[0038] The present disclosure relates to a convertible female urination device 100, 1100, which includes: a urine collection shell 200, 1200 (or a main body 200, 1200), which defines a hollow space 210, 1210 and has at least one urine collection inlet 220, 1220 (or a first longitudinal end 220, 1220) leading into the hollow space and having an inlet height H1; and at least one sealing rim 300, 1300, which at least partially surrounds the urine collection inlet, wherein, considered along the inlet height H1, the sealing rim forms a first user-contact curved end portion 310, 1310 and a second user-contact curved end portion 320, 1320, thereby defining at least two possible usage configurations of the urination device 100, 1100.

[0039] The convertible female urination device 100, 1100 of the present disclosure is a non-invasive (or external) urination device, that is, it is configured to be worn externally by a female user around the user's urethra to collect urine discharged through the urethra. As used herein, the term "external" when used to describe the urination device 100, 1100 refers to a component suitable for use without inserting the component into the female urethra.

[0040] As described in detail below, preferred versions of the non-invasive female urination device 100, 1100 are typically made of plastic by an injection molding process. As a result, the device is lightweight, low cost, and easy to clean. As described in detail below, although certain parts of the device may be referred to separately, it is important to note that in possible embodiments, the entire device will be made in one piece for economic and quality reasons. It is also possible to envision a urination device that may be made of multiple parts that are fixed together (e.g., at least partially made of different materials).

[0041] Referring now to the drawings, and more particularly to the Figures 1 to 11, a first embodiment of a convertible female urinary device 100 (or a multi-configuration female urinary device 100) is shown. The urinary device 100 defines a longitudinal direction L and comprises a body 200 (or a substantially tubular wall 200, or a urine collecting housing 200) at least partially delimiting a hollow space 210 (or a bag receiving cavity 210) and having at least a first longitudinal end 220 (or a first longitudinal opening 220 or a urine collecting inlet 220) opening into the hollow space 210 and having a first height H1 or a first inlet height H1 and a first sealing rim 300 or a first rim 300 at least partially surrounding the first longitudinal end 220, wherein the first sealing rim 300, considered along the first height H1, forms a first relative user contact curved portion 310 and a second relative user contact curved portion 320, thereby defining at least two possible use configurations of the female urinary device 100. In other words, as described in detail below, the female urination device 100 is convertible at least when the device 100 is rotated about its longitudinal direction L so as to arrange the first user contact curved portion 310 or the second user contact curved portion 320 close to the surface supporting the urination device 100 and at least partially adjacent to the lower part of the user's genitals. In other words, in the first use configuration, the first relative user contact curved portion 310 and the second relative user contact curved portion 320 respectively form the rear end and the front end of the first sealing rim 300 according to the anatomical orientation of the urination device 100 when worn by the user. When worn by the user, the rear end is positioned at the rear of the user's urethral opening, while the front end is positioned at the front of the user's urethral opening. In the second use configuration, the second relative user contact curved portion 320 and the first relative user contact curved portion 310 respectively form the rear end and the front end of the first sealing rim 300.

[0042] As described in detail below, in a first embodiment of the urinary device 100, the body 200 or substantially tubular wall 200 further comprises a second longitudinal end 230 or second longitudinal opening 230 opening into the hollow space 210 opposite the first longitudinal end 220, wherein the urinary device 100 further comprises a second sealing rim 400 at least partially surrounding the second longitudinal end 230 to form a second user contact surface 402 longitudinally opposite to the first user contact surface 302 formed by the first sealing rim 300. In other words, the second sealing rim 400 defines other possible use configurations of the urinary device. In yet other words, the female urinary device 100 is configured in a manner such that the device is rotatable about an axis V ( Figure 1) is also convertible when rotating. As described in detail below, in a similar manner to the first sealing edge 300, the second sealing edge 400 forms a first relative user contact curved portion 410 and a second relative user contact curved portion 420 along the second height H2 of the second sealing edge 400, thereby defining at least two additional possible use configurations of the female urination device 100. Therefore, it can be understood that in the third use configuration, the first relative user contact curved portion 410 and the second relative user contact curved portion 420 respectively form the rear end and the front end of the second sealing edge 400, and in the fourth use configuration, the second relative user contact curved portion 420 and the first relative user contact curved portion 410 respectively form the rear end and the front end of the second sealing edge 400.

[0043] In other words, the convertible urinary device 100 according to the present disclosure can be configured into four different usage configurations.

[0044] As in Figure 4 and Figure 5 As best shown in FIG. 1 , the profile of the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400 , considered in a plane comprising the longitudinal direction and the first height H1 and the second height H2 , is substantially C-shaped.

[0045] main body

[0046] refer to Figure 2 and Figure 3 In the illustrated embodiment, the body 200 is substantially tubular in shape (i.e., at least partially formed by a substantially tubular wall that at least partially defines the hollow space 210). In the illustrated embodiment, the body 200 includes a first side wall 240 and a second side wall 242 that extend along the longitudinal direction L and along the axis V, are substantially parallel to each other and are spaced apart from each other. Each of the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 extends between the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230; the inner surfaces of the first opposing side wall 240 and the second opposing side wall 242 at least partially define the hollow space 210.

[0047] Considered along the longitudinal direction L, each of the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 includes a first opposite opening forming edge 241, 243 and a second opposite opening forming edge 245, 247 ( Figure 2 and Figure 3 ), first and second opposing mouth-forming edges 241, 243, 245, 247 at least partially form or define the first and second longitudinal ends 210, 230. As depicted, recesses are formed in the mouth-forming edges of the first and second side walls 240, 242 to better conform the first and second longitudinal ends to the morphology of the user.

[0048] Along the height H( Figure 4 ), each of the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 further comprises a first relative gripping edge 251, 253 and a second relative gripping edge 255, 257 extending along the longitudinal direction L of the urinary apparatus 100. When the urinary apparatus is supported on a horizontal surface, the height H is understood as the larger dimension of the vertical dimensions.

[0049] In the illustrated embodiment, two lateral holes (or gripping openings) 244, 246, 254, 256, for example, having substantially rectangular and oval shapes, are formed in each of the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 and open into the hollow space 210. The gripping openings are shaped and sized for at least partially inserting a user's hand therein to facilitate manipulation of the urinary device 100. In the illustrated embodiment, the lateral holes 244, 246 formed in the first side wall 240 are substantially aligned with the lateral holes 254, 256 formed in the second side wall 242. For example, as described in detail below, the lateral holes are shaped and sized to allow a bag to be introduced into and / or removed from the hollow space 210. The user may also use the lateral holes to adjust the position of the urinary device between their legs. In the illustrated embodiment, the perimeter of the gripping openings forms a convex portion that substantially follows the contour of the nearest edge of the corresponding side wall. In the embodiment shown, the periphery of the gripping opening forms a recess opposite the projection, which recess is directed towards the centre of the corresponding side wall when considered along the height of the urinary device.

[0050] Considered along the height H of the body 200, the body 200 further includes a first relative connecting portion 260 and a second relative connecting portion 270 extending between the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 and at least partially connecting the first gripping edges 251, 253 and the second gripping edges 255, 257 of the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 so as to at least partially connect the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242. The inner surfaces of the first connecting portion 260 and the second connecting portion 270 at least partially define the hollow space 210 of the body 200.

[0051] In the illustrated embodiment, each of the first connection portion 260 and the second connection portion 270 includes at least a first gripping portion 262, 264 and a second gripping portion 272, 274 that are spaced apart from each other and form the apex of the first connection portion and the second connection portion. The first gripping portion 262, 264 and the second gripping portion 272, 274 connect together portions (in the illustrated embodiment, longitudinal end portions thereof) of the corresponding first gripping edges 251, 253 and second gripping edges 255, 257 of the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242.

[0052] In the illustrated embodiment, the first gripping portions 262, 264 and the second gripping portions 272, 274 are respectively close to the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230. It can therefore be understood that the central portions of each of the first gripping edges 251, 253 and the second gripping edges 255, 257 of the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 are spaced apart from each other and disconnected from each other. In other words, as Figure 1 and Figure 2 As best shown in FIG. 1 , a bag introduction opening 265, 275 is formed in the first connecting portion 260 and the second connecting portion 270, which is at least partially defined by the first and second gripping edges of the first and second side walls 240, 242, considered along the width W1 of the urinary device 100, and which is defined by the corresponding first and second gripping portions 262, 264, 272, 274 of the first and second connecting portions 260, 270, when considered along the longitudinal direction L of the urinary device. In other words, the first and second gripping portions 262, 264, 272, 274 of the first and second connecting portions 260, 270 are spaced apart from each other and define (or at least partially delimit) therebetween a longitudinal bag introduction opening 265, 275 opening into the hollow space. In the illustrated embodiment, considered in a plane including the height H of the urinary device 100, the recesses in the first and second gripping edges 251, 253, 255, 257 of the first and second side walls 240, 242, the bag introduction openings 265, 275 are substantially aligned with each other and are oval in shape and form.

[0053] like Figure 4 and Figure 5 As best shown in the drawings, the first gripping portions 262, 264 and the second gripping portions 272, 274 of the first connecting portion 260 and the second connecting portion 270 form first and second protrusions pointing outward from the hollow space 210 of the main body 200, and the shapes and sizes of the first and second protrusions are designed to prevent urine from flowing back to the outside of the hollow cavity 210 when the user is sitting or lying.

[0054] As described above, recesses 261, 263, 271, 273 are formed in the gripping edges 251, 253, 255, 257 of the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 between the corresponding first gripping portions 262, 264 and second gripping portions 272, 274 of the first connecting portion 260 and the second connecting portion 270, and the corresponding first gripping portions 262, 264 and second gripping portions 272, 274 at least partially define the above-mentioned bag introduction openings 265, 275.

[0055] In the illustrated embodiment, the body 200 has a first plane of symmetry that is parallel to the height H and the longitudinal direction L of the body 200 and extends between the first side wall 240 and the second side wall 242 .

[0056] It should be understood that the shape and configuration of the main body 200 (or urine collection housing 200) (e.g., the shape and configuration of the first and second side walls and the first and second connecting portions thereof) and the shape, configuration and number of the gripping portion, the bag introduction opening and the lateral holes thereof may be different from the illustrated embodiment.

[0057] First sealing edge and second sealing edge (first embodiment)

[0058] In the first illustrated embodiment, the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400 are integrally formed with the tubular body 200 at the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230 thereof, respectively. In other words, the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400 extend outwardly and away from the first longitudinal end and the second longitudinal end of the urinary device 100, respectively; each of the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400 provides a surface area sufficient to form an adhesive bond with the skin of a user to hold the urinary device 100 in place. A urinary device is also contemplated in which the first sealing rim and the second sealing rim are to be assembled or mounted or connected to the tubular wall 200 or the body 200 after being separately manufactured, for example, from a material different from the material from which the body 200 is at least partially formed. In other words, each of the first user contact surface and the second user contact surface formed by the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400, respectively, forms an interface surface configured to adhere to the body of the user around the urethra opening of the user.

[0059] In other words, in the illustrated embodiment, the body 200 is bent in a sharp or circular manner (outward in the illustrated embodiment) at at least one of the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230 (at both of them in the illustrated embodiment) to form a first sealing edge 300 and a second sealing edge 400.

[0060] like Figure 6and Figure 7 As best shown in FIG. 1 , the cross-section of the tubular wall / body 200 (i.e., considered in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction L, such as between the first gripping portions 262, 272 of the first and second connecting portions 260, 270 (in one hand) and the second gripping portions 272, 274 of the first and second connecting portions 260, 270 (in the other hand)) is substantially elliptical. Furthermore, the cross-sections of the first and second longitudinal ends and the first and second sealing edges are substantially elliptical. As shown in FIG. Figure 4 , Figure 8 and Fig. 9 As best shown in FIG. 1 , both the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400 (e.g., the first user contact surface 302 and the second user contact surface 402 thereof) define a folded or curved ellipse. In other words, if the first user contact surface 302 and the second user contact surface 402 were flattened to a plane, they would both form an ellipse, such as Figure 8 and Fig. 9 Described in.

[0061] For example, Figure 8 , the ellipse formed by the flat first user contact surface 302 has a major axis a1 included between about 100 mm and about 200 mm (e.g., included between about 120 mm and about 180 mm, for example, included between about 140 mm and about 160 mm, for example, about 150 mm). The ellipse formed by the flat first user contact surface 302 has a minor axis b1 included between about 20 mm and about 80 mm (e.g., included between about 30 mm and about 70 mm, for example, included between about 40 mm and about 60 mm, for example, about 50 mm). For example, the ellipse formed by the flat first user contact surface 302 has an eccentricity greater than about 0.5 (e.g., greater than about 0.7, for example, greater than about 0.8, for example, greater than about 0.9, for example, greater than about 0.95). For example, an inner circumference of the flat first user contact surface 302 adjacent the first opening 220 is comprised between about 200 mm and about 600 mm, such as between about 300 mm and about 500 mm, such as between about 350 mm and about 450 mm, such as about 410 mm.

[0062] For example, Fig. 9, the ellipse formed by the flat second user contact surface 402 has a major axis a2 included between about 100 mm and about 220 mm (e.g., included between about 120 mm and about 200 mm, e.g., included between about 140 mm and about 180 mm, e.g., about 150 mm). The ellipse formed by the flat second user contact surface 400 has a minor axis b2 included between about 25 mm and about 85 mm (e.g., included between about 35 mm and about 75 mm, e.g., included between about 50 mm and about 60 mm, e.g., about 55 mm). For example, the ellipse formed by the flat second user contact surface 402 has an eccentricity greater than about 0.5 (e.g., greater than about 0.7, e.g., greater than about 0.8, e.g., greater than about 0.9, e.g., greater than about 0.95). For example, the inner circumference of the flat second user contact surface 402 adjacent to the second opening 230 is comprised between about 200 mm and about 600 mm, for example between about 300 mm and about 500 mm, for example between about 350 mm and about 450 mm, for example between about 400 mm and about 450 mm, for example about 430 mm.

[0063] In the illustrated embodiment, the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400 surround the entire periphery of the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230, respectively. In other words, the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400 are substantially annular and surround a corresponding one of the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230. In the illustrated embodiment, the first sealing rim and the second sealing rim are curved along the height and width of the corresponding one of the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230. In other words, in the illustrated embodiment, each of the first sealing rim and the second sealing rim includes a first end wall portion and a second end wall portion (at least partially forming a first relative user contact bend portion and a second relative user contact bend portion) and a first side wall and a second side wall that are spaced apart from each other and extend along the height of the corresponding one of the first longitudinal end and the second longitudinal end.

[0064] like Figure 4 and Figure 5 As best shown in FIG. 1 , the first relative user contact curved portion 310, 410 and the second relative user contact curved portion 320, 420 have different radii of curvature, considered in a plane including the longitudinal direction L and the height H1, H2 of a corresponding one of the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230. It is also conceivable to have a urination device in which only some of the user contact curved portions have different radii of curvature.

[0065] Each of the first user-contacting curved portion 310, 410 and the second user-contacting curved portion 320, 420 includes a tip 311, 321, 411, 421 (or a distal end or end wall portion) that defines a tip distance d1, d2, d3, d4 with a support contact surface S1, S2 defined by the nearest one of the first connecting portion 260 and the second connecting portion 270, as shown in FIG. Figure 4 and Figure 5 In other words, each of the first connection portion 260 and the second connection portion 270 defines a support contact surface S1, S2 connecting the distal end or vertex of a corresponding one of the first gripping portion 262, 264 and the second gripping portion 272, 274: the first support contact surface S1 connects the distal end of the first gripping portion 262 of the first connection portion 260 and the distal end of the second gripping portion 264, and the second support contact surface S2 connects the distal end of the first gripping portion 272 and the distal end of the second gripping portion 274 of the second connection portion. The end 311 of the first user contact curved portion 310 of the first sealing edge 300 and the end 411 of the first user contact curved portion 410 of the second sealing edge 400 are at distances d1, d3 ( Figure 4 ), and the end 321 of the second user contact curved portion 320 of the first sealing edge 300 and the end 421 of the second user contact curved portion 420 of the second sealing edge 400 are respectively at the distances d2 and d4 of the second support contact surface S2 ( Figure 5 ).

[0066] In the embodiment shown, the shape and size of the first sealing rim 300 are designed so that the end 311 of the first user contact end portion 310 is close to or slightly in contact with the first support contact surface S1 (i.e., the end distance d1 is substantially zero). In the embodiment shown, the end distances d1, d2, d3, d4 of the corresponding ends 311, 321, 411, 421 are different from each other. It is also conceivable to have a urination device in which only some of the end distances are different from each other.

[0067] The end distance of one of the first user contact curved portion and the second user contact curved portion of each of the first sealing edge 300 and the second sealing edge 400 is different from the end distance of the other of the first user contact curved portion and the second user contact curved portion of a corresponding one of the first sealing edge 300 and the second sealing edge 400. In other words, the end distances d1, d2 of the first sealing edge 300 are different from each other, and the end distances d3, d4 of the second sealing edge 400 are different from each other.

[0068] Furthermore, the end distance d1 between the end 311 of the first user contact portion 310 of the first sealing rim 300 and the first support contact surface S1 is different from the end distance d3 between the end 411 of the first user contact portion 410 of the second sealing rim 400 and the first support contact surface S1 (see Figure 4 The end distance d2 between the end 321 of the second user contact portion 320 of the first sealing edge 300 and the second support contact surface S2 is different from the end distance d4 between the end 421 of the second user contact portion 420 of the second sealing edge 400 and the second support contact surface S2 (see Figure 5 ).

[0069] For example, the end distance between the end of the first user contact portion of one of the first sealing edge and the end of one of the second user contact portions and the corresponding support contact surface S1S2 is greater than about 1% of the height H1, H2 of the corresponding one of the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230, for example, greater than about 3%, for example, greater than about 5%, for example, greater than about 10%.

[0070] like Figure 4 and Figure 5 As depicted in , in the illustrated embodiment, the end of one of the first user contact curved portion and the second user contact curved portion of each of the first sealing edge 300 and the second sealing edge 400 is longitudinally offset relative to the end of the other of the first user contact curved portion and the second user contact curved portion of the corresponding one of the first sealing edge 300 and the second sealing edge 400. In other words, considered along the longitudinal direction L, the end 311 of the first user contact curved portion 310 of the first sealing edge 300 is longitudinally offset relative to the end 321 of the second user contact curved portion 320 of the first sealing edge 300 (inwardly relative to the hollow space in the illustrated embodiment). Therefore, an end offset distance do1 is defined between the ends 311, 321. In addition, considered along the longitudinal direction L, the end 421 of the second user contact curved portion 420 of the second sealing edge 400 is longitudinally offset relative to the end 411 of the first user contact curved portion 410 of the second sealing edge 400 (inwardly relative to the hollow space in the illustrated embodiment). Thus, a tip offset distance do2 is defined between the tips 411, 421. For example, the tip offset distance do2 is less than the tip offset distance do1. For example, one of the tip offset distances is less than about 75%, such as less than about 50%, such as less than about 25%, such as less than about 10%, of the other of the tip offset distances.

[0071] like Fig.10As best shown in , the curvature of the first sealing rim 300 varies along the height of the first sealing rim 300 when projected onto the plane of symmetry of the urination device 10. For example, the slope of the first angle s1 is defined by the inner side of the first user contact curved portion 310 of the first sealing rim 300 (considered relative to the hollow space 210) and a direction perpendicular to the first support contact surface S1. For example, the first angle s1 is comprised between about 10 degrees and about 60 degrees, such as between about 20 degrees and about 50 degrees, such as between about 30 degrees and about 40 degrees, such as about 36 degrees. For example, the slope of the second angle s2 is defined by the inner side of the second user contact curved portion 320 of the first sealing rim 300 (considered relative to the hollow space 210) and a direction perpendicular to the first support contact surface S1. For example, the second angle s2 is included between about 40 degrees and about 100 degrees, for example between about 50 degrees and about 90 degrees, for example between about 60 degrees and about 80 degrees, for example between about 65 degrees and about 75 degrees, for example about 70 degrees.

[0072] For example, the vertex A1 of the curvature of the first sealing edge 300 (ie, where the slope is zero) is at a height hi that is less than half the height H1 of the first longitudinal end 220. For example, the height hi is less than about 45%, such as less than about 40%, of the height H1 of the first longitudinal end 220.

[0073] like Fig.11 As best shown in , the curvature of the second sealing rim 400 varies along the height of the second sealing rim 400 when projected onto the plane of symmetry of the urination device 10. For example, the slope of the first angle t1 is defined by the inner side of the first user contact curved portion 410 of the second sealing rim 400 (considered relative to the hollow space 210) and the direction perpendicular to the first support contact surface S1. For example, the first angle t1 is included between about 15 degrees and about 115 degrees, such as included between about 30 degrees and about 100 degrees, such as included between about 50 degrees and about 80 degrees, such as included between about 60 degrees and about 70 degrees, such as about 66 degrees. For example, the slope of the second angle t2 is defined by the inner side of the second user contact curved portion 420 of the second sealing rim 400 (considered relative to the hollow space 210) and the direction perpendicular to the first support contact surface v1. For example, the second angle t2 is included between about 40 degrees and about 100 degrees, for example between about 50 degrees and about 90 degrees, for example between about 60 degrees and about 80 degrees, for example between about 65 degrees and about 75 degrees, for example about 70 degrees.

[0074] For example, the vertex A2 of the curvature of the second sealing edge 400 (i.e., where the slope is zero) is at a height h2 that is less than half of the height H2 of the second longitudinal end 230. For example, the height h2 is less than about 50% of the height H2 of the second longitudinal end 230, such as less than about 47%, such as less than about 45%.

[0075] Considered along the longitudinal direction L, a length L1 of the urinary device 100 is defined between the most distal ends of the first sealing rim 300 and the most distal ends of the second sealing rim 400. In the illustrated embodiment, the length L1 is defined between the distal ends 321, 421 of the second user contact curved portions 320, 420 of the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400. For example, the distal offset distance between the distal end of the first user contact portion and the distal end of the second user contact portion of one of the first sealing rim and the second sealing rim is greater than about 1%, such as greater than about 3%, such as greater than about 5%, such as greater than about 10%, such as greater than about 25%, of the length L1 of the urinary device 100.

[0076] The length L1 of the urinary device 100 is comprised between about 10 cm and about 40 cm, for example comprised between about 20 cm and about 30 cm, for example comprised between about 23 cm and about 29 cm, for example about 26 cm.

[0077] The height H1 of the first longitudinal end 220 and the height H2 of the second longitudinal end 230 are comprised between about 5 cm and about 40 cm, for example between about 10 cm and about 25 cm, for example between about 15 cm and about 20 cm, for example about 19 cm. For example, the first height H1 and the second height H2 are substantially equal.

[0078] like Figure 6 As depicted in , the width W1 of the urination device 100 is comprised between about 2 cm and about 12 cm, for example between about 4 cm and about 10 cm, for example between about 6 cm and about 8 cm, for example between about 6 cm and about 7 cm, for example between about 6.2 cm and about 6.8 cm.

[0079] As described above, the first sealing edge 300 and the second sealing edge 400 define the first user contact surface 302 and the second user contact surface 402, which at least partially define the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230 leading into the hollow space 210. The first user contact surface 302 and the second user contact surface 402 extend locally transversely, for example, substantially perpendicular to the outer surface of the body 200 (perpendicular to the edge of the body 200 forming the periphery of a corresponding one of the first longitudinal end and the second longitudinal end).

[0080] like Figure 6 and Figure 7 As best shown in FIG. 1 , the first user contact surface and the second user contact surface have a substantially constant width wa, wb along substantially the entire circumference of a corresponding one of the first longitudinal end 220 and the second longitudinal end 230. For example, the width wa, wb of the first user contact surface 302 and the second user contact surface 402 is greater than about 1%, such as greater than about 5%, such as greater than about 10%, such as greater than about 15%, of the width W1 of the urinary device 100. For example, the width wa, wb is comprised between about 3 mm and about 20 mm, such as comprised between about 7 mm and about 16 mm, such as comprised between about 9 mm and about 14 mm, such as comprised between about 11 mm and about 12 mm, such as about 11.5 mm.

[0081] For example, the first sealing edge and the second sealing edge are at least partially formed of a material having softness and elastic properties to ensure comfort of use and substantially fluid-tight contact with the user. For example, the first sealing edge and the second sealing edge are at least partially formed of a material that is more flexible and elastic than the material that at least partially forms the body.

[0082] It should therefore be understood that the urination device 100 is bent outward at the first end 220 and the second end 230 of the body 200 to form the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400. Various designs may be applied to the first sealing rim and the second sealing rim to increase comfort when contacted or applied near the user's genitals.

[0083] It should be understood that the shape and configuration of the first sealing rim 300 and the second sealing rim 400 (e.g., the radius of curvature, shape, configuration, and relative position of the first and second user-contacting curved portions thereof) may be different from the illustrated embodiment. It should also be understood that the shape and configuration of the convertible female urinary device is not limited to Figures 1 to 11 , wherein the first sealing rim and the second sealing rim at least partially surround the first longitudinal end and the second longitudinal end of the urine collecting housing 200, respectively.

[0084] Single sealing edge (second embodiment)

[0085] Reference now Figures 12 to 17, these show a second possible embodiment of a convertible female urination device 1100. In a manner similar to the first embodiment, the urination device 1100 comprises a urine collecting housing 1200 defining a hollow space 1210 and having at least one urine collecting inlet 1220 opening into the hollow space 1210 and having an inlet height H1. The urination device 1100 further comprises a sealing rim 1300 at least partially surrounding the urine collecting inlet 1220 and forming a user contact surface 1302, wherein, considered along the inlet height H1, the sealing rim 1300 forms a first relatively user contact curved end portion 1310 and a second relatively user contact curved end portion 1320, thereby defining at least two possible use configurations of the urination device.

[0086] The second embodiment differs from the first embodiment mainly in that the urination device 1100 comprises a single sealing rim 1300 located at one of the first longitudinal end 1221 and the second longitudinal end 1231 of the body 1200 .

[0087] It will be appreciated that although various features have been described in the context of the first embodiment of the urinary apparatus 100, these features may also be provided to the second embodiment of the urinary apparatus 1100, and vice versa.

[0088] In the illustrated embodiment, the urine collection inlet 1220 is formed at one of the first longitudinal end 1221 and the second longitudinal end 1231 of the urine collection housing 1200 .

[0089] The sealing rim 1300 (or a single sealing rim 1300 in the illustrated embodiment) surrounds substantially the entire periphery of the urine collection inlet 1220 and includes a first end wall portion and a second end wall portion, which form a first opposing user contact curved end portion 1310 and a second opposing user contact curved end portion 1320, respectively, and a first opposing side wall and a second opposing side wall, which are spaced apart from each other and extend along the inlet height H1 and connect the first curved end portion 1310 and the second curved end portion 1320. In the illustrated embodiment, continuity is formed by the first end wall portion and the second end wall portion and the first opposing side wall and the second opposing side wall.

[0090] For example, the inlet height H1 of the opening or urine collection inlet 1220 (eg Fig.17 ) is included between about 100 mm and about 220 mm, for example included between about 120 mm and about 200 mm, for example included between about 140 mm and about 180 mm, for example about 160 mm.

[0091] For example, the opening or inlet width W1 of the urine collection inlet 1220 (eg Fig.17 ) included between about 30 mm and about 60 mm, for example included between about 35 mm and about 55 mm, for example included between about 40 mm and about 50 mm, for example about 44 mm.

[0092] In the illustrated embodiment, the length of the perimeter of the opening or urine collection inlet 1220 is comprised between about 200 mm and about 600 mm, such as comprised between about 300 mm and about 500 mm, such as comprised between about 400 mm and about 450 mm, such as about 420 mm.

[0093] like Fig.15 As best shown in FIG. 1 , the first user contact curved portion 1310 and the second user contact curved portion 1320 have first and second radii of curvature that are different from each other, considered in a plane including the longitudinal direction L and the entrance height H1 of the body 1200. In other words, when projected onto a symmetry plane of the urination device 1100, which plane includes the longitudinal direction L and the entrance height H1 of the body 1200, the curvature of the sealing rim 1300 varies along the height H1 of the sealing rim 1300.

[0094] like Fig.15 As depicted in , the sealing edge 1300 defines an opening angle α1 of the urine collection inlet 1220. For example, the origin O1 of the opening angle α1 is located at half the height of the inlet height H1. The opening angle α1 is defined between a first line extending from the origin O1 toward the end 1311 of the first user contact curved end portion 1310 and a second line extending from the origin O1 toward the end 1321 of the second user contact curved end portion 1320. For example, the opening angle α1 is included between about 80 degrees and about 180 degrees, for example, included between about 100 degrees and about 160 degrees, for example, included between about 120 degrees and about 140 degrees, for example, about 130 degrees.

[0095] In a manner similar to the first embodiment, the end 1311 of the first user contact curved portion 1310 and the end 1321 of the second user contact curved portion 1320 of the first sealing edge 1300 are longitudinally offset relative to each other by an end offset distance do1 ( Fig.15 ).

[0096] In the second embodiment, in contrast to the first embodiment, no sealing edge is provided at the second longitudinal end of the main body 1200, and thus the urination device 1100 according to the second embodiment can be configured only into a first usage configuration and a second usage configuration: in the first usage configuration, the first user-relative contact curved portion 1310 and the second user-relative contact curved portion 1320 respectively form the rear end and the front end of the sealing edge 1300 according to the anatomical orientation of the urination device 100 when worn by the user, and in the second usage configuration, the second user-relative contact curved portion 1320 and the first user-relative contact curved portion 1310 respectively form the rear end and the front end of the sealing edge 1300.

[0097] In the second embodiment, if Fig.14 As best shown in FIG. 1 , a bag introduction opening 1232 leading into the hollow space 1210 is formed at the second longitudinal end 1231 of the body 1200. For example, when the urination device 1100 is used, the second longitudinal end 1231 of the body 1200 forms an operating portion whose shape and size are designed to increase the contact of the sealing edge 1300 with the user.

[0098] In the illustrated embodiment, considered along the height of the body 1200 , the first end portion and the second end portion of the second longitudinal end 1231 of the body 1200 are substantially rounded or curved.

[0099] In a manner similar to the first embodiment, the urine collection housing or body 1200 includes a first side wall 1240 and a second side wall 1242 spaced apart from each other and a first connection portion 1260 and a second connection portion 1270 extending at least partially between the first side wall 1240 and the second side wall 1242. At least one gripping opening is formed in at least one of the first side wall and the second side wall. For example, gripping openings substantially aligned with each other are formed in the first side wall and the second side wall. For example, in the illustrated embodiment, the first gripping opening and the second gripping opening are formed in each of the first side wall 1240 and the second side wall 1242. For example, the periphery of the gripping opening forms a convex portion substantially following the contour of the nearest edge of the corresponding side wall.

[0100] like Fig.16 As best shown in FIG. 1 , the first side wall 1240 and the second side wall 1242 form a first recess and a second recess that face each other and at least partially form or define a hollow space.

[0101] In the illustrated embodiment, each of the first connection portion 1260 and the second connection portion 1270 includes at least one gripping portion. For example, each of the first connection portion and the second connection portion includes a first gripping portion and a second gripping portion that are spaced apart from each other and form a vertex of a corresponding one of the first connection portion and the second connection portion. For example, a recess is formed in the gripping edge of the first side wall 1240 and the second side wall 1242 between the first gripping portion and the second gripping portion of the corresponding one of the first connection portion and the second connection portion.

[0102] In the illustrated embodiment, the tip 1321 of one of the user contact curved end portions extends beyond the apex formed by the first gripping portion and the second gripping portion of a corresponding one of the first connection portion 1260 and the second connection portion 1270. In other words, when the urination device 1100 is supported on a support contact surface and the second user contact end portion 1320 is closer to the support contact surface than the first user contact end portion 1310, the tip 1321 of the user contact end portion 1320 contacts the support contact surface.

[0103] It should be understood that the shape and configuration of the second embodiment of the urination device (eg the shape and configuration of the side walls, the sealing rim, the urine collecting body and the first and second connecting parts) may be different from the illustrated embodiment.

[0104] Convertible female urination assembly

[0105] The present disclosure also relates to a convertible female urination assembly, which includes a convertible female urination device 100, 1100 according to the present disclosure and a disposable bag that can be loaded into the hollow space and can be fixed to the main body. The urination device 100, 1100 is actually designed to be used with a disposable sanitary bag, which is shaped to fit the specific design of the urination device 100, 1100 and is removably fixed to the urination device 100, 1100. Typically, the main body portion of the sanitary bag is inserted into the hollow space 210, 1210 of the main body 200, 1200 (or urine collection housing 200, 1200), for example, via one of the lateral holes or via one of the bag introduction openings. The open end of the disposable sanitary bag is then fixed to the main body while at least partially covering one of the first sealing edge 300, 1300 and the second sealing edge 400, 1300 according to the configuration selected by the user. If the bag includes a closure string slidably mounted to its opening, the closure string can be used to tie the opening of the bag at the junction of the corresponding one of the first sealing edge and the second sealing edge with the main body 200, 1200. Alternatively, the bag can include an elastic band that secures the bag to the main body of the urinary device 100, 1100 by applying pressure to the outer surface of the main body 200, 1200 near the corresponding one of the first longitudinal end 220, 1221 and the second longitudinal end 230, 1231.

[0106] The sanitary bag may also include a layer of absorbent material that captures liquids, such as gels. The layer of absorbent material retains the liquid substantially instantaneously to facilitate operation of the urinary assembly. The layer of absorbent material may be a separate component from the bag, or it may be provided as a single piece.

[0107] It should therefore be appreciated that the female urinary device 100 can be used while the user is sitting or lying down and can be shaped and sized to conform to substantially any number of configurations.

[0108] As described above, the shape and size of the first user contact surface 302 and the second user contact surface 402, 1302 formed by the first sealing rim 300, 1300 and the second sealing rim 400, 1300 are designed to contact the user, and more particularly the area around their genitals. Due to the specific shape and size of the first sealing rim 300, 1300 and the second sealing rim 400, 1300 and the specific shape, size and relative arrangement of the first user contact curved portion and the second user contact curved portion of the first sealing rim 300, 1300 and the second sealing rim 400, 1300, the urination device 100, 1100 is thus adapted to different morphologies.

[0109] It should be understood that by grasping any of the first and second gripping portions of the first and second connecting portions, the position of the urinary device 100, 1100 between the legs of the user can be easily adjusted to better adjust the position of one of the first sealing edge and the second sealing edge. As described above, the urinary device 100, 1100 can therefore be configured in different configurations. As described in detail above, the first embodiment of the urinary device 100 can be configured in four use configurations: a first configuration in which the first connecting portion 260 is supported on a support surface and the first sealing edge 300 is in contact with or close to the user's genitals ( Figure 4 In the second configuration, the first user contacting curved portion 310 of the first sealing edge 300 abuts against the lower portion of the user's genitals; in the second configuration, the first connecting portion 260 is supported on a supporting surface and the second sealing edge 400 contacts or approaches the user's genitals ( Figure 4 The first user contact curved portion 410 of the second sealing edge 400 is adjacent to the lower portion of the user's genitals; a third configuration in which the second connecting portion 270 is supported on a supporting surface and the first sealing edge 300 is in contact with or close to the user's genitals ( Figure 5 The second user contact curved portion 320 of the first sealing edge 300 is adjacent to the lower portion of the user's genitals; and a fourth configuration in which the second connecting portion 270 is supported on a support surface and the second sealing edge 400 is in contact with or close to the user's genitals ( Figure 5 As shown by arrow C4 in FIG. 4 , the second user contacting curved portion 420 of the second sealing rim 400 abuts against the lower portion of the user's genitals. As described in detail above, the second embodiment of the urination device 1100 including a single sealing rim can be configured into two different usage configurations.

[0110] It should also be understood that the shape and size of the female urinary device 100, 1100 is designed to support a substantially full bag disposed in the hollow space 210, 1210 and is easy to clean. For example, the urinary device is at least partially made of flexible and resilient plastic, rubber, or any suitable material that can be easily cleaned and / or provides a substantially smooth surface to increase comfort of use.
