[0008] [Description of Embodiments of the Present Disclosure] First, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described below. [1] The connector disclosed in the present invention comprises: a shell; a detection member having a press-in portion, which is pressed forward by the press-in portion so as to be movable from a standby position to a detection position relative to the shell; and a cover mounted on the rear end portion of the shell, the cover comprising a cover locking portion, a vertical portion provided at the rear end of the cover locking portion, and a tapered portion continuous with the vertical portion, wherein the rear end of the detection member at the standby position is arranged behind the vertical portion and along the position of the tapered portion.

[0009] When the detection member is pressed from the standby position to the detection position, the finger can be placed on the tapered portion of the cover and then moved along the tapered portion so that the finger can touch the rear end of the detection member. Once the finger touches the rear end of the detection member, the finger can be moved to the pressing portion by sliding from there. In this way, for example, in an environment where the connector cannot be directly viewed with the eyes, the position of the detection member can be accurately grasped and the pressing portion can be pressed forward, thereby improving the operability of the detection member.

[0010] [2] In the above [1], preferably, the detection member comprises a detection arm and a pressing portion connected to the rear end of the detection arm and having a pressing surface, and a pressing enlarged surface continuous with the pressing surface is formed at a corner of the pressing portion facing the tapered portion. When the finger is moved along the tapered portion, it will hit the press-in enlarged surface, so it is easy for the finger to hit the detection member. Then, by moving the finger from the press-in enlarged surface to the press-in surface, the detection member can be pressed forward.

[0011] [3] In the above [2], preferably, the press-in portion is formed into a shape that is long in the width direction, and a pair of protruding portions are formed at both ends in the width direction of the press-in portion, and the pair of protruding portions extend obliquely rearward of the press-in surface. When the detection member is pulled out from the detection position to the standby position, the fingers can be hooked on the extended portion, so the detection member can be easily pulled out.

[0012] [Details of the embodiments of the present disclosure] The following is a reference to the attached Figure 1 A specific example of the connector disclosed in the present invention is described. In each of the drawings, for the sake of convenience, a part of the structure is sometimes enlarged or simplified. In addition, the size ratios of the various parts are sometimes different in the various drawings. In addition, the "parallel", "vertical" and "orthogonal" in this specification include not only the cases of being strictly parallel, perpendicular, and orthogonal, but also the cases of being roughly parallel, perpendicular, and orthogonal within the scope of the role and effect of the present embodiment.

[0013] In each of the drawings, three directions perpendicular to each other are shown, and these three directions are respectively indicated as the front-back direction X, the left-right direction Y, and the up-down direction Z. That is, the front-back direction X and the left-right direction Y are perpendicular to each other, the left-right direction Y and the up-down direction Z are perpendicular to each other, and the up-down direction Z and the front-back direction X are perpendicular to each other. The front-back direction X is based on the mating direction of the connector, and the mating surface side of the connector is the front side. With respect to the left-right direction Y and the up-down direction Z, the up-down, left-right and up-down directions when viewed from the mating surface side are based on.

[0014] In addition, the "cylindrical" used in the description of this specification includes not only a cylindrical shape with a circumferential wall continuously formed throughout the entire circumference, but also a shape formed by combining multiple parts to form a cylindrical shape, a shape having a notch in a part of the circumference such as a C-shaped shape, etc. In addition, the shape of the "cylindrical" includes a circle, an ellipse, and a polygon with a pointed or rounded corner.

[0015] In addition, the "ring" in this specification includes a circular ring with a circular outer edge shape, a ring with an elliptical or oblong outer edge shape, a polygonal ring with a polygonal outer edge shape, and a ring with a rounded polygonal outer edge shape, and refers to a ring composed of any closed shape whose outer edge shape is connected by a straight line or a curve. "Ring" includes a ring whose outer edge shape and inner edge shape are the same shape, or a ring whose outer edge shape and inner edge shape are different shapes. "Ring" includes a ring with a predetermined length extending along the central axis, regardless of the length. In addition, "annular" in this specification can be regarded as a ring as a whole, including a ring with a notch, slit, etc. in a part, such as a C-shaped ring.

[0016] In addition, "opposing" in this specification refers to the position where the surfaces or components are located directly opposite to each other, including not only the case where they are completely located directly opposite to each other, but also the case where they are partially located directly opposite to each other. In addition, "opposing" in this specification includes both the case where a component independent of the two parts is interposed between the two parts, and the case where nothing is interposed between the two parts.

[0017] <Implementation Method> (Structure of Connector 10) The connector 10 is a connector that can be mated with a counterpart connector (not shown). The counterpart connector includes a counterpart housing (not shown) that holds a male terminal (not shown). The counterpart housing is in the shape of a cylinder that opens forward. The male terminal is provided to protrude forward from the inner wall (bottom wall) of the counterpart housing.

[0018] like Figure 1 and Figure 2 As shown, the connector 10 includes a housing 20, a cover 40, a detection member 50, and a lever 60. The housing 20 has a lock arm 30. As materials for the housing 20, the cover 40, the detection member 50, and the lever 60, there can be mentioned insulating resin materials.

[0019] (Structure of Housing 20) like Figure 1 As shown, the housing 20 includes a housing body 21 and a front retaining body 22 mounted on the front side of the housing body 21. The housing body 21 internally accommodates and retains a female terminal (not shown) connected to a male terminal. The front retaining body 22 opens to the rear and is externally embedded in the housing body 21 from the front. A plurality of terminal insertion holes 23 for inserting male terminals are formed in the front retaining body 22.

[0020] A pair of locking protection walls 24 are formed on both side edges of the upper side of the housing body 21. A locking arm 30 is formed between the pair of locking protection walls 24. Fig.15 As shown, the lock arm 30 includes a base end portion 31 connected to the upper surface of the housing body 21 , an arm portion 32 extending rearward from the base end portion 31 , and a lock receiving portion 33 formed at a rear end portion 32A of the arm portion 32 .

[0021] The arm portion 32 can swing in the vertical direction with the base end portion 31 as the base end. The lock receiving portion 33 can be displaced in the vertical direction along with the swing of the arm portion 32. The lock receiving portion 33 is elastically displaced downward by a rod locking portion 63 described later during the rotation of the rod 60, and is restored and displaced upward when the rotation of the rod 60 is completed, and can be locked in the rod locking portion 63.

[0022] like Figure 1 As shown, the rear end portion 32A of the arm portion 32 is formed to protrude upward. A pair of lock receiving portions 33 are provided on the upper surface of the rear end portion 32A of the arm portion 32. A pair of mounting portions 24A are formed on the left and right sides of the rear end portion 32A of the arm portion 32, and the detection member 50 is mounted on the inner side of the pair of mounting portions 24A. The mounting portion 24A constitutes a part of the lock protection wall 24 and is formed at the rear end portion of the lock protection wall 24.

[0023] (Rod 60) like Figure 1 As shown, the rod 60 is generally U-shaped as a whole. The rod 60 includes a pair of plate-like portions 61, an operating portion 62 connecting the pair of plate-like portions 61, and a rod locking portion 63 protruding from the operating portion 62. The two plate-like portions 61 are arranged opposite to each other. The plate-like portion 61 is provided with an axial hole 61A penetrating the plate-like portion 61 and a cam groove 61B recessed from the outer surface of the plate-like portion 61 in the thickness direction (left-right direction) of the plate-like portion 61. The cam groove 61B has an entry port 61B1 located at the outer edge of the plate-like portion 61, and is formed in a generally arc shape in a manner approaching the axial hole 61A from the entry port 61B1. The entry port 61B1 is an opening for receiving a cam pin (not shown) of the connector on the other side into the cam groove 61B.

[0024] A shaft portion 21A is formed on the side of the housing body 21. One shaft portion 21A is disposed on each of the two side surfaces of the housing body 21. The shaft portion 21A is received in the shaft hole 61A of the rod 60, so that the rod 60 is rotatably supported on the housing 20. The rod 60 can be rotated. Figure 2 The initial position shown is Figure 3 Rotate between the finished positions shown.

[0025] like Figure 1 and Fig.15As shown, the lever lock portion 63 is formed to protrude inwardly from the inner surface of the operating portion 62 toward the shaft hole 61A. The lever lock portion 63 is locked to the lock receiving portion 33 of the housing 20, so that the lever 60 is held in the completed position, and the connector 10 and the other side connector are maintained in the mating completed state.

[0026] (Detection member 50) like Fig.12 As shown, the detection member 50 includes a pair of detection arms 51 and a press-in portion 52 connected to the rear ends of the pair of detection arms 51. The press-in portion 52 has a press-in surface 53. The press-in surface 53 is formed on the surface of the outer surface of the press-in portion 52 on the side opposite to the pair of detection arms 51. A locking protrusion 51A is formed at a position near the front end of the detection arm 51. The locking protrusion 51A is in a semi-locked shape (when viewed from the Y direction, the front and rear inclined surfaces are in a gentle shape), and protrudes upward from the detection arm 51.

[0027] The press-in portion 52 is formed in a shape that is long in the left-right direction (Y direction), and a pair of protruding portions 54 are formed at both ends of the press-in portion 52 in the left-right direction, and the pair of protruding portions 54 extend obliquely rearward from the press-in surface 53. A press-in enlarged surface 55 that is continuous with the press-in surface 53 is formed at a corner portion (a corner portion facing the tapered portion 43 described later) located at the rear of the lower end side of the press-in portion 52 and the pair of protruding portions 54.

[0028] like Figure 1 As shown in FIG. 1 , the detection arm 51 is mounted on the mounting portion 24A of the body 20. The mounting portion 24A has a mounting hole 24B for inserting the detection arm 51. By inserting a pair of detection arms 51 into a pair of mounting holes 24B from the rear, the detection member 50 can be moved in the front-to-back direction. Figure 3 The standby position shown is the same as Figure 4 Move between the detection positions shown.

[0029] like Fig.13 As shown, a temporary stopper 51B is formed behind the stopper protrusion 51A of the detection arm 51. The temporary stopper 51B protrudes upward from the detection arm 51. A weight reduction portion opening downward is formed in the detection arm 51 at a portion behind the temporary stopper 51B.

[0030] The temporary stopper 51B is received in the mounting hole 24B of the housing 20. A temporary stopper protrusion 24C is formed at the rear end of the upper surface of the inner wall constituting the mounting hole 24B. The temporary stopper protrusion 24C protrudes downward from the upper surface of the inner wall of the mounting hole 24B. The temporary stopper 51B of the detection member 50 is stopped from the front by the temporary stopper protrusion 24C of the housing 20, so that the detection member 50 is held in the standby position in a state of preventing it from detaching backward.

[0031] like Figure 1As shown, the detection arm 51 passes through the mounting hole 24B of the mounting portion 24A and is received in the mounting groove 25 formed between the locking arm 30 and the locking protection wall 24. A locking portion 25A is formed in the mounting groove 25. The locking protrusion 51A of the detection arm 51 is locked to the locking portion 25A from the rear. As a result, the detection member 50 is held in the standby position and is suppressed from moving to the detection position.

[0032] like Fig.13 As shown in FIG. 1 , the front surface of the locking protrusion 51A of the detection arm 51 is formed into a tapered shape. Therefore, when the detection member 50 is pressed forward, the detection arm 51 is elastically deformed and the locking protrusion 51A is displaced downward. When the detection member 50 is pressed forward as it is, the locking protrusion 51A passes over the locking portion 25A, and the detection arm 51 is elastically restored, so that Fig.14 As shown in FIG. 1 , the locking projection 51A is locked to the locking portion 25A from the front. Thus, the detection member 50 is held at the detection position and is suppressed from moving to the standby position.

[0033] like Fig.15 As shown, a bending space 34 into which the detection member 50 can enter from the rear is formed below the locking arm 30. When the detection member 50 is located at the standby position, the detection member 50 is located behind the bending space 34, so that the locking arm 30 can be bent downward. When the locking arm 30 is bent downward, the locking of the rod locking portion 63 and the lock receiving portion 33 is released, thereby allowing the rod 60 to rotate to the initial position (i.e., the connector 10 and the other side connector are separated).

[0034] like Fig.16 As shown, when the detection member 50 is located at the detection position, the detection member 50 is located in the bending space 34, so the lock arm 30 cannot be bent downward. Therefore, the locking of the lever locking portion 63 and the lock receiving portion 33 cannot be released, and the lever 60 is maintained at the completion position.

[0035] (cover 40) The cover 40 guides the wires pulled out from the housing 20 to the rear in a predetermined direction and protects the wires. The cover 40 of this embodiment is cylindrical in shape as a whole and opens to the rear and the side. Figure 8 As shown, the cover 40 includes a pair of upper and lower cover locking portions 41 , a vertical portion 42 provided at the rear end of the upper cover locking portion 41 , and a tapered portion 43 continuous from the vertical portion 42 .

[0036] like Figure 7 As shown in FIG. 1 , the cover locking portion 41 is formed into a shape that is long in the left-right direction. Fig. 9As shown, a pair of retaining protrusions 41A are formed at both ends of the cover locking portion 41. On the other hand, an entry space 26 into which the cover locking portion 41 enters from the left and right directions is formed in the housing 20. A retaining receiving portion 26A that is engaged with the retaining protrusion 41A is formed on the inner wall constituting the entry space 26. The retaining protrusion 41A is engaged with the retaining receiving portion 26A, so that the cover 40 is retained at the rear end of the housing 20.

[0037] like Figure 8 As shown in FIG. 1 , the upper cover locking portion 41 protrudes forward from the upper end of the vertical portion 42. The tapered portion 43 is formed in a tapered shape that tapers downward as it moves from the lower end of the vertical portion 42 toward the rear. Figure 3 As shown, the rear end of the vertical portion 42 is located at substantially the same position in the front-rear direction as the rear end of the mounting portion 24A to which the detection member 50 is mounted.

[0038] The press-in portion 52 of the detection member 50 protrudes downward from the detection arm 51. The lower end of the press-in portion 52 is located at the same position as or slightly below the center of the vertical portion 42 in the vertical direction. That is, the press-in portion 52 is located behind the vertical portion 42. In addition, the lower end of the press-in portion 52 is arranged at a position along the tapered portion 43. The press-in enlarged surface 55 of the press-in portion 52 is formed at a corner of the press-in portion 52 facing the tapered portion 43.

[0039] (Operation Method of Detection Member 50) First, a method for mounting the detection member 50 on the housing 20 is described. Fig. 9 As shown, a pair of detection arms 51 are inserted into a pair of mounting holes 24B of the housing 20 from the rear. Fig.13 As shown, when the detection member 50 reaches the standby position, the temporary stop protrusion 24C is stopped by the temporary stop portion 51B from the front, thereby suppressing the detection member 50 from moving backward. In addition, the stop protrusion 51A is stopped by the stop portion 25A from the rear, thereby suppressing the detection member 50 from moving forward.

[0040] After the detection member 50 is mounted in the standby position relative to the housing 20, the rod 60 is assembled to the housing 20. The rod 60 is assembled to the housing 20 from above while deforming the pair of plate-like portions 61 so as to be separated from each other. After the cover 40 is mounted to the housing 20 while the rod 60 is held in the completion position, the rod 60 is set in advance to the initial position.

[0041] When the connector 10 and the mating connector are shallowly mated, the cam pin of the mating connector enters the cam groove 61B of the lever 60. When the lever 60 is rotated from the initial position to the completion position, the cam pin moves along the cam groove 61B, thereby mating the connector 10 and the mating connector. When the lever 60 reaches the completion position, the mating of the connector 10 and the mating connector is completed, and the terminals of the two are conductively connected to each other.

[0042] Next, the detection member 50, which is a fitting guarantee member, is moved from the standby position to the detection position. The operation of moving the detection member 50 may be performed in an environment where it cannot be directly seen with the eyes, for example, when the connector 10 is hidden behind other members and only the hand is inserted behind the other members. In such a case, it is considered to be extremely difficult to make the finger touch the pressing portion 52 of the detection member 50.

[0043] Therefore, in this embodiment, if Figure 5 As shown in the figure, by placing a finger on the tapered portion 43 and moving the finger along the tapered portion 43, the finger can reliably touch the pressing portion 52 of the detection member 50. In particular, in this embodiment, the fingertip portion of the finger abuts against the pressing enlarged surface 55 of the pressing portion 52. As a result, it becomes extremely easy to make the finger touch the pressing portion 52 of the detection member 50.

[0044] Next, the finger is slightly slid upward to move the finger tip to near the center of the pressing surface 53. Fig.11 As shown in FIG. 5 , the fingertips of the fingers can be hooked on the extension 54, so that the fingers can be firmly touched on the pressing surface 53. Figure 6 As shown, the finger is pushed forward to move the detection member 50 to the detection position. As described above, the detection member 50 moves to the detection position, and the completion of the mating between the connector 10 and the other connector can be detected.

[0045] In addition, when the detection member 50 is moved from the detection position to the standby position, Fig.10 As shown, the fingers can be hooked on the extension parts 54, and more specifically, the pair of extension parts 54 can be pinched and grasped by the index finger and thumb, so the operation of pulling out the detection member 50 is easy.

[0046] (Effects of the Implementation Methods) (1) The connector 10 disclosed in the present invention comprises: a housing 20; a detection member 50 having a press-in portion 52, which is pressed forward by the press-in portion 52 so as to be movable from a standby position to a detection position relative to the housing 20; and a cover 40 mounted on the rear end portion of the housing 20, the cover 40 comprising a cover locking portion 41, a vertical portion 42 provided at the rear end of the cover locking portion 41, and a tapered portion 43 continuous from the vertical portion 42, wherein the rear end of the detection member 50 in the standby position is arranged behind the vertical portion 42 and along the tapered portion 43.

[0047] When the detection member 50 is pressed from the standby position to the detection position, the finger is placed on the tapered portion 43 of the cover 40 and then moved along the tapered portion 43, so that the finger can touch the rear end of the detection member 50. Once the finger touches the rear end of the detection member 50, the finger can be moved to the pressing portion by sliding from there. In this way, for example, in an environment where the connector 10 cannot be directly viewed with the eyes, the position of the detection member 50 can be correctly grasped, and the pressing portion 52 can be pressed forward, so that the operability of the detection member 50 can be improved.

[0048] (2) Preferably, the detection member 50 includes a detection arm 51 and a press-in portion 52 connected to the rear end of the detection arm 51 and having a press-in surface 53, and a press-in enlarged surface 55 continuous with the press-in surface 53 is formed at a corner of the press-in portion 52 facing the tapered portion 43. When the finger is moved along the tapered portion 43, it hits the press-in enlarged surface 55, so it is easy for the finger to hit the detection member 50. Then, by moving the finger from the press-in enlarged surface 55 to the press-in surface 53, the detection member 50 can be pushed forward.

[0049] (3) Preferably, the press-fit portion 52 is formed in a shape long in the width direction, and a pair of protruding portions 54 are formed at both ends in the width direction of the press-fit portion 52 . The pair of protruding portions 54 extend obliquely rearward of the press-fit surface 53 . When the detection member 50 is pulled out from the detection position to the standby position, fingers can be hooked on the extending portion 54 , so the detection member 50 can be easily pulled out.

[0050] (Other embodiments) The above-mentioned embodiment can be implemented as the following modifications. The above-mentioned embodiment and the following modifications can be implemented in combination with each other within the range that there is no technical contradiction.

[0051] In the above embodiment, the example in which the press-in extension surface 55 is formed on both the press-in portion 52 and the protruding portion 54 is described. However, the press-in extension surface may be formed only on the press-in portion 52 .
