Positioning method and network-side device for positioning

Abstract

The present disclosure provides a positioning method and a network side device for positioning, and relates to the technical field of communication. The method comprises the following steps: in response to receiving a first positioning request message sent by an access network end, sending a second positioning request message to an AMF, so that the AMF instructs a wireless access network to initiate a positioning measurement process of a terminal to obtain a measurement report; receiving the measurement report sent by an LMF and a second positioning response message sent by the AMF; generating a first positioning response message according to the measurement report; and sending the first positioning response message to the access network end, so that the access network end determines the position information of the terminal. The present disclosure can solve the problems of non-standardization of positioning process and interface of the positioning architecture on the base station side in the related art, and lack of a unified service access portal, which is not conducive to deployment and application.
