AI Technical Summary
Existing pesticide spraying machines are not effectively cleaned to remove residual herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides, leading to potential contamination and inefficiencies in subsequent pesticide applications.
A cleaning method for pesticide spraying machines using a combination of solvents and surfactants to dissolve and remove residual pesticides, followed by rinsing with water and sanitization to ensure thorough cleaning.
The method effectively removes residual pesticides, ensuring the machines are ready for subsequent applications without contamination, thereby improving operational efficiency and safety.
Abstract
Description
30%, and 40% of the rate before cleaning. These levels may be confirmed by chemical analysis or by bioassay using test organisms.
[0024] Examples of the pesticide spraying machine to be cleaned in the present method include a backpack carbon dioxide gas sprayer, a backpack power sprayer, a boom sprayer, a speed sprayer, pesticide spraying drone and the like. In particular, a boom sprayer is preferable. The boom sprayer may be self-propelled or towed by a tractor. The scale of the pesticide spraying machine is not particularly limited, but is usually 1 L to 10,000 L, preferably 200 to 5,000 L, and more preferably 1,000 to 3,000 L, based on the tank capacity.
[0025] Examples of the active ingredients of pesticides in the present method include herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, safeners and the like. These active ingredients may be residues on the article, but independently, if the article is a pesticide spraying machine, they may also be sprayed by the spraying machine after cleaning. Examples of herbicides include the following: 2,3,6-TBA (2,3,6-trichlorobenzoic acid), 2,3,6-TBA-dimethylammonium, 2,3,6-TBA-lithium, 2,3,6-TBA-potassium, 2,3,6-TBA-sodium, 2,4-D, 2,4-D choline salt, By washing with the liquid washing composition of the present invention, the phytotoxicity on cotton plants was significantly reduced. 15

[0049] Test Example 9 A plurality of contaminated hoses were obtained in the same manner as in Test Examples 1 to 3. After rinsing the inside of the hoses with tap water for 20 seconds, a prescribed cleaning liquid composition was filled into the hoses as a cleaning process, followed by being left to stand at 30°C for 24 hours. The cleaning liquid composition was removed from the hoses, and the inside of the hoses was rinsed again with tap water for 20 seconds. Then, a water dilution of 0.83% volume of SelectMax and 1% volume of Agri Dex assumed to be sprayed in the subsequent step was filled into the hoses, followed by being left to stand at 30°C for 1 hour. The contents were sprayed over the foliage of American cotton plants in the cotyledon stage grown in pots at a spray volume of 15 gallons / acre (about 140 L / ha). The herbicidal effect 7 days after spraying was visually evaluated [0 (no effect) - 100 (completely withered)]. The results are shown in Table 9. The cleaning effect is expressed by low phytotoxicity in Table 9. By washing with the liquid washing composition of the present invention, the phytotoxicity on cotton plants was significantly reduced.
