Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present application relates to the field of electrical connectors, and in particular to a board-to-board connector assembly. Background Art
[0002] Board-to-board connector components are widely used in the field of consumer electronics, such as smartphones, tablets, wearable devices, etc. Currently, smartphones and wearable devices have extremely high space requirements, and the size of components is also shrinking. The minimum height of the board-to-board plug and socket of the first-line board-to-board manufacturer has reached an ultra-low height of 0.6mm, and the terminal spacing has reached 0.25mm. Such a tiny connector has higher requirements for the strength of the connector structure. Compared with traditional board-to-board connector components, the large-scale functional integration of existing smartphones has higher requirements for current carrying capacity. For example, the current transmission requirement of LCD screens is 5A. The traditional board-to-board connector component design can no longer meet the current market requirements for strength and current transmission. Summary of the invention

During the insertion process, the support bottom arm 632 is pressed to generate a supporting force with the mounted printed circuit board, so that the first and second central guide arms 631, 634 have a certain elasticity.
[0068] The top of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 is bent and extended toward the elastic arm portion 65 to form a protection portion 66 supported above the high platform 4422 of the support shoulder 4421. When the plug A is not inserted into the socket B, that is, the socket B is in a natural state, when viewed from top to bottom (i.e. Fig.11 As shown in the figure, the protective portion 66 does not cover the elastic arm portion 65. When the elastic arm portion 65 is squeezed longitudinally outward by the contact portion 331 of the lateral outer side covering portion 33 of the plug reinforcement 30, the elastic arm portion 65 is at least partially located below the protective portion 66.
[0069] In a natural state, the elastic arm portion 65 is located above the elastic avoidance portion 4424 and there is a deformation gap between the elastic arm portion 65 and the inner side surface of the support shoulder portion 4421. When the elastic arm portion 65 is longitudinally squeezed, the elastic arm portion 65 is deformed in the deformation gap. The elastic arm portion 65 includes a tensioning portion 651 formed by reverse bending from the free end of the transverse direction of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64, an elastic main body arm 652 extending from the tensioning portion 651 to the elastic avoidance portion 4424 in the transverse direction, a contact convex portion 653 protruding from the elastic main body arm 652 toward the plug guide receiving cavity 443, and a hanging portion 654 formed by bending and extending from the top end of the elastic main body arm 652 toward the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64. The hanging portion 654 is supported above the low-position groove 4423 of the support shoulder portion 4421. The arc line of the bent portion of the hanging portion 654 is consistent with the second arc guide portion 612 on the main body 61.
[0070] Key References Fig.14 As shown, the horizontal position of the top surface of the protection portion 66 is higher than the horizontal position of the top surface of the hanging portion 654 (focus on Fig.13 ), the top surface of the hanging portion 654 is at the same horizontal position as the top surface of the main body 61. When viewed from the side (such as Fig.12 As shown in FIG. 4 , the contact protrusion 653 is completely located in the plug guide receiving cavity 443. When the plug A is inserted, the lateral outer side cover 33 of the plug reinforcement 30 first contacts the protection portion 66 and obtains the correct position of the protection portion 66 toward the side of the plug guide receiving cavity 433, and then continues to press down. The plug reinforcement 30 presses the elastic main body arm 652 toward the longitudinal outer side along the inner edge of the hanging portion 654. The hanging portion 654 keeps the elastic main body arm 652 from being damaged by being rubbed, hung, and folded downward. After the plug A is finally inserted, the elastic main body arm 652 is squeezed and deformed toward the support shoulder 4421 and provides elastic force. The contact protrusion 653 finally achieves electrical contact with the contact portion 331 of the plug reinforcement 30 to transmit current. The plug reinforcement 30 and the socket reinforcement 60 transmit current by electrically contacting the two contact portions 331 in the longitudinal direction with the two contact protrusions 653, and the current transmission capacity can reach 5 amperes.
[0071] The elasticity of the elastic main body arm 652 is preferably such that the longitudinal movement of the hanging portion 654 does not exceed the longitudinal outer side surface of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64. The transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 is provided with a avoiding notch 643 at a position corresponding to the hanging portion 654 in the longitudinal direction. When the plug A is inserted, the hanging portion 654 extends to the upper side of the avoiding notch 643 on the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 without contacting it.
[0072] In this embodiment, the elastic main body arm 652 is bent and extended toward the longitudinal outside to form a hanging portion 654 that is hung on the support shoulder 4421, and the top of the transverse outer wall covering portion 64 is bent toward the longitudinal inside to form a protective portion 66 higher than the hanging portion 654, so as to protect the elastic main body arm 652 from being damaged by the plug reinforcement member 30 rubbing downward when the plug is inserted.
[0073] Embodiment 2
[0074] Please continue reading Figures 16 to 18 As shown, it is a second embodiment of the board-to-board connector assembly of the present application. The board-to-board plug A of this embodiment is consistent with the first embodiment, and the difference only lies in the partial structure of the socket reinforcement member 60.
[0075] The difference between the second embodiment and the first embodiment is that the position of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 corresponding to the hanging portion 654 cancels the avoidance notch 643 in the first embodiment, and the position of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 corresponding to the hanging portion 654 protrudes upward to form a contact piece 644, and the free end of the hanging portion 654 is stamped into a smaller contact tip. When the plug A is inserted into the socket B, the elastic main body arm 652 deforms toward the longitudinal outside to force the contact tip 655 of the hanging portion 654 to extend toward the contact piece 644 and finally make electrical contact. In this way, the current can be directly transmitted to the contact piece 644 on the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 through the contact portion 331 of the plug reinforcement 30 via the contact protrusion 653 of the socket reinforcement 60, and finally transmitted to the printed circuit board through the solder foot 642 at the bottom of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64. This transmission path is defined as the first transmission path. Therefore, the current does not need to be transmitted through the path of the contact protrusion 653, the elastic main body arm 652, the tightening part 651, and the transverse peripheral wall covering part 64. This transmission path is defined as the second transmission path. In this way, multi-path parallel transmission between the plug A and the socket B is achieved, heat generation is reduced, and current carrying capacity is improved.
[0076] The contact piece 644 preferably extends upwards to a length that does not exceed the upper surface of the main body 61 and the protection portion 66. The contact piece 644 is retained to have the ability to deform outward in the longitudinal direction to protect the hook portion 654 and the contact piece 644 from being damaged due to mis-insertion.
[0077] In the second embodiment, a contact piece 644 is formed by extending upward at the position of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 corresponding to the hanging portion 654, so that when the elastic main arm 652 is deformed longitudinally outward when the plug A is inserted, the free end of the hanging portion 654 electrically contacts the contact piece 644, thereby realizing multi-path current transmission, which is beneficial to improving the current carrying capacity of the socket reinforcement 60.
[0078] During the simulated temperature rise test, when the current passing through the embodiment 1 and the embodiment 2 was 5 amperes, the temperature rise of the embodiment 1 was 20.4 degrees Celsius, and the temperature rise of the embodiment 2 was 17.4 degrees Celsius.
[0079] Embodiment 3
[0080] See also Figures 19 to 25 As shown, the plug A of the third embodiment is consistent with that of the first embodiment, but the difference of the socket B is that the socket guide portion 44 is partially different and the structure of the socket reinforcement member 60 is inconsistent.
[0081] The support shoulder 4421 of the socket guide 44 of the socket body 40 of the third embodiment is formed with avoidance slopes 4429 on both sides in the longitudinal direction, so that the top of the support shoulder 4421 is a relatively sharp support top, and the installation step 4425 and the elastic avoidance portion 4424 no longer need to be connected through the connecting step 4426, that is, the connecting step 4426 is cancelled. The rest of the structure of the socket guide 44 is consistent with that of the first embodiment.
[0082] The socket reinforcement member 60 of the third embodiment includes the main body 61, the central guide portion 63, the longitudinal peripheral wall covering portion 62 and the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 as in the first embodiment, and further includes a protection arm 68 and a contact spring arm 69 formed by folding inward and downward from the top end of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64.
[0083] The protective arm 68 is formed by bending and extending longitudinally downward from the top of the free end of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64, and the contact elastic arm 69 is formed by bending and extending longitudinally downward from the top of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 located between the protective arm 68 and the main body 61.
[0084] The protection arm 68 includes a bending protection portion 681 that is bent from the top of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 toward the longitudinal inner side and crosses the support shoulder 4421, a first extension protection portion 682 that extends obliquely downward from the bending protection portion 681, and a second extension protection portion 683 that continues to extend obliquely downward from the first extension protection portion 682 and is located above the elastic avoidance portion 4424. The extension angles of the first extension protection portion 682 and the second extension protection portion 683 are inconsistent, and the extension angle of the first extension protection portion 682 is greater than the extension angle of the second extension protection portion 683, that is, the first extension protection portion 682 is closer to the plug guide receiving cavity 443 faster than the second extension protection portion 683 with a shorter extension length. The extension angles here are defined as the angles between the first and second extension protection portions 682, 683 and the vertical direction. The first extension protection portion 682 also extends away from the main body 61.
[0085] The contact spring arm 69 includes a bent spanning portion 691 bent from the top of the transverse peripheral wall covering portion 64 toward the longitudinal inner side and spanning the support shoulder 4421, an extension arm 692 extending obliquely downward from the bent spanning portion 691, and a contact portion 693 extending obliquely downward from the extension arm 692, which is at least partially located in the plug guide receiving cavity 443. The extension angles of the extension arm 692 and the contact portion 693 are inconsistent, and the extension angle of the extension arm 692 is smaller than the extension angle of the contact portion 693, that is, the extension arm 692 approaches the plug guide receiving cavity 443 more slowly with a shorter extension length than the contact portion 693. The extension arm 692 and the contact portion 693 extend obliquely toward the direction of the protection arm 68.
[0086] At the same time, the extension angle of the extension arm 692 is smaller than the extension angle of the first extension protection portion 682 so that the first extension protection portion 682 is closer to the plug guide receiving cavity 443. The extension angle of the contact portion 693 is larger than the extension angle of the second extension protection portion 683 so that the contact portion 693 is closer to or enters the plug guide receiving cavity 443. When the plug A is not inserted, when viewed from top to bottom, the free end of the contact portion 693 is entirely or at least partially located in the plug guide receiving cavity 443, and the free end of the second extension protection portion 683 of the protection arm 68 is entirely or at least partially located above the elastic avoidance portion 4424.
[0087] The horizontal position of the top of the bending spanning portion 691 is not higher than the top of the bending protection portion 681 of the protection arm 68 , and preferably, the top of the bending spanning portion 691 is lower than the top of the bending protection portion 681 .
[0088] During the process of inserting the plug A into the socket B, the joint end edge of the lateral outer side cover portion 33 of the plug reinforcement member 30 and the cover base 31 is first guided by the bent protection portion 681 of the protection arm 68, and is continuously pressed down along the bent protection portion 681 until it is guided by the first extended protection portion 682. At this time, the extended arm 692 of the contact spring arm 69 is away from the plug guide receiving cavity 433 relative to the first extended protection portion 682, and the extended arm 692 does not need to guide the plug reinforcement member 30. After the plug reinforcement member 30 is guided by the first extended protection portion 682, the insertion position of the plug A is basically unchanged, and the guiding effect of the second extended protection portion 683 is weakened. If the pressure is continued downward, the contact portion 331 of the lateral outer side cover portion 33 will be in elastic contact with the contact portion 693. After the plug A is buckled, the contact spring arm 69 is deformed on the elastic avoidance portion 4424 toward the support shoulder 4421, and the contact portion 693 is at least partially pressed above the elastic avoidance portion 4424. The protection arm 68 will no longer come into contact with the plug reinforcement member 30. The current is transmitted to the printed circuit board via the contact portion 331 of the plug reinforcement member 30, the contact spring arm 69, and the longitudinal peripheral wall covering portion 62.
[0089] The avoidance slopes 4429 on both longitudinal sides of the top of the supporting shoulder 4421 allow the protection arm 68 and the bending protection portion 681 and the bending span portion 691 of the contact elastic arm 69 to bend at a smaller angle and be in a supported state of the supporting shoulder 4421 .
[0090] The board-to-board connector assembly of this embodiment is formed by bending inwardly at the top of the lateral peripheral wall covering portion 64 of the socket reinforcement member 60 to form a protective arm 68 and a contact spring arm 69 for guiding and electrically connecting respectively. The protective arm 68 guides and protects the insertion of the plug reinforcement member 30 without damaging the socket B or the plug.
[0091] It should be noted that the printed circuit board on which the plug A or the socket B is mounted in this specification is not limited to a circuit board, and any object having a current transmission line can be used.
[0092] The above is only an embodiment of the present application and is not intended to limit the present application. For those skilled in the art, the present application may have various changes and variations. Any modification, equivalent replacement, improvement, etc. made within the spirit and principle of the present application should be included in the scope of the claims of the present application.
