Metallic cap and method of manufacturing the same

Abstract

This invention relates to a metal cap and a method for manufacturing the metal cap, the metal cap having an viscous inner surface coating and a masking layer that can be formed in the same step, thereby exhibiting excellent productivity. The metal cap is characterized in that a coating is formed between the inner surface of the top plate portion of the metal cap shell and an olefin resin liner, the coating comprising a masking agent and a coating composition containing a viscous component in a base resin, the coating having a viscous portion with respect to the olefin resin liner and a non-viscous or weakly viscous portion with respect to the olefin resin liner. The viscous portion of the coating is formed by directing the viscous component of the coating composition to the surface of the coating. The non-viscous portion of the coating has a masking layer containing a masking agent on the side of the coating opposite to the metal cap shell and on the surface of the coating corresponding to the masking layer, forming an island structure, wherein the viscous component of the coating composition forms a dispersed phase and the base resin forms a continuous phase.
