Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] OINTMENT-CONTAINING ADULT DIAPER
[0003] Technical Field
[0004] The invention relates to an ointment-containing adult diaper consisting of six different layers, comprising an ointment layer containing zinc oxide, petrolatum, lanolin, aloe vera, and panthenol, which provides antibacterial, moisturizing, and wound-healing effects, and, by means of its ointment-containing layer, forms a protective barrier on the skin to provide effective protection against diaper rash, redness, and wounds.
[0005] Background of the Invention
[0006] Adult diapers are medical products used for elderly individuals, people with limited mobility, patients suffering from incontinence (urinary or fecal leakage), and during post-surgical care processes. Urinary or fecal incontinence is a common condition among elderly individuals and patients with neurological disorders. In addition, their use is widespread for patients who are bedridden or unable to move after surgery. These diapers are developed to meet personal hygienic needs, protect skin health, and improve daily quality of life.
[0007] The main purposes of using adult diapers are as follows:
[0008] • Ensuring and Maintaining Hygiene: Diapers are used to maintain the hygiene of individuals experiencing incontinence. Since urinary or fecal leakage may cause skin irritation, redness, and infection, diapers absorb urine or feces, help keep the skin dry, and prevent potential health problems.
[0009] • Protecting Skin Health: The parts of adult diapers that come into contact with the skin are generally made of soft and breathable materials. This minimizes potential skin irritation and redness. In particular, ointment-containing diapers take this purpose to a higher level, preventing irritation and wounds with skinfriendly creams. • Improving Quality of Life: Urinary or fecal incontinence can cause shame, loss of self-confidence, and social isolation. Diapers support these individuals in comfortably performing their daily activities and participating in social life.
[0010] • Facilitating Care: Diapers are also an important aid for caregivers and healthcare personnel. They make patient care easier and help maintain hygiene. Thus, they reduce the time and difficulties associated with changing the patient’s diaper and make the care process more efficient.
[0011] Adult diapers, thanks to their high absorbent properties, quickly absorb urine and feces and lock them inside. With this feature, they prevent leakage and direct contact with the skin.
[0012] Diapers, with their ergonomic designs and easy-to-wear-and-remove structures, offer ease of use; their elastic bands and adjustable structures increase the fit of the diaper to the body and provide comfort during use. In addition, adult diapers, thanks to their odor-retaining properties, prevent the formation of unpleasant odors caused by urine or feces and stop them from spreading to the environment.
[0013] Although adult diapers offer many advantages, they also have disadvantages. These disadvantages may affect user comfort and satisfaction. Continuous use of diapers may cause irritation and redness on the skin due to friction and prolonged moisture. In such cases, the skin may be damaged and the risk of infection may increase.
[0014] Long-term use of diapers, especially for bedridden patients, may lead to the formation of bedsores. These wounds represent a serious health problem and carry an infection risk if left untreated.
[0015] Compared to traditional adult diapers, the ointment-containing adult diaper invention includes significant innovations and advantages. The invention has been specially developed with a formula aimed at protecting and treating skin health. The main innovations and advantages of the ointment-containing adult diaper invention compared to existing products can be listed as follows: • The ointment-containing adult diaper invention has properties that prevent the skin from remaining constantly moist and irritated. It forms a protective barrier on the skin to prevent the formation of diaper rash, redness, and wounds. Thanks to its content of zinc oxide, petrolatum, lanolin, aloe vera, and panthenol, it moisturizes and soothes the skin and accelerates the healing of skin damage. In particular, its zinc oxide content prevents irritation caused by the diaper and inhibits the formation of microbial organisms.
[0016] • The ointment-containing adult diaper invention has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Thus, it prevents the growth of microbes and bacteria on the skin surface and provides effective protection against skin infections. Especially for patients with restricted mobility, where bedsores and skin infections can be major problems, the ointment-containing adult diaper invention offers a solution.
[0017] • The ointment-containing adult diaper invention contains components that accelerate the healing of skin wounds and irritations. Zinc oxide forms a barrier on the skin to accelerate wound healing, while natural ingredients such as lanolin and aloe vera help maintain the skin’s moisture balance, nourish the skin, and support cell regeneration.
[0018] • Since the ointment-containing adult diaper invention has an ointment content in the part that comes into direct contact with the skin, it eliminates the need for patients and caregivers to apply an additional cream.
[0019] The substances and properties contained in the ointment-containing adult diaper invention can be listed as follows:
[0020] • Zinc Oxide: Zinc oxide forms a protective barrier on the skin surface. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, it prevents the occurrence of irritation and redness. It accelerates the healing of existing irritations and wounds on the skin. By exhibiting antimicrobial properties, it reduces the risk of infection on the skin. Zinc oxide has been used as a main component in the ointment layer of the invention. It has been integrated into the skin-contacting surface of the diaper in order to form a protective layer on the skin to prevent irritations and to help repair existing skin damage. • Petrolatum: Petrolatum provides an intense moisturizing effect on the skin and softens it. It forms a barrier on the skin to prevent moisture loss and protects the skin against external factors. It has a nourishing effect for dry skin and increases skin elasticity. Petrolatum is one of the main components of the protective barrier created by the ointment layer of the invention on the skin. It has been used to maintain the skin’s moisture balance and to prevent dryness-related irritations.
[0021] • Lanolin: Lanolin deeply moisturizes and softens the skin. It acts as a barrier on the skin, reducing water loss and preventing dryness. It can be safely used even on sensitive skin and prevents the formation of microcracks on the skin. Lanolin has been used to enhance the moisturizing and skin-repairing effect of the ointment layer of the invention. It has been added to keep the skin continuously moist, prevent irritation, and support skin health.
[0022] • Aloe Vera: Aloe vera has a soothing and cooling effect on the skin. With its antiinflammatory properties, it reduces redness and irritation of the skin. It supports the regeneration of skin cells and helps wounds heal faster. With its antimicrobial properties, it reduces the risk of infection on the skin. Aloe vera has been used in the ointment layer of the invention to soothe possible skin irritations and redness. At the same time, with its moisturizing and nourishing effects, it undertakes the task of protecting and repairing skin health.
[0023] • Panthenol (Provitamin B5): Panthenol deeply moisturizes the skin and increases skin elasticity. It strengthens the skin barrier and supports the repair of skin cells. With its anti-inflammatory effect, it reduces irritation and itching on the skin. Panthenol has been used in the ointment layer of the invention to maintain the skin’s moisture balance and to ensure the rapid healing of minor skin damage. It is an ideal moisturizer and soothing agent, especially for dry and sensitive skin.
[0024] The substances used in the ointment layer of the ointment-containing adult diaper invention have been integrated into the skin-contacting surface of the diaper and provide properties that protect skin health, prevent irritations, and support healing. The ointment layer supported by these substances ensures that the diaper acquires a skin-friendly and restorative structure. In this way, even during long-term use, the diaper prevents irritation and wound formation on the skin, accelerates the healing of existing wounds, and supports the maintenance of healthy skin. The structural and characteristic features and all the advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood due to the figures and detailed descriptions provided below and, thus the assessment should be made considering this detailed description.
