1 / 4 CONSTRUCTIONAL ARRANGEMENT IN SLIDING ROOF FOR CARGO VEHICLES
[01] The present utility model describes a sliding cover for cargo vehicles. More specifically, it comprises a protective cover that prevents exposure of the drive mechanism of the cables that pull the support arches of the cover.
[02] Tarping trucks is a common procedure in the cargo transportation sector, with various construction arrangements planned, aimed at facilitating and protecting the operator, especially due to the need to work at height.
[03] The state of the art describes various mechanisms for tarping trucks.
[04] Document BR102012013641 describes an extendable cover device for cargo vehicles in which the cover consists of multiple arch-shaped support elements, to which a suitable canvas is attached, provided with means to slide on guides existing in the cargo box, these elements being joined by a pantographic mechanism, which allows accordion-like movement, through the reciprocal approach or separation of the arches, enabling the cover to be retracted to either end of the cargo box, freeing almost the entire area thereof for loading and unloading operations. The present invention also provides extenders, which in their assembled condition act as external supports for the cover, allowing said cover to be removed in its shade upwards from said extenders and completely removed from the area of the cargo box, freeing 100% of the box area for loading and unloading operations. [05] Document BR202012012928 describes a constructive arrangement in a movable cover for cargo vehicles comprising a series of transverse support arches that move longitudinally along the cargo bed, associated with a cover that folds like an accordion. The operation is manual, carried out by means of a side crank attached to a support and associated with a pair of pulleys, connected by means of cables to pairs of vertically arranged rear pulleys, which divert said cable to pairs of horizontally arranged front pulleys on the front edge of the cargo box, configured so as to cause a front crossing of the cable. A constructive variant of the model provides that the operation is carried out from the front of the cargo bed, through a crank coupled to one of the front pulleys.
[06] Document BR202012012927 describes a sliding cover arrangement for cargo vehicles in which a series of transverse support arches move longitudinally along the cargo bed, associated with a cover that is attached to said arches at predetermined points along their length, so as to fold and form an accordion. The arches slide on skids and are pulled by cables associated with pulleys, operated by a crank, speed reducer and cardan shaft. Alternatively, the mobile cover drive can be electric.
[07] The state-of-the-art documents describe a retractable canvas that slides by means of sliding skids that move on the upper profile of the implement, actuated by a mechanical assembly. [08] However, the exposed mechanical assembly is subject to the effects of time, with water ingress causing premature wear on the parts, in addition to the aesthetic and even safety issues, keeping moving elements protected by a cover that prevents access by the operator's hands.

[019] At the ends of the arches (20) there are provided skates (21) which allow the movement of said arches (20) along the longitudinal rails (10) by means of traction by cables (40) driven by pulleys (41) installed on the longitudinal rails (10).
[020] On the rear transverse edge of the bucket is installed a transverse rail (11) with a drive mechanism whose transmission shaft (50) drives a double pulley (51) that moves the cable (40) which moves the arches (20) on the longitudinal rails (10).
[021] The drive mechanism can be an electric motor or a gearbox operated by a crank.

CONSTRUCTIONAL ARRANGEMENT IN SLIDING COVER FOR CARGO VEHICLES comprising longitudinal rails (10) arranged in the cargo bed of a vehicle in which a series of support arches (20) move transversely in a cargo bed, the cover (30) and skids (21) being fixed to said arches (20) which move the arches (20) by means of traction by cables (40) driven by pulleys (41) installed in the longitudinal rails (10), characterized by having on the rear transverse edge of the cargo bed a rail (11) with a drive mechanism whose transmission shaft (50) drives a double pulley (51) that moves the cable (40) which displaces the arches (20) in the longitudinal rails (10), the transverse (11) and longitudinal (10) rails having a cover (60) overlapping.
