Description

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0002] This application claims priority to and the benefit of U.S. Patent Application No. 16 / 948,547, filed on September 23, 2020, and U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 905,962, filed on September 25, 2019, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference as if fully set forth below and for all applicable purposes. Technical Field

[0003] The present application relates to wireless communication systems, and more particularly to channel occupancy time (COT) sharing between sidelink user equipments (UEs). Background Art

[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. These systems may be capable of supporting communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., time, frequency, and power). A wireless multiple-access communication system may include multiple base stations (BSs), each of which simultaneously supports communication for multiple communication devices (which may be referred to in other aspects as user equipment (UE)).

[0005] To meet the growing demand for expanded mobile broadband connections, wireless communication technology is evolving from Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology to next-generation New Radio (NR) technology, which may be referred to as the fifth generation (5G). For example, NR is designed to provide lower latency, higher bandwidth or higher throughput, and higher reliability than LTE. NR is designed to operate over a wide range of spectrum bands, for example, from low frequency bands below about 1 GHz and mid-frequency bands from about 1 GHz to about 6 GHz, to high frequency bands (e.g., millimeter wave (mmWave) bands. NR is also designed to operate across different spectrum types, from licensed spectrum to unlicensed and shared spectrum. Spectrum sharing enables operators to opportunistically aggregate spectrum to dynamically support high-bandwidth services. Spectrum sharing can extend the benefits of NR technology to operating entities that may not have access to licensed spectrum.

[0006] In a wireless communication network, a BS can communicate with a UE in both the uplink and downlink directions. Sidelinks were introduced in LTE to allow a UE to send data to another UE without tunneling through a BS and / or an associated core network. LTE sidelink technology has been extended to provide device-to-device (D2D) communications, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications, and / or cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) communications. Similarly, NR can be extended to support sidelink communications, D2D communications, V2X communications, and / or C-V2X on licensed and / or unlicensed bands. Summary of the invention

[0028] The detailed description set forth below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings is intended as a description of various configurations and is not intended to represent the only configurations that can implement the concepts described herein. The detailed description includes specific details for providing a thorough understanding of the various concepts. However, it is apparent to those skilled in the art that these concepts can be implemented without these specific details. In some instances, well-known structures and components are shown in the form of block diagrams to avoid blurring such concepts.

[0029] In general, the present disclosure relates to wireless communication systems, also referred to as wireless communication networks. In various embodiments, these techniques and devices can be used for wireless communication networks such as code division multiple access (CDMA) networks, time division multiple access (TDMA) networks, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) networks, orthogonal FDMA (OFDMA) networks, single carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) networks, LTE networks, global mobile communication systems (GSM) networks, fifth generation (5G) or new radio (NR) networks, and other communication networks. As described herein, the terms "network" and "system" can be used interchangeably.

[0030] OFDMA network can realize radio technology such as Evolved UTRA (E-UTRA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11, IEEE 802.16, IEEE 802.20, Flash OFDM, etc. UTRA, E-UTRA and GSM are parts of Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS). Specifically, Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a version of UMTS using E-UTRA. UTRA, E-UTRA, GSM, UMTS and LTE are described in documents provided by an organization named "3rd Generation Partnership Project" (3GPP), and cdma2000 is described in documents from an organization named "3rd Generation Partnership Project 2" (3GPP2). These various radio technologies and standards are known or are being developed. For example, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is a collaboration between telecommunications association groups that aims to define globally applicable third generation (3G) mobile phone specifications. 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a 3GPP project aimed at improving UMTS mobile phone standards. 3GPP may define specifications for next generation mobile networks, mobile systems, and mobile devices. The present disclosure relates to the evolution of wireless technologies from LTE, 4G, 5G, NR, and beyond that use new and different radio access technologies or sets of radio air interfaces to share access to wireless spectrum between networks.

[0031] In particular, 5G networks envision different deployments, different spectrums, and different services and devices that can be implemented using a unified air interface based on OFDM. To achieve these goals, in addition to developing new radio technologies for 5G NR networks, further enhancements to LTE and LTE-A are also considered. 5G NR will be able to extend to provide coverage from (1) to (2) with ultra-high density (e.g., ~1M nodes / km) to (3) with ultra-high density (e.g., ~1M nodes / km). 2 ), ultra-low complexity (e.g., ~ tens of bits / second), ultra-low energy consumption (e.g., ~ 10 years of battery life), and deep coverage capable of reaching challenging locations; (2) including mission-critical control for users with strong security to protect sensitive personal, financial, or confidential information, ultra-high reliability (e.g., ~ 99.9999% reliability), ultra-low latency (e.g., ~ 1 ms), and a wide range of mobility or lack of mobility; and (3) with enhanced mobile broadband, including extremely high capacity (e.g., ~ 10 Tbps / km 2 ), extremely high data rates (e.g., multi-Gbps rates, 100+Mbps user experienced rates), and deep perception with advanced discovery and optimization.

[0032] 5G NR can be implemented using an optimized OFDM-based waveform with a scalable digital scheme and transmission time interval (TTI); with a common, flexible framework to effectively multiplex services and features with a dynamic, low-latency time division duplex (TDD) / frequency division duplex (FDD) design; and using advanced wireless technologies such as massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), robust millimeter wave (mmWave) transmission, advanced channel coding, and device-centric mobility. The scalability of the digital scheme in 5G NR and the scaling of the subcarrier spacing can effectively address the operation of various services across different spectrums and different deployments. For example, in various outdoor and macro coverage deployments less than 3GHz FDD / TDD implementations, the subcarrier spacing may appear at 15kHz, for example, on bandwidths (BW) of 5, 10, 20MHz, etc. For other various outdoor and small cell coverage deployments of TDD greater than 3GHz, the subcarrier spacing may appear at 30kHz on 80 / 100MHz BW. For various other indoor broadband implementations, using TDD on the unlicensed portion of the 5 GHz band, subcarrier spacing may occur at 60 kHz over 160 MHz BW. Finally, for various deployments transmitting with a millimeter wave component at 28 GHz TDD, subcarrier spacing may occur at 120 kHz over 500 MHz BW.

[0033] 5G NR's scalable digital scheme facilitates scalable TTI for different latency and quality of service (QoS) requirements. For example, shorter TTI can be used for low latency and high reliability, while longer TTI can be used for higher spectral efficiency. Efficient multiplexing of long TTI and short TTI allows transmission to start at symbol boundaries. 5G NR also envisions a self-contained integrated subframe design in which UL / downlink schedules information, data, and acknowledgment in the same subframe. The self-contained integrated subframe supports communications in unlicensed or contention-based shared spectrum, adaptive UL / downlink that can be flexibly configured on a per-cell basis to dynamically switch between UL and downlink to meet current business needs.

[0034] The various other aspects and features of the present disclosure are further described below. It should be apparent that the teachings of this article can be embodied in a variety of forms, and any specific structure, function, or both disclosed herein are merely representative and non-restrictive. Based on the teachings of this article, it should be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that the aspects disclosed herein can be implemented independently of any other aspects, and two or more of these aspects can be combined in various ways. For example, using any number of aspects set forth herein, a device can be implemented or a method can be implemented. In addition, using other structures, functions, or structures and functions other than one or more of the aspects set forth herein or structures and functions different from one or more of the aspects set forth herein, such a device can be implemented or such a method can be implemented. For example, a method can be implemented as a part of a system, device, device, and / or implemented as an instruction stored on a computer-readable medium for execution on a processor or computer. In addition, an aspect may include at least one element of a claim.

[0035] NR technology has been extended to operate on unlicensed spectrum. The deployment of NR technology on unlicensed spectrum is called NR-U. NR-U aims to operate on the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands, where there are well-defined channel access rules for sharing between operators of the same radio access technology (RAT) and / or different RATs. When the BS operates on an unlicensed spectrum, the BS does not have ownership of the spectrum or control over the spectrum. Therefore, the BS needs to compete for channel access in the spectrum, for example, via idle channel assessment (CCA) and / or listen-before-talk (LBT) processes.

[0036] Providing sidelink services such as device-to-device (D2D), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-everything (V2X), and / or cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) communications on a dedicated spectrum or a licensed spectrum is relatively straightforward because channel access in the dedicated spectrum or the licensed spectrum is guaranteed. NR-U can bring benefits to sidelink services, for example, by offloading sidelink traffic to unlicensed spectrum at no charge. However, channel access in a shared spectrum or an unlicensed spectrum is not guaranteed. Therefore, in order to provide sidelink services on a shared spectrum or an unlicensed spectrum, a sidelink user equipment device (UE) is required to compete for channel access in the spectrum, for example, via a CCA and / or LBT process.

[0037] The present application describes a mechanism for sharing a sidelink channel occupancy time (COT) for sidelink communications in a shared radio frequency band between sidelink UEs. For example, a first UE may compete for the COT in a shared radio frequency band for sidelink communications by performing listen-before-talk (LBT) (e.g., Category 4 (CAT4) LBT) in the shared radio frequency band to acquire the COT in the shared radio frequency band. After winning the competition, the first UE may send sidelink data via a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) and / or sidelink control information (SCI) via a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) to a second UE. The shared radio frequency band may be divided into multiple frequency interlaces of resource blocks (RBs). Sidelink communications may be sent using one or more of the multiple frequency interlaces.

[0038] In some aspects, the sidelink communication may not require all frequency interleavings in the shared radio frequency band and / or the entire duration of the COT. Therefore, the first UE may allow another sidelink UE to join the COT opportunistically and utilize any unoccupied frequency interleavings and / or unoccupied time resources. In order to facilitate COT sharing, the first UE may include COT sharing information in the SCI. For example, for interleaving-based sharing, the COT sharing information may include information associated with available or unoccupied frequency interleavings in the COT, the duration of the COT, the end time of the COT, an interval period within the COT for responding to the sidelink UE performing LBT before joining the COT, and / or a priority for acquiring the COT (e.g., a channel access priority level (CAPC)). For time domain-based sharing, the COT sharing information may include timing information associated with unoccupied time resources and / or a contention slot timing grid for competing for unoccupied time resources, and a CAPC for acquiring the COT.

[0039] In some aspects, the first UE may apply hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) technology to the sidelink data communication and may include in the scheduling SCI an indication of the LBT type to be used by the receiving sidelink UE to send HARQ acknowledgment / negative acknowledgment (ACK / NACK) for the sidelink data communication.

[0040] Various aspects of the present disclosure may provide several benefits. For example, the COT sharing information included in the SCI may allow other sidelink UEs to opportunistically utilize unoccupied time domain and / or frequency domain resources in the COT. Therefore, the disclosed embodiments may improve spectrum utilization efficiency.

[0041] Figure 1A wireless communication network 100 according to some aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The network 100 may be a 5G network. The network 100 includes a plurality of base stations (BSs) 105 (labeled 105a, 105b, 105c, 105d, 105e, and 105f, respectively) and other network entities. The BS 105 may be a station that communicates with the UE 115, and may also be referred to as an evolved Node B (eNB), a next generation eNB (gNB), an access point, etc. Each BS 105 may provide communication coverage for a particular geographic area. In 3GPP, the term "cell" may refer to that particular geographic coverage area of the BS 105 and / or a BS subsystem serving the coverage area, depending on the context in which the term is used.

[0042] The BS 105 may provide communication coverage for macro cells or small cells (such as pico cells or femto cells) and / or other types of cells. A macro cell typically covers a relatively large geographic area (e.g., a radius of several kilometers) and may allow unrestricted access by UEs with a service subscription with a network provider. Small cells (such as pico cells) will typically cover a relatively small geographic area and may allow unrestricted access by UEs with a service subscription with a network provider. Small cells (such as femto cells) will also typically cover a relatively small geographic area (e.g., a residence) and in addition to unrestricted access may also provide restricted access by UEs associated with a femto cell (e.g., UEs in a closed subscriber group (CSG), UEs of users in a home, etc.). A BS for a macro cell may be referred to as a macro BS. A BS for a small cell may be referred to as a small cell BS, a pico BS, a femto BS, or a home BS. In Figure 1 In the example shown in , BS 105d and 105e may be conventional macro BSs, while BS 105a-105c may be macro BSs enabled with one of three-dimensional (3D), full-dimensional (FD), or massive MIMO. BS 105a-105c may utilize its higher dimensional MIMO capabilities to employ 3D beamforming in elevation and azimuth beamforming to increase coverage and capacity. BS 105f may be a small cell BS, which may be a home node or a portable access point. BS 105 may support one or more (e.g., two, three, four, etc.) cells.

[0043] The network 100 may support synchronous or asynchronous operation. For synchronous operation, the BSs may have similar frame timing, and transmissions from different BSs may be approximately aligned in time. For asynchronous operation, the BSs may have different frame timing, and transmissions from different BSs may not be aligned in time.

[0044] UE 115 is scattered throughout the wireless network 100, and each UE 115 can be fixed or mobile. UE 115 can also be referred to as a terminal, a mobile station, a user unit, a station, etc. UE 115 can be a cellular phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a wireless modem, a wireless communication device, a handheld device, a tablet computer, a laptop computer, a cordless phone, a wireless local loop (WLL) station, etc. In one aspect, UE 115 can be a device including a universal integrated circuit card (UICC). In another aspect, UE can be a device that does not include UICC. In some aspects, UE 115 that does not include UICC can also be referred to as IoT device or Internet of Everything (IoE) device. UE 115a-115d is an example of a mobile smart phone type device that accesses the network 100. UE 115 can also be a machine that is specially configured for connection communication, and these connection communications include machine type communication (MTC), enhanced MTC (eMTC), narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), etc. UE 115e-115h are examples of various machines configured for communication to access network 100. UE 115i-115k are examples of vehicles equipped with wireless communication devices configured for communication to access network 100. UE 115 may be able to communicate with any type of BS, whether a macro BS, a small cell, or something similar. Figure 1 , the lightning ball (e.g., communication link) indicates wireless transmission between UE 115 and serving BS 105 (which is a BS designated to serve UE 115 on a downlink (DL) and / or uplink (UL)), desired transmission between BS 105, backhaul transmission between BSs, or sidelink transmission between UE 115.

[0045] In operation, BS 105a-105c may use 3D beamforming and cooperative spatial techniques such as coordinated multi-point (CoMP) or multi-connectivity to serve UEs 115a and 115b. Macro BS 105d may perform backhaul communications with BS 105a-105c and small cell BS 105f. Macro BS 105d may also transmit multicast services that are subscribed to and received by UEs 115c and 115d. Such multicast services may include mobile TV or streaming video, or may include other services for providing community information, such as weather emergencies or alerts, such as Amber Alerts or Gray Alerts.

[0046] The BS 105 may also communicate with a core network. The core network may provide user authentication, access authorization, tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. At least some of the BSs 105 (e.g., which may be examples of gNBs or access node controllers (ANCs)) may interface with the core network via a backhaul link (e.g., NG-C, NG-U, etc.) and may perform radio configuration and scheduling for communications with the UE 115. In various examples, the BSs 105 may communicate with each other directly or indirectly (e.g., via a core network) via a backhaul link (e.g., X1, X2, etc.), which may be a wired or wireless communication link.

[0047] The network 100 may also support mission critical communications with ultra-reliable and redundant links for mission critical devices such as UE 115e, which may be a drone. The redundant communication links with UE 115e may include links from macro BSs 105d and 105e, and links from small cell BS 105f. Other machine type devices such as UE 115f (e.g., a thermometer), UE 115g (e.g., a smart meter), and UE 115h (e.g., a wearable device) may communicate directly with a BS such as small cell BS 105f and macro BS 105e through the network 100, or in a multi-step configuration by communicating with another user device that relays its information to the network, such as UE 115f transmitting temperature measurement information to smart meter UE 115g, which then reports the temperature measurement information to the network through small cell BS 105f. The network 100 may also provide additional network efficiency through dynamic, low-latency TDD / FDD communications, for example, V2V, V2X, C-V2X communications between UE 115i, UE 115j, or UE 115k and other UEs 115, and / or vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications between UE 115i, UE 115j, or UE 115k and BS 105.

[0048] In some embodiments, the network 100 communicates using an OFDM-based waveform. An OFDM-based system can divide the system BW into multiple (K) orthogonal subcarriers, which are also commonly referred to as subcarriers, tones, frequency bands, etc. Each subcarrier can be modulated with data. In some instances, the subcarrier spacing between adjacent subcarriers can be fixed, and the total number of subcarriers (K) can depend on the system BW. The system BW can also be divided into subbands. In other instances, the subcarrier spacing and / or the duration of the TTI can be scalable.

[0049] In some aspects, BS 105 may assign or schedule transmission resources (e.g., in the form of time-frequency resource blocks (RBs)) for downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) transmissions in network 100. DL refers to the transmission direction from BS 105 to UE 115, while UL refers to the transmission direction from UE 115 to BS 105. Communication may be in the form of radio frames. A radio frame may be divided into a plurality of (e.g., approximately 10) subframes or time slots. Each time slot may be further divided into micro-time slots. In FDD mode, simultaneous UL and DL transmissions may occur in different frequency bands. For example, each subframe includes a UL subframe in a UL frequency band and a DL subframe in a DL frequency band. In TDD mode, UL and DL transmissions occur at different time periods using the same frequency band. For example, a subset of subframes in a radio frame (e.g., DL subframes) may be used for DL transmissions, while another subset of subframes in a radio frame (e.g., UL subframes) may be used for UL transmissions.

[0050] DL subframes and UL subframes may be further divided into several regions. For example, each DL or UL subframe may have a predefined region for transmitting reference signals, control information, and data. A reference signal is a predetermined signal that facilitates communication between BS 105 and UE 115. For example, a reference signal may have a specific pilot pattern or structure, wherein a pilot tone may span an operating BW or frequency band, and each pilot tone may be located at a predefined time and a predefined frequency. For example, BS 105 may send a cell-specific reference signal (CRS) and / or a channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) to enable UE 115 to estimate a DL channel. Similarly, UE 115 may send a sounding reference signal (SRS) to enable BS 105 to estimate an UL channel. Control information may include resource assignments and protocol control. Data may include protocol data and / or operational data. In some aspects, BS 105 and UE 115 may communicate using a self-contained subframe. A self-contained subframe may include a portion for DL communication and a portion for UL communication. A self-contained subframe may be DL-centric or UL-centric. A DL-centric subframe may include a longer duration for DL communications than for UL communications. A UL-centric subframe may include a longer duration for UL communications than for DL communications.

[0051] In some aspects, network 100 may be an NR network deployed on a licensed spectrum. BS 105 may send synchronization signals (e.g., including a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS)) in network 100 to facilitate synchronization. BS 105 may broadcast system information associated with network 100 (e.g., including a master information block (MIB), remaining system information (RMSI), and other system information (OSI)) to facilitate initial network access. In some instances, BS 105 may broadcast PSS, SSS, and / or MIB in the form of a synchronization signal block (SSB) on a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), and may broadcast RMSI and / or OSI on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).

[0052] In some aspects, a UE 115 attempting to access the network 100 may perform an initial cell search by detecting a PSS from the BS 105. The PSS may enable synchronization of periodic timing and may indicate a physical layer identification value. The UE 115 may then receive the SSS. The SSS may enable radio frame synchronization and may provide a cell identification value, which may be combined with a physical layer identification value to identify a cell. The PSS and SSS may be located in the center portion of a carrier or in any suitable frequency within a carrier.

[0053] After receiving the PSS and SSS, the UE 115 may receive the MIB. The MIB may include system information for initial network access and scheduling information for RMSI and / or OSI. After decoding the MIB, the UE 115 may receive the RMSI and / or OSI. The RMSI and / or OSI may include radio resource control (RRC) information related to a random access channel (RACH) procedure, paging, a control resource set (CORESET) for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring, a physical UL control channel (PUCCH), a physical UL shared channel (PUSCH), power control, and SRS.

[0054] After obtaining the MIB, RMSI and / or OSI, the UE 115 may perform a random access procedure to establish a connection with the BS 105. In some examples, the random access procedure may be a four-step random access procedure. For example, the UE 115 may send a random access preamble, and the BS 105 may respond with a random access response. The random access response (RAR) may include a detected random access preamble identifier (ID) corresponding to the random access preamble, timing advance (TA) information, UL permission, a temporary cell radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI), and / or a fallback indicator. After receiving the random access response, the UE 115 may send a connection request to the BS 105, and the BS 105 may respond with a connection response. The connection response may indicate a contention resolution. In some examples, the random access preamble, the RAR, the connection request, and the connection response may be referred to as message 1 (MSG 1), message 2 (MSG 2), message 3 (MSG 3), and message 4 (MSG 4), respectively. In some examples, the random access procedure may be a two-step random access procedure, where the UE 115 may send a random access preamble and a connection request in a single transmission, and the BS 105 may respond by sending a random access response and a connection response in a single transmission.

[0055] After establishing the connection, the UE 115 and the BS 105 may enter a normal operating state in which operating data may be exchanged. For example, the BS 105 may schedule the UE 115 for UL and / or DL communications. The BS 105 may send an UL and / or DL scheduling grant to the UE 115 via the PDCCH. The scheduling grant may be sent in the form of DL control information (DCI). The BS 105 may send a DL communication signal (e.g., carrying data) to the UE 115 via the PDSCH according to the DL scheduling grant. The UE 115 may send an UL communication signal to the BS 105 via the PUSCH and / or PUCCH according to the UL scheduling grant.

[0056] In some aspects, BS 105 may communicate with UE 115 using HARQ technology to improve communication reliability, for example, to provide URLLC services. BS 105 may schedule UE 115 to perform PDSCH communication by sending a DL grant in PDCCH. BS 105 may send DL data packets to UE 115 according to the scheduling in PDSCH. DL data packets may be sent in the form of transport blocks (TBs). If UE 115 successfully receives the DL data packet, UE 115 may send HARQ ACK to BS 105. On the contrary, if UE 115 fails to successfully receive the DL transmission, UE 115 may send HARQ NACK to BS 105. Upon receiving HARQ NACK from UE 115, BS 105 may retransmit the DL data packet to UE 115. The retransmission may include the DL data of the same coded version as the initial transmission. Alternatively, the retransmission may include the DL data of a coded version different from the initial transmission. UE 115 may apply soft combining to combine the coded data received from the initial transmission and the retransmission for decoding. BS 105 and UE 115 may also apply HARQ to UL communications using a substantially similar mechanism as DL HARQ.

[0057] In some aspects, the network 100 may operate on a system BW or a component carrier (CC) BW. The network 100 may divide the system BW into multiple BWPs (e.g., parts). The BS 105 may dynamically allocate the UE 115 to operate on a certain BWP (e.g., a certain part of the system BW). The allocated BWP may be referred to as an active BWP. The UE 115 may monitor the active BWP to obtain signaling information from the BS 105. The BS 105 may schedule the UE 115 to perform UL communication or DL communication in the active BWP. In some aspects, the BS 105 may allocate a pair of BWPs within the CC to the UE 115 for UL communication and DL communication. For example, the BWP pair may include a BWP for UL communication and a BWP for DL communication.

[0058] In some aspects, the network 100 may operate on a shared channel, which may include a shared frequency band or an unlicensed frequency band. For example, the network 100 may be an NR unlicensed (NR-U) network operating on an unlicensed frequency band. In such aspects, the BS 105 and the UE 115 may be operated by multiple network operation entities. In order to avoid conflicts, the BS 105 and the UE 115 may monitor the transmission opportunities (TXOPs) in the shared channel using a listen-before-talk (LBT) process. For example, a transmitting node (e.g., BS 105 or UE 115) may perform LBT before transmitting in a channel. When LBT passes, the transmitting node may continue to transmit. When LBT fails, the transmitting node may avoid transmitting in the channel. In one example, LBT may be based on energy detection. For example, when the signal energy measured from the channel is lower than a threshold, the LBT result passes. On the contrary, when the signal energy measured from the channel exceeds a threshold, the LBT result fails. In another example, LBT may be based on signal detection. For example, when a channel reservation signal (eg, a predetermined preamble signal) is not detected in the channel, the LBT result is passed. TXOP may also be referred to as a channel occupation time (COT).

[0059] In some aspects, the network 100 may provide sidelink communications to allow a UE 115 to communicate with another UE 115 without tunneling through the BS 105 and / or core network. The BS 105 may configure certain resources in a licensed band and / or an unlicensed band for sidelink communications between a UE 115 and another UE 115. Certain bands may have certain BW occupancy requirements and / or maximum allowed power spectrum density (PSD). In order to meet BW occupancy requirements and / or increase transmit power under certain PSD restrictions, sidelink transmissions in the network 100 may use frequency interleaved waveforms. For example, an unlicensed band may be divided into a plurality of frequency interlaces, and sidelink communications may be sent on one or more frequency interlaces. In order to transmit sidelink communications on an unlicensed band, a UE 115 may compete for a COT in an unlicensed band by performing LBT. If the LBT wins the competition by indicating that the UE 115, the UE 115 may transmit sidelink communications with another UE 115 in an unlicensed band during the COT. In some instances, the sidelink communication may have a small data size and therefore may not require all frequency interleavings in the unlicensed band and / or the entire COT duration. Therefore, other UEs 115 may opportunistically join the COT and utilize any remaining frequency interleavings and / or COT durations. Mechanisms for sidelink COT sharing are described in more detail herein.

[0060] Figure 2An example of a wireless communication network 200 provided for sidelink communications according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is shown. The network 200 may be similar to the network 100. To simplify the discussion, Figure 2 One BS 205 and four UEs 215 are shown, although it will be appreciated that embodiments of the present disclosure may be extended to any suitable number (e.g., approximately 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, or more) of UEs 215 and / or BS 205. BS 205 and UE 215 may be similar to BS 105 and UE 115, respectively. BS 205 and UE 215 may communicate on the same frequency spectrum.

[0061] In network 200, some UE 215 can communicate with each other in peer-to-peer communication. For example, UE 215a can communicate with UE 215b through sidelink 251, and UE 215c can communicate with UE 215d through another sidelink 252. In some instances, sidelinks 251 and 252 are unicast bidirectional links, each of which is located between a pair of UEs 215. In some other instances, sidelinks 251 and 252 can be multicast links that support multicast sidelink services between UEs 215. For example, UE 215c can send multicast data to UE 215d and UE 215b through a sidelink. Some UE 215 can also communicate with BS 205 in the UL direction and / or DL direction via communication link 253. For example, UE 215a, 215b and 215c are within the coverage area 210 of BS 205, and therefore can communicate with BS 205. UE 215d is outside of coverage area 210 and therefore may not communicate directly with BS 205. In some cases, UE 215c may operate as a relay for UE 215d to BS 205. In some aspects, some UEs 215 are associated with vehicles (e.g., similar to UEs 115i-k), and communications over sidelinks 251 and / or 252 may be C-V2X communications. C-V2X communications may refer to communications between a vehicle and any other wireless communication device in a cellular network.

[0062] In some aspects, network 200 may be an LTE network. Transmissions of UE 215a and UE 215b on sidelink 251 and / or transmissions of UE 215c and UE 215d on sidelink 252 may reuse LTE PUSCH waveforms, which are waveforms based on discrete Fourier transform-spread (DFT-s). In some aspects, network 200 may be an NR network. Transmissions of UE 215 on sidelink 251 and / or 252 may use cyclic prefix OFDM (CP-OFDM) waveforms. In some aspects, network 200 may operate on a shared radio frequency band (e.g., an unlicensed band). Transmissions of UE 215 on sidelink 251 and / or 252 may use frequency interleaved waveforms.

[0063] Figure 3A-3B A sidelink communication scheme 300 according to some aspects of the present disclosure is shown together. The scheme 300 may be employed by UEs such as UEs 115 and 215 in a network such as network 100 and / or 200. Specifically, as shown in the scheme 300, the UEs may communicate with each other via sidelinks such as sidelinks 251 and 252. Figure 3A and Figure 3B In the scheme 300, the x-axis represents time in some arbitrary units and the y-axis represents frequency in some arbitrary units. In the scheme 300, a UE (e.g., UE 115 and / or 215) can contend for a COT in a shared radio frequency band or an unlicensed band for sidelink communication with another UE (e.g., UE 115 and / or 215) on a sidelink (e.g., sidelinks 251 and 252), and the sidelink communication can be transmitted using a frequency interleaved waveform.

[0064] Figure 3A A shared radio frequency band 302 is shown. The band 302 may be a shared radio frequency band or an unlicensed band shared by a plurality of network operating entities. For example, the band 302 may have a BW of about 10 megahertz (MHz) or about 20 MHz and a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of about 15 kilohertz (kHz), about 30 kHz, or about 20 kHz. The band 302 may be located at any suitable frequency. In some aspects, the band 302 may be located at about 3.5 GHz, 6 GHz, or 30 GHz. In order to transmit sidelink communications on the band 302, UE A may perform LBT 330 to compete for COT 320 in the band 302. LBT 330 may be a category 4 (CAT4) LBT. CAT4 LBT refers to an LBT with random backoff and a variable contention window. If LBT 330 fails, UE A may avoid transmitting in the band 302. However, if LBT 330 is successful, UE A may continue to use COT 320 for sidelink communications. Figure 3A In the example shown, LBT 330 is successful, as indicated by the check mark. Therefore, UE A can transmit sidelink communications with UE B in frequency band 302 during COT 320. In order to meet the BW occupancy requirements and / or PSD requirements in frequency band 302, UE A can use Figure 3B The sidelink communications are transmitted using the frequency interleaved waveform shown in FIG.

[0065] Figure 3B 308. I(0) To 308 (M-1) As shown, where M is a positive integer. Each frequency interleaving 308 I(i) The frequency band 302 may include K RBs 310 evenly spaced apart, where K is a positive integer and i may vary between 0 and M-1. I(i) RBs 310 in a frequency band are separated from each other by at least one other RB 310. The frequency interleaving 308 shown as a pattern filled box I(0) Including from cluster 304 C(0) To cluster 304 C(K-1) The values of K and M may vary based on several factors, such as the bandwidth, SCS, and / or PSD limits of the frequency band 302, as described in more detail below.

[0066] A group of M centralized RBs 310 form a cluster 304. As shown, the frequency interleaving 308 I(0) To 308 (M-1) Forming K clusters 304 C(0) To 304 C(K-1) Each RB 310 may span approximately 12 consecutive subcarriers 312 in frequency and a time period 314. The subcarriers 312 are indexed from 0 to 11. The subcarriers 312 are also referred to as resource elements (REs). The time period 314 may span any suitable number of OFDM symbols 306. In some aspects, the time period 314 may correspond to one transmission time interval (TTI), which may include approximately 14 OFDM symbols 306.

[0067] The number of clusters 304 or the value of K may depend on the amount of frequency distribution required to maintain a certain BW occupancy. As an example, the scheme 300 may divide the frequency band 302 into about 10 clusters 304 (e.g., K=10) and distribute the allocations across the 10 clusters 304 to increase the frequency occupancy of the allocations. In one aspect, the frequency band 302 may have a bandwidth of about 20 MHz and each subcarrier 312 may span about 15 kHz in frequency. In such an aspect, the frequency band 302 may include about 10 frequency interlaces 308 (e.g., M=10). For example, the allocation may include one frequency interlace 308 with 10 distributed or equally spaced RBs 310. An interlaced allocation with 10 distributed RBs 310 allows the UE to transmit with a higher BW occupancy compared to an allocation with a single RB or 10 centralized RBs.

[0068] In another aspect, the frequency band 302 may have a bandwidth of about 10 MHz and each subcarrier 312 may span about 15 kHz in frequency. In such an aspect, the frequency band 302 may include about 5 frequency interlaces 308 (e.g., M=5). Similarly, an allocation may include one frequency interlace 308 with 10 distributed RBs 310. An interlace allocation with 10 distributed RBs may allow for wider BW occupancy compared to an allocation with a single RB or 10 localized RBs.

[0069] In another aspect, the frequency band 302 may have a bandwidth of about 20 MHz and each subcarrier 312 may span a frequency of about 30 kHz.

[0070] In some aspects, RBs 310 are physical resource blocks (PRBs) and each frequency interlace 308 may include PRBs that are evenly spaced in frequency band 302 .

[0071] In the scheme 300, UE A may select one or more frequency interlaces 308 for sidelink communication with UE B in COT 320. As an example, UE A selects frequency interlaces 308 represented by the pattern box. I(0) For sidelink communication with UE B in COT 320. In some other examples, UE A may select a different frequency interlace 308 I(m), where m can be between 1 and M-1 for sidelink communication. In addition, UE A can use any suitable number of frequency interlaces 308 for sidelink communication, for example, between 1 and M frequency interlaces 308.

[0072] Frequency Interleaving 308 I(0) The sidelink communication on the 3080P may include sidelink data and SCI. The sidelink data may be transmitted via the PSSCH. The SCI may be transmitted via the PSCCH. The SCI may carry information or parameters related to the transmission of the PSSCH. In some aspects, the PSCCH may be mapped to the frequency interlace 308. I(0) The lowest frequency RB 310 and the highest frequency RB 310 are used for frequency diversity and can be interleaved 308 by frequency I(0) The remaining RB 310 is used to carry the PSSCH. In other words, the PSCCH can be mapped to the frequency interlace 308. I(0) Located in cluster 304 C(0) and 304 C(K-1) RB 310, and PSSCH can be mapped to frequency interlace 308 I(0) Located in cluster 304 C(1) To 304 C(K-2) RB 310 inside.

[0073] Although Figure 3B A frequency interleave 308 is shown spanning one time slot or one RB 310 duration (e.g., time period 314), but the frequency interleave 308 can span a longer duration, for example, 2, 3 or more time slots or any suitable number of symbol 306 durations. Since each transmission burst in the frequency band 302 requires an LBT (e.g., LBT 330) and each LBT may have a certain delay or overhead, the UE can take full advantage of channel access after winning the COT (e.g., COT 320). For example, the UE can schedule multiple sidelink communications (e.g., over multiple consecutive transmission time intervals (TTIs)) in the duration of the COT without performing additional LBTs between the sidelink communications. Each sidelink communication in the COT can communicate with the same UE or a different UE. Each sidelink communication may include a TB sent in a TTI using one or more frequency interleaves 308. However, the UE may not need all frequency interleaves 308 in the frequency band 302 for each sidelink communication. Therefore, there may be unused frequency interleaves 308 or frequency domain resources in the COT. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may have acquired a COT having a duration longer than the duration required for the sidelink communication. Therefore, there may be unused time domain resources in the COT.

[0074] Therefore, the present disclosure provides a technique for UEs to share sidelink COT resources. For example, a sidelink UE initiating a COT may indicate information about unused or available time and / or frequency domain resources in the COT that may be shared with other sidelink UEs. A monitoring sidelink UE may monitor the COT sharing information, and, based on the detected COT sharing information, join the COT at an appropriate time and utilize unused or available resources in the COT.

[0075] Figure 4 4 is a block diagram of an exemplary UE 400 according to some aspects of the present disclosure. UE 400 may be the above Figure 1 1. As shown, UE 400 may include a processor 402, a memory 404, a sidelink communication module 408, a transceiver 410 including a modem subsystem 412 and a radio frequency (RF) unit 414, and one or more antennas 416. These elements may communicate with each other directly or indirectly, for example, via one or more buses.

[0076] The processor 402 may include a central processing unit (CPU), a digital signal processor (DSP), an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC), a controller, a field programmable gate array (FPGA) device, another hardware device, a firmware device, or any combination thereof configured to perform the operations described herein. The processor 402 may also be implemented as a combination of computing devices, for example, a combination of a DSP and a microprocessor, a plurality of microprocessors, a combination of one or more microprocessors and a DSP core, or any other such configuration.

[0077] Memory 404 may include cache memory (e.g., cache memory of processor 402), random access memory (RAM), magnetoresistive RAM (MRAM), read-only memory (ROM), programmable read-only memory (PROM), erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM), electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM), flash memory, solid-state memory devices, hard drives, other forms of volatile and non-volatile memory, or a combination of different types of memory. In one aspect, memory 404 includes a non-transitory computer-readable medium. Memory 404 may store or have recorded thereon instructions 406. Instructions 406 may include instructions that, when executed by processor 402, cause processor 402 to perform operations in conjunction with aspects of the present disclosure (e.g., Figures 6 to 13Instructions 406 may also be referred to as program code. The program code may be used to cause the wireless communication device to perform the operations, for example, by causing one or more processors (such as processor 402) to control or command the wireless communication device to do so. The terms "instructions" and "code" should be broadly interpreted to include any type of computer-readable statements. For example, the terms "instructions" and "code" may refer to one or more programs, routines, subroutines, functions, processes, etc. "Instructions" and "code" may include a single computer-readable statement or a plurality of computer-readable statements.

[0078] The sidelink communication module 408 may be implemented via hardware, software, or a combination thereof. For example, the sidelink communication module 408 may be implemented as a processor, circuit, and / or instructions 406 stored in the memory 404 and executed by the processor 402. In some examples, the sidelink communication module 408 may be integrated within the modem subsystem 412. For example, the sidelink communication module 408 may be implemented by a combination of software components (e.g., executed by a DSP or general purpose processor) and hardware components (e.g., logic gates and circuits) within the modem subsystem 412.

[0079] The sidelink communication module 408 may be used in various aspects of the present disclosure, for example, Figures 6 to 13 Aspects of the invention. The sidelink communication module 408 is configured to compete for a COT in a shared radio frequency band in order to perform sidelink communication with another UE (e.g., UE 115 and / or 215) by performing LBT and / or sending sidelink communication (e.g., including PSSCH and PSCCH communication) in the COT once the COT is won. The shared radio frequency band may be divided into a plurality of frequency interlaces of RBs. In some aspects, the sidelink communication module 408 is configured to select one or more frequency interlaces from a plurality of frequency interlaces to send sidelink communication during the COT. In some aspects, the sidelink communication module 408 is configured to include a COT shared SCI in the PSSCH communication so that another sidelink UE can opportunistically join the COT and utilize any time and / or frequency resources not occupied by the sidelink communication of UE 400. For example, for interlace-based sharing, the COT sharing information may include information associated with available or unoccupied frequency interlaces in the COT, the duration of the COT, the end time of the COT, an interval period within the COT for responding to the sidelink UE performing LBT before joining the COT, and / or a CAPC for acquiring the COT. For time domain-based sharing, the COT sharing information may include timing information associated with unoccupied time resources and / or a contention time slot timing grid for competing for unoccupied time resources, and a CAPC for acquiring the COT.

[0080] In some aspects, the sidelink communication module 408 is configured to send a sidelink resource configuration request, a sidelink resource request and / or a sidelink COT sharing request to a BS (e.g., BS 105 and 215) and / or receive a sidelink resource configuration from a BS. The sidelink resource configuration may indicate a time, cycle and / or frequency band in which UE 400 may compete for COT for sidelink communication (e.g., PSSCH / PSCCH / PSFCH). The sidelink resource configuration may indicate whether the sidelink UE 400 is allowed to share the sidelink COT with another sidelink UE. The sidelink resource configuration may indicate a rule for UE 400 to share the sidelink COT. For example, the rule may indicate that the sidelink COT sharing may be based on frequency interleaving-based sharing and / or time domain-based sharing. The rule may also indicate a rule for UE 400 to propagate the sidelink COT sharing information received from another UE and / or in response to the sidelink COT sharing information propagated by another UE. This document describes the mechanism for sidelink COT sharing in more detail.

[0081] In some aspects, the sidelink communication module 408 is configured to apply HARQ technology to the sidelink data communication, send a scheduling SCI, the scheduling SCI includes an indication of the LBT type and / or resources to be used by the receiving sidelink UE to send HARQ ACK / NACK for the sidelink data communication. In some aspects, the sidelink communication module 408 is configured to receive a sidelink data communication associated with a HARQ process from another UE (e.g., UE 115, 215 and / or 400), receive a scheduling SCI, the scheduling SCI includes an indication of the LBT type and / or resources to be used by the UE 400 to send HARQ ACK / NACK for the sidelink data communication. Mechanisms for sidelink communications with HARQ are described in more detail herein.

[0082] As shown, the transceiver 410 may include a modem subsystem 412 and an RF unit 414. The transceiver 410 may be configured to communicate bidirectionally with other devices, such as the BS 105. The modem subsystem 412 may be configured to modulate and / or encode data from the memory 404 and / or the sidelink communication module 408 according to a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) (e.g., a low-density parity check (LDPC) coding scheme, a turbo coding scheme, a convolutional coding scheme, a digital beamforming scheme, etc.). The RF unit 414 may be configured to process (e.g., perform analog-to-digital conversion or digital-to-analog conversion, etc.) the modulated / encoded data (e.g., PSSCH data and / or PSCCH control information, COT shared SCI, HARQ ACK / NACK) from the modem subsystem 412 (on outbound transmission) or the modulated / encoded data of a transmission originating from another source, such as the UE 115 or the BS 105. The RF unit 414 may also be configured to perform analog beamforming in conjunction with digital beamforming.Although shown as integrated together in the transceiver 410, the modem subsystem 412 and the RF unit 414 may be separate devices coupled together at the UE 115 to enable the UE 115 to communicate with other devices.

[0083] RF unit 414 can provide modulated and / or processed data, such as data packets (or more generally, data messages that can contain one or more data packets and other information) to antenna 416 for transmission to one or more other devices. Antenna 416 can also receive data messages sent from other devices. Antenna 416 can provide received data messages for processing and / or demodulation at transceiver 410. Transceiver 410 can provide demodulated and decoded data (e.g., PSSCH data and / or PSCCH control information, COT shared SCI, HARQ ACK / NACK) to sidelink communication module 408 for processing. Antenna 416 can include multiple antennas with similar or different designs to maintain multiple transmission links. RF unit 414 can configure antenna 416.

[0084] In the example, the transceiver 410 is configured to send PSSCH data, PSCCH SCI, sidelink COT shared SCI, sidelink scheduling SCI and / or physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) ACK / NACK feedback to another UE and / or receive PSSCH data, PSCCH SCI, sidelink COT shared SCI, sidelink scheduling SCI and / or PSFCH ACK / NACK feedback from another UE, for example, by coordinating with the sidelink communication module 408.

[0085] In one aspect, the UE 400 may include multiple transceivers 410 that implement different RATs (e.g., NR and LTE). In one aspect, the UE 400 may include a single transceiver 410 that implements multiple RATs (e.g., NR and LTE). In one aspect, the transceiver 410 may include various components, where different combinations of the multiple components may implement different RATs.

[0086] Figure 5 is a block diagram of an exemplary BS 500 according to some aspects of the present disclosure. BS 500 may be as described above. Figure 1 1. As shown, BS 500 may include a processor 502, a memory 504, a sidelink communication module 508, a transceiver 510 including a modem subsystem 512 and an RF unit 514, and one or more antennas 516. These elements may communicate with each other directly or indirectly, for example, via one or more buses.

[0087] The processor 502 may have various characteristics as a particular type of processor. For example, these may include a CPU, a DSP, an ASIC, a controller, an FPGA device, another hardware device, a firmware device, or any combination thereof configured to perform the operations described herein. The processor 502 may also be implemented as a combination of computing devices, for example, a combination of a DSP and a microprocessor, a plurality of microprocessors, one or more microprocessors in combination with a DSP core, or any other such configuration.

[0088] The memory 504 may include cache memory (e.g., cache memory of the processor 502), RAM, MRAM, ROM, PROM, EPROM, EEPROM, flash memory, solid-state memory devices, one or more hard disk drives, memristor-based arrays, other forms of volatile and non-volatile memory, or a combination of different types of memory. In some aspects, the memory 504 may include non-transitory computer-readable media. The memory 504 may store instructions 506. The instructions 506 may include instructions that, when executed by the processor 502, cause the processor 502 to perform the operations described herein (e.g., Figure 6 to Figure 1 0). Instructions 506 may also be referred to as code, which may be broadly interpreted as including the above-mentioned Figure 4 Any type of computer-readable statement discussed.

[0089] The sidelink communication module 508 may be implemented via hardware, software, or a combination thereof. For example, the sidelink communication module 508 may be implemented as a processor, circuit, and / or instructions 506 stored in the memory 504 and executed by the processor 502. In some examples, the sidelink communication module 508 may be integrated within the modem subsystem 512. For example, the sidelink communication module 508 may be implemented by a combination of software components (e.g., executed by a DSP or general purpose processor) and hardware components (e.g., logic gates and circuits) within the modem subsystem 512.

[0090] The sidelink communication module 508 may be used in various aspects of the present disclosure, for example, Figure 6 to Figure 1 0. The sidelink communication module 508 is configured to: configure a pool of sidelink resources for sidelink UEs (e.g., UEs 115, 215, and / or 400) for sidelink communications (e.g., PSSCH, PSCCH) and / or a pool of sidelink ACK / NACK resources for PSFCH communications, determine whether to allow COT sharing between sidelink UEs, determine rules for COT sharing between sidelink UEs, and / or send sidelink resource configurations to sidelink UEs. The sidelink resource configuration may indicate a time, period, and / or frequency band in which the sidelink UE may compete for the COT for sidelink communications (e.g., PSSCH / PSCCH / PSFCH). The sidelink resource configuration may indicate whether the sidelink UE is allowed to share the sidelink COT with another sidelink UE. The sidelink resource configuration may indicate rules for sidelink UEs to share the sidelink COT. For example, the rules may indicate that the sidelink COT sharing may be based on frequency interleaving-based sharing and / or time domain-based sharing. The rules may also indicate rules for a sidelink UE to propagate sidelink COT sharing information received from another UE and / or to respond to the propagated sidelink COT sharing information. In some aspects, the sidelink communication module 508 is configured to receive a sidelink resource request and / or a sidelink COT sharing request from a sidelink UE, and may send a sidelink resource configuration in response to the request.

[0091] As shown, the transceiver 510 may include a modem subsystem 512 and an RF unit 514. The transceiver 510 may be configured to communicate bidirectionally with other devices (such as UE 115 and / or UE 400 and / or another core network unit). The modem subsystem 512 may be configured to modulate and / or encode data according to an MCS (e.g., an LDPC coding scheme, a turbo coding scheme, a convolutional coding scheme, a digital beamforming scheme, etc.). The RF unit 514 may be configured to process (e.g., perform analog-to-digital conversion or digital-to-analog conversion, etc.) modulated / encoded data (e.g., sidelink resource configuration, sidelink COT sharing configuration) from the modem subsystem 512 (on outbound transmission) or modulated / encoded data transmitted from another source (e.g., UE 115 and / or UE 400). The RF unit 514 may also be configured to perform analog beamforming in conjunction with digital beamforming. Although shown as being integrated together in transceiver 510, modem subsystem 512 and / or RF unit 514 may be separate devices that are coupled together at BS 105 to enable BS 105 to communicate with other devices.

[0092] The RF unit 514 can provide modulated and / or processed data, such as data packets (or more generally, data messages that can contain one or more data packets and other information) to the antenna 516 for transmission to one or more other devices. This can include, for example, the transmission of information according to some aspects of the present disclosure to complete the attachment to the network and the communication with the resident UE 115 or 400. The antenna 516 can also receive data messages sent from other devices and provide the received data messages for processing and / or demodulation at the transceiver 510. The transceiver 510 can provide the demodulated and decoded data (e.g., sidelink resource configuration request, sidelink COT sharing request) to the sidelink communication module 508 for processing. The antenna 516 can include multiple antennas with similar or different designs to maintain multiple transmission links.

[0093] In one example, the transceiver 510 is configured to send a resource configuration indicating frequency interleaving to a UE (e.g., UE 115 and 400) and receive a UL control channel signal (e.g., a PUCCH signal) modulated by HARQ ACK / NACK and SR in the frequency interleaving from the UE, for example, by coordinating with the sidelink communication module 508.

[0094] In one aspect, the BS 500 may include multiple transceivers 510 that implement different RATs (e.g., NR and LTE). In one aspect, the BS 500 may include a single transceiver 510 that implements multiple RATs (e.g., NR and LTE). In one aspect, the transceiver 510 may include various components, where different combinations of the multiple components may implement different RATs.

[0095] Figures 6 to 9 Various mechanisms are shown for a sidelink UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, and / or 400) to share a COT acquired by the sidelink UE with another sidelink UE for sidelink communication. Figure 6 and Fig. 9 In the schemes 600, 700, 800 and / or 900, a UE such as UE 115, 215 and / or 400 may be employed in a network such as network 100 and / or 200. In particular, the UE may acquire a COT and provide COT sharing information to allow other UEs to join the COT and / or monitor the COT sharing information from another sidelink UE and join the COT of the other UE, as shown in the schemes 600, 700, 800 and / or 900.

[0096] Figure 6 A sidelink COT sharing scheme 600 is shown in accordance with some aspects of the present disclosure. Scheme 600 provides COT sharing between sidelink UEs (e.g., UEs 115, 215, and / or 400) using frequency interleaving-based sharing. For simplicity, scheme 600 is described using a frequency interleaved resource structure similar to scheme 300, and the same reference numerals as in FIG. 3 may be used. To simplify the discussion, an example of a 10 MHz BW (e.g., frequency band 302) with a 15 kHz SCS and 10 clusters 304 (e.g., K=10) is shown. Thus, each frequency interlace 308 in the COT I(m) Ten RBs (e.g., RB 310) may be included, where m may vary from 0 to M-1. However, the scheme 600 may be applied to a COT including any suitable number of RBs 310 and / or any SCS (e.g., 30 kHz, 60 kHz, or more). Frequency interleaving 308 I(0) The RBs in are shown as RB(0) to RB(9).

[0097] In scheme 600, UE 615a (e.g., UE 115, 215, and / or 400) may initiate or contend for COT 602 in frequency band 302 by performing LBT 630 in frequency band 302. LBT 630 may be a CAT4 LBT similar to LBT 330. LBT 630 is passed as indicated by the selection mark indicating that UE 615a wins COT 602. After winning COT 602, UE 615a may send a sidelink communication to UE 615b. UE 615a may select frequency interlace 308 from frequency band 302 for sidelink communication. Figure 6 In the example shown, UE 615a selects frequency interlace 308 I(0) In some other examples, UE 615a may select another frequency interlace 308 I(m) , where m can be between 1 and 9. The sidelink communication may include PSSCH communication 610 and PSCCH communication 612. PSSCH communication 610 may include sidelink data. PSCCH communication 612 may include SCI 642 related to the transmission or scheduling of the sidelink data. The scheduling SCI 642 may help UE 615b receive and decode the sidelink data. In one example, the scheduling SCI 642 may indicate the TTI duration and / or frequency interlace or RB within the frequency interlace in which the sidelink data is sent, the MCS used to send the sidelink data, the transmit power used to send the sidelink data, and / or any other transmission-related parameters. To provide frequency diversity, UE 615a may use the highest frequency RB (e.g., RB(0)) to send PSCCH communication 612 and may use the highest frequency RB (e.g., RB(0)) to send PSCCH communication 612 in the frequency interlace 308. I(0) UE 615a may repeat the transmission in the lowest frequency RB (e.g., RB (9)) of frequency interleaving 308. I(0) PSSCH communication 610 is sent in the remaining RBs.

[0098] To provide sidelink COT sharing, UE 615a may additionally include a sidelink COT sharing SCI 640 in the PSCCH communication 612. In some aspects, SCI 640 may indicate the remaining unused frequency interlaces 308 so that other sidelink UEs (e.g., UE 615c) monitoring the sidelink COT sharing SCI 640 may opportunistically join COT 602 and utilize the remaining unused frequency interlaces 308 for sidelink transmissions. In this regard, UE 615a may include an indication of the remaining unused frequency interlaces 308 in SCI 640. Figure 6 In the example shown, SCI 640 may indicate frequency interleaving 308 I(1)To frequency interleaving 308 I(9) In some other examples, the UE 615a may include in the SCI 640 a reservation or indication of the frequency interlace 308 to be used by the UE 615a. Figure 6 In the example shown, SCI 640 may indicate frequency interleaving 308 I(0) is being used or reserved by UE 615a, so other UEs wishing to join COT 602 can avoid using the reserved frequency interlace 308 I(0) .

[0099] Additionally, the SCI 640 may indicate how long the COT 602 may last, so that another UE that wishes to join the COT 602 may know how long channel access is allowed when using the unused frequency interlace 308. In this regard, the UE 615a may include the duration of the COT 602 and / or the end time of the COT 602 (e.g., time T1) in the SCI 640. As described above, the UE that wins the COT may use the COT for multiple sidelink transmissions over multiple TTIs or time slots to avoid incurring additional LBT overhead or delays. Figure 6 In the example shown, UE 615a schedules three time slots 606 in COT 602. In some other instances, UE 615a may schedule 2, 4 or 5 time slots for sidelink communication with UE 615b. For example, PSSCH communication 610 may include a TB spanning three time slots 606. UE 615a may include time slot or TTI aggregation information in the scheduling SCI 642, and the time slot or TTI aggregation information indicates the aggregation of 3 time slots for scheduling. In some other instances, UE 615a may send sidelink communications (e.g., including PSSCH and PSCCH) to different UEs in different time slots 606 within COT 602. For example, UE 615a may schedule 3 UEs for sidelink communication during COT 602, and each UE has a scheduling of 4 time slots 606. UE 615a may indicate in COT shared SCI 640 the duration of 16 slots 606 for COT 602 and in scheduling SCI 642 the duration of 4 slots for the first PSSCH schedule. Figure 6 SCI 640 and SCI 642 are shown as separate messages, but in some instances, SCI 640 and SCI 642 may be sent in a single SCI message. In other words, the COT shared information (shown by SCI 640) may be included as part of SCI 642.

[0100] In scheme 600, UE 615c may monitor sidelink COT shared information from other sidelink UEs. As described above, COT shared information (e.g., SCI 640) may be included as part of a regular SCI 642 sent in a PSCCH for sidelink communications. Since the COT shared information is carried in the PSCCH, UE 615c may perform monitoring based on a PSCCH resource mapping, which may be predetermined (e.g., at the highest frequency RB and the lowest frequency RB of a frequency interlace), discovered via a sidelink discovery process, and / or configured by a serving BS. UE 615c may detect the COT shared SCI 640 sent by UE 615a, as shown by the dashed link with a selection mark. UE 615c may recover information associated with unoccupied frequency interlaces 308 in COT 602 from the SCI 640. UE 615c may be interested in using one or more unused frequency interlaces 308 indicated by the SCI 640. In Figure 6 In the example shown, UE 615c selects frequency interlace 308 in COT 602. I(1) for PSSCH / PSCCH communication 620. However, in some other instances, the UE 615c may select another frequency interlace 308. I(m) For PSSCH / PSCCH communication 620, where m can be between 2 and 9, and one or more unoccupied frequency interlaces 308 can be selected for PSSCH / PSCCH communication 620. UE 615c can use a substantially similar mechanism as UE 615a to send PSSCH / PSCCH communication 620. Wherein PSCCH can be selected in the selected frequency interlace 308 I(1) The PSSCH can be transmitted in the highest frequency RB and the lowest frequency RB, and the PSSCH can use the selected frequency interleaving 308. I(1) UE 615c joining the COT 602 initiated by UE 615a may be referred to as a responding UE.

[0101] In some aspects, to reduce the probability that multiple monitoring sidelink UEs in the vicinity of UE 615a select the same unoccupied frequency interlace 308 in COT 602 for sidelink transmission, UEs wishing to join COT 602 may hash a random number and select an unoccupied frequency interlace 308 based on the hashed random number. For example, when there are X available frequency interlaces 308 in COT 602, responding UE 615b may draw a random number between 0 and X-1 and select an unoccupied frequency interlace 308 based on the drawn random number.

[0102] In some aspects, the UE 615a may schedule one or more transmission intervals 604 in the COT 602. The intervals 604 allow a monitoring sidelink UE (e.g., UE 615c) to perform Category 2 (CAT2) LBT 632 before joining the COT 602. CAT2 LBT may be referred to as a one-time LBT without random backoff. In some instances, the intervals 604 may have a duration of approximately 16 microseconds (μs). The UE 615a may determine the location of the intervals 604 within the COT 602. For example, the UE 615a may determine the intervals 604 so that the relative time between the SCI 640 and the intervals 604 is long enough to allow the monitoring UE to process and decode the SCI 640. The UE 615a may indicate timing information of the intervals 604 in the SCI 640 to facilitate LBT at the monitoring UE. In this regard, the SCI 640 may include a start time of the interval period 604, an end time of the interval period 604, wherein the start time and / or the end time may be relative to a time position (e.g., in symbol time or any time unit) of the SCI 640. For example, the responding UE 615c may recover timing information associated with the interval period 604 from the SCI 640. The UE 615c may perform the LBT 632 during the interval period 604 indicated by the SCI 640, and transmit the PSSCH / PSCCH communication 620 if the LBT 632 passes.

[0103] In some aspects, the UE 615a may perform a CAT4 LBT 630 based on a certain CAPC. The CAPC may determine the type or priority of traffic that the UE 615a may send in the COT 602, and / or the transmit power or duration that the UE 615a may use for transmissions in the COT 602 once it passes through the CAT4 LBT 630. To facilitate COT sharing, the UE 615a may include an indication of the CAPC in the SCI 640 to provide the CAPC information to the responding UE 615c. Upon receiving the SCI 640, the UE 615c may recover the CAPC information and use the COT 602 for traffic having the same CAPC or a lower CAPC than the CAPC indicated in the SCI 640.

[0104] Typically, the sidelink UE 615a may include COT sharing information in the SCI 640, such as information associated with one or more unoccupied frequency interlaces in the COT 602, the end time of the COT 602, the duration of the COT 602, the interval period 604 in the COT 602, and / or the CAPC associated with the CAT4 LBT 630 used to acquire the COT 602.

[0105] Figure 7 A sidelink COT sharing scheme 700 according to some aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The scheme 700 provides COT sharing between sidelink UEs (e.g., UEs 115, 215, and / or 400) using time domain-based sharing. The scheme 700 can be applied to share the COT in the frequency band 302 of Figure 3. In the scheme 700, UE 715a (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, and / or 615) can initiate or compete for COT 702630 in frequency band 302 by performing CAT4 LBT 730 (e.g., LBT 630) in frequency band 302. LBT 730 is passed, as shown by the selection mark indicating that UE 615a wins COT 702. After winning COT 702, UE 715a can send PSSCH communication 710 and PSCCH communication 712 to UE 715b. PSSCH communication 710 may include sidelink data substantially similar to PSSCH communication 610. PSCCH communication 712 may include SCI 742 (eg, SCI 642) that schedules transmission associated with PSSCH communication 710.

[0106] UE 715a may transmit PSSCH communications 710 and PSCCH communications 712 using a frequency interleaving structure similar to that described in schemes 300 and 600. For example, UE 715a may use all frequency interleavings (e.g., frequency interleaving 308) in frequency band 302 for PSSCH communications 710 and PSCCH communications 712, wherein PSCCH communications 712 are transmitted in the highest frequency RB and the lowest frequency RB within frequency band 302. In some instances, UE 715a may acquire COT 702 having a longer duration than required for PSSCH communications 710. For example, UE 715a may acquire COT 702 based on a CAPC for a particular service (carried by PSSCH communications 710). However, COT 702 based on the CAPC may have a longer duration than the duration of PSSCH communications 710. As Figure 7 As shown in , a portion of the time resources in the COT 702 (eg, in the time period 704 ) is used to transmit the PSSCH communication 710 , and there is remaining time in the COT 702 after the PSSCH communication 710 .

[0107] To provide sidelink COT sharing, UE 715a may additionally include a sidelink COT sharing SCI 740 in the PSCCH communication 712. In some aspects, SCI 740 may indicate unused time resources (e.g., time period 706) remaining in COT 702, such that other sidelink UEs (e.g., UE 715c) monitoring the sidelink COT sharing SCI 740 may opportunistically join COT 702 and utilize the remaining unused time period 706 in COT 702 for sidelink transmissions. In this regard, UE 715a may include timing information associated with the unoccupied time period 706 in SCI 740. In this regard, the UE 715a may include in the SCI 740: the transmission end time 760 of the PSSCH communication 710 (e.g., time T1), the start time when sharing of the COT 702 may enable the UE to begin joining the COT 702 (e.g., T2), and / or the end time 762 of the COT 702 (e.g., time T6).

[0108] In some aspects, in order to reduce the probability that multiple monitoring sidelink UEs near UE 715a select the same unoccupied time resources in COT 602 for sidelink transmission, the scheme 700 can apply a contention slot grid 709 to compete in the unoccupied time period 706. The grid 709 can include multiple contention slots 708, wherein the monitoring sidelink UE can compete for resources in the unoccupied time period 706. The slot grid 709 can start at time T2 after the delay 707. The delay 707 can have a duration long enough for the monitoring sidelink UE to perform CAT2 LBT. Each contention slot 708 can have a duration long enough for one LBT measurement. In some instances, the delay 707 can be about 25 μs in length, and each contention slot 708 can be about 9 μs in length. In general, the delay 707 and the contention slot 708 can have any suitable duration, but the delay 707 can be generally longer than the duration of the contention slot 708. A UE interested in joining the COT 702 may select a contention time slot 708 based on the hashed random number and perform CAT2 LBT for the selected contention time slot 708. To facilitate the use of the contention time slot 708, the UE 715a may include an indication of the contention time slot grid 709 in the SCI 740. For example, the SCI 740 may indicate the delay 707, the start time of the earliest contention time slot 708 in the period 706 (e.g., time T2), and / or the duration of the contention time slot 708.

[0109] exist Figure 7In the example shown, UE 715c can monitor the sidelink COT sharing information from other sidelink UEs. UE 715c can detect the COT sharing SCI 740 sent by UE 715a, as shown by the dotted link with a selection mark between UE 715a and UE 715c. UE 715c can recover information associated with the unoccupied time period 706 and / or the contention time slot grid 709 from SCI 740. UE 715c can hash a random number (e.g., hash value 770), which can correspond to the third contention time slot 708 in period 706. For example, before the start of the hashed third contention time slot 708, UE 715c can perform CAT2 LBT 732 according to the hashed contention time slot 708. CAT2 LBT 732 is passed, as shown by the selection mark. Therefore, UE 715c continues to send PSSCH / PSCCH communication 720. A monitoring sidelink UE 715d near UE 715a can also detect COT sharing 740, as shown by the dotted link with a selection mark between UE 715d and UE 715a. UE 715d may wish to join COT 702. UE 715d can hash a random number (e.g., hash value 772), which can correspond to the seventh contention slot 708 in period 706. According to the hashed contention slot 708, for example, before the start of the hashed seventh contention slot 708, UE 715d can perform CAT2 LBT. However, the transmission of UE '715c is ongoing during the time of performing CAT2 LBT. Therefore, CAT2 LBT is a failure, as shown by the cross symbol. UE 715d can try to compete again later by hashing another random number (e.g., re-hashed value 774), which can correspond to the 12th contention slot 708 in period 706. UE 715d may perform CAT2 LBT 734 based on the re-hashed contention slot 708, for example, before the start of the hashed 12th contention slot 708, and because the transmission of UE 715 is complete, CAT2 LBT 734 is passed as indicated by the selection mark. Therefore, UE 715d may continue to send PSSCH / PSCCH communication 750. Although Figure 7 Two sidelink UEs 715c and 715d are shown sharing the COT 702 of UE 715a. In some examples, the COT 702 may be shared by a single sidelink UE or more than two (eg, about 3, 4, 5, or more) sidelink UEs.

[0110] In some aspects, the hash function used to select the contention slot 708 for joining the COT 702 can depend on the priority level of the traffic of the sidelink UE. In this regard, a sidelink UE with a higher priority can be configured to statistically select an earlier contention slot 708 than a sidelink UE with a lower priority. For example, the unoccupied period 706 can have N contention slots 708, and the high priority UE can hash a random number in the interval between 1 and K, where K<N, and the low priority UE can hash a random number in the interval between K+1 and N.

[0111] In some aspects, similar to scheme 600, UE 715a may perform CAT4 LBT 730 based on a certain CAPC for PSSCH communication 710. UE 715a may include an indication of the CAPC in SCI 740. Responding UEs 715c and / or 715d may send traffic with the same CAPC as indicated in SCI 740 or a lower CAPC.

[0112] Typically, the sidelink UE 715a may include COT sharing information, such as, for example, an unoccupied time period 706, an end time of the PSSCH communication 710 (e.g., time Tl), a start time for sharing the COT 702 (e.g., T2), an end time of the COT 702, a duration of the COT 702, a delay 707 when COT sharing may begin after the end of the PSSCH communication 710, a contention slot grid 709, and / or a CAPC associated with a CAT4 LBT 730 for acquiring the COT 702 in the SCI 740.

[0113] Figure 8 A sidelink COT sharing scheme 800 according to some aspects of the present disclosure is shown. Scheme 800 is substantially similar to scheme 700 and can provide a mechanism for propagating sidelink COT sharing information indicated by a COT initiating sidelink UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, 615, and / or 715). For simplicity, scheme 800 is described using the same COT sharing structure as in scheme 700 and can be used in the same manner as in Figure 7 However, to simplify illustration and discussion, Figure 8 LBTs 730, 732 and / or 734 and contention slot grid 709 are not shown.

[0114] In scheme 800, the detectability of SCI 740 may be different from the detectability in scheme 700. Figure 8As shown in FIG. 7 , UE 715c may detect SCI 740 transmitted by UE 715a, as shown by the dashed link with a selection mark between UE 715c and UE 715a. UE 715c may use the mechanism described in scheme 700 to determine to join COT 702 and transmit PSSCH communication 820 and PSCCH communication 822 during unoccupied period 706. PSSCH communication 820 and PSCCH communication 822 may correspond to Figure 7 820. UE 715b may additionally repeat at least some of the COT shared information sent by UE 715a. In this regard, in addition to the SCI scheduled for PSSCH communication 820, UE 715c may also send SCI 840 in PSCCH communication 822. SCI 840 may include at least some of the COT shared information (e.g., unoccupied time period 706, delay 707, contention slot grid 709, and / or CAPC) recovered from SCI 740. In some instances, SCI 840 may have the same message structure as SCI 740.

[0115] exist Figure 8 In the example shown, UE 715d may not detect SCI 740 transmitted by UE 715a, as shown by the dashed line with a cross symbol between UE 715d and UE 715a. However, UE 715d can detect SCI 840 transmitted by UE 715c, as shown by the dashed line with a selection mark between UE 715d and UE 715c. Therefore, UE 715d can also use the mechanism described in scheme 700 to join COT 702 during period 706 and transmit PSSCH / PSCCH communication 750.

[0116] As can be seen, in scheme 800, a sidelink UE (e.g., UE 715d) can join the COT initiated by another sidelink UE (e.g., UE 715a) as long as the sidelink UE can detect the COT sharing information SCI (e.g., SCI 840) sent by the initiating UE or responding UE (e.g., UE 715c) that transmits the COT sharing information.

[0117] Fig. 9 A sidelink COT sharing scheme 900 according to some aspects of the present disclosure is shown. For simplicity, the scheme 900 is described using the same COT sharing structure as in schemes 700 and 800, and the same COT sharing structure as in schemes 700 and 800 may be used. Figure 7. Similar to scheme 800, scheme 900 provides a mechanism for propagating sidelink COT sharing information indicated by a COT initiating sidelink UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, 615, and / or 715). However, in scheme 900, the sidelink UE can only detect the propagated COT sharing information but not the initiating COT sharing information, and the sidelink UE can join the COT only after the propagating UE has completed its transmission in the COT.

[0118] like Fig. 9 , the detectability of the COT shared SCI 740 is the same as scheme 800, where UE 715c can detect the SCI 740 of the initiating UE 715a, and UE 715d can detect the propagated SCI 840 instead of the SCI 740 of the initiating UE 715a. Therefore, UE 715c can join COT 702 and repeat at least some of the SCI 740 in SCI 940 (e.g., SCI 840) using a similar mechanism as described in scheme 800. UE 715d fails to detect the SCI 740 sent by the COT initiating UE 715a, and UE 715d may not join COT 702 to send PSSCH / PSCCH communication 750, as indicated by the cross symbol.

[0119] In some aspects, in order to enable monitoring sidelink UEs to distinguish between propagated COT sharing information (e.g., SCI940) and initiating COT sharing information, the responding UE 715c can include the following indication in the SCI 940: COT 702 is not sharable, so that UEs that detect SCI 940 but fail to detect the initiating SCI 740 can avoid joining COT 702.

[0120] In some aspects, the responding UE 715c may further include timing information associated with the PSSCH communication 820 in the SCI 940, such as an end time (e.g., time T1) or duration of the PSSCH communication 820, so that after the transmitting UE 715c has completed the PSSCH communication 820, the UE 715d that failed to detect that the initiating SCI 740 may attempt to join the COT 702. Fig. 9 In the example shown, UE 715d can perform LBT after PSSCH communication 820 ends (e.g., based on the hash value) and send PSSCH / PSCCH communication 750 when LBT passes. Including PSSCH communication 820 timing information in SCI 940 can save UE 715d the effort of performing LBT while PSSCH communication 820 is ongoing.

[0121] Although schemes 800 and 900 are described in the context of time domain based sharing, the COT sharing information propagation mechanism may be applied to the interlace based sharing described in scheme 600. For example, a responding UE (e.g., UE 615c) may include in a PSSCH transmission at least some of the COT sharing information indicated by the initiating SCI 640 and / or an indication of the frequency interlace used by the responding UE.

[0122] In some aspects, HARQ technology can be applied to sidelink communications (e.g., D2@, V2V, V2X and / or C-V2X) to improve communication reliability. In some cases, the sidelink UE may be configured with a pool of PSSCH / PSCCH resources and a pool of PSFCH resources (for ACK / NACK transmission). There may be a mapping between the pool of PSSCH / PSCCH resources and the pool of PSFCH resources. Each PSSCH / PSCCH transmission can be mapped to a PSFCH resource. In other words, there is a corresponding PSFCH resource for each PSSCH / PSCCH transmission. In some instances, PSSCH / PSCCH transmission and PSFCH transmission may not be adjacent to each other. Therefore, COT sharing between PSSCH / PSCCH transmission and PSFCH transmission may be difficult. However, it may be advantageous to configure PSFCH resources within the COT of PSSCH / PSCCH transmission to save LBT overhead or delay.

[0123] Fig. 10A and Fig. 10B A sidelink communication scheme 1000 according to some aspects of the present disclosure is collectively shown. Scheme 1000 may be employed by UEs such as UEs 115 and 215 in a network such as network 100 and / or 200. Specifically, the UE may apply HARQ techniques to sidelink communications over sidelinks such as sidelinks 251 and 252, as shown in scheme 1000. Fig. 10A and 10B In , the x-axis represents time in some arbitrary units, and the y-axis represents frequency in some arbitrary units. For simplicity, the scheme 1000 may apply a frequency interleaved resource structure similar to the scheme 300, and may use the same reference numerals.

[0124] Reference Fig. 10A, UE 1015a can compete for COT 1002 in band 302 by performing CAT4 LBT 1030 to communicate with UE 1015b for sidelink using HARQ. UE 1015a and 1015b can be similar to UE 115, 215, 400, 615, and 715. After winning COT 1002, UE 1015a sends PSSCH communication 1010 and PSCCH communication 1012 to UE 1015b. PSSCH communication 1010 may include sidelink data associated with the HARQ process. PSCCH communication 1012 may include SCI 1040 indicating resource information for PSSCH communication 1010.

[0125] In some aspects, as indicated by dashed arrow 1004, the SCI 1040 can further indicate resources (e.g., starting at time T1) 1042 allocated for PSFCH communication 1020 (for indicating ACK / NACK feedback for sidelink data). In some instances, the SCI 1040 can indicate the resources 1042 by indicating a delay between the reception of the SCI 1040 and the transmission of the ACK / NACK. Additionally or alternatively, the SCI 1040 can indicate a type of LBT for the PSFCH communication 1020, as indicated by dashed arrow 1005. The LBT type can be CAT2 LBT or CAT4 LBT, depending on whether the ACK / NACK resources 1042 are within the COT 1002. In Fig. 10A In the example shown, the ACK / NACK resource 1042 is located within the COT 1002. Accordingly, the SCI 1040 may indicate a CAT2 LBT type for the PSFCH communication 1020.

[0126] Upon detecting the SCI 1040, the UE 1015b may receive and decode the PSSCH communication 1010, and send a PSFCH communication 1020 to the UE 1015a to provide a reception status of the PSSCH communication 1010. For example, if the UE 1015b successfully decodes the sidelink data in the PSSCH communication 1010, the UE 1015b may send an ACK in the PSFCH communication 1020. Conversely, if the UE 1015b fails to decode the sidelink data from the PSSCH communication 1010, the UE 1015b may send a NACK in the PSFCH communication 1020. Based on the LBT type information, the UE 1015b may perform a CAT2 LBT 1032 before sending the PSFCH communication 1020. When the LBT 1032 is passed, the PSFCH communication 1020 may be sent.

[0127] Reference Fig. 10BUE 1015a can use Fig. 10A 1020 to transmit sidelink data with HARQ and indicate the resources and / or LBT type used for PSFCH communication 1020. However, Fig. 10B 1010 shows a scenario when the PSFCH resources are located in a different resource pool than the PSSCH communication 1010. Fig. 10B , PSFCH resources 1046 are located outside of COT 1002. Accordingly, UE 1015a may send SCI 1044 in PSCCH communication 1012 indicating a CAT4 LBT type for LBT 1034 prior to PSFCH communication 1020, as indicated by dashed arrow 1007. SCI 1044 may also indicate resource 1046, as indicated by dashed arrow 1006.

[0128] In some aspects, a UE (eg, UE 115, 215, 615, 715, and / or 1015) may utilize the scheme 1000 in conjunction with the above-described respective references to Figure 6 , 7 , 8 and / or 9 describe schemes 600, 700, 800 and / or 900 to transmit sidelink communications with HARQ for frequency interleaving-based COT sharing and / or time domain COT sharing.

[0129] In some aspects, a BS (e.g., BS 105, 205, and / or 500) may assist a sidelink UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715, and / or 1015) in performing COT sharing and / or sidelink HARQ communication as described above in schemes 600, 700, 800, 900, and / or 1000. For example, the BS may configure the sidelink UE with pool sidelink resources, e.g., including a specific duration and / or period for which the sidelink UE may contend for a sidelink COT (e.g., COT 602, 702, and / or 1002), and / or a specific frequency interlace in which the sidelink UE may use for sidelink communication after the sidelink UE wins the COT. The BS may configure the sidelink UE with rules for sidelink COT sharing. For example, the BS may indicate whether the sidelink UE is allowed to share the sidelink COT with another sidelink UE or which COT sharing mode the sidelink UE may use for COT sharing. The COT sharing mode may include the COT sharing mode described above with reference to Figure 6 The frequency interleaving-based sharing mode discussed in scheme 600 of the present invention, and the time domain-based sharing mode discussed above in scheme 700. The BS may also indicate whether to allow the propagation of the sidelink COT sharing information, and how the sidelink UE may respond to the sidelink COT sharing information as respectively referred to in Figure 8 and Fig. 9 The propagated sidelink COT sharing information discussed in Schemes 800 and 900.

[0130] Fig.11 1 is a flow chart of a sidelink communication method 1100 according to some aspects of the present disclosure. The steps of method 1100 may be performed by a computing device (e.g., a processor, processing circuitry, and / or other suitable components) of a wireless communication device or other suitable means for performing steps. For example, a wireless communication device such as UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715, or 1015 may utilize one or more components, such as processor 402, memory 404, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to perform the steps of method 1100. Method 1100 may be implemented as described above with reference to Figure 6 , Figure 7 , Figure 8 and / or Fig. 9 Similar mechanisms in the described schemes 600, 700, 800 and / or 900. As shown, method 1100 includes a plurality of enumerated steps, but aspects of method 1100 may include additional steps before, after, and between the enumerated steps. In some aspects, one or more of the enumerated steps may be omitted or performed in a different order.

[0131] At step 1110, method 1100 includes determining, by a first UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715, and / or 1015), a COT (e.g., COT 320, 602, 702, and / or 1002) in a shared radio frequency band (e.g., band 302) for transmitting a sidelink (e.g., PSSCH communication 610, 710, and / or 1010, and / or PSCCH communication 612, 712, 822, and / or 1012, and / or PSSCH / PSCCH communication 620, 720, and / or 750) with a second UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715, and / or 1015). In some examples, the COT is determined by referring to the above, respectively. Figure 6 and / or Figure 7In the described scheme 600 and / or 700, the first UE may correspond to UE 400 and may utilize one or more components such as processor 402, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to determine a COT in a shared radio frequency band for transmitting a sidelink with a second UE. In some instances, the first UE may utilize transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to receive a signal in a shared radio frequency band. The first UE may utilize processor 402 to perform LBT by measuring the signal energy of the received signal and comparing the measured signal energy to a detection threshold. The first UE may utilize processor 402 and / or sidelink communication module 408 to determine the COT based on LBT success (e.g., the measured signal energy is below a threshold).

[0132] At step 1120, method 1100 includes sending, by the first UE, a sidelink to the second UE using the first resource in the COT, the sidelink including COT sharing information for the second resource in the COT. In some aspects, the sidelink may include sidelink data (e.g., PSSCH communications 610, 710, and / or 1010) and an SCI (e.g., SCI 640 and / or 740) including the COT sharing information. In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400 and may utilize one or more components such as processor 402, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to send the sidelink to the second UE using the first resource in the COT.

[0133] In some aspects, the shared radio frequency band includes a plurality of frequency interlaces (eg, frequency interlace 308) of RBs. Step 1120 includes: using, by the first UE, a first frequency interlace (eg, frequency interlace 308) of the plurality of frequency interlaces during the COT; I(0) ) to transmit a sidelink to a second UE using a first resource of ). In some aspects, the COT sharing information indicates a second frequency interlace (eg, frequency interlace 308) of a plurality of frequency interlaces available during the COT. I(1)). In some aspects, the COT sharing information indicates an interval period (e.g., interval period 604) in the COT for performing LBT (e.g., LBT 632) before using the second frequency interleaving during the COT. In some aspects, the method 1100 also includes avoiding, by the first UE, transmitting in the shared radio frequency band during the interval period. The method also includes: sending another sidelink to the third UE using a third frequency interleaving during the COT after the interval period. In some instances, the third UE may be the same as the second UE. In some other cases, the third UE may be different from the second UE. In some instances, the third frequency interleaving may be the same as the first frequency interleaving. In some other instances, the third frequency interleaving may be a frequency interleaving different from the first frequency interleaving. In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400, and one or more components such as a processor 402, a sidelink communication module 408, a transceiver 410, a modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 may be utilized to avoid transmitting during the interval period and send another sidelink to the third UE.

[0134] In some aspects, step 1110 includes determining the COT based on an LBT (eg, LBT 630 and 730) associated with the CAPC, and the COT sharing information indicates the CAPC.

[0135] In some aspects, the COT shared information includes timing information associated with at least one of a duration of the COT or a duration of the second resource (e.g., period 706). In some aspects, the COT shared information includes timing information associated with a set of contention time slots in the duration of the second resource (e.g., contention time slot 708). In some aspects, the COT shared information includes at least one of a start time of an earliest contention time slot in the set of contention time slots or a duration of a first contention time slot in the set of contention time slots.

[0136] Fig.12 1 is a flow chart of a sidelink method 1200 according to some aspects of the present disclosure. The steps of method 1200 may be performed by a computing device (e.g., a processor, processing circuitry, and / or other suitable components) of a wireless communication device or other suitable means for performing the steps. For example, a wireless communication device such as UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715, or 1015 may utilize one or more components, such as processor 402, memory 404, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to perform the steps of method 1200. Method 1200 may be implemented as described above with reference to the respective embodiments. Figure 6 , Figure 7 , Figure 8and / or Fig. 9 Similar mechanisms in the described schemes 600, 700, 800, and / or 900. As shown, method 1200 includes a plurality of enumerated steps, but aspects of method 1200 may include additional steps before, after, and between the enumerated steps. In some aspects, one or more of the enumerated steps may be omitted or performed in a different order.

[0137] At step 1210, method 1200 includes monitoring, by a first UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715, and / or 1015), sidelink COT sharing information in a shared radio frequency band (e.g., band 302). In some examples, according to the above references, respectively Figure 6 , 7 , 8 and / or 9 described in the schemes 600, 700, 800 and / or 900, the first UE may correspond to UE400, and may utilize one or more components such as processor 402, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to monitor sidelink COT sharing information. In some instances, the first UE may utilize transceiver 410, modem 412 and one or more antennas 416 to receive a signal in a shared radio frequency band. The first UE may utilize processor 402, sidelink communication module 408 and / or modem 412 to decode the received signal, and, based on the PSCCH resource mapping, search for sidelink COT sharing information from the decoded information. The first UE may obtain the PSCCH resource mapping based on a preconfiguration (e.g., the highest frequency RB and the lowest frequency RB located in the frequency interleaving), a sidelink discovery process and / or a configuration received from a serving BS.

[0138] At step 1220, method 1200 includes receiving, by the first UE based on the monitoring, sidelink COT sharing information associated with a COT (e.g., COT 320, 602, 702, and / or 1002) from a second UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715, and / or 1015). In some aspects, the first UE may receive the sidelink COT sharing information in an SCI (e.g., SCI 640, 740, and / or 840).

[0139] In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400 and may utilize one or more components, such as processor 402, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416, to receive sidelink COT sharing information.

[0140] At step 1230, method 1200 includes: based on the COT sharing information, sending, by the first UE during the COT, a sidelink (e.g., PSSCH communication 610, 710 and / or 1010, and / or PSCCH communication 612, 712, 822 and / or 1012, and / or PSSCH / PSCCH communication 620, 720 and / or 750) in the shared radio frequency band to a third UE different from the second UE (e.g., UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715 and / or 1015). In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400, and one or more components such as processor 402, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 may be used to send a sidelink in the shared radio frequency band to the third UE.

[0141] In some aspects, the sidelink COT sharing information indicates one or more frequency interlaces (e.g., frequency interlace 308) of RBs in the shared radio frequency band available in the COT. In some aspects, step 1230 includes: using, by the first UE, a first frequency interlace of the one or more frequency interlaces (e.g., frequency interlace 308) during the COT. I(0) ) sends a sidelink to a third UE. In some aspects, the method 1200 also includes: selecting, by the first UE, a first frequency interlace from one or more frequency interlaces. In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400 and may select the first frequency interlace using one or more components such as processor 402 and sidelink communication module 408. In some aspects, the method 1200 also includes: performing LBT (e.g., LBT 632 and 732) in a shared radio frequency band by the first UE, wherein the transmission is based on LBT. In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400 and may perform LBT using one or more components such as processor 402, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416. In some instances, the first UE may perform LBT via processor 402 by measuring the signal energy of a signal received from the shared radio frequency band, comparing the measured signal with a threshold, and determining whether the LBT is passed or failed based on the threshold comparison. In some aspects, the sidelink COT sharing information indicates an interval period (e.g., interval period 604) within the COT, and LBT is performed during the interval period.

[0142] In some aspects, the sidelink COT sharing information includes information associated with the CAPC, and the sidelink is transmitted based on the CAPC.

[0143] In some aspects, the sidelink COT shared information includes timing information associated with a shared duration (e.g., time period 706) in the COT, and step 1230 includes: sending a sidelink to a third UE within the shared duration by the first UE. In some aspects, method 1200 also includes: performing LBT (e.g., LBT632 and 732) in the shared RF band by the first UE, and sending the sidelink based on the LBT. In some aspects, the sidelink COT shared information includes timing information associated with a contention slot (e.g., contention slot 708) in the shared duration, and performing LBT based on the timing information associated with the contention slot.

[0144] In some aspects, the COT is the COT of the second UE. In other words, the COT is initiated by the second UE.

[0145] In some aspects, the COT is a COT of a fourth UE that is different from the second UE. In other words, the COT is initiated by the fourth UE. In some aspects, step 1230 includes: sending an SCI by the first UE, the SCI including at least some of the sidelink COT shared information received from the second UE to propagate the sidelink COT shared information in the network. In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400 and may utilize one or more components such as processor 402, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to send the SCI to propagate the sidelink COT shared information in the network.

[0146] Fig.13 10 is a flow chart of a sidelink method 1300 according to some aspects of the present disclosure. The steps of method 1300 may be performed by a computing device (e.g., a processor, a processing circuit, and / or other suitable components) of a wireless communication device or other suitable units for performing these steps. For example, a wireless communication device such as UE 115, 215, 400, 615, 715, or 1015 may utilize one or more components, such as a processor 402, a memory 404, a sidelink communication module 408, a transceiver 410, a modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to perform the steps of method 1300. Method 1300 may adopt a mechanism similar to that in scheme 1000 described above with reference to FIG. 10. As shown, method 1300 includes a plurality of enumerated steps, but various aspects of method 1300 may include additional steps before, after, and between the enumerated steps. In some aspects, one or more enumerated steps may be omitted or performed in a different order.

In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400 and may utilize one or more components such as a processor 402, a sidelink communication module 408, a transceiver 410, a modem 412, and one or more antennas 416 to transmit sidelink data and SCI by sending or receiving sidelink data and SCI.

[0148] At step 1320, method 1300 includes: based on the LBT type, transmitting, by the first UE and the second UE, ACK / NACK feedback for the sidelink data. [0149] In some aspects, step 1310 includes transmitting, by the first UE, the sidelink data and the SCI with the second UE during a COT (eg, COT 320, 602, 702, and / or 1002) in a shared radio frequency band.

[0150] In some aspects, the LBT type indicates a CAT2 LBT (e.g., CAT2 LBT 1032) based on the resources used to transmit ACK / NACK feedback (e.g., resources 1042) being within the duration of the COT.

[0151] In some aspects, the LBT type indicates a CAT4 LBT (e.g., CAT4 LBT 1034) based on the resources used to transmit ACK / NACK feedback (e.g., resources 1046) being outside the duration of the COT.

[0152] In some aspects, the method 1300 also includes: determining, by the first UE, a COT in a shared radio frequency band. In some instances, the first UE may correspond to UE 400, and the COT may be determined using one or more components such as processor 402, sidelink communication module 408, transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416. In some instances, the first UE may receive a signal in a shared radio frequency band using transceiver 410, modem 412, and one or more antennas 416. [0153] In some aspects, the SCI indicates resources (eg, resources 1042 or 1046) used to transmit ACK / NACK feedback.

[0154] In some aspects, step 1310 includes sending, by the first UE, sidelink data and SCI to the second UE in a shared radio frequency band, and step 1310 includes receiving, by the first UE, ACK / NACK feedback from the second UE in the shared radio frequency band.

[0155] In some aspects, step 1310 includes receiving, by the first UE, sidelink data and SCI from the second UE in a shared radio frequency band, and step 1320 includes sending, by the first UE, ACK / NACK feedback to the second UE in the shared radio frequency band.

[0156] A further embodiment of the present disclosure includes a wireless communication method. The wireless communication method also includes: sending, by the first UE, a sidelink to the second UE using a first resource in the COT, the sidelink including COT sharing information about a second resource in the COT.

[0157] The method may also include one or more of the following features. For example, the method includes: wherein sending the sidelink includes: sending the sidelink data and sidelink control information (SCI) to the second UE by the first UE using the first resource, the SCI including COT shared information. The shared radio frequency band includes multiple frequency interlaces of resource blocks (RBs), and wherein the sending includes: sending the sidelink to the second UE by the first UE during the COT using the first resource including the first frequency interlace in the multiple frequency interlaces. The COT shared information indicates: a second resource including the second frequency interlace in the multiple frequency interlaces available during the COT. The COT shared information indicates an interval period in the COT for performing listen before talk (LBT) before using the second frequency interlace during the COT. The method may include: avoiding transmission in the shared radio frequency band during the interval period by the first UE; and sending another sidelink to the third UE using the third frequency interlace during the COT after the interval period by the first UE. The determination is based on the listen before talk (LBT) associated with the channel access priority level (CAPC), and wherein the COT shared information indicates the CAPC. The COT shared information includes timing information associated with at least one of a duration of the COT or a duration of the second resource. The COT shared information includes timing information associated with a set of contention time slots in the duration of the second resource. The COT shared information includes at least one of a start time of an earliest contention time slot in the set of contention time slots or a duration of a first contention time slot in the set of contention time slots.
