AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Fiber management in fiber optic telecommunications systems faces challenges with increasing fiber-count densities, particularly in data centers, where existing devices require additional space and volume beyond the rack-unit, complicating patch cord and cable management.

Method used

A telecommunications panel with a fiber management tray and cable management guide, featuring an adjustment arm assembly that allows for depth adjustment and flexible mounting, along with a cable routing system that includes a guide frame with articulatable sidewalls for efficient cable access and routing.

Benefits of technology

Facilitates efficient fiber and cable management within limited rack space, accommodating high fiber densities like 288 fibers per RU, and simplifies installation and assembly, supporting multiple RU configurations without needing additional rack space.

Abstract

A telecommunications panel includes a body having a cassette opening, a fiber management tray, and a cable management guide. An adjustment arm assembly is attachable to the frame and includes a first sleeve having a first mount interface attachable to the frame and a second sleeve having a second mount interface attachable to the fiber management tray. The first sleeve includes a first sleeve opening configured to receive a latch assembly selectively permitting adjustment of the second sleeve along a depth direction to and from the first sleeve. The fiber management tray is attachable to the second mount interface. The tray includes a platform having a platform opening. The cable management guide includes a guide frame having a plurality of sidewalls with a selectively openable passage providing access to a cable routing area. An insert member extends from the guide frame and is selectively positioned into the platform opening. 20 25 20 02 99 16 J an 2 02 5 T E L E C O M M U N I C A T I O N S P A N E L A N D F I B E R M A N A G E M E N T S T R U C T U R E S 2 0 2 5 2 0 0 2 9 9 1 6 J a n 2 0 2 5 T E L E C O M M U N I C A T I O N S P A N E L A N D F I B E R M A N A G E M E N T S T R U C T U R E S 2 0 2 5 2 0 0 2 9 9 1 6 J a n 2 0 2 5
