The application provides a method and system for modeling of seismic exploration velocity model, the method comprises the following steps: S1: collecting original seismic data to establish a velocity model in depth domain by using multiple prior information; S2: using the current velocity model to carry out pre-stack depth migration processing to obtain common imaging point gathers, and stacking the common imaging point gathers to obtain migration imaging profile; S3: generating a weight mask based on the common imaging point gathers and the migration imaging profile; S4: identifying the same phase axis in the common imaging point gathers and the depth domain depth difference and residual curvature of the same phase axis, and simulating the propagation path of the seismic wave in the underground medium based on the imaging point of the same phase axis; S5: establishing an inversion matrix according to the depth domain depth difference and the residual curvature and the propagation path to obtain a model update amount combined with the weight mask, and using the model update amount to optimize the current velocity model to obtain an updated velocity model, thereby improving the stability of the velocity modeling iteration and accelerating the convergence speed of the iteration.
