Description

[0001]A frame arrangement for a trampoline and a trampoline The invention relates to a frame arrangement for a trampoline, and the trampoline comprises a safety net having an upper edge of the safety net, and the frame arrangement comprises leg structures, a horizontal part, and at least four vertical poles extending above the horizontal part when the trampoline is in use, and the safety net is removably attached to the poles to form an enclosure wall, and the pole comprise a first end of the pole and a second end of the pole. BACKGROUND Trampolines are commonly used in outdoor and indoor activities. Trampolines comprise a frame and a rebounding mat connected to the frame with stretching elements such as springs or similar. Further trampolines typically comprise various safety elements to prevent injury of a user such as a safety net and a safety edge pad. A safety net is used to prevent the user of a trampoline from jumping or falling outside of the trampoline jumping area onto the surrounding ground, which could result in injury. A safety edge pad is a padding arranged on top of springs and a frame that helps to prevent injury in case a user jumps or falls on top of the springs or the frame. A safety edge pad is typically attached to the frame of a trampoline and resting on top of the springs of the trampoline. A variety of different trampoline safety net systems are described in patent publications. Conventionally, a safety net is a single enclosure made of flexible barrier material and is removably attached to poles extending upward from the frame of a trampoline to form an enclosure wall around the mat of the trampoline. In order to further reduce the risk of injury, the safety net should be in tension and be able to absorb and store the impact energy so that it returns an errant jumper back onto to the rebounding mat. Attachment of the barrier material, such as safety nets, to the poles can be implemented many ways. Patent publication US6053845 describes one safety net embodiment. However, the described safety net structure is quite complicated and hard to assemble. Although conventional safety net systems are useful, such systems still have several shortcomings. There is a clear need for a simple and reliable trampoline safety net that is safe and easy to set up. The description refers to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 shows an example of a trampoline comprising a frame arrangement according to an embodiment, Figure 2 shows an example a frame arrangement according to an embodiment, Figure 3 shows an example of a tension pole according to an embodiment, Figure 4 shows a detail of the frame arrangement of Figure 2, Figure 5 shows a detail of the frame arrangement of Figure 2, Figure 6a shows the frame arrangement of Figure 2 when the tension pole is in the first position, and Figure 6b shows the frame arrangement of Figure 2 when the tension pole is in the second position. DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF THE FIGURES The embodiments in the following description are given as examples only and someone skilled in the art can carry out the basic idea of the invention also in some other way than what is described in the description. Though the description may refer to a certain embodiment or embodiments in several places, this does not mean that the reference would be directed towards only one described embodiment or that the described characteristic would be usable only in one described embodiment. The individual characteristics of two or more embodiments may be combined and new embodiments of the invention may thus be provided. Figure 1 shows an example of a trampoline 100. The trampoline comprises a frame arrangement 102, a mat 101, an edge pad 104, a safety net 106, and elastic members (not marked in Figure) between the mat and the frame arrangement. In this embodiment, the safety net encircles the trampoline. For sake of clarity, one side of the safety net is left out from Figure 1. It must be noted, that in some embodiments, the safety net may be installed as descripted in the Figure 1. The frame arrangement 102 comprises leg structures 103, a horizontal part 107, and at least and at least four vertical poles 105 extending above the horizontal part when the trampoline is in use. The frame arrangement parts are assembled from hollow tubes or similar elongated bodies. The edge pad 104 covers the horizontal part, the elastic members and edges of the mat. The safety net 106 is attached to the poles. The safety net comprises an upper edge 121. The safety net comprises attaching arrangements to attach the safety net. The attaching arrangements are arranged to the upper edge of the safety net. In some embodiments, the safety net comprises at the upper edge of the safety net a reinforcing structure. The reinforcing structure is, for example, a line, a rope, a wire, a strip, a band or similar structure fixed on the upper edge of the safety net for reinforcing the safety net. In some embodiment, the reinforcing structure is made of elastic material so that it can absorb and store an impact energy. The attaching arrangements are fixed on the reinforcing structure or the upper edge of the safety net. In some embodiments, the attaching arrangements are fastening loops that are configured to be attached upper ends of the poles. In some embodiments, the safe net comprises casings at the side edges through which the vertical poles are carried to attach the safety net to the poles. Naturally, there other ways to attach the safety net to the poles. The leg structures 103 are fixed to the horizontal part 107. When the trampoline 100 comprising the frame arrangement 102 is in use the leg structures are below the horizontal part. In this embodiment, the horizontal part is rectangular. Naturally, the horizontal part can be other shape, for example circle or oval. The horizontal part is a continuous structure defining shape and centre area of the trampoline. The mat 101 and the edge pad 104 are in the centre area of the trampoline. The mat 101 and the edge pad 104 form surface of the trampoline. The horizontal part defines a plane that is parallel or congruent to the surface of the trampoline. The elastic members are fixed to the horizontal part and the mat. In this embodiment, the horizontal part comprises four corners and four poles at the corners and additional poles at sides of the trampoline. The poles are attached to the horizontal part using locking arrangements. In some embodiments, the locking arrangements are at least partly formed to the structures of the horizontal part. In some embodiments, the locking arrangements are openings in the frame arrangement (for example in the horizontal part and the leg structures) and the poles are positioned in said openings. The attached poles extend above the surface of the trampoline, i.e. above the horizontal part. Figure 2 shows the frame arrangement 102. The frame arrangement corresponds to the frame arrangement and the trampoline presented in Figure 1. The frame arrangement 102 comprises leg structures 103, a horizontal part 107, and vertical poles 105 extending above the horizontal part. The horizontal part defines the centre part of the trampoline, i.e. the centre part of the trampoline is inside the horizontal part. The poles comprise a first end of the pole 109 and a second end of the pole 110. The first ends of the poles are attached to the rest of the frame arrangement. The second ends of the poles are upper ends of the poles. At least two of the vertical poles are tension poles 108. The tension poles comprise a fold of the tension pole (not marked in Figure), i.e. the tension pole is bended. This means that the tension pole comprises at least two parts having longitudinal axes having different directions, i.e. they are not parallel each other. When the tension poles are attached, they are rotatable around the longitudinal axis of the part of the tension pole that is attached to the rest of the frame arrangement. The tension pole can be rotated into a position where the second end of the tension pole is above the centre part of the trampoline, i.e. one bended part of the tension pole is inclined inwards in relation to the frame arrangement. This means that distance between the second end of the tension pole and the mat (the surface of the trampoline) can be altered. When the tension poles are inward inclined, the safety net is easier to attach to the poles compared to the situation where the poles are vertical. When the safety net is attached to the poles, the tension poles are rotated to a position where the upper edge of the safety net is tightened compared to the situation where the safety net was attached to the poles. This means that the attached safety net can be tightened by rotating the tension poles. The frame arrangement 102 comprises tension pole locking arrangements and when the safety net is tightened, the tension poles are locked. The tension poles and the tension pole locking arrangements are configured in such a way that the tension pole is at least rotatable between two positions: a first position and a second position. The first position is a safety net attachment position, and the second position is a lockable tightening position for the safety net. In the second position the upper edge of the attached safety net is tighter than in the first position. The position of the tension pole in the second position depends on the properties of the safety net, i.e. how much the second ends of the tension poles should be moved in order to achieve the desired state of tightness of the safety net. It must be noted, that in some embodiments all poles 105 are tension poles 108. Figure 3 shows a detailed view of embodiment of the tension pole 108 presented in Figure 2. The tension pole 108 is an elongated body. In this embodiment, the tension pole is a hollow tube. The tension pole comprises the first end of the pole 109 and the second end of the pole 110. When the tension pole is in use, i.e. installed in the trampoline, the first end of the pole is bottom end and the second end is top end. The safety net is attached at least to the second end of the pole or near it. The tension pole comprises the fold 111 of the tension pole. The tension pole is bent with the fold into two parts in different directions. The angle between said parts is an angle of the fold. In some embodiments, the angle of the fold is between 2 and 5 degrees. In some embodiments, the angle of the fold is 3 degrees. The inventors have found out that this angle is suitable for most of safety net installations. However, in some cases, other angles should be used. In some embodiments, there are more than one fold in the tension pole. In this embodiment, the fold is near the first end of the pole 109. In some embodiments, the distance between the fold and the first end of the tension pole is less than one fifth of the length of the tension pole. In some embodiments, the distance between the fold and the first end is substantially the same or slightly more as installation depth of the tension pole. The installation depth is length of the part of the tension pole that is inside the tension pole locking arrangement when the tension pole is installed. The installation depth defines an installation part of the tension pole. Advantageously, when the tension pole is positioned into the tension pole locking arrangement, between the fold and upper surface of the tension pole locking arrangement is a distance. In this embodiment, the tension pole 108 comprises top cap 113 attached to the second end of the pole 110. The top cap comprises the second end safety net fixing arrangement 114. Advantageously, the second end safety net fixing arrangement is configured in such a way that the attachment of the safety net does not prevent the rotation of the tension pole. The second end safety net fixing arrangement comprises a rotating part and the safety net is fixed to said rotating part. When the tension pole, where the safety net is fixed, is rotated from the first position to the second position, the safety net keeps the rotating part in its position in relation to the safety net. This means that the tension pole turns under the rotating part. In this embodiment, the tension pole comprises two parts that are connected together with a joint 115. The join is a joint structure that connects two hollow tubes. In this embodiment, the tension pole 108 comprises a first end rotating hole 116. The first end rotating hole is used for rotating the tension pole by setting an accessory tool in the first end rotating hole and then rotating the tension pole. In this embodiment, the first end rotating hole is above the fold 111. There are embodiments, where the first end rotating hole is between the fold and the first end of the pole 109. The distance between the first end of the pole and the first end rotating hole is more than the installation depth of the tension pole. In this embodiment, in the installation part is a first end fixing arrangement 112. This is used for fixing the tension pole 108 in a predetermined position when the tension pole is positioned in the tension pole locking arrangement. In some embodiments, the first end fixing arrangement is a hole and the tension pole locking arrangement further comprises a pin for locking the tension pole in the predetermined position. In some embodiments, the first end fixing arrangement is a spring pin configured to fit into a hole in the tension pole locking arrangement. Said predetermined position is the second position. In some embodiments, the pin of the spring pin is seen from the hole in the tension pole locking arrangement so that it works as an indicator that the tension pole is locked in the second position. In some embodiments, the tension pole locking arrangement comprise several holes for the first end fixing arrangement. Figures 4 and 5 show a detail of the frame arrangement 102 of Figure 2. In Figure 4 the tension pole 108 is separated from the rest of the frame arrangement. In Figure 5 the tension pole is installed to the tension pole locking arrangement 119 and pole in the second position. Both Figures are explained here together. The frame arrangement 102 comprises the leg structure 103, the horizontal part 107, the tension pole 108 and the tension pole locking arrangement 119. In this embodiment, the tension pole and the tension pole locking arrangement are on the corner of the horizontal part. The tension pole 108 comprises the first end of the tension pole 109, the fold 111, the first end rotating hole 116 and the first end fixing arrangement 112. In this embodiment, the first end rotating hole is above the fold. The tension pole locking arrangement 119 is implemented to the corner of the horizontal part 107. The tension pole locking arrangement 119 comprises the opening 120. The opening is cylindrical and it comprises walls of the opening. The opening and the walls of the opening define receiving space for the tension pole 108, and more specifically for the installation part of the tension pole. In this embodiment, the tension pole locking arrangement comprises the first locking arrangement hole 117. The first locking arrangement hole is configured to receive the first end fixing arrangement 112 and to lock the tension pole 108 in the second position i.e. the position where the safety net is tightened and the trampoline is ready for use. In some embodiments, the tension pole locking arrangement comprises the second locking arrangement hole for lock the tension pole in the first position. The first position is used for attaching the safety net to the tension poles (and regular poles, if there is any). In this embodiment, the first end fixing arrangement 112 is a hole and a spring pin 118 that is arranged inside of the installation part of the tension pole in such a way that the pin of the spring pin is in the hole. In the Figure 4 the spring pin is taken out from the installation part of the tension pole. The pin of the spring pin is configured to fit into the first locking arrangement hole 117 in the tension pole locking arrangement. In the Figure 5 the pin of the spring pin 118 is seen in the first locking arrangement hole so that it works as an indicator that the tension pole is locked in the second position. When the tension pole 108 is installed into the tension pole locking arrangement 119 (Figure 5) the installation part is arranged in such a way that the first end rotating hole 116 is visible, i.e. it is not inside the receiving space for the tension pole. Using some accessory tool, it is possible to rotate the tension pole. Of course, there are embodiment, where rotation of the tension pole is implemented differently. For example, the tension pole above the tension pole locking arrangement comprise shapes for providing grip for some accessory tool. In some embodiments, the leg structure 103 comprises a longitudinal axis and the installation part comprises a longitudinal axis. When the tension pole 108 is installed into the tension pole locking arrangement, the longitudinal axis of the leg structure and the longitudinal axis of the installation part are congruent, i.e. they share a common longitudinal axis. This means that the installation part and the leg structure form a straight virtual pole like structure. By virtual, it is meant that the straight structure is not continuous, there is the tension pole locking arrangement between the leg structure and the installation part. Figures 6A and 6B show examples of the first position (6A) and the second position (6B) of the tension pole 108 of the frame arrangement 102. The frame arrangement corresponds to the frame arrangement shown in Figure 2. Figures 6A and 6B show detail of the corner of the frame arrangement 102. In Figures are shown one leg structure 103, one corner of the horizontal part 107, one vertical pole 105 and one tension pole 108. The poles are attached to the rest of the frame arrangement. The poles have the second end of the pole 110, i.e. the upper end of the pole. The frame arrangement further comprises pole locking arrangements. In this embodiments, the pole locking arrangements are in points where leg structures are connected to the horizontal part. Figure 6A shows the tension pole 108 in the first position. The first position is a position where the tension pole is configured to receive attaching arrangements of the safety net, i.e. the position where the safety net is to be attached to the frame arrangement 102. The tension pole is rotated in such a way that the tension pole is inclined towards the centre area of the trampoline, i.e. vertical line defined by the second end of the tension pole 110 is inside of the area defined by the horizontal part 107. In the first position the safety net can be loose, which means it is easier to attach to the poles. Figure 6B shows the tension pole 108 in the second position. The second position is a position where the tension pole is configured to tighten the safety net, and more specifically, the upper edge of the safety net. In this embodiment, the tension pole is inclined outwards the centre area of the trampoline, i.e. vertical line defined by the second end of the tension pole 110 is outside of the area defined by the horizontal part 107. When the safety net is attached to the tension poles and the safety net is tightened, the tightened safety net bends the tension poles inward so that the second ends of the tension poles are above the horizontal part, i.e. the tension poles are substantially vertical. Of course, there are embodiments where in the second positions the second ends of the tension poles are positioned differently, for example they are set above the horizontal part. It must be noted that there are embodiments, where the second positions of the different tension poles are different, i.e. they are locked in different positions. Also, in some embodiments, the first positions of the tension poles does not need to be exactly defined. During attachment of the safety net the tension poles may be rotated for helping the attachment process. Advantageously, in the first position, the distances between the second ends of the tensions poles 110 are less than in the second position. Some advantageous embodiments of the method and apparatus according to the invention have been described above. The invention is, however, not limited to the embodiments described above, but the inventive idea can be applied in numerous ways within the scope of the claims.
