Abstract

Method and system for creating Augmented Reality digital landmarks via photo-mosaics and online communities of participants thereof is disclosed. The presently disclosed subject matter relates to computerized systems and more particularly to creating purpose-specific and exact-location digital landmarks (two-dimensional (2D), three-dimensional (3D), or holographic) based on photo-mosaic technology, to be experienced via Augmented / Extended Reality gear, which enable and promote the formation of purpose-specific online communities among participating members. The invention aims at: Creating digital landmark objects and impactful virtual murals and art installations that raise awareness for important causes and bring people together (two-dimensional (2D), three-dimensional (3D), or holographic). Building purpose-specific digital fixed landmarks through AR-accessed photomosaics, and social media platforms; harnessing the power of images to unite global citizens around shared goals and values (creating purpose-specific online communities). Launching crowdfunding campaigns and shared Non-Fungible Token projects (NFT) to provide wider visibility and funding for e.g. socially good initiatives.

Claims

1 Claims 1. A computerized method for creating purpose-specific online communities of participants and purpose-specific digital landmarks, such as photo-mosaics experienced via Augmented / Extended Reality modalities, using a processor of a participant’s device the method being characterized in that it comprises: receiving an offering to access a QR code, or receiving a push notification with embedded link, or otherwise receiving such a link; upon clicking on such a link, opening a new browser page with dedicated URL; starting loading the interactive engine for generating mosaics with photos and videos serving as tiles to the photo mosaic; receiving a request to allow activation of advanced functionalities of the participant’s device; displaying the photo / video mosaic on the device screen via Augmented Reality software, as if permanently residing on location, whereby the superimposed mosaic serves as a clickable button; loading of instructions regarding how to interact with the mosaic; upon the users clicking on the clickable button of the superimposed mosaic, inviting them to participate in the mosaic via their online submission of photos and videos, which action only becomes accessible to participants upon their prior third-party login; upon clicking on the mosaic, transferring participants in the environment of interactive engines generating photo mosaics; wherein such interactive mosaic engines, assisted by Artificial Intelligence, optimally combine the individual submitted photos to formulate photo-mosaics, in an automated way; wherein the surface of such photomosaics may be divided in multiple sections, each of which commanding different properties, adhering to different commercial principles.
