[0033] The specific embodiments set forth below are intended to be descriptions of various configurations of the subject technology, and are not intended to represent the only configuration in which the subject technology can be practiced. The accompanying drawings are incorporated herein and constitute a part of the specific embodiments. The specific embodiments include specific details in order to provide a thorough understanding of the subject technology. However, it will be clear and understood by those skilled in the art that the subject technology is not limited to the specific details set forth herein and can be practiced without these specific details. In some instances, well-known structures and components are shown in block diagram form to avoid confusion with the concepts of the subject technology.

[0034] The subject technology relates to a seat assembly in which one or more seat cushions are displaceable. In one or more specific implementations, the seat cushions are displaceable to provide space for a child seat. For example, the seat assembly may include a platform (previously covered by the seat cushion) that provides a flat or substantially flat surface for the child seat. Advantageously, the displaced seat cushion provides additional clearance between the child seat and the door frame of the vehicle, thereby increasing the convenience of placing the child in the child seat. Additionally, the seat assembly may include an additional seat belt receiving portion. In this regard, a seat belt (e.g., a stand-alone seat belt) designed to pass through a designated opening of a child seat may be provided on the seat assembly. After adjustment, the seat belt may remain in the child seat.

[0035] According to one or more specific implementations, for example Figure 1 As shown, an exemplary implementation of the movable device takes the form of a vehicle 100. In one or more implementations, the vehicle 100 is a sport utility vehicle (SUV). Figure 1 In the example shown, the vehicle 100 is a truck. In general, the vehicle 100 may take the form of any motor vehicle, including motor vehicles having an internal combustion engine and / or one or more electric motors. In this regard, other specific implementations of the vehicle 100 may include land-based vehicles, such as, by way of non-limiting example, a sedan (e.g., a sedan, a hatchback), a van, or a commercial truck.

[0036] As shown, the vehicle 100 includes a battery pack 102. The battery pack 102 can be coupled (e.g., electrically coupled) to one or more power systems of the vehicle 100 to provide power to the one or more power systems. The vehicle 100 may also include a port 104 (e.g., a charging port) that is designed to receive a cable connector (e.g., a charging port) for delivering power (e.g., AC power). Figure 1 ), which is converted into DC power to charge the battery pack 102. As a non-limiting example, the vehicle 100 may include a chassis 108 for supporting the battery pack 102 and various other components of the vehicle 100 ( Figure 1 not shown), such as suspension and differential.

[0037] The battery pack 102 may be coupled to a drive unit 110, which may represent one or more drive units. The drive unit 110 may include, for example, a motor, an inverter, a gearbox, and a differential. In one or more implementations, the drive unit 110 is an internal combustion engine. Figure 1 In the example shown, the drive unit 110 is an electric motor. In this regard, the drive unit 110 can use the energy (eg, electrical energy) stored in the battery pack 102 for propulsion in order to drive (eg, rotationally drive) the wheels of the vehicle 100.

[0038] Additionally, the vehicle 100 may include several seat assemblies. For example, the vehicle 100 includes a seat assembly 116a and a seat assembly 116b. As a non-limiting example, the seat assembly 116a and the seat assembly 116b may be referred to as a front seat assembly and a rear seat assembly, respectively. In addition, each of the seat assemblies 116a and 116b may include a seat in the form of a bucket seat. Alternatively, as a non-limiting example, the seat assembly 116b may be in the form of a bench seat or one or more captain's chairs. In addition, when the vehicle 100 is in the form of an SUV, the vehicle 100 may include a three-row seat assembly with an additional seat assembly behind the seat assembly 116b.

[0039] Reference Figure 2 , the interior of the vehicle 100 depicts a seat assembly 116b. As shown, the seat assembly 116b includes a seat 120a and a seat 120b. Each of the seats 120a and 120b is designed to accommodate passengers in the vehicle 100. In addition, as a non-limiting example, the seat 120a and the seat 120b may be referred to as a rear passenger side seat and a rear driver side seat. Although the seat assembly 116b includes two seats, the number of seats may vary. For example, the seat assembly 116b may include at least three seats.

[0040] In addition, each of the seats 120a and 120b may include one or more seat features. For example, the seat 120a includes a seat back 122a and a seat cushion 124a, and the seat 120b includes a seat back 122b and a seat cushion 124b. Each of the seat backs 122a and 122b may be referred to as a backrest. In one or more specific implementations, at least one of the seat cushion 124a or the seat cushion 124b is designed to be a displaceable seat cushion (e.g., a removable seat cushion) that moves relative to the seat back 122a or the seat back 122b, respectively. The example of the displaceable seat cushion will be further shown and described below. In addition, each of the seats 120a and 120b includes a seat belt receiving portion 126a and a seat belt receiving portion 126b, respectively. In one or more specific implementations, the seat belt receiving portions 126a and 126b are designed to fix the corresponding seat belts in the vehicle 100. For example, the seat belt receiving portion 126b is designed to secure the seat belt 127, in particular, a buckle of the seat belt 127. Although not shown, an additional seat belt may be secured to the seat belt receiving portion 126a.

[0041] Reference Figure 3 , the seat cushion 124a of the seat 120a is displaced. As shown, the seat cushion 124a moves relative to the seat back 124a. When the seat cushion 124a is displaced, the platform 128 of the seat 120a is exposed. The platform 128 may include a surface 129 (e.g., an upper surface) that is in the form of a planar (e.g., flat) or substantially planar surface. In one or more specific implementations, the platform 128 provides a child seat ( Figure 2 120a and 120b). In addition, platform 128 may include a modular platform and be separate from the platform of seat 120b. Alternatively, platform 128 may represent a support platform for both seats 120a and 120b. In one or more specific implementations, pad 130 includes a liquid-resistant material (or multiple materials), such as rubber or other polymer-based compounds. In addition, pad 130 may be positioned on surface 129 of platform 128. When a child seat is placed on platform 128 at surface 129, pad 130 may be positioned between the child seat and platform 128. Beneficially, in the event that a child sitting in the child seat drops items such as food or liquids, pad 130 may catch and / or block these items.

[0042] Additionally, the seat 120a may include a recess 132 (e.g., a compartment) formed in the platform 128. In one or more specific implementations, the recess 132 provides space or volume for the seat belt receiving portion 126c. In this regard, the seat belt receiving portion 126c may be accommodated in the recess 132 and covered by the seat cushion 124a before the seat cushion 124a is displaced. However, as shown, when the seat cushion 124a is displaced, the seat belt receiving portion 126c may extend from the recess 132. It should be noted that the seat belt receiving portion 126c, when located in the recess 132, may be fixed in the recess 132 based on the industry standard for fixing the seat belt receiving portion to the seat.

[0043] Reference Figure 4 , the child seat 134 is positioned on the platform 128 (as shown in phantom). In addition, a supplemental seat belt 136 (as shown in phantom) may be provided on the seat assembly 116b, and in particular, on the seat 120a. The supplemental seat belt 136 may extend through the opening ( Figure 4 126a (shown in phantom) and can be buckled to the seat belt receiving portion 126a (shown in phantom) and the seat belt receiving portion 126c. Thus, the seat belt receiving portions 126a and 126c provide respective connection points for the supplemental seat belt 136, wherein the seat belt receiving portion 126c can be used in a child seat application and otherwise stowed when not in use.

[0044] Reference Figure 5 The supplementary seat belt 136 includes a buckle 138a and a buckle 138b. The buckle 138a and the buckle 138b are designed to cooperate with the seat belt receiving portion 126a and the seat belt receiving portion 126c, respectively. Figure 4 In addition, the buckles 138a and 138b may include a seat belt (e.g., Figure 4 The seat belt buckle 127 of the vehicle 100 shown in FIG. 1 is of the same design and size shape. Therefore, the seat belt receiving portions 126a and 126c (such as Figure 4 The belt buckle 138a and 138b are not only applicable to conventional seat belts, but also to supplementary seat belts 136 designed for child seats. In addition, due to the same design and size shape, each of the buckles 138a and 138b can be reversed and fixed by the seat belt receiving portion 126c and the seat belt receiving portion 126a, respectively, so that the supplementary seat belt 136 becomes an omnidirectional seat belt.

[0045] Additionally, the supplemental seat belt 136 includes a dimension 140 (e.g., an end-to-end length). However, the dimension 140 may be adjustable, thereby allowing the supplemental seat belt 136 to be universal, for example, for use with various child seat manufacturers and various types of child seats (e.g., infant child seats, toddler child seats). In this regard, once the dimension 140 is adjusted to fit within the child seat (e.g., such as Figure 4 If the supplemental seat belt 136 is provided in the child seat 134 and secured to the seat belt receiving portions 126a and 126c, the supplemental seat belt 136 may remain within the child seat after the size 140 of the supplemental seat belt 136 is adjusted.

[0046] Figures 6 to 8 An exemplary displacement of a seat cushion of a seat assembly is provided. Figures 6 to 8 The exemplary features shown and described in the accompanying drawings may be applied to any other seat assemblies shown and described herein.

[0047] Reference Figure 6 , the seat assembly 216 may include a seat 220 having a seat back 222 and a seat cushion 224. The seat 220 may be a rear driver's side seat ( Figure 6 220 may be in the form of a middle seat of a vehicle. When the seat assembly 216 includes, for example, three seats, the seat 220 may be in the form of a middle seat of a vehicle. The seat 220 may include a platform 228. The seat assembly 216 including the seat 220 may be fixed to the vehicle ( ) by bolting the platform 228 to the seat base 244 using bolts (shown, not labeled). Figure 6 244). In one or more embodiments, as a non-limiting example, the seat base 244 is part of the vehicle (e.g., part of the floor of the vehicle). However, other ways of securing the seat 220 are also possible. For example, in one or more embodiments, the platform 228 includes one or more hooks (instead of or in addition to the bolts), which are designed to hook to a rod located in the seat base 244. Using the bolts and / or hooks, the platform 228 of the seat assembly 216 can be removably connected to the seat base 244. Based on the several ways of securing the seat assembly 216, the seat assembly 216 can be integrated with the vehicle, such as when the vehicle is purchased by an end user (e.g., a consumer). Alternatively, the seat assembly 216 can take the form of a stand-alone seat assembly that is suitable for or can be integrated with a variety of vehicles.

[0048] The seat 220 may also include a seat belt receiver 226 positioned in a recess 232 formed in the platform 228. Figure 624, which covers the seat belt receiving portion 226 and the platform 228. However, the seat cushion 224 is displaceable. For example, as shown in the enlarged view 242a, the platform 228 may include a guide rail 246 and a slide 248. The slide 248 may be coupled to the seat cushion 224 and can move along the guide rail 246 with the seat cushion 224. In addition, the slide 248 may include a hinge 249 that allows additional movement of the seat cushion 224. This will be shown below.

[0049] As shown in the enlarged view 242b, the platform 228 may also include a seat lock 250. The seat lock 250 can fix the seat cushion 224, thereby preventing the seat cushion 224 from undesirable movement. The seat 220 may also include a button 252, which responds to actuation (e.g., in response to being pressed) and releases the seat lock 250 from the seat cushion 224, thereby allowing the seat cushion 224 to shift. As shown, the button 252 is located on the armrest 254 of the seat 220. However, other positions (e.g., the internal frame or surface of the vehicle) are also possible.

[0050] Reference Figure 7 , the seat cushion 224 of the seat 220 is displaced relative to the seat back 222 (for example) in the direction indicated by arrow 256. Arrow 256 represents a linear or substantially linear displacement of the seat cushion 224. At this point, the seat cushion 224 can be moved laterally relative to the seat back 222. As shown in the enlarged view 242a, the slide 248 moves along the guide rail 246, thereby allowing the seat cushion 224 to be displaced. In addition, as shown in the enlarged view 242b, the seat lock 250 releases the seat cushion 224, and the release of the seat lock 250 is based on pressing the button 252. When the seat lock 250 releases the seat cushion 224, the seat cushion 224 can be displaced (for example, manually displaced) in the direction of arrow 256. Although not shown, the platform 228 may include a spring or other biasing mechanism that causes the seat cushion 224 to be displaced when the button 252 is pressed.

[0051] Reference Figure 8 , the seat cushion 224 of the seat 220 is further displaced relative to the seat back 222 (for example) in the direction indicated by arrow 258. Arrow 258 represents the angular displacement (e.g., rotational movement) of the seat cushion 224. As a result, the platform 228 is not covered by the seat cushion 224 and is exposed, thereby exposing and allowing access to the child seat ( Figure 8224 is angularly displaced, the hinge 249 (shown in an enlarged view) of the slide 248 moves and allows the seat cushion 224 to rotate. At this point, the angle 260 between the seat cushion 224 and the platform 228 (e.g., the upper surface of the platform 228) can be approximately in the range of 75 degrees to 110 degrees. In one or more embodiments, the angle 260 is 90 degrees or approximately 90 degrees. Therefore, the seat cushion 224 can be designed to be displaced in a linear manner and then in an angular (e.g., non-linear) manner.

[0052] Based on the position of the seat cushion 224, the seat belt receiving portion 226 is also exposed, thereby allowing access to the seat belt receiving portion 226, which extends from the recess 232 to receive the seat belt ( Figure 8 Additionally, although not explicitly shown, the platform 228 may receive a pad on the surface 229.

[0053] Reference Fig. 9 , the seat assembly 316 may include a seat 320 having a seat back 322 and a seat cushion 324. The seat 320 also includes a platform 328. The seat 320 may also include a motor 364 located in the platform 328. In one or more specific implementations, the motor 364 is an electric motor. The seat 320 may also include a button 352 located on the armrest 354. When the button 352 is pressed, the motor 364 can provide a mechanical force to displace the seat cushion 324. For example, the motor 364 can cause the seat cushion 224 to move in a manner similar to that shown for the seat cushion 324 (e.g., respectively, at Figure 7 and Figure 8 Linear and angular motion shown in FIG.

[0054] Reference Fig.10 , the interior view of vehicle 400 shows a display 465 of vehicle 400. In one or more specific implementations, display 465 includes a touch display (e.g., a capacitive touch display) capable of receiving user input or gestures. As shown, display 465 may provide virtual buttons and options (e.g., "child seat mode") to enable the seat cushion ( Fig.10 Thus, at least some of the vehicles described herein may be equipped with a display that functions as a button (e.g., Fig. 9 An additional or alternative solution is provided to the button 352 shown.

[0055] Reference Fig.11, a block diagram of a vehicle 500 is shown. The vehicle 500 may include one or more processors 566. As a non-limiting example, the one or more processors 566 may include processing circuits, such as a central processing unit (CPU), a graphics processing unit (GPU), one or more microcontrollers, an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), or a combination thereof. The vehicle 500 may also include a memory 568 that stores instructions and / or codes, each of which is executable by the one or more processors 566. The memory 568 may include a read-only memory (ROM) and / or a random access memory (RAM). The vehicle 500 may also include one or more input-output devices 570. For example, as a non-limiting example, the input-output device 570 may include a button or a touch input display. The vehicle 500 may also include a motorized system 572. As a non-limiting example, the motorized system 572 may include a motor (e.g., Fig. 9 The motor 364 shown), an actuator, or a combination thereof.

[0056] In one or more implementations, an input to one of the one or more input-output devices 570 results in a corresponding input to the one or more processors 566. The one or more processors 566 can execute instructions or code stored on the memory 568 and provide instructions that cause the motorized system 572 to operate in a manner similar to the seat cushion 224 ( Figure 7 and Figure 8 The seat cushion is shifted in a manner shown in FIG.

[0057] Figure 12 to Figure 14 An alternative implementation of a seat assembly is shown and described. Figure 12 to Figure 14 The seat assembly shown and described in the drawings may include at least some of the features described herein for a seat assembly.

[0058] Reference Fig.12 , the seat 616 may include a seat 620 having a seat back 622 and a seat cushion 624. In addition, the seat 620 may include a platform 628. As shown, the platform 628 may include a track 674. The seat 620 may include one or more wheels 676 coupled to the seat cushion 624. The one or more wheels 676 are designed to move (e.g., roll) along the track 674, thereby allowing the seat cushion 624 to shift. For example, based on the movement of the one or more wheels 676 through the track 674, the seat cushion 624 may be similar to the seat cushion 224 ( Figure 7 and Figure 8 In this regard, the seat 620 may include a button 652 that releases the seat lock ( Fig.12 ) and allows the seat cushion 624 to be shifted to expose the upper surface of the platform 628 for the child seat.

[0059] Reference Fig.13 and Fig.14 , the seat assembly 716 may include a seat 720 having a seat back 722 and a seat cushion 724. In addition, the seat 720 may include a platform 728, wherein the platform 728 has a hinge 778. Based on the movement of the hinge 778, the seat cushion 724 may be similar to the seat cushion 224 ( Figure 8 ) is shifted in a rotational manner (e.g., as shown in Fig.14 Thus, the seat cushion 724 can generally move in one direction (eg, the rotational direction) to reduce the overall movement of the seat cushion 724. In addition, the seat 720 may include a button 752 that releases the seat lock ( Fig.13 and Fig.14 ) and allows the seat cushion 724 to be shifted to expose the upper surface of the platform 728 for the child seat.

[0060] Reference Fig.15 , the vehicle 800 may include a seat 820 (a part of a seat assembly) having a seat back 822 and a seat cushion 824. The seat 820 may also include a platform 828. As shown, the seat cushion 824 is displaced, and a child seat 834 is fixed to the seat 820 at the platform 828 by passing through the child seat 834 and being fixed to a seat belt 836 of a seat belt receiving portion 826. The seat belt receiving portion 826 may represent an additional seat belt receiving portion (not shown) connected to the seat belt 836. In addition, a cushion 830 is located on the upper surface of the platform 828 and is positioned between the child seat 834 and the platform 828. The vehicle 800 may also include a door frame 880. For illustrative purposes, the doors are not shown.

[0061] In addition, the child 882 is positioned in the child seat 834. As shown, the dimension 884a between the head of the child 882 and the door frame 880 represents the gap or space between the head of the child 882 and the door frame 880. Based on the displacement of the seat cushion 824, as shown in FIG. Fig.15As shown, the child seat 834 can be positioned on the platform 828 (with the cushion 830 between). In contrast, dimension 884b represents the gap between the head of the child 882 and the door frame 880 when the seat cushion 824 is not displaceable and the child seat 834 is positioned on the seat cushion 824 (horizontally positioned). As can be observed, dimension 884a is greater than dimension 884b. Therefore, based on the displaced seat cushion 824, dimension 884a effectively reduces the position of the child seat 834 (e.g., along the Z axis of the Cartesian coordinates), thereby reducing the position of the child 882 (including the head of the child 882), and increasing the gap compared to a traditional seat with an immovable seat cushion. Beneficially, the seat cushion 824, when displaced, can enhance the convenience of placing the child 882 in the vehicle 800 (e.g., in the child seat 834) and removing the child 882 from the vehicle 800.

[0062] Some previous examples of child seats include toddler seats. Fig.16 , vehicle 900 may include a seat 920 (a part of a seat assembly) having a seat back 922 and a seat cushion 924. Seat 920 may also include a platform 928. As shown, the seat cushion 924 is displaced, and a child seat 934 is fixed to the seat 920 at the platform 928 by passing through the child seat 934 and being fixed to a seat belt 936 of a seat belt receiving portion 926. The seat belt receiving portion 926 may represent an additional seat belt receiving portion (not shown) connected to the seat belt 936. In one or more specific implementations, the child seat 934 is an infant seat. Therefore, the seat 920 (in this regard, it represents other seats shown and described herein) may also accommodate an infant seat.

[0063] Reference Fig.17, the seat assembly 1016 may include a seat 1020 having a seat back 1022 and a seat cushion 1024, wherein the seat cushion 1024 is capable of being displaced and moved relative to the seat back 1022. As shown, a child seat 1034 is positioned on a platform 1028 of the seat 1020. The seat assembly 1016 may also include a seat belt receiving portion 1026a, a seat belt receiving portion 1026b, and a seat belt receiving portion 1026c, some of which may be a part of the seat 1020. Additionally, a seat belt 1036 may pass through the child seat 1034, wherein respective ends of the seat belt 1036 are fixed to the seat belt receiving portions 1026a and 1026b. In addition, the seat 1020 may include a seat belt 1086 (e.g., a shoulder belt or shoulder belt) passing through the child seat 1034 and including an end fixed to the seat belt receiving portion 1026c. Thus, seat assembly 1016, which may be representative of at least some seat assemblies described herein, may include a seat (e.g., seat 1020) having three seat belt receiving portions. Additionally, in one or more implementations, platform 1028 may include recesses 1032a and 1032b, with seat belt receiving portions 1026a and 1026b located in recesses 1032a and 1032b, respectively.

[0064] As used herein, the phrase "at least one" preceding a series of items, together with the terms "and" or "or" used to separate any items, modifies the entire list, rather than each member of the list (i.e., each item). By way of example, the phrases "at least one of A, B, and C" or "at least one of A, B, or C" each refer to only A, only B, or only C; any combination of A, B, and C; and / or at least one of each of A, B, and C.

[0065] When an element is referred to herein as being "connected" or "coupled" to another element, it should be understood that the element may be directly connected to the other element, or there may be intervening elements between the elements. Conversely, when an element is referred to as being "directly connected" or "directly coupled" to another element, it should be understood that there are no intervening elements in the "direct" connection between the elements. However, the presence of a direct connection does not exclude other connections that may have intervening elements.
