A surgical device for cutting substantially across a cornea of an eye of a patient, the device including a positioning ring to be attached to an eye surrounding a cornea to be cut, and defining an aperture sized to receive and expose the cornea to be cut. The surgical device further includes a cutting head assembly structured to be guided and driven over an upper surface of the positioning ring in a generally arcuate path, and having a cutting element positioned therein and structured to oscillate laterally to facilitate smooth and effective cutting of the cornea. The cutting head assembly is structured to be detachably coupled to the positioning ring by a coupling member which permits movement of the cutting head assembly relative to the positioning ring along the generally arcuate path, but maintains sufficient engagement therebetween to ensure that smooth, steady, driven movement is maintained.

A communication system providing wireless communication among wireless users through a number of cellular base stations. The system includes a connecting station with a millimeter wave wirelesstransceiver in communication with a fiber optic or high-speed cable communication network. The transceiver is adapted to communicate at millimeter wave frequencies higher than 60 GHz with another millimeter wave transceiver at one of the cellular base stations. Each of the base stations serves a separate communication cell. Each base station is equipped with a low frequencywireless transceiver for communicating with the wireless users within the cell at a radio frequency lower than 6 GHz and a millimeter wave wireless transceiver operating at a millimeter wave frequency higher than 60 GHz for communicating with another millimeter wave transceiver at another base stations or a millimeter wave transceiver at said at the connecting station. The base stations also are equipped with data transfer means for transferring data communicated through the low frequency transceiver to the millimeter wave wireless transceiver and for transferring data communicated through the millimeter wave wireless transceiver to the low frequency wireless transceiver. In preferred embodiments the system a part of a telephone system, an Internet system or a computer network.

The system for removably and adjustably mounting a device on an object, according to the present invention, includes an apparatus and method useful for removably and adjustably mounting one or more photovoltaic modules on an object such as a pole or roof, and includes one or more triple track rails. Also included are one or more connector brackets that are demountably attachable to the one or more triple track rails and to the object.
In one embodiment, a device for coupling communications signals onto a medium-voltage power line includes a first connector, a second connector and one or more components. The first connector is adapted to couple to a low-voltage communications line. The second connector is adapted to couple to a surge arrester. The one or more components are operable to substantially match the impedances between the surge arrester and the low-voltage communications line.

The room node (22, 24) may comprise sensors (276, 278, 272, 274) which provide information about conditions in the room. Dynamic information can include changes to planned occupancy, the effect of solar heating and weather conditions. Changes to planned occupancy can be established through detecting location (internally or externally) or destination of a user; and calculating estimated time of arrival of a user.
A system for advising an exerciser about his physical activities, associated either with displacement of the exerciser itself or of an object displaced by the exerciser, or an object displaced simultaneously with the exerciser. The system comprises a first unit for monitoring the activities. This unit is not in physical contact with the exerciser or the object, displaced by the exerciser. The first unit is capable to collect raw data defining the activities either in terms of distance or acceleration. The first unit transmits the collected raw data in a wireless fashion to a second unit, which receives the transmitted raw data, processes it and calculates various parameters, defining the said physical activities, and represents the calculated parameters in a form recognizable by the exerciser. The system enables tracking, recording and updating the relevant information, provides improved feedback and thus helps to the exercising individual to improve his performances.
A cable management arm assembly includes a frame, a support rail, a first and a second sliding members, a first and a second connectors, and an insertion socket operating in conjunction with slides. The frame slides on the support rail with both ends connected to the insertion socket and the first connector. The sliding members are respectively mounted in the connectors. A locking member is disposed on each of the connectors and the insertion socket to secure them to the slides. A limiting member is provided on the first connector connected to the frame to retain and release the first sliding member, and the limiting member is pushed when the first connector is inserted into the rear end of the outer rail to release the first sliding member for the support rail to move when the slides extend and the front and the rear arms of the frame unfold.
A system is disclosed for mounting equipment, such as solar panels, to a roof that has shingles. A base plate has at least one mounting aperture therethrough for securing to the roof with a mechanical wood fastener, and at least one bracket projection in an upper surface thereof for securing with a mechanical machinefastener. A flashing plate has a base plate recess formed in a lower surface thereof for receiving the base plate therein. A mounting bracket has at least one aperture therein for receiving one of the bracket projections therethrough for securing the mounting bracket to the at least one bracket projection in the base plate, and through corresponding apertures in the flashing plate. The mounting bracket further includes an attachment aperture adapted to be fixed with the equipment. Additional advantages include using fewer parts by integrating above elements to reduce the costs and steps of installation.
A method of dispensing soap from a fluid dispensing system is disclosed. The method includes the steps of presenting a tube having a tube end disposed at a first position within an indented portion of a spout of the fluid dispensing system, sensing an object below the tube end, in response to sensing the object, expelling said soap from the tube end by drawing the tube end further within the indented portion to a second position, and returning the tube end to the first position.

The present invention is directed to a medical boom with articulated arms and a base cabinet designed to accommodate modular equipment and utility racks that include video processing, computer, and electronic, and other utility equipment that can be easy inserted and removed from the base cabinet is disclosed. The boom includes a stationary base that is configured to be installed into an operating room and one or more boom arms supported by the stationary base and configured to extend over an operating table in the operating room. The structural base includes one or more bays configured to receive a modular rack of electrical equipment. In various embodiments, the structural base cabinet further incorporates wiring to connect the equipment installed in the modular racks to video monitors and other equipment mounted on the articulated booms. The modular racks are preconfigured with a variety of electronic equipment such as computers, video processors and the like. The modular racks are installed in the base cabinet subsequent to the cabinet's structural installation in the operating room and may be readily removed or replaced at a later time.
Programmable telematics systems, methods and apparatus for two-way transmission of data and information between fleet vehicles and a fleet managementsystem. The systems and methods employ a programmable telematics communications unit (TCU) configured to connect to the OBD II port of a vehicle, enabling two-way transmission of data and information between a fleet managementsystem and vehicles in the fleet. The TCU device includes cellular dataconnectivity enabling communication with the management system through existing cellular telephone networks. The programmable TCU may be toggled between multiple operating modes, wherein the TCU provides different functionality, such that a single vehicle may participate in multiple vehicle programs at different points in time, including separate vehicle rental and vehicle sharing programs.

A plastic mounting plate closes a electrical box which delivers wires to an alarm unit or emergency light or the like. The alarm unit is mounted to the mounting plate by a snap connection and a tab-in-slot connection, without requiring the use of a tool. The mounting plate is connected to the electrical box by screws which engage threaded holes provided by the electrical box. The mounting plate can be mounted to either a single-wide electrical box or a double-wide (4×4) electrical box and provides corresponding holes for connection to either box. An alternate mounting plate for a single-wide electrical box is also provided.
A fiber channel-interchangeable fiber optic connector includes an adapter, two connectors respectively rotatably mounted in respective axle holes at the front side of the adapter, a sub-assembly detachably attached to the adapter to stop the connectors from rotation and hold down the connectors in position, and a cable inserted through the sub-assembly and mounted in the adapter with two optical-fiber cores therein respectively inserted into ferrules of the connectors. Detaching the sub-assembly from the adapter allows rotation of the connectors and the sub-assembly through 180-degrees angle relative to the adapter to interchange the fiber channels.

At least one of the base stations is a mobile base station in which low and high speed wireless transceivers are mounted on a temporarily stationary mobile vehicle such as a truck trailer or a truck. The system includes at least one connecting station with a millimeter wave wireless transceiver in communication with a fiber optic or high-speed cable communication network. The transceiver is adapted to communicate at millimeter wave frequencies higher than 60 GHz with another millimeter wave transceiver at one of the cellular base stations. Each base station is equipped with a low frequencywireless transceiver for communicating with the wireless users within the cell at a radio frequency lower than 6 GHz and a millimeter wave wireless transceiver operating at a millimeter wave frequency higher than 60 GHz for communicating with another millimeter wave transceiver at another base station or a millimeter wave transceiver at said at the connecting station. The base stations are also equipped with data transfer means for transferring data communicated through the low frequency wireless transceiver to the millimeter wave wireless transceiver and for transferring data communicated through the millimeter wave wireless transceiver to the low frequency wireless transceiver. In preferred embodiments the system is a part of a telephone system, an Internet system or a computer network.

A rope light track system houses a tubular flexible rope light string and can be mounted on or in various interior and exterior structures to protect the light string from damage and provide utilitarian and decorative lighting. The system includes a plurality of elongate rigid or semi-rigid tracks having a longitudinal generally rectangular U-shaped retention channel with an open end defined by laterally opposed side walls adjoined at one end by a transverse base wall and at least one retainer element near the open end. The tracks have side portions or a mounting flange portion extending outwardly from the retention channel to accommodate various mounting configurations. An elongate tubular flexible rope lighting string is removably mounted in the retention channel and retained therein to prevent accidental removal, and is disposed below the channel open end to protect it from being damaged and allow light emanating therefrom to be directed out of the channel open end. Various control devices control the illuminating operation of the rope light string.
