Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] This invention belongs to the field of control technology for electronic devices, and particularly relates to control methods, control devices, and electronic devices for electronic devices. Background Technology
[0002] When electronic devices are performing various applications and tasks, a progress bar will appear on the display interface. Users can quickly adjust the progress of applications and tasks or change certain parameters of the electronic device by adjusting the position of the slider in the progress bar. For example, a progress bar is displayed at the bottom of the video or audio playback interface, and users can drag the slider in the progress bar to quickly adjust the playback position of the file; a progress bar will also appear in the function setting interface of the electronic device, such as the volume adjustment interface and the brightness adjustment interface, and users can drag the slider in the progress bar to adjust the volume and brightness of the electronic device.
[0003] Currently, an increasing number of electronic devices have gesture recognition capabilities, allowing users to adjust the position of a slider in a progress bar using gestures. However, users can only make coarse adjustments to the slider's position at present; adjusting it to the desired location is quite difficult, increasing the user's operational burden.
[0004] Therefore, how to improve the control method of electronic devices so that users can easily and accurately adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar, thereby achieving precise control of the electronic devices, is a problem that urgently needs to be solved by those skilled in the art. Summary of the Invention
[0005] In view of this, the purpose of the present invention is to provide an electronic device and a control method and control device thereof, which can conveniently and accurately adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar to achieve precise control of the electronic device.

[0010] When the operation gesture is a first type of gesture, the position of the slider in the progress bar is adjusted by a step length;
[0011] When the operation gesture is a second type of gesture, the position of the slider in the progress bar is adjusted by a second step.
[0012] The length of the first step is different from the length of the second step.
[0013] On the other hand, the present invention also discloses a control device for an electronic device, the electronic device including a display unit displaying a progress bar, and further including an image acquisition unit or an external image acquisition unit, the control device comprising:
[0014] The image acquisition unit is used to acquire the image acquired by the image acquisition unit;
[0015] An image parsing unit is used to parse the image and determine the user's operation gestures contained in the image;
[0016] A first control unit is configured to adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar by a step length when the operation gesture is a first type of gesture;
[0017] The second control unit is used to adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar by a second step when the operation gesture is a second type of gesture;
[0018] The length of the first step is different from the length of the second step.
[0019] The present invention also discloses an electronic device, including a display unit that displays a progress bar, an image acquisition unit or an external image acquisition unit, and the control device described above.
[0020] Therefore, the beneficial effects of this invention are as follows: The control method for an electronic device disclosed in this invention involves the electronic device acquiring images through its own or an external image acquisition unit, then parsing the images to obtain the user's operation gestures contained within them. When the operation gesture is a first type of gesture, the position of the slider in the progress bar is adjusted by a first step length; when the operation gesture is a second type of gesture, the position of the slider in the progress bar is adjusted by a second step length different from the first step length. [0031] To make the objectives, technical solutions, and advantages of the embodiments of the present invention clearer, the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Obviously, the described embodiments are only some embodiments of the present invention, not all embodiments. Based on the embodiments of the present invention, all other embodiments obtained by those skilled in the art without creative effort are within the scope of protection of the present invention.
[0032] This invention discloses a control method for an electronic device. The electronic device includes a display unit capable of displaying a progress bar. This progress bar can be displayed on an application interface (such as a video playback interface or an audio playback interface) or on a function setting interface (such as a volume adjustment interface, brightness adjustment interface, or contrast adjustment interface). Additionally, the electronic device includes an image acquisition unit or an external image acquisition unit. The electronic device disclosed in this invention can be a smart TV, tablet computer, or laptop computer, or other electronic devices with gesture recognition capabilities. Based on the control method disclosed in this invention, the position of the slider in the progress bar can be conveniently and accurately adjusted, achieving precise control of the electronic device.
[0033] Example 1
[0034] See Figure 1 , Figure 1 This is a flowchart of a control method for an electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 1 of the present invention. The display unit in the electronic device displays a progress bar, and the control method includes:
[0035] Step S11: Acquire the image acquired by the image acquisition unit.
[0036] The image acquisition unit in the electronic device captures images of objects located in front of the device in real time. When a user performs a gesture operation in front of the electronic device, the image captured by the image acquisition unit includes the user's gesture.
[0037] Step S12: Analyze the image to determine the user's gestures contained in the image.
[0038] The image acquired from the image acquisition unit is analyzed to determine the user's gestures contained within the image. These gestures could be used to adjust the position of a slider in a progress bar, or to control the electronic device to perform other operations.
[0039] Step S13: When the operation gesture is a first type of gesture, adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar by the first step length.
[0040] Step S14: When the operation gesture is a second type of gesture, adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar with a second step length, wherein the second step length is different from the first step length.
[0041] Both the user's first and second type of gestures are used to trigger the electronic device to adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar. However, the electronic device's response strategy to the user's first and second type of gestures is different. Specifically, when the electronic device determines that it has received the user's first type of gesture, it adjusts the slider's position in the progress bar by a first step length. When it determines that it has received the user's second type of gesture, it adjusts the slider's position in the progress bar by a second step length that is different from the first step length.
[0042] For users, performing one type of gesture triggers the electronic device to coarsely adjust the slider's position within the progress bar, while performing another type of gesture triggers finer adjustments. Specifically, when the first step is longer than the second step, the user can perform one or more of the first type of gesture to coarsely adjust the slider's position within the progress bar over a larger range. After roughly adjusting the slider to the target position, the user can then perform one or more of the second type of gesture to finely adjust the slider's position within the progress bar, thus achieving precise adjustment of the slider's position.
[0043] The control method for an electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 1 of this invention involves the electronic device acquiring images through its own or an external image acquisition unit, then parsing the images to obtain user gestures contained within them. When the gesture is a first type of gesture, the position of the slider in the progress bar is adjusted by a first step length; when the gesture is a second type of gesture, the position of the slider in the progress bar is adjusted by a second step length different from the first step length. Based on the control method for the electronic device disclosed in this invention, the user, by executing either the first or second type of gesture, triggers the electronic device to adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar by correspondingly different step lengths. After coarsely adjusting the position of the slider in the progress bar by executing one type of gesture, a fine adjustment is then made by executing another type of gesture, making the adjustment of the slider position more accurate and achieving precise control of the electronic device.
[0044] It should be noted that the first step length and the second step length can be preset values or preset percentages of the entire progress bar.
[0045] For example, in an audio or video playback interface, the progress bar displayed indicates the duration of the currently playing file. The first and second steps can be set to different durations, such as a first step of 5 minutes and a second step of 1 minute. In the parameter adjustment interface of an electronic device (such as volume, brightness, and contrast adjustment), the display bar indicates the adjustment range of the parameter. For example, one end of the progress bar might represent 0, and the other end 100. In this case, the first and second steps can be set to different values, such as a first step of 10 and a second step of 1.
[0046] When an electronic device runs video or audio applications, the length of the file being played may vary, and correspondingly, the length of time represented by the progress bar on the interface will also differ, sometimes significantly. For example, when a video application is playing a movie, which is typically over 2 hours long, the progress bar will represent over 2 hours of playback time. However, when playing a TV series, which is typically only 45 minutes long, the progress bar will represent only 45 minutes of playback time. Therefore, when the electronic device's display unit shows a video or audio playback interface, the first and second step lengths are preferably set to a preset percentage of the entire progress bar. In other words, the absolute adjustment values of the first and second step lengths are related to the length of time represented by the progress bar.
[0047] In practice, the user's first and second types of gestures can be varied, as long as the electronic device can distinguish them in order to execute different subsequent processing strategies. These will be explained separately below.
[0048] Example 2
[0049] See Figure 2 , Figure 2 This is a flowchart of a control method for an electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 2 of the present invention. The control method includes:
[0050] Step S21: Acquire the image acquired by the image acquisition unit.
[0051] Step S22: Analyze the image to determine the user's gestures contained in the image.
[0052] Step S23: When the operation gesture is a first gesture that moves along the first direction, move the slider along the first direction by a step length.
[0053] Step S24: When the operation gesture is the first gesture that moves along the second direction, move the slider along the second direction by the first step length.
[0054] Step S25: When the operation gesture is a second gesture that moves along the first direction, move the slider along the first direction with a second step length.
[0055] Step S26: When the operation gesture is a second gesture that moves along the second direction, move the slider along the second direction with a second step length.
[0056] During the operation of the electronic device, the slider in the progress bar can be controlled to slide from its current position towards either the first or second end of the progress bar. In this embodiment, the first type of gesture includes a first gesture moving along a first direction and a first gesture moving along a second direction, and the second type of gesture includes a second gesture moving along the first direction and a second gesture moving along the second direction. It should be noted that the first direction refers to the direction from the midpoint of the progress bar to one end of the progress bar, and the second direction refers to the direction from the midpoint of the progress bar to the other end of the progress bar.
[0057] To illustrate with an example: A horizontal progress bar is displayed at the bottom of the video playback interface. The user's first gesture can be configured as a clenched fist, and the user's second gesture can be configured as an open-fingers gesture. When the user makes a clenched fist gesture to the right, the electronic device adjusts the slider position to the right by one step length; when the user makes a clenched fist gesture to the left, the electronic device adjusts the slider position to the left by one step length. When the user makes an open-fingers gesture to the right, the electronic device adjusts the slider position to the right by two steps length; when the user makes an open-fingers gesture to the left, the electronic device adjusts the slider position to the left by two steps length.
[0058] Based on the control method for the electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 2 of the present invention, a user can trigger the electronic device to adjust the position of the slider at both ends of the progress bar by performing two different gestures moving along a first direction and a second direction, with different step sizes. For the user, only two gestures are needed to accurately adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar.
[0059] Example 3
[0060] See Figure 3 , Figure 3 This is a flowchart of a control method for an electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 3 of the present invention. The control method includes:
[0061] Step S31: Acquire the image acquired by the image acquisition unit.
[0062] Step S32: Analyze the image to determine the user's gestures contained in the image.
[0063] Step S33: When the operation gesture is the third gesture, move the slider along the direction corresponding to the third gesture by the length of the first step.
[0064] Step S34: When the operation gesture is the fourth gesture, move the slider along the direction corresponding to the fourth gesture by the length of the first step.
[0065] Step S35: When the operation gesture is the fifth gesture, move the slider in the direction corresponding to the fifth gesture by the second step length.
[0066] Step S36: When the operation gesture is the sixth gesture, move the slider in the direction corresponding to the sixth gesture by a second step length.
[0067] In this embodiment, the first type of gestures includes the third and fourth gestures, and the second type of gestures includes the fifth and sixth gestures. It should be noted that the direction corresponding to the third gesture is from the midpoint of the progress bar to one end of the progress bar; the direction corresponding to the fourth gesture is from the midpoint of the progress bar to the other end of the progress bar; the direction corresponding to the fifth gesture is from the midpoint of the progress bar to one end of the progress bar; and the direction corresponding to the sixth gesture is from the midpoint of the progress bar to the other end of the progress bar. In practice, the directions corresponding to the third and fifth gestures can be the same, and the directions corresponding to the fourth and sixth gestures can be the same; or, the directions corresponding to the third and sixth gestures can be the same, and the directions corresponding to the fourth and fifth gestures can be the same.
[0068] Furthermore, the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth gestures mentioned in this embodiment are merely used to distinguish the four gestures performed by the user, and do not imply that the four gestures in this embodiment must be different from the first and second gestures mentioned in Embodiment 2. In practice, any two of the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth gestures can be the same gesture as the first and second gestures in Embodiment 2.
[0069] In the control method of the electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 2 of this invention, the user only needs to master two gestures to accurately adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar. However, for the electronic device, since the adjustment direction of the slider in the progress bar can only be determined after the movement directions of the first and second gestures are determined, the computational load of the electronic device is large. Moreover, the electronic device needs to analyze multiple images collected over a period of time to determine the movement directions of the first and second gestures, resulting in a long response time. In contrast, based on the control method of the electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 2 of this invention, the user triggers the electronic device to adjust the position of the slider at both ends of the progress bar with different step sizes using four different gestures. Since the electronic device only needs to recognize the gestures and does not need to determine the movement direction of the gestures, the computational load of the electronic device is reduced, and the response time of the electronic device is shortened.
[0070] Currently, 3D cameras comprising two cameras have emerged. The images captured by the two cameras targeting the same object have a certain angular difference. The distance between the object and the 3D camera can be determined using the images captured by the 3D camera. When an electronic device includes a 3D camera, or when an external 3D camera is connected to the electronic device and placed on the electronic device, the electronic device can use the images captured by the 3D camera to determine the distance between the object and itself. When a user performs a gesture operation, the electronic device can use the images captured by the 3D camera to determine the distance between the operated object and itself. Based on the above hardware architecture of the electronic device, this invention discloses... Figure 4 and Figure 5 The control method shown.
[0071] Example 4
[0072] See Figure 4 , Figure 4 This is a flowchart of a control method for an electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 4 of the present invention. The control method includes:
[0073] Step S41: Acquire the image acquired by the image acquisition unit.
[0074] In this embodiment, the image acquisition unit is specifically a 3D camera, which generates two images with different angles at the same time.
[0075] Step S42: Analyze the image to determine the user's gestures contained in the image.
[0076] When a user performs a gesture operation on an electronic device, the electronic device analyzes the image with angular differences captured by the 3D camera. It can not only determine the user's gesture and the direction of the gesture, but also the distance between the gesture (i.e., the operating body, such as the user's hand or upper limb) and itself.
[0077] Step S43: When the operation gesture is a seventh gesture that moves along a first direction within a first distance range in front of the electronic device, move the slider along the first direction by a step length.
[0078] Step S44: When the operation gesture is a seventh gesture that moves along the second direction within a first distance range in front of the electronic device, move the slider along the second direction by a step length.
[0079] Step S45: When the operation gesture is a seventh gesture that moves along the first direction within a second distance range in front of the electronic device, move the slider along the first direction with a second step length.
[0080] Step S46: When the operation gesture is a seventh gesture that moves in the second direction within a second distance range in front of the electronic device, move the slider in the second direction with a second step length.
[0081] In this embodiment, the first type of gesture includes: a seventh gesture moving along a first direction and a seventh gesture moving along a second direction within a first distance range in front of the electronic device. The second type of gesture includes: a seventh gesture moving along a first direction and a seventh gesture moving along a second direction within a second distance range in front of the electronic device. It should be noted that the first direction refers to the direction from the midpoint of the progress bar to one end of the progress bar, and the second direction refers to the direction from the midpoint of the progress bar to the other end of the progress bar. Furthermore, the first distance range and the second distance range do not overlap.
[0082] In addition, the seventh gesture referred to in this embodiment may be the same gesture as the first and second gestures in the aforementioned embodiment two, and the third, fourth, fifth and sixth gestures in the aforementioned embodiment three.
[0083] To illustrate with an example: A vertically oriented progress bar is displayed on the left side of the brightness adjustment interface. The user's seventh gesture can be configured as a clenched fist gesture. When the user makes a clenched fist upward gesture within a first distance range in front of the electronic device, the electronic device adjusts the slider position upward by one step. When the user makes a clenched fist downward gesture within the same first distance range, the electronic device adjusts the slider position downward by one step. When the user makes a clenched fist upward gesture within a second distance range in front of the electronic device, the electronic device adjusts the slider position upward by a second step. When the user makes a clenched fist downward gesture within the same second distance range, the electronic device adjusts the slider position downward by a second step.
[0084] Based on the control method for the electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 4 of this invention, when a user performs a seventh gesture along a first or second direction at different distances in front of the electronic device, the electronic device can be triggered to adjust the position of the slider at both ends of the progress bar in different steps. For the user, only one gesture is needed to accurately adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar, which further reduces the user's operational difficulty and the difficulty of learning the gesture compared with the aforementioned embodiments.
[0085] Example 5
[0086] See Figure 5 , Figure 5 This is a flowchart of a control method for an electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 5 of the present invention. The control method includes:
[0087] Step S51: Acquire the image acquired by the image acquisition unit.
[0088] In this embodiment, the image acquisition unit is specifically a 3D camera, which generates two images with different angles at the same time.
[0089] Step S52: Analyze the image to determine the user's gestures contained in the image.
[0090] When a user performs a gesture operation on an electronic device, the electronic device analyzes the image with angular differences captured by the 3D camera. It can not only determine the gesture performed by the user, but also determine the distance between the position of the gesture (that is, the operating body, such as the user's hand or upper limb) and itself.
[0091] Step S53: When the operation gesture is the eighth gesture performed within a first distance range in front of the electronic device, move the slider along the direction corresponding to the eighth gesture by the first step length.
[0092] Step S54: When the operation gesture is the ninth gesture performed within a first distance range in front of the electronic device, move the slider along the direction corresponding to the ninth gesture by the first step length.
[0093] Step S55: When the operation gesture is the eighth gesture performed within the second distance range in front of the electronic device, move the slider in the direction corresponding to the eighth gesture by a second step length.
[0094] Step S56: When the operation gesture is the ninth gesture performed within the second distance range in front of the electronic device, move the slider in the direction corresponding to the ninth gesture by a second step length.
[0095] In this embodiment, the first type of gesture includes an eighth and a ninth gesture performed within a first distance range in front of the electronic device. The second type of gesture includes an eighth and a ninth gesture performed within a second distance range in front of the electronic device. It should be noted that the direction corresponding to the eighth gesture is from the midpoint of the progress bar to one end of the progress bar, and the direction corresponding to the ninth gesture is from the midpoint of the progress bar to the other end of the progress bar. Furthermore, the first and second distance ranges do not overlap.
[0096] Furthermore, the eighth and ninth gestures mentioned in this embodiment are only used to distinguish between two gestures performed by the user, and do not imply that the two gestures in this embodiment must be different from the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh gestures mentioned above.
[0097] In the control method of the electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 4 of this invention, the user only needs to master one gesture to accurately adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar. However, for the electronic device, since the adjustment direction of the slider in the progress bar can only be determined after the movement direction of the seventh gesture is determined, the computational load of the electronic device is large. Moreover, the electronic device needs to analyze multiple images collected over a period of time to determine the movement direction of the seventh gesture, resulting in a long response time. In contrast, in the control method of the electronic device disclosed in Embodiment 5 of this invention, the electronic device can determine the adjustment direction of the slider in the progress bar based on the gesture performed by the user, without needing to determine the movement direction of the gesture. Therefore, the computational load of the electronic device is reduced, and the response time of the electronic device is shortened.
[0098] In the various embodiments disclosed above, after adjusting the slider's position in the progress bar with a first step size or a second step size, the method further includes controlling the electronic device to operate according to the slider's current position. That is, after the user performs an operation gesture to adjust the slider's position, the electronic device adjusts the slider's position in the progress bar accordingly based on the gesture. Then, the electronic device operates according to the adjusted slider position, such as adjusting the playback progress of an audio or video file based on the slider's current position, or adjusting the brightness or contrast parameters of the electronic device based on the slider's current position.
[0099] The present invention also discloses a control method for an electronic device, wherein after adjusting the position of the slider in the progress bar by a first step or a second step, the electronic device does not operate directly based on the current position of the slider.
[0100] Example 6
[0101] Please see Figure 6 , Figure 6 This is a flowchart of a control method for an electronic device disclosed in Embodiment Six of the present invention. The control method includes:
[0102] Step S61: Acquire the image acquired by the image acquisition unit.
[0103] Step S62: Analyze the image to determine the user's gestures contained in the image.
[0104] Step S63: When the operation gesture is a first type gesture, adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar by the first step length, and then execute step S65.
[0105] Step S64: When the operation gesture is a second type of gesture, adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar by the second step, and then execute step S65.
[0106] Step S65: Determine whether a gesture indicating confirmation has been received. If yes, proceed to step S66; otherwise, wait.
[0107] Step S66: Upon receiving a gesture indicating confirmation, the electronic control device operates according to the current position of the slider.
[0108] Based on the control method for an electronic device disclosed in Embodiment Six of this invention, after adjusting the position of the slider in the progress bar in response to a user's gesture operation, the electronic device only operates according to the current position of the slider after receiving a gesture indicating confirmation. For the user, multiple gesture operations can be performed to adjust the slider to the target position before performing a confirmation gesture, so that the electronic device operates according to the current position of the slider.
[0109] The present invention discloses a control method for an electronic device, and correspondingly, also discloses a control device for an electronic device. The electronic device includes a display unit capable of displaying a progress bar. This progress bar can be a progress bar displayed on an application interface (such as a video playback interface or an audio playback interface) of the electronic device, or a progress bar displayed on a function setting interface (such as a volume adjustment interface, brightness adjustment interface, and contrast adjustment interface). Additionally, the electronic device includes an image acquisition unit or an external image acquisition unit. The electronic device disclosed in this invention can be a smart TV, tablet computer, or laptop computer, or other electronic devices with gesture recognition capabilities.
[0110] See Figure 7 , Figure 7 This is a schematic diagram of the structure of a control device for an electronic device disclosed in this invention. The control device includes:
[0111] Image acquisition unit 1 is used to acquire images acquired by the image acquisition unit.
[0112] Image parsing unit 2 is used to parse the image and determine the user's operation gesture contained in the image.
[0113] The first control unit 3 is used to adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar by a step length when the operation gesture is a first type of gesture.
[0114] The second control unit 4 is used to adjust the position of the slider in the progress bar by a second step when the operation gesture is a second type of gesture. The first step is different from the second step.
[0115] The control device for the electronic device disclosed in this invention acquires images through the electronic device's own or an external image acquisition unit, then analyzes the images to obtain the user's operation gestures contained within them. When the operation gesture is a first type of gesture, the slider's position in the progress bar is adjusted by a first step length; when the operation gesture is a second type of gesture, the slider's position in the progress bar is adjusted by a second step length different from the first step length. Based on the control device for the electronic device disclosed in this invention, the user, by executing either the first or second type of gesture, triggers the electronic device to adjust the slider's position in the progress bar by correspondingly different step lengths. After coarsely adjusting the slider's position in the progress bar by executing one type of gesture, a fine adjustment is then made by executing another type of gesture, making the adjustment of the slider's position more accurate and achieving precise control of the electronic device.
[0116] It should be noted that the first step length and the second step length can be preset values or preset percentages of the entire progress bar.
[0117] In practice, the user's first and second types of gestures can be varied, as long as the electronic device can distinguish them in order to execute different subsequent processing strategies.
[0118] 1) In the case where the first type of gesture includes a first gesture moving in a first direction and a first gesture moving in a second direction, and the second type of gesture includes a second gesture moving in a first direction and a second gesture moving in a second direction:
[0119] The first control unit 3 includes a first control module and a second control module.
