[0002] A cabinet assembly is disclosed. The cabinet assembly includes two side panels and a back panel. A hinge assembly couples the side panels to the back panel. Each hinge assembly includes a first bracket mounted on an interior surface of one of the side panels. The first bracket has a first key and a first pivot head. A second bracket is mounted on an interior surface of the back panel. The second bracket has a second key and a second pivot head. The first key alternates with the second key to create a keyway when one of the side panels is positioned at approximately a right angle relative to the back panel. A link has a first generally circular aperture and a second generally oblong aperture. The first pivot head is positioned within the first aperture to couple the link, the first bracket, and one of the side panels. The second pivot head is positioned within the second aperture to couple the link, the second bracket, and the back panel. The second pivot head is laterally movable within the second aperture. The hinge assembly allows the cabinet assembly to be configured in a folded configuration in which the side panels are parallel to, and coupled with, the back panel. A locking bracket has an outer edge and a locking member extending away from the outer edge. The locking member is sized and shaped to be inserted into the keyway. When the locking member is inserted into the keyway, the locking bracket locks the side panels at approximately a right angle relative to the back panel.

[0022] Assembly of furniture, such as a cabinet or the like, can be difficult. For example, different pieces of a cabinet can be shipped in the form of a kit that includes various component parts. In other words, a cabinet assembly can typically be sold in one or more boxes that include various component parts (e.g., fasteners, etc.) and cabinet components (e.g., a back panel, side panels, a front panel, etc.). Assembly of the component parts and cabinet components can be cumbersome for a single person. As a result, multiple assemblers can be hired to assemble the cabinet, or the process can be time consuming from start to finish.
[0023] Various embodiments provide an improved cabinet assembly that includes one or more subassemblies that include pre-assembled components. For example, a back panel and one or more side panels can be interlocked by hinged corners that can be simply repositioned and locked into an assembled configuration.
