The application discloses a preparation method and application method of a high-performance optical fiber coating modified by polymer grafted carbon nanotubes, and the preparation method comprises the following steps: pre-treating carbon nanotubes to obtain brominated carbon nanotubes; performing grafting treatment on the brominated carbon nanotubes through photocatalytic atom transfer radical polymerization to obtain polymer grafted functionalized carbon nanotubes; and mixing the polymer grafted functionalized carbon nanotubes with a prepolymer, an active diluent and a photoinitiator to obtain the required high-performance optical fiber coating. The carbon nanotubes are grafted with polyacrylate polymer chains on the surface, which can improve the dispersibility of the carbon nanotubes in the coating system, ensure the long-term stability and functional effectiveness of the carbon nanotubes in the coating, overcome the problems of poor compatibility and uneven dispersion of existing carbon-based composite coatings, improve the mechanical properties and thermal stability of the optical fiber coating, enhance the bonding strength between the coating and the optical fiber, and provide a new perspective for the preparation of high-performance optical fiber coatings.
