Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for monitoring aircraft components, comprising the steps of: receiving a video stream representing at least a portion of the component from a video acquisition device; extracting (24) a portion of the video stream to form a sequence of interest if a predetermined condition is detected; identifying (26) at least one image of interest within the extracted sequence of interest; comparing (28) a signature obtained using each image of interest with at least one predetermined signature from a signature library; and generating (30) an anomaly detection signal if the comparison result meets a predetermined criterion.
