first direction) toward which a specific surface (e.g., the front where the display (160) is positioned) of the electronic device (101) faces using the sensor (310). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the direction in which a signal radiated through an antenna connected to the communication circuit (330) propagates or the direction in which a mainlobe of a beam radiated through the antenna faces (e.g., the second direction). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the direction of the electronic device (101) in which the first direction and the second direction are synthesized based on the angle identification unit (351). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the azimuth and the elevation angle based on coordinate values indicating the direction of the electronic device (101). For example, the coordinate values can include a first coordinate that is an x-axis coordinate for indicating the first direction, a second coordinate that is a y-axis coordinate for indicating the first direction, and a third coordinate that is a z-axis coordinate for indicating the first direction. Specific details regarding a method for identifying the azimuth and the elevation angle are described below in FIGS. 6A to 6C and 7A to 7D.
[0089] For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the actual location of a satellite based on the execution of the satellite position tracking unit (353). For example, the electronic device (101) can obtain information on the actual location of the satellite through an API called based on the execution of the software application, such as the pointing application (341) or the emergency call application (342). For example, the API can be included in an SDK for supporting satellite communication services. The electronic device (101) can identify the actual location of the satellite based on the information.
[0090] For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the quality of a signal radiated from the electronic device (101) based on the execution of the signal quality identification unit (355). For example, the electronic device (101) can display a screen for attempting to establish a connection with the satellite (e.g., the second screen (202) of FIG. 2) or a screen for adjusting the elevation angle (e.g., the third screen (203) of FIG. 2) based on the quality of the signal. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the quality of the signal using the API called based on the software application. For example, the quality of the signal can be distinguished into a specified number of levels. For example, the specified number of levels can include five levels. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto.
[0091] Referring to FIG. 3, according to one embodiment, an electronic device (101) may communicate with a satellite (370) using a communication circuit (330). The satellite (370) may include at least one of a processor (380) and a communication circuit (390). Within the satellite (370), the processor (380) and the communication circuit (390) may be electrically and / or operatively connected to each other by an electronic component such as a communication bus. Each of the processor (380) and the communication circuit (390) within the satellite (370) may correspond to each of the processor (120) and the communication circuit (330) within the electronic device (101). To reduce repetition of explanation, descriptions of the processor (380) and the communication circuit (390) that overlap with the descriptions of the processor (120) and the communication circuit (330) within the electronic device (101) may be omitted.
[0092] FIG. 4 illustrates an example of a network environment including an electronic device and a satellite. The electronic device (101) of FIG. 4 may include the electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 to 3 . The satellite (370) of FIG. 4 may include the satellite (370) of FIG. 3 . FIG. 4 illustrates an example of a network environment (400) including an electronic device (101) and a satellite (370).
[0093] Referring to the network environment (400) of FIG. 4, the electronic device (101) may establish a connection with a satellite (370). For example, the connection between the electronic device (101) and the satellite (370) may be referred to as a service link. For example, the electronic device (101) may establish the connection with the satellite (370) via the communication circuit (330). Furthermore, referring to the network environment (400), the gateway (410) may establish a connection with the satellite (370). The connection between the gateway (410) and the satellite (370) may be referred to as a feeder link. For example, the feeder link may be established based on a relatively wider frequency range and / or wider frequency band than the service link. For example, the gateway (410) may be referred to as a ground station.
[0094] For example, the gateway (410) may be connected to the server (420). For example, the gateway (410) may be connected to the server (420) based on a designated protocol. For example, the server (420) may be connected to an external electronic device (430), a map application (440), and an emergency service provider (ESP) (450). For example, the server (420) may provide a location sharing service or an ESP integration service (e.g., a satellite communication service) for emergency rescue using information acquired from a satellite (370) through the gateway (410). The satellite communication service is merely exemplary, and the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the server (420) may provide a message to the external electronic device (430) via the satellite (370) to notify of an emergency situation. Alternatively, for example, the server (420) may provide location information (e.g., GPS) acquired from a satellite (370) to a map application (440). In other words, the server (420) may provide a location sharing service by providing information acquired from a satellite (370) to an external electronic device (430) and a map application (440). Alternatively, for example, the server (420) may provide information acquired from a satellite (370) to an ESP (450). Although one ESP (450) is illustrated in FIG. 4, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the server (420) may provide the information to a plurality of ESPs (450). The ESP (450) may provide the information acquired through the server (420) to public safety answering points (PSAPs) (455). PSAP (455) may represent a node where emergency / non-emergency calls originate.
[0095] Referring to the above, the electronic device (101) can provide a satellite communication service, including an emergency rescue service, to the user by establishing a connection with a satellite (370). At this time, in order to smoothly provide the satellite communication service, a stable connection between the electronic device (101) and the satellite (370) may be required. For the stable connection, the direction of the electronic device (101) and the position of the satellite (370) need to be aligned (or matched). The electronic device (101) can perform more efficient and accurate alignment by providing screens including the screens (201, 202, 203) of FIG. 2 through a software application. Specific details regarding a method for performing the alignment described above are described below through the method of FIG. 5.
[0096] Figure 5 illustrates an example of an operational flow for a method for aligning the position of a satellite and the orientation of an electronic device.
[0097] The satellite of FIG. 5 may include the satellite (370) of FIG. 3. The electronic device of FIG. 5 may include the electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 to 4. The method of FIG. 5 may be performed by the electronic device (101). For example, at least one operation of the method may be controlled by the processor (120).
[0098] Referring to FIG. 5, in operation (500), the electronic device (101) may execute a software application. For example, the electronic device (101) may execute the software application based on at least a portion of a user's input. For example, the software application may include a software application for connecting to a satellite via the communication circuit (330) (e.g., the pointing application (341) or the emergency call application (342) of FIG. 3). The software application for connecting to the satellite may be referred to as a software application for satellite communication or a satellite communication application.
[0099] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify the location of the satellite while the software application is running. The location of the satellite may indicate the actual location of the satellite. The API may be included in the SDK.
[0100] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify the direction of the electronic device (101). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the first direction identified by a sensor included in the electronic device (101) and identify the second direction indicated by an antenna of the electronic device (101). The direction of the electronic device (101) can be referred to as a direction in which the second direction is taken into account with respect to the first direction. The direction of the electronic device (101) can also be referred to as a direction in which the first direction and the second direction are synthesized. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the azimuth and elevation angles of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite based on the direction. Specific details related thereto are described below with reference to FIGS. 6A to 6C and 7A to 7D.
[0101] In operation (505), the electronic device (101) can identify whether the azimuth is within a first range. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the azimuth is within the first range (e.g., the first range (217) of FIG. 2) while the software application is running. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the azimuth is included in the first range. If the azimuth is included in the first range, the electronic device (101) can identify that the azimuth is within the first range. Conversely, if the azimuth is different from values within the first range, the electronic device (101) can identify that the azimuth is outside the first range. For example, the first range can represent a reference range for the azimuth for the electronic device (101) to establish a connection (or perform communication) with the satellite. In other words, when the azimuth is located within the first range, the electronic device (101) may have a relatively high possibility of establishing a connection with the satellite.
[0102] According to one embodiment, the first range may be identified based on information related to an antenna of the electronic device (101). The antenna may be connected to a communication circuit of the electronic device (101) (e.g., the communication circuit (330) of FIG. 3) and may include an antenna for communicating with the satellite. For example, the information may include at least one of the number of antennas, the directivity of the antenna, the intensity of a signal radiated through the antenna, or the frequency band of the signal. In the following disclosure, for the convenience of explanation, the length of the first range is described as an example when it is 40° (e.g., -20° to 20°). For example, when the first range (217) is -20° to 20°, an intermediate value of 0° may indicate a direction in which the satellite is actually located. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto.
[0103] Although not illustrated in FIG. 5, in response to the execution of the software application, the electronic device (101) may display an initial screen. For example, while the initial screen is displayed, the electronic device (101) may identify the location of the satellite and determine whether the azimuth of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite is within the first range. For example, the initial screen may include a screen for performing settings for performing a connection with the satellite through the software application. Alternatively, referring to FIG. 2, the initial screen may include a screen including visual objects other than the visual object (240) among the visual objects included in the first screen. In this case, the initial screen may include another visual object including text different from the visual object (240).
[0104] In operation (505), based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (515). Alternatively, based on identifying that the azimuth is outside the first range, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (510).
[0105] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a screen based on the quality of the signal after performing operation (505) and before performing operation (515). For example, if the level of the quality of the signal is below a reference level, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the second screen (e.g., the second screen (202) of FIG. 2) and identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range. Accordingly, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen (e.g., the third screen (203) of FIG. 2) based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range. In other words, if the level is below the reference level, the electronic device (101) may skip operations (515) and (520) and perform operation (530). Alternatively, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen if the level is equal to or higher than the reference level. In other words, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (515) (and operation (520)) if the level is equal to or higher than the reference level. Specific details related thereto are described below in FIG. 9.
[0106] In operation (510), the electronic device (101) may display a screen for adjusting the azimuth. Hereinafter, the screen for adjusting the azimuth may be referred to as a first screen (e.g., the first screen (201) of FIG. 2). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the first screen through a display (e.g., the display (320) of FIG. 3) based on identifying that the azimuth is outside the first range.
[0107] For convenience of explanation, the first screen may refer to the first screen (201) of FIG. 2.
[0108] Referring back to FIG. 5, according to one embodiment, after performing operation (510), the electronic device (101) may perform operation (505) again. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (505) while performing operation (510). In other words, the electronic device (101) may identify whether the azimuth is within the first range based on movement of the electronic device (101) by the user.
[0109] In operation (515), the electronic device (101) may display a screen guiding the holding of the electronic device (101). For convenience of explanation, the screen guiding the holding of the orientation of the electronic device (101) may be referred to as a second screen hereinafter. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen through a display (e.g., display (320)).
[0110] For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen changed from the first screen based on the change of the azimuth angle from outside the first range to within the first range according to movement of the electronic device (101) while the first screen is displayed. For example, the movement may include a rotation for changing the azimuth angle. When the azimuth angle is positioned within the specified range according to the movement of the electronic device (101), the electronic device (101) may display the first screen further including a visual object (e.g., the visual object (250) of FIG. 8B) indicating that the azimuth angle is positioned within the specified range. In other words, the electronic device (101) may display the first screen further including the visual object (250) of FIG. 8B while displaying the first screen (e.g., the first screen (201) of FIG. 2)) when the azimuth angle is positioned within the specified range according to the movement. According to one embodiment, the brightness of a visual object representing the specified range (e.g., the visual object (215) of FIG. 2) may be identified based on a visual object representing the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101) (e.g., the visual object (220) of FIG. 2). Specific details related thereto are described below in FIG. 8B. In the above example, an example of changing the brightness of the visual object (215) is described, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may change the number of pixels of a display used to display the visual object (215) based on the visual object (220) representing the relative position of the satellite. For example, the electronic device (101) may increase the number of pixels used to display the visual object (215) as the visual object (220) gets closer to the first range (217).An increase in the above number may indicate that the visual object (215) is displayed in bold.
[0111] Alternatively, for example, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the first screen and display the second screen based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range within the operation (505) performed before performing the operation (510). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range within the state where the software application is running.
[0112] For convenience of explanation, the second screen may refer to the second screen (202) of FIG. 2. The visual object (215) indicating the designated range may be displayed in a fixed state on the second screen (202). In other words, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the specified range and is not displayed on the second screen (202). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object representing the first range (217). For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (220) representing the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101).Within the second screen (202), the relative position of the satellite may be located within the first range (217) of the visual object (215) indicating the specified range. For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (240) including text guiding to fix the attitude of the electronic device (101). The attitude of the electronic device (101) may be related to the azimuth that changes according to the movement. For example, the visual object (240) may include the text guiding to fix the attitude (e.g., Hold this position to send and receive). In the example of the second screen (202), the visual object (240) may further include another text indicating a transmission and reception status together with the text guiding to fix the attitude. For example, in the example of the second screen (202), the visual object (240) may further include other text indicating that it is in a sending state (e.g., sending messages).
[0113] Referring back to FIG. 5, in operation (520), the electronic device (101) can identify whether a connection is established within a specified time period. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether a connection for transmitting and receiving data with the satellite is established while the second screen is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the data is transmitted or received through the communication circuit within a specified time period while the second screen is displayed. For example, the specified time period can be identified based on at least one of the performance of the communication circuit, the area (or service area) in which the electronic device (101) is located, or the time required to transmit and receive the data, such as a message. For example, the better the performance of the communication circuit, the shorter the specified time period. Alternatively, the more traffic there is for satellite communication within the area, the longer the specified time period. Alternatively, the longer the time required to transmit and receive the data, the longer the specified time period. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto, and may be set to a specified value by a service provider providing emergency rescue services via satellite communication or a manufacturer of the electronic device (101). For example, the data may include a message transmitted via satellite communication, location information of the electronic device (101), or information for connecting a call. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify the connection as established when the data is transmitted or received. Alternatively, the electronic device (101) may identify the connection as not established when the data is neither transmitted nor received.
[0114] In operation (525), the electronic device (101) may display a visual object representing data. For example, the electronic device (101) may include a visual object representing the transmitted and received data and display a fourth screen that is changed from the second screen. For example, if the data is a message for an emergency call, the visual object may include a visual object representing the contents of the message. Specific details related to the fourth screen may refer to the visual object (1030) of FIG. 10A or the visual object (1130) of FIG. 11 .
[0115] In operation (530), the electronic device (101) can identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range based on identifying that the connection is not established within the specified time while the second screen is displayed.
[0116] For example, the second range may represent a reference range for the elevation angle for the electronic device (101) to establish a connection (or perform communication) with the satellite. In other words, if the elevation angle is located within the second range, the electronic device (101) may have a relatively high probability of establishing a connection with the satellite.
[0117] For example, the second range may be identified based on information related to an antenna of the electronic device (101). Additionally, although the present disclosure exemplifies a case where the length of the second range is shorter than the length of the first range, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the length of the second range may be set to be equal to or longer than the length of the first range.
[0118] In operation (530), based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (535). Alternatively, in operation (530), based on identifying that the elevation angle is within the second range, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (540).
[0119] In operation (535), the electronic device (101) may display a screen for adjusting the elevation angle. For convenience of explanation, the screen for adjusting the elevation angle may be referred to as a third screen hereinafter. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen, which has been changed from the second screen, through a display (e.g., the display (320) of FIG. 3 ).
[0120] For convenience of explanation, the third screen may refer to the third screen (203) of FIG. 2.
[0121] For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position. For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (215) indicating a designated range extending from the reference position and including a first range (217). The visual object (215) indicating the designated range may be displayed in a fixed state on the third screen (203). For example, even if the electronic device (101) moves in a direction indicated by the visual object (230) and the visual object (240), the visual object (215) may be displayed in a fixed state so as to face a specific portion (e.g., an upper portion) of the display of the electronic device (101). This is because the designated range and the first range (217) are areas identified based on the actual position of the satellite. The visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite may move on the third screen (203) according to the movement of the electronic device (101). The above-mentioned specified range may represent a wider area than the first range (217). In other words, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the above-mentioned specified range and is not displayed on the third screen (203). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object representing the first range (217). For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (220) representing the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). Within the third screen (203), the relative position of the satellite may be located within the first range (217) of the visual object (215) representing the above-mentioned specified range. For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (255) that guides a tilting direction for changing the elevation angle of the electronic device (101).For example, the visual object (255) may be displayed within the visual object (210) indicating the reference position. For example, the visual object (255) may be displayed in a state in which it is at least partially overlapped with the visual object (210). However, the embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the third screen (203) may display the visual object (255) in at least a portion of the third screen (203). In addition, for example, the third screen (203) may also display the visual object (255) together within an area in which a visual object (240) including text is displayed. For example, the visual object (255) guiding the tilting direction may include an animation indicating the tilting direction. For example, the tilting direction may include up-tilting to increase the elevation angle or down-tilting to decrease the elevation angle. The third screen (203) may include a visual object (240) that includes text guiding another movement of the electronic device in the tilting direction. For example, the other movement may include a rotation in the tilting direction (e.g., forward (or up-tilting) or backward (or down-tilting)). In the example of FIG. 2 , referring to the third screen (203), the visual object (240) may include the text guiding the down-tilting to reduce the elevation angle (e.g., To improve satellite signal, tilt your phone backward).
[0122] In operation (540), the electronic device (101) may display a screen guiding fixation of the electronic device (101). The fixation may indicate fixation of the orientation of the electronic device (101). The screen guiding fixation of the electronic device (101) may be referred to as the second screen. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen based on the elevation angle outside the second range, and then display the second screen changed from the third screen based on the elevation angle outside the second range being changed to within the second range. Alternatively, the electronic device (101) may maintain displaying the second screen based on the elevation angle within the second range. In other words, the electronic device (101) can skip displaying the third screen and maintain the state of displaying the second screen based on identifying that the elevation angle is within the second range while displaying the second screen.
[0123] In operation (545), the electronic device (101) can determine whether a connection is established with the satellite. For example, the electronic device (101) can determine whether a connection for transmitting and receiving data with the satellite is established while the second screen is displayed. In other words, the electronic device (101) can determine whether a connection is established with the satellite based on the azimuth within the first range and the elevation within the second range.
[0124] For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the data has been transmitted or received through the communication circuit while the second screen is displayed. Unlike operation (520), in operation (545), the electronic device (101) can identify whether the data has been transmitted or received during a specified time other than the specified time. For example, the other specified time may represent a longer time than the specified time. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the other specified time may be set to a specified value by a service provider providing emergency rescue services via satellite communication or a manufacturer of the electronic device (101), or the other specified time may not be set. For example, the data may include a message transmitted via the satellite communication, location information of the electronic device (101), or information for connecting a call. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify that the connection has been established when the data has been transmitted or received. Conversely, the electronic device (101) can identify that the connection is not established if the data is neither transmitted nor received.
[0125] In operation (545), if a connection with the satellite is established, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (525). Conversely, in operation (545), if a connection with the satellite is not established, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (550).
[0126] In operation (550), the electronic device (101) can identify whether the length of the first range is less than a reference length. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the length of the first range, which is a reference range for the azimuth, is less than the reference length. For example, the length of the first range can represent an absolute value of the difference between a first value and a second value within the first range. The length can be referenced as a size. The first value can represent a minimum value of the first range, and the second value can represent a maximum value of the first range. For example, the reference length can represent a minimum range for aligning the direction of the electronic device (101) with the position of the satellite. If the reference length has an excessively small length, it may be difficult to align the direction of the electronic device (101) with the position of the satellite. For example, the above-mentioned standard length may be set by a service provider providing emergency rescue services through satellite communication or a manufacturer of the electronic device (101).
[0127] In operation (550), if the length of the first range is less than the reference length, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (555). Conversely, in operation (550), if the length of the first range is greater than or equal to the reference length, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (560).
[0128] In operation (550), the first range for the azimuth is described as an example, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify whether the second range for the elevation is less than another reference length. Alternatively, for example, the electronic device (101) may identify both whether the first range for the azimuth is less than the reference length (e.g., the first reference length) and whether the second range for the elevation is less than the other reference length (e.g., the second reference length). In this case, based on identifying that the first range is less than the reference length and the second range is less than the other reference length, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (555).
[0129] In operation (555), the electronic device (101) may display a visual object indicating a connection failure. For example, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object indicating a connection failure based on identifying that the length of the first range is less than the reference length. For example, the visual object indicating the connection failure may be displayed in a state at least partially overlapping with respect to the second screen. For example, displaying in the state at least partially overlapping may include displaying in a floating (or pop-up) state with respect to the second screen. For example, the visual object indicating the connection failure may include text indicating that the data transmission or reception is impossible. In addition, for example, the visual object indicating the connection failure may further include text for notifying that a signal emitted by the electronic device (101) is blocked. Additionally, for example, the visual object indicating the connection failure may further include text requesting a clear view of the sky where the satellite is located. While the above examples illustrate various examples of texts included in the visual object indicating the connection failure, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object indicating the connection failure may also include other information (e.g., an image) that conveys substantially the same meaning. For specific details regarding the visual object indicating the connection failure, reference may be made to the visual object (1190) of FIG. 11 below.
[0130] In operation (560), the electronic device (101) may adjust the first range. For example, based on identifying that the first range is greater than or equal to the reference length, the electronic device (101) may change the first range to a third range having a length smaller than the length of the first range. For example, the third range may be included in the reference range for the azimuth. As described above, in FIG. 5, an example in which the first range is adjusted is described for convenience of explanation, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the second range for the elevation angle may be changed to a fourth range having a length smaller than the length of the second range. The fourth range may be included in the reference range for the elevation angle. In addition, for example, when identifying the first range and the second range in operation (550), the electronic device (101) may adjust the first range to the third range and the second range to the fourth range. Specific details related to this are described in Figure 12 below.
[0131] According to one embodiment, after operation (560), the electronic device (101) may perform operation (505) again based on the adjusted range. For example, in operation (505), the electronic device (101) may determine whether the azimuth is within the third range. Subsequent operations may be substantially identically applied to the contents described in FIG. 5 .
[0132] As described above, the electronic device (101) is exemplified as performing an operation to identify whether a connection with the satellite has been established while displaying the second screen, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may also identify whether the connection has been established while displaying the first screen or the third screen. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify whether the connection has been established even when the azimuth is outside the first range or the elevation is outside the second range.
[0133] Additionally, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the second screen and directly identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range based on identifying that the azimuth angle is within the first range. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range when the azimuth angle outside the first range is changed to within the first range while displaying the first screen. Thereafter, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range. In other words, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen changed from the first screen after displaying the first screen. Accordingly, the electronic device (101) may first align with the satellite and then attempt to connect to the satellite.
[0134] Figures 6a to 6c illustrate examples showing the relationship between the direction of the sensor and the direction of the antenna.
[0135] The sensor may include the sensor (310) of FIG. 3. The direction of the sensor may indicate a direction according to the orientation of the electronic device (101) identified through the sensor (310) or a direction toward which a specific surface of the electronic device (101) (e.g., the front surface where the display (160) is positioned) is facing. For example, the direction of the sensor may be referred to as a first direction. The antenna may be an antenna connected to the communication circuit (330) of FIG. 3 included in the electronic device (101). For example, the antenna may represent an antenna for communicating with the satellite. The direction of the antenna may indicate a direction in which a signal radiated through the antenna proceeds or a direction in which a main lobe of a beam radiated through the antenna faces. For example, the direction of the antenna may be referred to as a second direction.
[0136] Referring to FIG. 6A, examples (600) of coordinate systems for indicating the second direction applied to the first direction are illustrated. Referring to example (600), a first vector (620) in a first coordinate system for indicating the first direction and a second vector (640) in a second coordinate system for indicating the second direction extending with respect to the first vector (620) are illustrated. For example, the first coordinate system may have the location (610) of the electronic device (101) as its origin and include an x-axis (612), a y-axis (614), and a z-axis (616). For example, the second coordinate system may have the location (630) of the first vector (620) indicating the first direction as its origin and include an x-axis (632), a y-axis (634), and a z-axis (636).
[0137] Referring to FIG. 6A, the first coordinate system for the first direction of the sensor may be different from the second coordinate system for the second direction of the antenna. In this regard, FIG. 6B may be referred to. FIG. 6B illustrates an example (650) of the first coordinate system defined for the electronic device (101) and an example (670) of the second coordinate system defined for the electronic device (101). Referring to example (650), an x-axis (612), a y-axis (614), and a z-axis (616) may be defined based on a position (610) of the electronic device (101). Referring to example (670), an x-axis (632), a y-axis (634), and a z-axis (636) may be defined based on a position (630) of the antenna of the electronic device (101). For convenience of explanation, FIG. 6B illustrates, as an example, a location (610) of the electronic device (101) and a location (630) of the antenna, which are points on the front of the electronic device (101) where the display of the electronic device (101) is located; however, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the location (610) of the electronic device (101) or the location (630) of the antenna may also represent other points of the electronic device (101).
[0138] Referring to FIG. 6B, the direction of each of the axes (612, 614, 616) of the first coordinate system may not be identical to the direction of each of the axes (632, 634, 636) of the second coordinate system. For example, the x-axis (612) of the first coordinate system may be defined as passing through a location (610) which is the center of the electronic device (101) and in a direction toward the side of the electronic device (101). In contrast, the x-axis (632) of the second coordinate system may be defined as passing through a location (630) of the antenna of the electronic device (101) and in a direction toward the top of the electronic device (101). When comparing the first coordinate system and the second coordinate system, the x-axis (612) of the first coordinate system may be parallel to (or coincide with) the y-axis (634) of the second coordinate system. Additionally, the y-axis (614) of the first coordinate system may be parallel to (or coincide with) the z-axis (636) of the second coordinate system. Additionally, the z-axis (616) of the first coordinate system may be parallel to (or coincide with) the x-axis (632) of the second coordinate system.
[0139] Referring to the above, in order to calculate the second direction considering the first direction, the electronic device (101) needs to align the axes of the first coordinate system and the second coordinate system. For example, the electronic device (101) can change the coordinate value for the x-axis of the second vector (640) indicating the second direction to the coordinate value for the z-axis of the first vector (620) indicating the first direction. For example, the electronic device (101) can change the coordinate value for the y-axis of the second vector (640) indicating the second direction to the coordinate value for the x-axis of the first vector (620) indicating the first direction. For example, the electronic device (101) can change the coordinate value for the z-axis of the second vector (640) indicating the second direction to the coordinate value for the y-axis of the first vector (620) indicating the first direction. However, as described above, when each of the axes of the first coordinate system is sequentially changed to a corresponding axis among the axes of the second coordinate system (e.g., after changing the x-axis of the second coordinate system to the z-axis of the first coordinate system, the y-axis of the second coordinate system is changed to the x-axis of the first coordinate system), a gimbal lock phenomenon may occur. To specifically describe the gimbal lock, reference may be made to FIG. 6C.
[0140] FIG. 6C illustrates circles (681, 682, 683) for indicating rotation transformation about an axis within a coordinate system including three axes. The rotation transformation about the axis can be understood as being substantially the same as the transformation of an axis of the first coordinate system of FIG. 6B into an axis corresponding to the second coordinate system. For example, when the first circle (681) is fixed and the second circle (682) is rotated to be parallel to the first circle (681), the gimbal lock may occur. In a state where the first circle (681) and the second circle (682) are parallel, transformation according to the rotation of the third circle (683) may not be possible. In other words, as the circles (681, 682, 683) for indicating three dimensions sequentially perform rotation transformation about the axis, only two dimensions may be displayed.
[0141] Accordingly, the electronic device (101) as described above can use quaternions, rather than sequentially changing axes (or rotational transformation about an axis), to identify the second direction in consideration of the first direction. A method for identifying the second direction (or the direction of the electronic device (101)) in consideration of the first direction based on the quaternions is described below in FIGS. 7A to 7D.
[0142] Figures 7a to 7d illustrate examples of a method for identifying the orientation of an electronic device. The orientation of the electronic device may represent the second direction of the antenna (or a direction synthesized from the first direction and the second direction) in consideration of the first direction of the sensor.
[0143] Example (701) of FIG. 7a, example (702) of FIG. 7b, example (703) of FIG. 7c, and example (704) of FIG. 7d are vectors (U) (712) indicating the first direction, vectors (P) (714) indicating the second direction, and vectors (U) (712) and (P) (714) indicating the cross product of the vectors (U) (712) and (P) (714). P)(716) is shown. For convenience of explanation, vector (U)(712) and vector (P)(714) are assumed to be unit vectors with a size of 1. can represent the cross product of vectors.
[0144] Referring to example (701), one end of the vector (P) (714) indicating the second direction, other than the origin (O), can be understood as a coordinate indicating the position of the antenna of the electronic device (101). The coordinate indicating the position of the antenna is expressed by a specific angle ( )(722), the rotated coordinate (735) can be located within the plane (730). The plane (730) can be perpendicular to the vector (U)(712). The vector pointing from the origin (O) to the rotated coordinate (735) is the vector (P)(714) and the vector (U)(714). P)(716) at a specific angle within the plane defined by )(722) can be defined based on a vector (720) rotated by the amount of rotation. The vector (720) can be defined by the sum of two vectors. For specific details related thereto, reference can be made to FIG. 7b.
[0145] Referring to example (702), vector (720) can be defined as the sum of the first partial vector (725-1) and the second partial vector (725-2). Vector (P) (714) is a unit vector, and the first partial vector (725-1) is cos( )*P, the second partial vector (725-2) is sin( )*(U P) can be defined. The * above can represent a multiplication operation. When referring to the first partial vector (725-1) and the second partial vector (725-2), the vector (720) is sin( )*(U P)+cos( )*P can be defined. The + above can represent a sum operation. The vector (P`) toward the coordinate (735) rotated from the origin (O) can be defined as the sum of the vector (720) and the vector that points toward the coordinate (735) from one end other than the origin of the vector (720). To explain the vector (P`) that points toward the coordinate (735) from one end other than the origin of the vector (720), reference may be made to FIG. 7c.
[0146] Referring to example (703), the vector (P`) pointing from the origin of the vector (720) to the coordinate (735) from another end may be referred to as a third partial vector (725-3). The vector (P`) may be defined as the sum of the vector (720) and the third partial vector (725-3). The third partial vector (725-3) may be identified based on the difference between the fourth partial vector (740-1) and the fifth partial vector (740-2) pointing from the origin (O) to a point on the vector (U) (712). For example, the fourth partial vector (740-1) and the fifth partial vector (740-2) may be defined based on the dot product (·) of the vector (U) (712) and the vector (P) (714). For example, the fourth partial vector (740-1) can be defined as (P·U)*U. The fifth partial vector (740-2) can be defined as {cos( )*(P·U)}*U can be defined. The third partial vector (725-3), which is identified based on the difference between the fourth partial vector (740-1) and the fifth partial vector (740-2), is {(1-cos( ))*(P·U)}*U. Therefore, the vector (P`), which is the sum of the vector (720) and the third partial vector (725-3), is sin( )*(U P)+cos( )*P+{(1-cos( )*(P·U))*U} can be defined.
[0147] Referring to the above, the vector (P`) is a vector (U) (712) indicating the first direction and a vector (U) (712) at a specific angle ( ) can be calculated based on the operation between the vector (P) (714) representing the second direction rotated by the amount. In addition, the operation representing the vector (P`) can be defined using an operation based on a quaternion. For example, the vector (U) (712) can be defined as a quaternion (q), and the vector (P) (714) can be defined as a quaternion (p). For example, the quaternion (q) is (cos( / 2), sin( / 2)*U) can be defined as cos( of quaternion number (q) / 2) can be referenced as a scalar part, and sin( / 2)*U can be referred to as a vector part. Also, for example, a quaternion (p) can be defined as (0, P). The 0 can be referred to as a scalar part, and the P can be referred to as a vector part. A rotation transformation using a quaternion (q) and a quaternion (p) is q*p*q -1 can be defined as follows. At this time, q*p can be defined as in the following mathematical expression 1.
[0148]
[0149] The above q*p can represent a quaternion multiplication operation between a quaternion (q) and a quaternion (p). In addition, q*p*q for calculating the rotation transformation -1 can be simplified as (a, A). The above a is a quaternion (q*p*q-1 ) can be referred to as a scalar part of A, and the above A is a quaternion (q*p*q -1 ) can be referred to as a vector part of. Each of a and A can be defined as in the following mathematical equations.
[0150]
[0151]
[0152]
[0153]
[0154]
[0155] When the coordinates for the vector part of the quaternion (p`) are (x, y, z), the azimuth angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite can be identified based on arctan(x,y)*(180 / π). In addition, the elevation angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite can be identified based on arcsin(z)*(180 / π). The 180 / π can be approximately 57.2957795.
[0156] Referring to FIGS. 6A to 6C and 7A to 7D, the electronic device (101) can use quaternions to calculate the first direction identified by the sensor and the second direction, which is the direction of the antenna, within the same coordinate system. Based on the quaternions, the electronic device (101) can identify the azimuth and the elevation angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite. The azimuth and the elevation angle can be used to align the direction of the electronic device (101) and the position of the satellite. In the alignment, a method of adjusting the azimuth angle to be located within a first range is described below in FIGS. 8A to 8D.
[0157] FIGS. 8A to 8D illustrate examples of a method for adjusting the azimuth angle of an electronic device to a satellite within a first range.
[0158] FIG. 8A illustrates examples (801, 802, 803) of a first screen (201) displayed within an action (510), a second screen (202) or a second screen (202-1) displayed within an action (515).
[0159] FIG. 8A illustrates examples of a first screen (201) displayed within an operation (510) and second screens (202, 202-1) displayed within an operation (515). Although not illustrated in FIG. 8A, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may identify whether the azimuth is within the first range. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify whether the azimuth is within the first range (217) while the software application is running.
[0160] Referring to example (801), according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display the first screen (201) based on identifying that the azimuth is outside the first range (217). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the first screen (201) through a display (e.g., display (320) of FIG. 3) based on identifying that the azimuth is outside the first range (217).
[0161] For example, the first screen (201) may represent a screen for adjusting the azimuth outside the first range (217) to be positioned within the first range (217). For example, even if the electronic device (101) moves in a direction indicated by the visual object (230) and the visual object (240), the visual object (215) may be displayed in a fixed state facing a specific portion (e.g., the upper portion) of the display of the electronic device (101). This is because the above-mentioned specified range and the first range (217) are areas identified based on the actual location of the satellite. The first screen (201) may have a visual object (220) indicating the relative location of the satellite move according to the movement of the electronic device (101). The specified range may represent a wider area than the first range (217). In other words, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the specified range and is not displayed on the first screen (201). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object indicating the first range (217). For example, the first screen (201) may include a visual object (220) indicating the relative location of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). Within the first screen (201), the relative position of the satellite may be located outside the area of the visual object (215) representing the specified range. For example, the first screen (201) may include a visual object (230) that includes an area within the specified range and extends to the visual object (220) within a circle in which the visual object (220) moves. The visual object (230) may indicate a direction for changing the position of the satellite within the specified range (or the first range (217)). For example, referring to the first screen (201), when the visual object (220) indicating the position of the satellite is displayed on the right side outside the specified range, the visual object (230) may include an indicator pointing to the right (or clockwise). In other words, the visual object (230) may represent a visual object for intuitively indicating the distance between the visual object (215) indicating the specified range and the visual object (220) indicating the position of the satellite. For example, the first screen (201) may include a visual object (240) that includes text that guides movement in the direction. In the example of FIG. 8A, the visual object (240) of the first screen (201) may include text (e.g., “Turn right to face the satellite”) that instructs to turn to the right (or clockwise).
[0162] Referring to example (802), according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202) that is changed from the first screen (201) based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range (217). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen (202) that is changed from the first screen (201) based on the azimuth being changed from outside the first range (217) to within the first range (217) due to movement of the electronic device (101) while the first screen (201) is displayed. For example, the movement may include a rotation for changing the azimuth. The second screen (202) may indicate a screen that guides holding the orientation of the electronic device (101).
[0163] For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position. For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (215) indicating a designated range extending from the reference position and including the first range (217). For example, the visual object (215) of the second screen (202) may be displayed brighter than the visual object (215) of the first screen (201). The visual object (215) indicating the designated range may be displayed in a fixed state on the second screen (202). For example, even if the electronic device (101) moves in a direction indicated by the visual object (230) and the visual object (240), the visual object (215) may be displayed in a fixed state facing a specific portion (e.g., an upper portion) of the display of the electronic device (101). This is because the above-mentioned specified range and the first range (217) are areas identified based on the actual location of the satellite. The first screen (201) may have a visual object (220) indicating the relative location of the satellite move according to the movement of the electronic device (101). The specified range may represent a wider area than the first range (217). In other words, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the specified range and is not displayed on the second screen (202). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object indicating the first range (217). For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (220) indicating the relative location of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). Within the second screen (202), the relative position of the satellite may be located within the first range (217) of the visual object (215) representing the specified range. For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (240) including text guiding to fix the posture of the electronic device (101). The posture of the electronic device (101) may be related to the azimuth angle changed according to the movement. For example, the visual object (240) may include the text guiding to fix the posture (e.g., Hold this position to send and receive). In the example of the second screen (202), the visual object (240) may further include another text indicating a transmission / reception status together with the text guiding to fix the posture. For example, in the example of the second screen (202), the visual object (240) may further include another text indicating a transmission status (e.g., sending messages).
[0164] Also, referring to example (803), according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202-1) that is changed from the first screen (201) based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range (217). The second screen (202-1) may display a screen that guides to hold the posture of the electronic device (101), like the second screen (202).
[0165] For example, unlike the second screen (202), the second screen (202-1) may include a visual object (245) that is displayed in a floated (or pop-up) state with respect to another software application (e.g., a software application for displaying a home screen) while a software application for satellite communication (e.g., a pointing application (341) or an emergency call application (342) of FIG. 3) is running in the background. For example, the visual object (245) may include a visual object (245-1) that is a simplified version of the visual objects (210, 215, 220, 250) of the second screen (202) and a visual object (245-2) corresponding to the visual object (240) that includes text that guides the user to fix the position of the electronic device (101). For example, the visual object (245) may be displayed on the upper portion of the display area of the display of the electronic device (101). However, the embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited thereto, and may be displayed in a different shape (e.g., a visual object formed vertically, unlike the visual object (245) formed horizontally) on another portion (e.g., the bottom, middle, or side) of the display area.
[0166] In FIG. 8A, an example is shown in which a first screen (201) is displayed as the operation (510) is performed, and then a second screen (202) (or a second screen (202-1)) is displayed as the azimuth changes as the operation (505) and operation (515), but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the first screen (201) and display the second screen (202) (or a second screen (202-1)) based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range (217) within the operation (505) performed before performing the operation (510). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen (202) (or the second screen (202-1)) based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range (217) while the software application is running.
[0167] In addition, in FIG. 8a, although omitted for convenience of explanation, while changing from the first screen (201) to the second screen (202) (or the second screen (202-1)), the electronic device (101) can display the first screen (201-1) in which a visual object (250) is further displayed with respect to the first screen (201). For specific details related thereto, reference may be made to FIG. 8b.
[0168] FIG. 8b illustrates examples (804, 805, 806) of a first screen (201) and a first screen (201-1) displayed within an action (510), and a second screen (202) displayed within an action (515).
[0169] Referring to example (804), the electronic device (101) may display a first screen (201). The content of the first screen (201) of FIG. 8B may be equally applied to the content of the first screen (201) of FIG. 8A. According to one embodiment, the position at which the visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101) is displayed may change based on a change in the azimuth due to the movement of the electronic device (101) within the state in which the first screen (201) is displayed. For example, based on the movement (or rotation) in the direction (e.g., rightward or clockwise) guided by the electronic device (101) within the first screen (201), the position of the visual object (220) may change from outside the specified range of the visual object (215) to within the specified range. Referring to example (805), the electronic device (101) may display a first screen (201-1) that further includes a visual object (250) indicating that the azimuth is located within the specified range. In other words, the first screen (201-1) may represent a screen that further includes a visual object (250) with respect to the first screen (201). Referring to example (806), the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202) that is changed from the first screen (201-1). For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (220) located within the first range (217) of the specified range based on the movement of the electronic device (101). The contents of the second screen (202) of FIG. 8B may be equally applied to the contents of the second screen (202) of FIG. 8A.
[0170] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object (215) having a brightness identified based on a visual object (220) indicating a relative position of the satellite. For example, the brightness of the visual object (215) may become brighter as the visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite gets closer to a first range (217). For example, the brightness of the visual object (215) in the first screen (201) may be a first brightness when the visual object (220) is located outside the specified range of the visual object (215). Additionally, the brightness of the visual object (215) in the first screen (201-1) may be a second brightness that is brighter than the first brightness when the visual object (220) is located within the specified range of the visual object (215) and outside the first range (217). In addition, the brightness of the visual object (215) in the second screen (202) may be a third brightness that is brighter than the second brightness when the visual object (220) is located within the first range (217). For example, the electronic device (101) may increase the number of pixels used to display the visual object (215) as the visual object (220) gets closer to the first range (217). An increase in the number may indicate that the visual object (215) is displayed in a darker color.
[0171] As described above, the electronic device (101) may display screens that change depending on the position of the satellite. The screens may display the satellite as if it moves according to the movement (or rotation) of the electronic device (101) through a visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite and a visual object (215) fixed in a specific direction. Accordingly, the designated range and the first range (217) defined for the actual position of the satellite may be displayed based on the direction of the electronic device (101). However, as shown in FIG. 8c below, screens including a visual object (820) indicating the actual position of the satellite and a visual object (815) that is variably displayed depending on the direction of the electronic device (101) may also be used.
[0172] FIG. 8c illustrates examples (807, 808, 809) of a first screen (201) and a first screen (201-1) displayed within an action (510), and a second screen (202) displayed within an action (515).
[0173] Referring to example (807), the electronic device (101) can display a first screen (201). Unlike the visual object (220) included in the first screen (201) of FIG. 8C, the visual object (820) included in the first screen (201) of FIG. 8B can be displayed in a fixed state in an area corresponding to the actual location of the satellite. In addition, the first screen (201) of FIG. 8C can include a visual object (815) indicating the direction of the electronic device (101). For example, unlike the visual object (215) of FIG. 8B, the visual object (815) of FIG. 8C can be displayed in a position that changes according to the movement (or rotation) of the electronic device (101). For example, the visual object (815) can be rotated to the right (or clockwise) when the electronic device (101) is rotated to the right (or clockwise). Additionally, the first range (817) may be defined for a visual object (815) indicating the actual location of the satellite, unlike the first range (217) included within the visual object (215) of FIG. 8B . Referring to example (808), the electronic device (101) may display a first screen (201-1) that further includes a visual object (850) indicating that the visual object (815) indicating the direction of the electronic device (101) begins to be positioned within the first range (817). In other words, the first screen (201-1) may represent a screen that further includes the visual object (850) with respect to the first screen (201) of example (807). Referring to example (809), the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202) that is changed from the first screen (201-1) of example (808). For example, the second screen (202) may indicate a state in which the direction of the electronic device (101) is positioned within the first range (817) based on the movement of the electronic device (101). For example, the middle portion of the specified range may be aligned with a visual object (820).
[0174] Referring to the above, the screens of FIG. 2, the screens of FIG. 8a, the screens of FIG. 8b, the screens of FIG. 10a below, the screens of FIG. 10b below, the screens of FIG. 11 below, and the screens of FIGS. 14a to 16b below illustrate examples of using a visual object (220) indicating the relative position of the satellite, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, as in the screens of FIG. 8c, a visual object (820) indicating the actual position of the satellite may also be used.
[0175] FIG. 8D illustrates examples (860) of satellites (880-1, 880-2) positioned relative to a designated range (870) and a first range (875) centered around a location (865) of an electronic device (101). For example, the designated range (870) may represent the designated range of a visual object (215) within the screens of FIGS. 8A and 8B . For example, the first range (875) may represent the first range (217) within the screens of FIGS. 8A and 8B . In FIG. 8D , for convenience of explanation, the first range (875) having a length (or size) of 40° and the designated range (870) having a length (or size) of 100° are illustrated, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the lengths of the first range (875) and the designated range (870) may be changed. In the example of FIG. 8d, the first range (875) can be set from 340° (or -20°) to 20°. The specified range (870) can be set from 310° (or -50°) to 50°.
[0176] Referring to example (860), the electronic device (101) can identify the first azimuth angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite (880-1) as approximately 0°. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify that the first azimuth angle is within the first range (875). Based on identifying that the first azimuth angle is within the first range (875), the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202) of FIG. 8A (or the second screen (202-1)) or the second screen (202) of FIG. 8B. Furthermore, referring to example (860), the electronic device (101) can identify the second azimuth angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite (880-2) as approximately 60°. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify that the second azimuth angle is outside the specified range (870). Based on identifying that the second azimuth angle is outside the specified range (870), the electronic device (101) can display the first screen (201) of FIG. 8A or the first screen (201) of FIG. 8B.
[0177] FIG. 9 illustrates an example of a method for displaying screens for aligning the position of a satellite and the orientation of an electronic device based on the quality of the signal.
[0178] The method of FIG. 9 may be performed by the electronic device (101) of FIG. 3. For example, the method may be controlled by the processor (120). The method of FIG. 9 may be performed before the operation (515) of FIG. 5 is performed. For example, the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (e.g., the second screen (202) of FIG. 2, the second screen (202) of FIG. 8A, or the second screen (202) of FIG. 8B) based on identifying that the azimuth angle is within the first range. According to one embodiment, even when the electronic device (101) identifies that the azimuth angle is within the first range, if the quality of the signal emitted by the electronic device (101) is lower than a reference quality, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the second screen and identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range. In other words, the electronic device (101) can omit performing operations (515) and (520) and perform operation (530).
[0179] FIG. 9 illustrates an example (900) of a signal flow diagram for identifying the quality of a signal emitted (or transmitted) from an electronic device (101). Referring to example (900), the electronic device (101) can identify the quality of the signal based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify the quality of the signal based on an API (920) called using a software application (910) for connecting to the satellite (or a software application for satellite communication). For example, the API (920) can be included in an SDK for supporting a satellite communication service. For example, the API (920) can identify the quality of the signal emitted by the electronic device (101) based on being called by the software application (910). The API (920) can provide information about the quality of the signal. For example, the information may include a quality level of the signal. For example, the level may be one of a plurality of levels (e.g., five levels).
[0180] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the level is below a reference level. The reference level may be one of the plurality of levels. For example, based on identifying that the level is below the reference level, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range. In other words, the electronic device (101) can perform operation (530). For example, based on identifying that the elevation angle is within the second range, the electronic device (101) can display the third screen. Alternatively, based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range, the electronic device (101) can display the second screen.
[0181] For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen based on identifying that the level is higher than the reference level. In other words, the electronic device (101) may perform operation (515). Thereafter, the electronic device (101) may identify whether a connection with the satellite is established within a specified time period within operation (520).
[0182] Although FIG. 9 illustrates an example in which the API (920) transmits information about signal quality once, the present disclosure is not limited thereto. The API (920) according to the present disclosure may transmit information about signal quality multiple times based on an event. For example, the event may include a change in the level of the signal quality, a request from a software application (910), or the expiration of a timer (or a specific time interval).
[0183] FIGS. 10A to 10C illustrate examples of a method for adjusting the elevation angle of an electronic device relative to a satellite to be within a second range.
[0184] FIG. 10A illustrates examples (1001, 1002, 1003) of a second screen (202) displayed within an action (515), a third screen (203) displayed within an action (535), and a fourth screen (204) displayed within an action (525). Examples (1001, 1002, 1003) according to the method may represent examples for actions (515), (525), (530), and (535).
[0185] Referring to example (1001), the electronic device (101) may display the second screen (202) based on identifying that the azimuth is within the first range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen (202) through a display (e.g., display (320) of FIG. 3).
[0186] For example, the second screen (202) may display a screen for guiding to hold the orientation of the electronic device (101). The orientation of the electronic device (101) may be related to the azimuth. The visual object (215) indicating the designated range may be displayed in a fixed state on the second screen (202).
[0187] Referring to Example (1001), the electronic device (101) can identify whether a connection with the satellite is established within a state in which the second screen (202) is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether data has been transmitted or received via a communication circuit (e.g., the communication circuit (330) of FIG. 3) within a specified time period. The data can represent data transmitted or received when a connection with the satellite is established. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range based on identifying that a connection with the satellite has not been established.
[0188] Referring to example (1002), the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203) changed from the second screen (202) based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen (203) through a display (e.g., display (320) of FIG. 3).
[0189] For example, the third screen (203) may represent a screen for adjusting the elevation angle outside the second range to be positioned within the second range. The third screen (203) may have a visual object (220) indicating the relative location of the satellite move according to the movement of the electronic device (101). The specified range may represent a wider area than the first range (217). In other words, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the specified range and is not displayed on the third screen (203). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object indicating the first range (217). For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (220) indicating the relative location of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). Within the third screen (203), the relative position of the satellite may be located within the first range (217) of the visual object (215) representing the specified range. For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (255) that guides a tilting direction for changing the elevation angle of the electronic device (101). For example, the visual object (255) may be displayed within a visual object (210) indicating the reference position. For example, the visual object (255) that guides the tilting direction may include an animation indicating the tilting direction. For example, the tilting direction may include up-tilting to increase the elevation angle or down-tilting to decrease the elevation angle. The third screen (203) may include a visual object (240) that includes text guiding another movement of the electronic device toward the tilting direction. For example, the other movement may include a rotation toward the tilting direction (e.g., forward (or up-tilting) or backward (or down-tilting)). In the example of FIG. 2, referring to the third screen (203), the visual object (240) may include the text guiding the down-tilting to decrease the elevation angle (e.g., To improve satellite signal, tilt your phone backward).
[0190] Referring to example (1003), the electronic device (101) may display a fourth screen (204) based on identifying that a connection with the satellite has been established. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the fourth screen (204) through a display (e.g., display (320) of FIG. 3). For example, the fourth screen (204) may include a visual object (1030) representing the data of a message type related to emergency rescue. For example, the fourth screen (204) may execute a software application (e.g., message application) that provides the visual object (1030), while executing a software application (e.g., pointing application (341) or emergency call application (342) of FIG. 3) related to satellite communication in the background. As the software application related to the satellite communication runs in the background, a simplified visual object (245) of the second screen (202) may be displayed through a portion (e.g., the upper portion) of the display area. For example, the visual object (245) may include a visual object (245-1) that is a simplified version of the visual objects (210, 215, 220, 250) of the second screen (202) and a visual object (245-2) corresponding to the visual object (240) that includes text guiding the fixation of the position of the electronic device (101). In example (1003), a fourth screen (204) is illustrated as an example in which a simplified visual object (245) is displayed in a floated (or pop-up) state as the software application related to the satellite communication runs in the background, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the fourth screen (204) may include a visual object (1030) displayed in a floating state within the state in which the second screen (202) is displayed.
[0191] FIG. 10B illustrates examples (1002-1, 1002-2) of a third screen (203). The third screen (203) of example (1002-1) may be understood to be substantially identical to the third screen (203) of example (1002) of FIG. 10A. Referring to example (1002-1), the visual object (240) of the third screen (203) may include the text (e.g., "To improve satellite signal, tilt your phone backward") guiding the down-tilting to reduce the elevation angle. Furthermore, referring to example (1002-1), the third screen (203) may include a visual object (255) guiding the down-tilting of the electronic device (101). For example, the visual object (255) guiding the tilting direction may include an animation representing the down-tilting. In contrast, referring to example (1002-2), the visual object (240) of the third screen (203) may include the text (e.g., To improve satellite signal, tilt your phone front) guiding the up-tilting to increase the elevation angle. Furthermore, referring to example (1002-2), the third screen (203) may include a visual object (255) guiding the up-tilting of the electronic device (101). For example, the visual object (255) guiding the tilting direction may include an animation representing the up-tilting.
[0192] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203) including a visual object (240) and a visual object (255) for guiding the up-tilting based on identifying that the elevation angle is less than a third value of the second range. For example, the third value may represent a minimum value of the second range. In addition, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203) including a visual object (240) and a visual object (255) for guiding the down-tilting based on identifying that the elevation angle is greater than or equal to a fourth value of the second range. For example, the fourth value may represent a maximum value of the second range.
[0193] Referring to the above, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203) including a visual object guiding a tilting direction identified according to the elevation angle. At this time, the relationship between the elevation angle and the second range may be referred to as in FIG. 10c.
[0194] FIG. 10C illustrates examples (1050) of satellites (1080-1, 1080-2) positioned relative to a second range (1070) centered around the location (1060) of the electronic device (101). For example, the second range (1070) may represent a reference range for the elevation angle with respect to the third screen (203) of FIG. 2 or the third screens (203) of FIGS. 10A and 10B . In FIG. 10C , for convenience of explanation, the second range (1070) having a length of 20° is illustrated, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the length of the second range (1070) may be varied. In the example of FIG. 10C , the second range (1070) may be set to 40° to 60°.
[0195] Referring to example (1050), the electronic device (101) can identify the first elevation angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite (1080-1) as approximately 48°. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify that the first elevation angle is within the second range (1070). Based on identifying that the first elevation angle is within the second range (1070), the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202) changed from the third screen (203). In other words, the electronic device (101) can perform operation (540) upon identifying that the first elevation angle has changed to the second range (1070) within operation (530) performed after performing operation (535) of FIG. 5. Alternatively, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the third screen (203) and maintain displaying the second screen (202) upon identifying that the first elevation angle is within the second range (1070) in operation (530) performed after operation (520) of FIG. 5. Furthermore, referring to example (1050), the electronic device (101) may identify the second elevation angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite (1080-2) as approximately 26°. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify that the second elevation angle is outside the second range (1070). The electronic device (101) may display the third screen (203) of FIG. 10A or the third screen (203) of FIG. 10B (e.g., the third screen (203) of the example (1002-1) where down-tilting is required) based on identifying that the second elevation angle is outside the second range (1070).
[0196] Figure 11 shows examples of screens depending on whether a connection is established between an electronic device and a satellite.
[0197] FIG. 11 illustrates examples (1101, 1102, 1103, 1104) of a third screen (203) displayed in an action (535), a second screen (202) displayed in an action (540), a fourth screen (204) displayed in an action (525), and a second screen (202) displayed in an action (555).
[0198] Referring to example (1101), the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203) based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen (203) through a display (e.g., display (320) of FIG. 3). For example, the electronic device (101) may identify whether the elevation angle is within the second range while the third screen (203) is displayed.
[0199] For example, the third screen (203) may represent a screen for adjusting the elevation angle outside the second range to be positioned within the second range. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object representing the first range (217). For example, the third screen (203) may include a visual object (220) representing the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101).Within the third screen (203), the relative position of the satellite may be located within the first range (217) of the visual object (215) indicating the specified range. The third screen (203) may include a visual object (240) including text guiding another movement of the electronic device toward the tilting direction. For example, the other movement may include a rotation toward the tilting direction (e.g., forward (or up-tilting) or backward (or down-tilting)). In the example of FIG. 2, referring to the third screen (203), the visual object (240) may include the text (e.g., To improve satellite signal, tilt your phone backward) guiding the down-tilting to decrease the elevation angle.
[0200] Referring to example (1102), the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202) changed from the third screen (203) based on the elevation angle being changed from outside the second range to within the second range according to the movement of the electronic device (101) while the third screen (203) is displayed. For example, the movement of the electronic device (101) can include rotation in the tilting direction.
[0201] For example, the second screen (202) may display a screen for guiding to hold the posture of the electronic device (101). The posture of the electronic device (101) may be related to the elevation angle.
[0202] For example, the second screen (202) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position.
[0203] Referring to example (1103), the electronic device (101) may display a fourth screen (204) based on identifying that a connection with the satellite has been established within a state in which the second screen (202) is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) may identify whether a connection with the satellite has been established within a state in which the second screen (202) is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) may display a fourth screen (204) changed from the second screen (202) through a display (e.g., display (320) of FIG. 3) based on identifying that a connection with the satellite has been established.
[0204] For example, the fourth screen (204) may include a visual object (1130) representing the data of a message type related to emergency rescue. For example, the fourth screen (204) may execute a software application (e.g., a message application) that provides the visual object (1130), and thus, a software application related to satellite communication (e.g., a pointing application (341) or an emergency call application (342) of FIG. 3) may be executed in the background. As the software application related to satellite communication is executed in the background, a simplified visual object (245) of the second screen (202) may be displayed through a portion (e.g., an upper portion) of a display area of the display. For example, the visual object (245) may include a visual object (245-2) corresponding to the visual object (240) that includes a simplified visual object (245-1) of the visual objects (210, 215, 220, 250) of the second screen (202) and text guiding to fix the position of the electronic device (101). In example (1103), the fourth screen (204) is illustrated as an example in which the simplified visual object (245) is displayed in a floated (or pop-up) state as the software application related to the satellite communication is executed in the background, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the fourth screen (204) may include a visual object (1130) displayed in a floated state within a state in which the second screen (202) is displayed.
[0205] Referring to example (1104), the electronic device (101) may display a visual object (1190) to indicate that a connection has failed while the second screen (202) is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) may display a visual object (1190) that is floated (or pops up) in a state of at least partial overlap with the second screen (202) through a display (e.g., the display (320) of FIG. 3). For example, the visual object (1190) may include text indicating that transmission or reception is not possible. In addition, for example, the visual object (1190) may include a simplified visual object of the second screen (202). However, embodiments of the present disclosure may not be limited to the visual object (1190) of example (1104). For example, the visual object indicating the connection failure may further include text to notify that the signal emitted by the electronic device (101) is blocked. In addition, for example, the visual object indicating the connection failure may further include text requesting a clear view of the sky where the satellite is located. In the above examples, various examples of texts included in the visual object indicating the connection failure are described, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object indicating the connection failure may include other information (e.g., an image) that has substantially the same meaning. In addition, in example (1104), the visual object (1190) displayed while the second screen (202) is displayed is illustrated, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (1190) may be displayed within another screen (e.g., the initial screen) along with the display of the second screen (202) being stopped.
[0206] Figure 12 shows an example of a method for adjusting the first range for azimuth.
[0207] FIG. 12 illustrates an example (1200) of the method in which operations (550) and (560) are performed.
[0208] Example (1200) illustrates a satellite (1280) positioned relative to a designated range (1270) and a first range (1275) centered around a location (1210) of an electronic device (101). For example, the designated range (1270) may represent the designated range of a visual object (215) within the screen of FIGS. 8A and 8B . For example, the first range (1275) may represent the first range (217) within the screen of FIGS. 8A and 8B . In FIG. 12 , for convenience of explanation, the first range (1275) having a length of 40° and the designated range (1270) having a length of 100° are illustrated, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the lengths of the first range (1275) and the designated range (1270) may be varied. In the example of FIG. 12, the first range (1275) can be set from 340° (or -20°) to 20°. The specified range (1270) can be set from 310° (or -50°) to 50°.
[0209] Referring to example (1200), the electronic device (101) can identify a first azimuth angle of about 15° with respect to a satellite (1280) of the electronic device (101). For example, the electronic device (101) can identify that the first azimuth angle is within a first range (1275). Based on identifying that the first azimuth angle is within the first range (1275), the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202) of FIG. 8A (or the second screen (202-1)) or the second screen (202) of FIG. 8B. In other words, the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202) within operation (540). Thereafter, within operation (545), the electronic device (101) can identify whether a connection is established with the satellite. At this time, as the electronic device (101) identifies that a connection with the satellite is not established, it can identify within the operation (550) whether the length of the first range (1275) is less than a reference length. For example, the reference length may be 20°. In the example of FIG. 12, the electronic device (101) can change the length of the first range (1275) based on identifying that the length is greater than or equal to the reference length because the length is 40°. Referring to FIG. 12, the electronic device (101) can change the length of the first range (1275) to 20°. Changing the first range (1275) can be understood as identifying a third range (1275-1), which is a new reference range. The electronic device (101) can identify the third range (1275-1) having a length of 20°. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the azimuth is within the third range (1275-1). Referring to the example of FIG. 12, upon identifying that the azimuth for the satellite (1280) of the electronic device (101) is outside the third range (1275-1), the electronic device (101) can display the first screen (201) of FIG. 2 (or the first screen (201) of FIG. 8A or the first screen (201) of FIG. 8B) for adjusting the azimuth.
[0210] As described above, in FIG. 12, for the convenience of explanation, an example in which the first range (1270) is adjusted is described, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the second range for the elevation angle may be changed to a fourth range having a length smaller than the length of the second range. The fourth range may be included in the reference range for the elevation angle. In addition, for example, when the first range and the second range are identified in operation (550), the electronic device (101) may adjust the first range to the third range and the second range to the fourth range.
[0211] As described above, the electronic device (101) can more precisely align the direction of the electronic device (101) with the position of the satellite by adjusting the length of the reference range (e.g., a first range for azimuth and a second range for elevation). Accordingly, the electronic device (101) can perform communication with the satellite based on improved directionality and stability.
[0212] Figure 13 illustrates a flowchart of a method for displaying screens for aligning the position of a satellite and the orientation of an electronic device.
[0213] The method of FIG. 13 may be performed by the electronic device (101) of FIG. 3. For example, at least one operation of the method may be controlled by the processor (120). The alignment may indicate positioning the direction of the electronic device (101) within a reference range with respect to the position of the satellite. For example, the azimuth (or azimuth of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite) may represent the difference between the angle between a vector projected within a reference plane pointing in the direction of the electronic device (101) and a vector pointing toward a reference direction (e.g., true north) and the angle between a vector projected within the reference plane pointing in the direction of the satellite and a vector pointing toward the reference direction. For example, the reference plane may represent a horizontal plane including a vector pointing toward the electronic device (101) and the reference direction. For example, the reference direction may include true north, magnetic north, or grid north. For example, the elevation (or azimuth of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite) may represent the difference between the angle between the direction of the electronic device (101) and the reference plane and the angle between a vector pointing toward the position of the satellite and the reference plane.
[0214] Referring to FIG. 13, in operation (1310), the electronic device (101) may display a first screen for adjusting the azimuth so that it is positioned within a first range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the first screen for adjusting the azimuth of the electronic device (101) for the satellite so that it is positioned within the first range through a display (e.g., the display (320) of FIG. 3).
[0215] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may execute a software application for connecting to the satellite prior to operation (1310). The software application for connecting to the satellite may be referred to as a software application for satellite communication or a satellite communication application. For example, the electronic device (101) may execute the software application based on at least a portion of a user's input.
[0216] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify the location of the satellite while the software application is running.
[0217] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify the difference between the position of the identified satellite and the direction of the electronic device (101).
[0218] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the azimuth is within the first range. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the azimuth is included in the first range. For example, the first range may represent a reference range for the azimuth for the electronic device (101) to establish a connection (or perform communication) with the satellite. In other words, if the azimuth is located within the first range, the electronic device (101) may have a relatively high probability of establishing a connection with the satellite.
[0219] For example, the first range may be identified based on information related to an antenna of the electronic device (101). The antenna may be connected to a communication circuit of the electronic device (101) (e.g., the communication circuit (330) of FIG. 3) and may include an antenna for communicating with the satellite. For example, the information may include at least one of the number of antennas, the directivity of the antennas, the intensity of a signal radiated through the antennas, or the frequency band of the signal. The length may be referred to as a size.
[0220] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display the first screen based on identifying that the azimuth is outside the first range. The description of the first screen (201) (or first screen (201-1)) described above may be substantially identically applied to the first screen.
[0221] According to one embodiment, in response to the execution of the software application, the electronic device (101) may display an initial screen. For example, the electronic device (101), while the initial screen is displayed, may identify the position of the satellite and determine whether the azimuth of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite is within the first range. For example, the initial screen may include a screen for performing settings for performing a connection with the satellite through the software application. Alternatively, the initial screen may include a screen including at least some visual objects among the visual objects included in the first screen. The initial screen may also include a visual object including text different from a visual object representing text included in the first screen (e.g., visual object (240)).
[0222] In operation (1320), the electronic device (101) may display a second screen that guides fixing the electronic device (101). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen that guides fixing the orientation of the electronic device (101) through a display (e.g., the display (320) of FIG. 3). For example, the second screen may represent a screen changed from the first screen. The orientation of the electronic device (101) may be related to the azimuth or elevation angle.
[0223] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen changed from the first screen based on the change of the azimuth angle from outside the first range to within the first range according to the movement (or rotation) of the electronic device (101) while displaying the first screen. For example, the movement may indicate a movement that changes the azimuth angle. With respect to the second screen, the description of the second screen (202) (or second screen (202-1)) described above may be substantially equally applied.
[0224] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can identify whether a connection for transmitting and receiving data with the satellite has been established while the second screen is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) can identify whether the data has been transmitted or received via the communication circuit within a specified time period while the second screen is displayed.
[0225] In operation (1330), the electronic device (101) may display a third screen for adjusting the elevation angle to be within the second range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen for adjusting the elevation angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite to be within the second range through a display (e.g., the display (320) of FIG. 3).
[0226] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may determine whether the elevation angle is within the second range based on identifying that the connection is not established within the specified time while the second screen is displayed. In other words, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen for adjusting the elevation angle based on identifying that the connection with the satellite is not established despite the azimuth angle being within the first range. For example, the second range may represent a reference range for the elevation angle for the electronic device (101) to establish a connection (or perform communication) with the satellite. In other words, when the elevation angle is located within the second range, the electronic device (101) may have a relatively high probability of establishing a connection with the satellite.
[0227] For example, the second range may be identified based on information related to an antenna of the electronic device (101).
[0228] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen based on determining that the elevation angle is outside the second range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen, which is modified from the second screen. The content of the third screen may be substantially identical to the content of the third screen (203) described above.
[0229] Additionally, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen again based on identifying that the elevation angle is within the second range. For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range while displaying the second screen. Thereafter, the electronic device (101) may display the second screen changed from the third screen based on the elevation angle being changed to within the second range according to the other movement while displaying the third screen. Alternatively, the electronic device (101) may skip displaying the third screen and maintain the state of displaying the second screen based on identifying that the elevation angle is within the second range while displaying the second screen. According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may identify whether a connection for transmitting and receiving data with the satellite has been established while displaying the second screen.
[0230] For example, each of the first screen, the second screen, and the third screen may be referred to as a user interface (UI) for the software application.
[0231] Figures 14a and 14b illustrate examples of a first screen displayed by an electronic device.
[0232] The first screen (201a) and the first screen (201b) of FIGS. 14a and 14b illustrate another example of the first screen (201) of FIG. 2 and the first screen (201) (or the first screen (201-1)) of FIGS. 8a to 8c. In other words, the first screen (201a) and the first screen (201b) can be substantially identically applied to the first screen (201) (or the first screen (201-1)). The same reference numerals may be used for the same description.
[0233] Referring to FIG. 14a, the electronic device (101) can display a first screen (201a). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the first screen (201a) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1).
[0234] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a first screen (201a) based on identifying that the azimuth is outside the first range (217). For example, the first screen (201a) may represent a screen for adjusting the azimuth outside the first range (217) to be positioned within the first range (217). For example, the first screen (201a) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position. For example, the first screen (201a) may include a visual object (215) indicating a designated range extending from the reference position and including the first range (217). For example, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the designated range and is not displayed on the first screen (201a). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object representing the first range (217). For example, the first screen (201a) may include a visual object (220) representing the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). For example, the first screen (201a) may include a visual object (230) that includes an area of the designated range and extends to the visual object (220) within a circle in which the visual object (220) moves. For example, the first screen (201a) may include a visual object (240) that includes text guiding movement in the direction. In the example of FIG. 14a, the visual object (240) of the first screen (201a) may include the text (e.g., “Turn right to face the satellite”) that instructs to turn to the right (or clockwise).
[0235] According to one embodiment, the first screen (201a) may include a visual object (1410) to indicate that the azimuth is outside the first range (217). For example, the visual object (1410) may be displayed within the visual object (210) to indicate the reference position. For example, the visual object (1410) may include an image that simplifies and displays the electronic device (101) and a background color expressed in a first color. For example, the first color may include white. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the image and the first color may be used to indicate that the azimuth is outside the first range (217).
[0236] According to one embodiment, the first screen (201a) may include a visual object (1415) to represent the entire range for the azimuth. For example, the visual object (1415) may represent the circle in which the visual object (220) moves. For example, the visual object (1415) may be defined as a range in which the azimuth can be changed, from 0° to 360°.
[0237] Referring to FIG. 14a, the electronic device (101) can display a first screen (201b). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the first screen (201b) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1).
[0238] In one embodiment, the first screen (201b) may include at least a portion of the first screen (201a). For example, the first screen (201b) may include a visual object (1410). For example, the first screen (201b) may include a visual object (1415).
[0239] According to one embodiment, the first screen (201b) may further display a guiding visual object (1420) to adjust the azimuth angle within the first range (217). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the visual object (1420) in response to identifying that the azimuth angle is adjusted by a user of the electronic device (101) while the first screen (201a) (or the first screen (201), the first screen (201-1)) is displayed. In FIG. 14A, an example is shown in which a visual object (1420) including indicators indicating both the right (or clockwise) and left (or counterclockwise) directions is displayed, but this is merely for convenience of explanation. In the example of FIG. 14a, the visual object (1420) may only include an indicator pointing to the right (or clockwise) to adjust the azimuth within the first range (217).
[0240] Referring to FIG. 14B, the electronic device (101) can display a first screen (201a) or a first screen (201b). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the first screen (201a) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1). The first screen (201a) and the first screen (201b) of FIG. 14B may correspond to the first screen (201a) and the first screen (201b) of FIG. 14A, respectively.
[0241] Referring to FIG. 14B, the electronic device (101) may display a first screen (201a) (or the first screen (201b)) including a background screen (1430) representing an image of an external environment obtainable through a camera (e.g., the camera module (180) of FIG. 1). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may obtain an image of the external environment through the camera while displaying the first screen (201a) (or the first screen (201b)). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the background screen (1430) of the first screen (201a) (or the first screen (201b)) as the image. Accordingly, the user of the electronic device (101) may safely perform the adjustment by visually identifying the external environment during the process of adjusting the azimuth angle within the first range (217). Alternatively, for example, if the background screen (1430) stores weather information for the area where the electronic device (101) is located, the background screen (1430) may include a visual object corresponding to the weather information. In this case, the weather information may be received and stored through another software application (e.g., a weather application) for the area.
[0242] Figures 15a and 15b illustrate examples of a second screen displayed by an electronic device.
[0243] The second screen (202a) of FIGS. 15a and 15b illustrates another example of the second screen (202) of FIG. 2 , the second screens (202) of FIGS. 8a to 8c , the second screen (202) of FIG. 10a , and the second screen (202) of FIG. 11 . In other words, the second screen (202a) may be substantially identically applied to the second screen (202). The same reference numerals may be used for the same description.
[0244] Referring to FIG. 15A, the electronic device (101) can display a second screen (202a). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202a) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1). The second screen (202a) can indicate a screen that guides the user to hold the orientation of the electronic device (101).
[0245] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202a) based on the change in the azimuth angle outside the first range (217) to within the first range (217) according to the movement within the state in which the first screen (201) (or the first screen (201-1), the first screen (201a), the first screen (201b)) is displayed. For example, the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202a) changed from the first screen (201). For example, the second screen (202a) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position. For example, the second screen (202a) may include a visual object (215) indicating a designated range extending from the reference position and including the first range (217). For example, the first range (217) may represent a virtual area that is included in the specified range and is not displayed on the second screen (202a). However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the visual object (215) may further include another visual object representing the first range (217). For example, the second screen (202a) may include a visual object (220) representing the relative position of the satellite with respect to the electronic device (101). For example, the second screen (202a) may include a visual object (240) that includes text guiding to fix the posture of the electronic device (101). The posture of the electronic device (101) may be related to the azimuth that changes according to the movement. For example, the visual object (240) may include text (e.g., Hold this position to send and receive) that guides the user to hold the posture. In the example of the second screen (202a), the visual object (240) may further include another text indicating a transmission status, along with the text guiding the user to fix the posture. For example, in the example of the second screen (202a), the visual object (240) may further include another text indicating a transmission status (e.g., "sending messages").
[0246] According to one embodiment, the second screen (202a) may include a visual object (1510) to indicate that the azimuth is within the first range (217). For example, the visual object (1510) may be displayed within the visual object (210) to indicate the reference position. For example, the visual object (1510) may include an image that simplifies fixing the posture of the electronic device (101) and a background color expressed in a second color. For example, the second color may represent a different color from the first color of FIGS. 14A and 14B . For example, the second color may include black. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the image and the second color may be used to indicate that the azimuth is within the first range (217).
[0247] In one embodiment, the first screen (202a) may include a visual object (1515) to represent the entire range of the azimuth. For example, the visual object (1515) may represent the circle in which the visual object (220) moves. For example, the visual object (1515) may be defined as a range in which the azimuth can be changed from 0° to 360°.
[0248] Referring to FIG. 15b, the electronic device (101) can display a second screen (202a). For example, the electronic device (101) can display the second screen (202a) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1). The second screen (202a) of FIG. 15b can correspond to the second screen (202a) of FIG. 15a.
[0249] Referring to FIG. 15B, the electronic device (101) may display a second screen (202a) including a background screen (1520) representing an image of an external environment obtainable through a camera (e.g., the camera module (180) of FIG. 1). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may obtain an image of the external environment through the camera while displaying the second screen (202a). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the background screen (1520) of the second screen (202a) as the image. Accordingly, the user of the electronic device (101) may safely perform the posture fixation by visually identifying the external environment through the background screen (1520). Alternatively, for example, if the background screen (1520) stores weather information for an area where the electronic device (101) is located, the background screen (1520) may include a visual object corresponding to the weather information. At this time, the weather information may be received and stored through another software application (e.g., a weather application) for the region.
[0250] Figures 16a and 16b illustrate examples of a third screen displayed by an electronic device.
[0251] The third screen (203a) of FIGS. 16a and 16b illustrates another example of the third screen (203) of FIG. 2 , the third screen (203) of FIG. 10a , and the third screen (203) of FIG. 10b . In other words, the third screen (203a) may be substantially identically applied to the third screen (203). The same reference numerals may be used for the same description.
[0252] Referring to FIG. 16A, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203a). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the third screen (203a) through a display (e.g., the display module (160) of FIG. 1). The third screen (203a) may represent a screen for adjusting the altitude angle of the electronic device (101) with respect to the satellite.
[0253] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203a) based on identifying that the elevation angle is outside the second range (1617). For example, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203a) that is changed from the second screen (202) (or the second screen (202a)). For example, the third screen (203a) may represent a screen for adjusting the elevation angle outside the second range (1617) to be positioned within the second range (1617). For example, the third screen (203a) may include a visual object (210) indicating a reference position. For example, the third screen (203a) may include a visual object (1615) indicating a range of the elevation angle based on a plane indicating the azimuth angle of the electronic device (101). For example, the visual object (1615) may be formed as a hemisphere including a circle representing the plane. For example, the visual object (1615) may be defined as a range in which the elevation angle can be changed, from 0° to 180°. For example, the third screen (203a) may include a second range (1617) extending from the visual object (210) and representing a reference range for the elevation angle. For example, the second range (1617) may be displayed in an area on the hemisphere. For example, the third screen (203a) may include a visual object (220) representing a relative position of the satellite. For example, the third screen (203a) may include a visual object (255) guiding a tilting direction for changing the elevation angle of the electronic device (101). For example, the visual object (255) may be displayed within the visual object (210) indicating the reference position. For example, the visual object (255) may be displayed in a state in which it is at least partially overlapped with the visual object (210).For example, the visual object (255) that guides the tilting direction may include an animation indicating the tilting direction. For example, the tilting direction may include up-tilting to increase the elevation angle or down-tilting to decrease the elevation angle. The third screen (203a) may include a visual object (240) that includes text that guides another movement of the electronic device toward the tilting direction. For example, the other movement may include a rotation toward the tilting direction (e.g., forward (or up-tilting) or backward (or down-tilting)). In the example of FIG. 16a, referring to the third screen (203a), the visual object (240) may include the text (e.g., To improve satellite signal, tilt your phone backward) guiding the down-tilting to reduce the elevation angle.
[0254] According to one embodiment, the third screen (203a) may include a visual object (255) having a background color (1610) to indicate that the elevation angle is outside the second range (1617). For example, the background color (1610) may be displayed within the visual object (210) to indicate the reference position. For example, the background color (1610) may be expressed as a third color. For example, the background color (1610) may be different from the first color of FIGS. 14A and 14B and the second color of FIGS. 15A and 15B. For example, the third color may include gray. However, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. For example, the background color (1610) expressed as the third color may be used to indicate that the elevation angle is outside the second range (1617).
[0255] According to one embodiment, the third screen (203a) may further display a visual object (1620) that guides the adjustment of the elevation angle within the second range (1617). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the visual object (1620) in response to identifying that the elevation angle is adjusted by the user of the electronic device (101) while the third screen (203a) is displayed. In FIG. 16A, an example is shown in which a visual object (1620) including both indicators indicating up-tilting and down-tilting is displayed, but this is merely for convenience of explanation. In the case of the example of FIG. 16A, the visual object (1620) may only include an indicator indicating down-tilting to adjust the elevation angle within the second range (1617).
[0256] Referring to FIG. 16B, the electronic device (101) can display a third screen (203a). [0257] Referring to FIG. 16B, the electronic device (101) may display a third screen (203a) including a background screen (1630) representing an image of an external environment obtainable through a camera (e.g., the camera module (180) of FIG. 1). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may obtain an image of the external environment through the camera while displaying the third screen (203a). For example, the electronic device (101) may display the background screen (1630) of the third screen (203a) as the image. Accordingly, the user of the electronic device (101) may safely perform the adjustment by visually identifying the external environment during the process of adjusting the elevation angle within the second range (1617). Alternatively, for example, if the background screen (1630) stores weather information for an area where the electronic device (101) is located, the background screen (1630) may include a visual object corresponding to the weather information. At this time, the weather information may be received and stored through another software application (e.g., a weather application) for the region.

The instructions, when individually or collectively executed by the at least one processor (120), may cause the electronic device (101) to, in response to identifying a quality of the signal that is equal to or greater than a reference quality, display the second screen changed from the first screen through the display (320). The instructions, when individually or collectively executed by the at least one processor (120), may cause the electronic device (101) to, in response to identifying a quality of the signal that is less than the reference quality, display the third screen changed from the first screen through the display (320).
[0271] According to one embodiment, the first range or the second range may be identified based on information related to antennas connected to the communication circuit (330) and for performing communication with the satellite. The information may include at least one of the number of antennas, the directivity of the antennas, the intensity of the signal radiated through the antennas, or the frequency band of the signal.
[0272] According to one embodiment, the azimuth may be identified based on a portion of the coordinate values of a vector indicating a second direction in which antennas connected to the communication circuit (330) radiate signals with respect to a first direction indicated by a sensor (310) of the electronic device (101). The elevation may be identified based on another portion of the coordinate values.
