AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

When using the OIS actuator of the magnet and the coil, the stroke of the lens module becomes longer, resulting in an increase in the gap between the magnet and the coil, making it difficult to drive the actuator and affecting the effect of optical image anti-shake.

Method used

A camera module structure is designed in which the lens module moves perpendicular to the optical axis. Through the cooperation of the frame and the ball member, the gap size between the bearing part and the frame remains unchanged, thereby ensuring a stable gap between the magnet and the coil, achieving a longer stroke and a better driving effect.

Benefits of technology

By keeping the gap size unchanged, the problem of increasing gap between magnets and coils is solved, and the longer lens module stroke and more stable optical image anti-shake effect are achieved, improving the performance of the camera module.

Description

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0002] This application claims the benefit of priority to Korean Patent Application Nos. 10-2020-0154294 and 10-2021-0020121, filed on November 18, 2020 and February 15, 2021, respectively, in the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the disclosures of which are incorporated herein in their entirety by reference for all purposes. Technical Field

[0003] The following description relates to a camera module. Background Art

[0004] Miniature camera modules are being adopted in mobile communication terminals such as tablet PCs, laptop computers, etc., and smart phones. As mobile communication terminals become smaller, image quality deteriorates because the influence of unstable optical images when capturing moving images is greater. Therefore, optical image stabilization technology may be adopted to obtain clear images.

[0005] When an optical image is unstable during image capture, an optical image stabilization (OIS) actuator applying an OIS technology may be used to stabilize the unstable optical image. The OIS actuator may move the lens module in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis to stabilize the unstable image.

[0006] In order to achieve improved OIS and thus improve camera performance, a structure is desired in which the lens module moves in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis to have a longer stroke. However, in the case where an OIS actuator using a magnet and a coil is used for miniaturization and precise driving, when the stroke of the lens module becomes longer, the gap between the magnet and the coil increases, making it difficult to drive the actuator. [0052] The description herein relates to a camera module, which may be applied to, for example, portable electronic devices such as mobile communication terminals, smart phones, tablet PCs, and the like.

[0053] The camera module is, for example, an optical device for photographing still pictures or moving pictures, and includes a lens configured to refract light reflected from a subject and a lens driving device configured to move the lens to adjust a focus or correct a shake.

[0054] Figure 1 is a perspective view of camera modules 1000 and 2000 in an assembled state according to an embodiment. Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of a camera module 1000 according to an embodiment. Figure 8is an exploded perspective view of a camera module 2000 according to an embodiment.

[0055] Reference Figure 1 , Figure 2 and Figure 8 The camera modules 1000 and 2000 may include a housing 1100, a lens module 1500, a lens driving device 1200, and an image sensor unit 1150. The lens module 1500 includes a lens holder 1700 and a lens barrel 1510 accommodated in the housing 1100. The lens driving device 1200 is configured to move the lens module 1500. The image sensor unit 1150 is configured to convert light incident through the lens barrel 1510 into an electrical signal. In addition, the camera modules 1000 and 2000 may further include a housing 1110 and an upper cover 1301 covering the housing 1100 from the top.

[0056] The lens barrel 1510 may have a hollow cylindrical shape so that a plurality of lenses for imaging an object may be accommodated therein, but the present disclosure is not limited to this configuration. For example, the lens barrel 1510 may have a partially cut-away exterior, and a circular lens or a D-shaped cut lens having one side surface partially cut away may be disposed within the lens barrel 1510, and a plurality of lenses may be mounted in the lens barrel 1510 along the optical axis. Depending on the design of the lens barrel 1510, a plurality of lenses may be disposed as desired, and each of the lenses may have optical properties such as the same or different refractive indexes.

[0057] The lens driving device 1200 is a device configured to move the lens barrel 1510 in the optical axis direction or a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction.

[0058] For example, the lens driving device 1200 may adjust the focus by moving the lens barrel 1510 in the optical axis (Z axis) direction, and may correct shaking during imaging by moving the lens module 1500 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis (Z axis).

[0059] The lens driving device 1200 includes a focus adjustment unit (automatic focus adjustment unit) configured to adjust a focus and a shake correction unit (optical image anti-shake unit) configured to stabilize an optical image.

[0060] The image sensor unit 1150 is a device configured to convert light incident through the lens barrel 1510 into an electric signal.

[0061] For example, the image sensor unit 1150 may include an image sensor 1151 and a printed circuit board 1153 connected to the image sensor 1151, and may further include an infrared filter.

[0062] A lens module 1500 including a lens barrel 1510 and a lens driving device 1200 are accommodated in the housing 1100 .

[0063] For example, the housing 1100 has an upper portion and a lower portion that are opened, and the lens module 1500 and the lens driving device 1200 may be disposed in the housing 1100. The image sensor unit 1150 may be coupled to the lower portion of the housing 1100.

[0064] The housing 1110 is coupled to the case 1100 to surround the outer surface of the case 1100 and protect the internal components of the camera module 1000 / 2000. In addition, the housing 1110 may shield electromagnetic waves.

[0065] For example, the housing 1110 may shield electromagnetic waves so that the electromagnetic waves generated by the camera module 1000 / 2000 do not affect other electronic components in the portable electronic device in which the camera module 1000 / 2000 is installed.

[0066] Furthermore, since various electronic components are mounted in the portable electronic device in addition to the camera module 1000 / 2000 , the housing 1110 may shield electromagnetic waves so that electromagnetic waves generated by these electronic components do not affect the camera module 1000 / 2000 .

[0067] The lens driving device 1200 may include a focus adjustment unit and an optical image stabilization unit, wherein the focus adjustment unit is configured to perform automatic focus adjustment by moving the carrier 1300 in the direction of the optical axis, and the optical image stabilization unit is configured to perform optical image stabilization by moving the lens module 1500 disposed in the carrier 1300 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction.

[0068] The focus adjustment unit may include a structure configured to generate a driving force to move the carrier 1300 in the optical axis (Z-axis) direction when the lens module 1500 is accommodated in the carrier 1300. However, although not shown, the camera module of the modified embodiment includes the lens module 1500 disposed in the housing 1100, but does not include a separate carrier. In such an embodiment, the lens module 1500 may perform only optical image stabilization without adjusting the focus within the housing 1100.

[0069] The driving unit of the focus adjustment unit may include a magnet 1320 and a focus adjustment driving coil 1330. The magnet 1320 may be mounted on the carrier 1300. For example, the magnet 1320 may be mounted on one surface of the carrier 1300. The magnet 1320 and the focus adjustment driving coil 1330 may be arranged to face each other in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction. In addition, the magnet 1320 may be magnetized so that the surface opposite to the focus adjustment driving coil 1330 has an N pole and an S pole in the optical axis direction.

[0070] The focus adjustment driving coil 1330 may be mounted on one side surface of the housing 1100. For example, the housing 1100 may have a rectangular box shape including four side surfaces, and the focus adjustment driving coil 1330 may be provided on one of the four side surfaces parallel to the optical axis direction.

[0071] For example, the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 may be mounted on the housing 1100 through the substrate 1130. The focus adjustment drive coil 1330 may be fixed to the substrate 1130, and the substrate 1130 may be fixed to the housing 1100 in a state where a drive coil of an optical image stabilization unit to be described below is also fixed to the substrate 1130.

[0072] The magnet 1320 may be a movable member mounted on the carrier 1300 to move in the optical axis (Z-axis) direction together with the carrier 1300, and the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 may be a fixed member fixed to the housing 1100. However, the present disclosure is not limited to this configuration, and the positions of the magnet 1320 and the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 may be replaced.

[0073] When power is applied to the focus adjustment driving coil 1330, the carrier 1300 can move in the optical axis (Z axis) direction by the electromagnetic force in the optical axis (Z axis) direction between the magnet 1320 and the focus adjustment driving coil 1330. Therefore, the focus adjustment driving coil 1330 can be magnetized to have an N pole and an S pole in the optical axis direction.

[0074] Since the lens barrel 1510 is accommodated in the carrier 1300 , the lens barrel 1510 also moves in the optical axis (Z-axis) direction by the movement of the carrier 1300 .

[0075] The ball member 1370 is disposed between the opposing surfaces of the bearing portion 1300 and the housing 1100 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction. When the bearing portion 1300 moves, the ball member 1370 reduces friction by sliding or rolling between the bearing portion 1300 and the housing 1100. The ball member 1370 may have a spherical shape. The ball member 1370 may be disposed on both sides of the magnet 1320. That is, two ball members 1370 may be disposed on both sides of the magnet 1320, respectively.

[0076] The yoke 1350 is disposed in the housing 1100. For example, the yoke 1350 may be disposed to face the magnet 1320, with the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 interposed between the yoke 1350 and the magnet 1320. In other words, the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 and the magnet 1320 may be disposed opposite to each other, and the yoke 1350 may be disposed on the rear surface of the focus adjustment drive coil 1330, so that the bearing portion 1300 may be tightly supported in the housing 1100 by the ball member 1370 through attraction with the magnet 1320.

[0077] An attractive force acts between the yoke 1350 and the magnet 1320 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis (Z axis). Therefore, the ball member 1370 can be kept in contact with the bearing portion 1300 and the housing 1100 by the attractive force between the yoke 1350 and the magnet 1320.

[0078] In addition, the yoke 1350 also performs a function of focusing the magnetic force of the magnet 1320, and thus, it is possible to prevent the magnetic flux from leaking to the outside.

[0079] In the disclosure herein, a closed-loop control method for detecting the position of the lens barrel 1510 (more specifically, the carrier 1300 ) to feed back the position of the lens barrel 1510 is used.

[0080] Therefore, a position sensor 1360 is provided for closed-loop control. The position sensor 1360 may be a magnetic sensor, such as a Hall sensor.

[0081] The position sensor 1360 may be provided inside or outside the focus adjustment driving coil 1330 , and the position sensor 1360 may be mounted on the substrate 1130 on which the focus adjustment driving coil 1330 is mounted.

[0082] Reference Figure 2 and Figures 4 to 6 , discloses an optical image stabilization unit in a lens driving device 1200 according to an embodiment.

[0083] The lens driving device 1200 may include a focus adjustment unit and an optical image stabilization unit, wherein the focus adjustment unit is configured to move the carrier 1300 in the optical axis direction to perform automatic focus adjustment, and the optical image stabilization unit is configured to move the lens module 1500 disposed in the carrier 1300 in a direction intersecting (perpendicular) to the optical axis direction to perform optical image stabilization.

[0084] The optical image stabilization unit includes a structure configured to generate a driving force to move the lens module 1500 accommodated in the carrier 1300 in a first direction (X-axis direction) and a second direction (Y-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis (Z-axis). Here, the first direction and the second direction may be perpendicular to each other.

[0085] The optical image stabilization unit is used to correct blurring of an image or video shaking caused by factors such as hand shaking of a user when capturing an image or video. For example, when shaking occurs during image capture due to hand shaking of a user, etc., the optical image stabilization unit stabilizes the optical image by imparting a relative displacement corresponding to the shaking to the lens barrel 1510. For example, the optical image stabilization unit corrects the shaking by moving the lens barrel 1510 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis (Z axis).

[0086] The optical image stabilization unit may include a frame 1400 and a lens holder 1700 to which the lens barrel 1510 is coupled. The frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 are sequentially disposed in the carrier 1300. The carrier 1300 may include an upper cover 1301 which is closed from the top in a state where the frame 1400 and the lens module 1500 are disposed in the carrier 1300.

[0087] In the optical image stabilization unit of this embodiment, in the state shown in the accompanying drawings, since the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 move in the first direction (X-axis direction) and the second direction (Y-axis direction) respectively, the lens barrel 1510 moves according to the movement of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 to achieve optical image stabilization.

[0088] When the frame 1400 moves in the first direction (X-axis direction) or the lens holder 1700 moves in the second direction (Y-axis direction), the lens holder 1700 to which the lens barrel 1510 is fixed moves together with the lens barrel 1510. That is, since the lens barrel 1510 is fixed to the lens holder 1700, the lens barrel 1510 naturally moves with the movement of the lens holder 1700. Since the lens barrel 1510 moves in a state where the lens holder 1700 is supported by the frame 1400, the lens barrel 1510 moves together with the frame 1400 even when the frame 1400 moves.

[0089] Due to the structure of the above-mentioned frame 1400, lens holder 1700 and lens barrel 1510, when the frame 1400 moves in the first direction (X-axis direction) or the lens holder 1700 moves in the second direction (Y-axis direction), the lens barrel 1510 moves together with the frame 1400 or the lens holder 1700, and the shake can be corrected.

[0090] The driving unit of the optical image stabilization unit includes a first driving unit configured to drive the frame 1400 and a second driving unit configured to drive the lens holder 1700 .

[0091] The carrying part 1300, the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 are sequentially installed in the optical axis direction. The frame 1400 is configured to be movable relative to the carrying part 1300 in a first direction (X-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis direction, and the lens holder 1700 is configured to be movable relative to the frame 1400 in a second direction (Y-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis direction.

[0092] Therefore, at least three first ball members 1470 and at least three second ball members 1770 may be respectively disposed between the opposing surfaces of the bearing portion 1300 and the frame 1400 and the opposing surfaces of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 for rolling or sliding movement to facilitate movement of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700. That is, at least three first ball members 1470 may be disposed between the opposing surfaces of the bearing portion 1300 and the frame 1400 in the optical axis direction, and at least three second ball members 1770 may be disposed between the opposing surfaces of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 in the optical axis direction.

[0093] The bearing part 1300, the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 sequentially arranged in the optical axis direction can maintain close contact with each other in the optical axis direction. To this end, upper magnetic materials and lower magnetic materials are respectively arranged on the opposing surfaces of the bearing part 1300 and the frame 1400 in the optical axis direction and on the opposing surfaces of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 in the optical axis direction to face each other, so that an attractive force acting in the optical axis direction can be formed.

[0094] For example, both the upper and lower magnetic materials may be magnets so that the attraction works, or one of the upper and lower magnetic materials may be a magnet and the other may be a yoke having magnetism.

[0095] In this case, the upper magnetic material may be a first magnet 1420 and a second magnet 1720 for driving an optical image stabilization unit disposed in the frame 1400 or the lens holder 1700, and in this case, a yoke 1421 may be disposed on the carrier 1300 to face the first magnet 1420 in the direction of the optical axis, and a yoke 1721 may be disposed on the frame 1400 to face the second magnet 1720 in the direction of the optical axis.

[0096] The frame 1400 includes a first magnet 1420, and the first magnet 1420 is disposed to face the first coil 1430 disposed in the housing 1100 in a second direction (Y-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis direction. The first coil 1430 may be mounted on a side surface of the housing 1100. For example, the first coil 1430 may be mounted to face the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 on a side opposite to one side on which the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 is mounted.

[0097] For example, the housing 1100 may be in the shape of a square box having four side surfaces, and the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 may be arranged on one side surface of the housing 1100 parallel to the optical axis direction, and the first coil 1430 may be installed on another side surface of the housing 1100 parallel to the optical axis direction and located on the opposite side of the one side surface.

[0098] The first magnet 1420 is magnetized to have at least an N pole and an S pole along a first direction (X-axis direction) on a surface opposite to the first coil 1430 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction. Therefore, when power is applied to the first coil 1430, the frame 1400 generates a force to move in the first direction (X-axis direction) according to the electromagnetic interaction between the first magnet 1420 and the first coil 1430.

[0099] One or two or more first coils 1430 may be disposed on a side surface of the housing 1100 , and accordingly, one or two or more first magnets 1420 may be disposed to face the one or two or more first coils 1430 .

[0100] In addition, the lens holder 1700 includes a second magnet 1720, and the second magnet 1720 is arranged to face the second coil 1730 in a first direction (X-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis direction. The second coil 1730 may be mounted on the other two side surfaces of the housing 1100. For example, the second coil 1730 may be mounted on all other side surfaces between one side surface and another side surface on which the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 and the first coil 1430 are respectively mounted. That is, the second coil 1730 may be mounted on the other side surfaces facing each other in pairs.

[0101] For example, the housing 1100 may be in the shape of a square box having four side surfaces, and the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 may be arranged on a side surface of the housing 1100 parallel to the optical axis direction, the first coil 1430 may be arranged on another side surface of the housing 1100 parallel to the optical axis direction and positioned opposite to the one side surface, and the second coil 1730 may be respectively installed on the two remaining side surfaces of the housing 1100 arranged opposite to each other.

[0102] The second magnet 1720 is magnetized to have at least an N pole and an S pole along a second direction (Y-axis direction) on a surface opposite to the second coil 1730 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction. Therefore, when power is applied to the second coil 1730, the lens holder 1700 generates a force to move in the second direction (Y-axis direction) according to the electromagnetic interaction between the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730. The first direction (X-axis direction) and the second direction (Y-axis direction) may be perpendicular to each other.

[0103] One or two or more second coils 1730 may be disposed on each of the remaining side surfaces of the housing 1100 , and accordingly, one or two or more second magnets 1720 may also be disposed to face the one or two or more second coils 1730 .

[0104] The first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 may be fixed to the substrate 1130 together with the focus adjustment driving coil 1330 of the focus adjustment unit, and the substrate 1130 may be fixed to the housing 1100. Therefore, the substrate 1130 may be disposed to surround four side surfaces of the housing 1100.

[0105] The frame 1400 may be provided with a first ball member 1470, which is arranged between the relative surfaces of the frame 1400 and the bearing part 1300 in the optical axis direction so as to easily slide or roll on the upper part of the bearing part 1300, and may be provided with a second ball member 1770, which is arranged between the surface of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 perpendicular to the optical axis direction so as to easily slide or roll on the upper surface of the frame 1400.

[0106] A first guide groove 1475 formed to be elongated in the first direction (X-axis direction) so that the first ball member 1470 can slide or roll easily may be provided on at least one of the opposing surfaces of the frame 1400 and the bearing portion 1300 in the optical axis direction. Therefore, the frame 1400 can move in the first direction (X-axis direction) while limiting the movement of the frame 1400 in the second direction (Y-axis direction).

[0107] However, when the frame 1400 moves, the lens holder 1700 disposed within the frame 1400 also moves, so that the position of the lens holder 1700 in the first direction (X-axis direction) may be changed.

[0108] In addition, a second guide groove 1775 formed to be elongated in the second direction (Y-axis direction) so that the second ball member 1770 can slide or roll easily may be provided on at least one of the opposing surfaces facing each other in the optical axis direction of the lens holder 1700 and the frame 1400. Therefore, the lens holder 1700 can move in the second direction (Y-axis direction) while limiting the movement of the lens holder 1700 in the first direction (X-axis direction) within the frame 1400.

[0109] Therefore, the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 respectively disposed in the lens holder 1700 and the housing 1100 can move relative to each other in the second direction (Y-axis direction) while the distance between the opposing surfaces continuously changes. This is because the frame 1400 disposed in the carrier 1300 continuously or intermittently moves in the first direction (X-axis direction) for optical image stabilization.

[0110] When the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 are disposed on only one of the other two side surfaces of the housing 1100 , the driving force of the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 may not function properly.

[0111] Therefore, if Figure 7 As shown, the gap G1 between the relative surfaces of the first magnet 1420 and the first coil 1430 that forms the driving force in the first direction (X-axis direction) can be kept the same, the gap G2 or G3 between the relative surfaces of the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 that forms the driving force in the second direction (Y-axis direction) can be intentionally changed, and alternatively, the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 can be respectively arranged on two opposite sides of the lens holder 1700 to compensate for the driving force.

[0112] That is, the second coil 1730 is arranged on the remaining two side surfaces of the shell 1100 opposite to each other, and the two second magnets 1720 are respectively arranged on the opposite surfaces of the lens holder 1700 to face the second coil 1730 respectively, so that even if the two second magnets 1720 are moved to be biased to any side, any one or two driving units on both sides can be used simultaneously in the second direction (Y-axis direction) to ensure sufficient optical image stabilization driving force.

[0113] The first magnet 1420 and the second magnet 1720 of the optical image stabilization drive unit including the first drive unit and the second drive unit are respectively mounted on the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700, and the first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 facing the first magnet 1420 and the second magnet 1720, respectively, are mounted on the housing 1100. In some drawings, for convenience of explanation, the first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 are shown as being disposed on the carrier 1300, but with reference to Figure 2 , both the first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 can be installed on the housing 1100.

[0114] In addition, the first magnet 1420 and the second magnet 1720 are movable magnets that move in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis (Z axis) together with the lens module 1500, and the first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 are fixed members fixed to the housing 1100. However, the present disclosure is not limited to the above example, and the positions of the first magnet 1420 and the second magnet 1720 and the first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 may be changed from each other.

[0115] In addition, a closed-loop control may be used in the optical image stabilization driving unit, which continuously senses the positions of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 during driving and reflects the positions of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700. Therefore, a first position sensor 1460 and a second position sensor 1760 facing the first magnet 1420 and the second magnet 1720, respectively, may be provided to sense the positions of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700. In this case, the first position sensor 1460 and the second position sensor 1760 may be provided within the first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 of the substrate 1130 or nested with the first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 of the substrate 1130. The first position sensor 1460 and the second position sensor 1760 may be magnetic sensors, such as Hall sensors, etc.

[0116] In addition, two structures are included in which the first magnet 1420 and the second magnet 1720 respectively provided in the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 and the first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 opposite to each other are respectively provided in one or two or more structures.

[0117] The camera module 1000 has a structure in which a housing 1100, a carrier 1300, a frame 1400, and a lens module 1500 are sequentially arranged in the optical axis direction. In the camera module 1000, the carrier 1300 can move in the optical axis direction to implement automatic focus adjustment (AF), and the frame 1400 and the lens module 1500 can move from above the carrier 1300 in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the optical axis to implement optical image stabilization (OIS).

[0118] Figures 8 to 13 A camera module 2000 according to an embodiment is shown. The camera module 1000 and the camera module 2000 include the same reference numerals for most of their structures because most of the structures are the same. However, some structural parts in which the frame 1400 is supported on the carrier 1300 having a structural difference will be described with different reference numerals.

[0119] The camera module 1000 has a structure in which the bearing part 1300, the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 sequentially arranged in the optical axis direction are kept in close contact with each other in the optical axis direction. On the other hand, in the camera module 2000, the structure in which the bearing part 1300, the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 are sequentially arranged in the optical axis direction and the structure in which the lens holder 1700 is supported on the opposite surface of the frame 1400 in the optical axis direction are the same as each other, but there is a difference that the frame 1400 is supported on the surface of the bearing part 1300 parallel to the optical axis direction. Hereinafter, the difference between the camera module 2000 and the camera module 1000 will be mainly described.

[0120] Reference Figure 8 and Fig. 9 , the camera module 2000 includes a focus adjustment unit in the lens driving device 1200. Since the focus adjustment unit of the camera module 2000 has a corresponding structure with the reference Figure 2 and Figure 3 The structure described in the camera module 1000 is the same, so a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0121] Reference Figure 8 and Figures 10 to 12 , the camera module 2000 includes an optical image stabilization unit of the lens driving device 1200. Since the structure is similar to the reference Figure 2 and Figures 4 to 6 The structures described are almost the same, so the description of the entire detailed structure is omitted, and the structure of the frame 1400 supported on a plane parallel to the optical axis direction relative to the bearing portion 1300 will be mainly described, which is different in structure.

[0122] The lens driving device 1200 includes a focus adjustment unit and an optical image stabilization unit. The basic parts of the lens driving device 1200 are substantially the same as those described in the camera module 1000.

[0123] The optical image stabilization unit includes a structure configured to generate a driving force to move the lens module 1500 accommodated in the carrier 1300 in a first direction (X-axis direction) and a second direction (Y-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis (Z-axis). Here, the first direction and the second direction may be perpendicular to each other.

[0124] In the camera module 2000 , among the structures of the shake correction unit, a structure in which the carrier 1300 supports the frame 1400 thereof to move in the first direction (X-axis direction) is different from the corresponding structure in the camera module 1000 .

[0125] The optical image stabilization unit includes a frame 1400 and a lens module 1500 sequentially disposed in a carrier 1300 in an optical axis direction, and the lens module 1500 includes a lens holder 1700 and a lens barrel 1510. The lens barrel 1510 is coupled to the lens holder 1700.

[0126] In the optical image stabilization unit of the camera module 2000, in the state shown in the drawing, when the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 move in the first direction (X-axis direction) and the second direction (Y-axis direction), respectively, the lens barrel 1510 can move together with the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 according to the movement of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700, so that the optical image stabilization can be achieved. Through this structure, when the frame 1400 moves in the first direction (X-axis direction) or the lens holder 1700 moves in the second direction (Y-axis direction), the lens barrel 1510 can move together with the frame 1400 or the lens holder 1700, and the shake can be corrected.

[0127] The driving unit of the optical image stabilization unit includes a first driving unit configured to drive the frame 1400 and a second driving unit configured to drive the lens holder 1700 .

[0128] The carrying part 1300, the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 are arranged in sequence, the frame 1400 is installed to be movable relative to the carrying part 1300 in a first direction (X-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis direction, and the lens holder 1700 is installed to be movable relative to the frame 1400 in a second direction (Y-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis direction.

[0129] Therefore, at least three third ball members 1470a can be arranged between the relative surfaces of the bearing portion 1300 and the frame 1400 perpendicular to the optical axis direction, and at least three second ball members 1770 can be arranged between the relative surfaces of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 in the optical axis direction.

[0130] In more detail, the third ball member 1470a may be disposed at a position opposite to the ball member 1370 for focus adjustment relative to the optical axis. In other words, the ball member 1370 disposed between the bearing portion 1300 and the housing 1100 and used as a rolling unit for focus adjustment drive may be disposed on a side opposite to the side where the third ball member 1470a is disposed relative to the optical axis.

[0131] An attractive force may be applied to the carrier 1300 and the frame 1400 to keep the carrier 1300 and the frame 1400 in close contact in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction, and an attractive force may be applied to the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 to keep the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 in close contact with each other in the optical axis direction. To this end, the carrier 1300 is provided with a first yoke 1450 on the rear surface of the first coil 1430 so that an attractive force may be applied to the first magnet 1420 provided in the frame 1400 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction.

[0132] In addition, the upper magnetic material and the lower magnetic material may be disposed on opposite surfaces of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 in the optical axis direction to face each other so that an attractive force may be formed in the optical axis direction.

[0133] For example, both the upper magnetic material and the lower magnetic material may be magnets so that the attraction works, or one of the upper magnetic material and the lower magnetic material may be a magnet and the other may be a yoke having magnetism. In this case, the upper magnetic material may be a second magnet 1720 for driving the optical image stabilization unit provided in the lens holder 1700. In this case, the second yoke 1721 may be provided to the frame 1400 to face the second magnet 1720 in the optical axis direction.

[0134] The frame 1400 includes a first magnet 1420, and the first magnet 1420 is disposed to face the first coil 1430 disposed in the housing 1100 in a second direction (Y-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis direction. The first coil 1430 may be mounted on a side surface of the housing 1100. In more detail, the first coil 1430 may be mounted on a side surface opposite to one side surface on which the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 is mounted, so as to face the focus adjustment drive coil 1330.

[0135] For example, the shell 1100 may be in the shape of a square box having four side surfaces, and the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 may be arranged on a side surface of the shell 1100 parallel to the optical axis direction, and the first coil 1430 may be installed on another side surface of the shell 1100 parallel to the optical axis direction and positioned opposite to the one side surface of the shell 1100.

[0136] The first magnet 1420 is magnetized to have at least an N pole and an S pole along a first direction (X-axis direction) on a surface opposite to the first coil 1430 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction. Therefore, when power is applied to the first coil 1430, the frame 1400 generates a force to move in the first direction (X-axis direction) according to the electromagnetic interaction between the first magnet 1420 and the first coil 1430.

[0137] One or two or more first coils 1430 may be disposed on a side surface of the housing 1100 , and accordingly, one or two or more first magnets 1420 may be disposed to face the one or two or more first coils 1430 .

[0138] In addition, the lens holder 1700 includes a second magnet 1720, and the second magnet 1720 may be disposed to face the second coil 1730 disposed in the housing 1100 in a first direction (X-axis direction) perpendicular to the optical axis direction. The second coil 1730 may be mounted on all the remaining two side surfaces of the housing 1100. For example, the second coil 1730 may be mounted on all the other side surfaces between one side surface and the other side surface on which the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 and the first coil 1430 are mounted. That is, the second coils 1730 may be mounted in pairs opposite to each other on the remaining side surfaces opposite to each other.

[0139] For example, the shell 1100 may be in the shape of a square box having four side surfaces, and the focus adjustment drive coil 1330 may be arranged on one side surface of the shell 1100 parallel to the optical axis direction, the first coil 1430 may be arranged on another side surface of the shell 1100 parallel to the optical axis direction and opposite to the one side surface, and the second coil 1730 may be respectively installed on the two remaining side surfaces of the shell 1100 arranged opposite to each other.

[0140] The second magnet 1720 is magnetized to have at least an N pole and an S pole along a second direction (Y-axis direction) on a surface opposite to the second coil 1730 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction.

[0141] One or two or more second coils 1730 may be respectively disposed on each of the remaining side surfaces of the housing 1100 , and accordingly, one or two or more second magnets 1720 may also be disposed to face the one or two or more second coils 1730 .

[0142] The first coil 1430 and the second coil 1730 may be fixed to the substrate 1130 together with the focus adjustment driving coil 1330 of the focus adjustment unit, and the substrate 1130 may be fixed to the housing 1100. Therefore, the substrate 1130 may be configured to surround four side surfaces of the housing 1100.

[0143] The frame 1400 may be provided with a third ball member 1470a, which is arranged between the relative surfaces of the bearing portion 1300 and the frame 1400 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction so as to easily slide or roll on the side surface of the bearing portion 1300, and the lens holder 1700 may be provided with a second ball member 1770, which is arranged between the surfaces of the frame 1400 and the lens holder 1700 perpendicular to the optical axis direction so as to easily slide or roll on the upper surface of the frame 1400.

[0144] A third guide groove 1475a formed to be elongated in the first direction (X-axis direction) so that the third ball member 1470a can easily slide or roll in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction may be provided on at least one of the opposing surfaces of the frame 1400 and the bearing portion 1300. Therefore, the frame 1400 can move in the first direction (X-axis direction) in a state where the movement in the second direction (Y-axis direction) is restricted.

[0145] Therefore, the frame 1400 is tightly supported by the bearing portion 1300 in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction, wherein the third ball member 1470a is interposed between the frame 1400 and the bearing portion 1300 by the attraction between the first magnet 1420 and the first yoke 1450. Therefore, the first magnet 1420 and the first coil 1430 respectively provided in the frame 1400 and the housing 1100 can be relatively moved in the first direction (X-axis direction) relative to the opposing surface while maintaining the same distance between the first magnet 1420 and the first coil 1430.

[0146] However, when the frame 1400 moves, since the lens holder 1700 disposed within the frame 1400 also moves, the position of the lens holder 1700 in the first direction (X-axis direction) may change.

[0147] In addition, a second guide groove 1775 formed to be elongated in the second direction (Y-axis direction) so that the second ball member 1770 can slide or roll easily may be provided on at least one of the opposing surfaces of the lens holder 1700 and the frame 1400 facing each other in the optical axis direction. Therefore, the lens holder 1700 can move in the second direction (Y-axis direction) in a state where its movement in the first direction (X-axis direction) is restricted.

[0148] Therefore, the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 respectively disposed in the lens holder 1700 and the housing 1100 can move relative to each other in the second direction (Y-axis direction), while the gap between the opposing surfaces of the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 continuously changes. This is because the frame 1400 disposed in the carrier 1300 continuously or intermittently moves in the first direction (X-axis direction) for optical image stabilization.

[0149] If the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 are disposed on only one of the other two side surfaces of the shell 1100, the driving force of the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 may not function properly according to the continuous change of the gap between the relative surfaces of the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730.

[0150] Therefore, if Fig.13 As shown, in this embodiment, the gap G1 between the opposing surfaces of the first magnet 1420 and the first coil 1430 that form the driving force in the first direction (X-axis direction) remains the same, and the gap G2 or G3 between the opposing surfaces of the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 that form the driving force in the second direction (Y-axis direction) can be intentionally changed. Therefore, the second magnet 1720 and the second coil 1730 can be respectively provided on both sides of the lens holder 1700 to compensate for the driving force.

[0151] That is, the second coils 1730 are respectively disposed on the remaining two side surfaces of the housing 1100 that are opposite to each other, and the two second magnets 1720 are respectively disposed on the opposite surfaces of the lens holder 1700 to respectively face the second coils 1730. Even if the lens holder 1700 is moved to be biased toward either side of the housing 1100, the shake compensation driving force in the second direction (Y-axis direction) can be sufficiently ensured by using the driving units on both sides at the same time or any one of the driving units on both sides.

[0152] As described above, according to the embodiments disclosed herein, an actuator having a novel structure including a magnet and a coil is provided.

[0153] Furthermore, according to the embodiments disclosed herein, by adopting an actuator using a magnet and a coil, optical image stabilization can be sufficiently achieved with a long stroke.
