Background Art
[0002] The IEEE 802.11ax standard specifies the spatial reuse mechanism, which aims to reuse the wireless resources of the same frequency band of the overlapping Basic Service Set (BSS), thereby increasing the efficiency of frequency band usage. However, according to the current transmission specifications, during the spatial reuse transmission, it may be difficult to successfully receive the packet due to power limitations, and spatial reuse competition must be re-performed, increasing transmission latency. Summary of the invention

The communication module is used to transmit and receive radio frequency signals. The processing unit is coupled to the communication module and is used to perform the following operations: when the communication module detects an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) packet, it determines whether to perform spatial reuse transmission; when it is determined that spatial reuse transmission is to be performed, a spatial reuse backoff counter is used to count down; after the transmission of the overlapping basic service set packet ends, an enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) backoff counter is used to count down; and when one of the spatial reuse backoff counter and the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter ends counting down first, a data packet is transmitted via the communication module.
[0004] The present disclosure further proposes a wireless transmission processing method, which is applicable to a wireless transceiver device and includes: when an overlapping basic service set packet is detected, determining whether to perform spatial reuse transmission; when determining to perform spatial reuse transmission, counting down with a spatial reuse backoff counter; after the transmission of the overlapping basic service set packet is completed, counting down with an enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter; and when one of the spatial reuse backoff counter and the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter finishes counting down first, transmitting a data packet.
[0005] The present disclosure further proposes a wireless communication system, which includes a first wireless transceiver device and a second wireless transceiver device. The second wireless transceiver device is configured to wirelessly connect to the first wireless transceiver device and belongs to the same basic service set (BSS) as the first wireless transceiver, and performs the following operations: when an overlapping basic service set packet is detected, determine whether to perform spatial reuse transmission; when determining to perform spatial reuse transmission, count down with a spatial reuse backoff counter; after the transmission of the overlapping basic service set packet ends, count down with an enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter; and when one of the spatial reuse backoff counter and the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter ends counting down first, transmit a data packet to the first wireless transceiver device. [0019] Figure 2 FIG. 2 is a block diagram of a wireless transceiver device 200 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The wireless transceiver device 200 may be Figure 1The wireless transceiver device 200 includes a communication module 210, a processing unit 220 and a storage unit 230. The communication module 210 is used to transmit and receive radio frequency signals. In other words, the communication module 210 is used to receive and demodulate radio frequency signals into data packets, and to modulate the data packets to be transmitted into radio frequency signals. In some embodiments, the communication module 210 may include multiple antennas, which can be used to transmit and receive multi-input and / or multi-output radio frequency signals. The processing unit 220 is coupled to the communication module 210 and the storage unit 230, and is used to process data packets and determine the transmission mode of the communication module 210 according to the system status and the communication protocol for signal transmission and reception. The processing unit 220 can be, for example, a microprocessor or an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), but is not limited thereto. The storage unit 230 may be any data storage device that can be read and executed by the processing unit 220. The storage unit 230 may be, for example, a subscriber identity module (SIM), a read-only memory (ROM), an erasable programmable ROM (EPROM), an electrically erasable programmable ROM (EEPROM), a random access memory (RAM), a compact disc read-only memory (CD-ROM), a magnetic tape, a hard disk, a solid state drive, a flash memory, or other data storage devices suitable for storing bit data and / or program codes, but is not limited thereto.
[0020] According to the IEEE 802.11ax standard, after detecting an overlapping basic service set physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) packet (hereinafter referred to as an OBSS packet), the maximum transmission power TX_PWR of the wireless transceiver device 200 after obtaining a transmission opportunity (TXOP) is max Determined by formula (1):
[0021]
[0022] If OBSS_PD max ≥OBSS_PD level >OBSS_PD min, (1)
[0023] OBSS_PD level OBSS_PD is the power detection parameter. max OBSS_PD is the maximum power detection parameter. min is the minimum power detection parameter, and TX_PWR ref The reference transmission power level. Power detection parameter OBSS_PD level The formula (2) must be satisfied as follows:
[0024] OBSS_PD level ≤max(OBSS_PD min +min(OBSS_PD max , OBSS_PD min +(TX_PWR ref -TX_PWR)))+10log(PPDU_BW / 20MHz), (2)
[0025] Where PPDU_BW is the bandwidth of the OBSS packet, and TX_PWR is the transmission power that the wireless transceiver device 200 can use after obtaining the transmission opportunity. The bandwidth of the OBSS packet can be, for example, 20MHz channel bandwidth, 40MHz channel bandwidth, 80MHz channel bandwidth, or per 20MHz sub-channel bandwidth. The transmission power TX_PWR used by the wireless transceiver device 200 after obtaining the transmission opportunity is not greater than the maximum transmission power TX_PWR max . Maximum power detection parameter OBSS_PD max and minimum power detection parameter OBSS_PD min It can be obtained from the spatial reuse parameter set element in the beacon. Maximum power detection parameter OBSS_PD max and minimum power detection parameter OBSS_PD min The following equation (3) must be satisfied: -82dBm≤OBSS_PD min ≤OBSS_PD min ≤-62dBm. (3)
[0026] Reference transmit power level TX_PWR ref It is determined by the type of the wireless transceiver device 200. For example, if the wireless transceiver device 200 is a non-access point station, the reference transmission power level TX_PWR ref It is 21dBm.
[0027] Combining the above contents and equations (1)-(3), we can get Figure 3The power detection parameter OBSS_PD for overlapping basic service sets is shown level The relationship between the transmission power TX_PWR, where the diagonal area represents the allowed power detection parameter OBSS_PD level It should be noted that although the larger power detection parameter OBSS_PD level It can increase the transmission opportunities based on spatial reuse (because the measured power msr_pwr is less than the power detection parameter OBSS_PD level The packet can be transmitted under the following conditions, wherein the measured power msr_pwr is the power of the OBSS packet sensed by the antenna in the communication module 210). Figure 3 It can be seen that the larger the power detection parameter OBSS_PD level The corresponding smaller transmission power TX_PWR may cause the data packets transmitted during the power limitation period to be difficult to be successfully received, and the space reuse competition must be re-performed, thereby increasing the transmission latency of the data packets.
[0028] In view of this, the present disclosure provides a mechanism for simultaneously enabling enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) contention function and spatial reuse contention function to perform spatial reuse transmission. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the wireless transceiver device 200 can simultaneously enable enhanced distributed channel access contention function and spatial reuse contention function during spatial reuse transmission. Figure 4The functional block diagram of the processing unit 220 for generating signals for determining the countdown of the spatial reuse counter and the countdown of the enhanced distributed channel access counter is used to generate the first determination signal edcca_out, the second determination signal sec_cca_out and the third determination signal sr_sec_cca_out according to the measured power msr_pwr, the first threshold value edcca_th, the second threshold value ppdu_th and the third threshold value sr_ppdu_th, and comprises a first comparator 221, a second comparator 222, a third comparator 223 and a logic circuit 224. The first comparator 221 is used to compare the measured power msr_pwr with the first threshold value edcca_th to output a first comparison logic level EDCCA1. The second comparator 222 is used to compare the measured power msr_pwr with the second threshold value ppdu_th to output a second comparison logic level EDCCA2. The third comparator 223 is used to compare the measured power msr_pwr with the second threshold value ppdu_th and the third threshold value sr_ppdu_th to output a third comparison logic level EDCCA3. In some embodiments, the measured power msr_pwr is the power of the OBSS packet sensed by the antenna in the communication module 210, the first threshold value edcca_th is a threshold value used to detect whether the main channel is busy, the second threshold value ppdu_th is a threshold value related to the enhanced distributed channel access contention function, and the third threshold value sr_ppdu_th is a threshold value related to the spatial reuse contention function. When the wireless transceiver device 200 receives the OBSS packet, the processing unit 220 may detect the power detection parameter OBSS_PD level The initial value is changed to the detection threshold value according to the power detection parameter OBSS_PD level The first threshold edcca_th, the second threshold ppdu_th and the third threshold sr_ppdu_th are determined, and after the spatial reuse transmission is completed (for example, a transmission opportunity is obtained to transmit a data packet and a corresponding response packet is successfully received), the power detection parameter OBSS_PD is set to level The detection threshold is changed back to the initial value, wherein the detection threshold can be determined according to the bandwidth of the OBSS packet.
[0029] In some embodiments, Figure 4As shown, the logic circuit 224 includes OR gates 224A, 224B and a multiplexer 224C. The two input terminals and the output terminal of the OR gate 224A are respectively coupled to the output terminal of the first comparator 221, the output terminal of the second comparator 222 and the first input terminal of the multiplexer 224C. The two input terminals of the OR gate 224B are respectively coupled to the output terminal of the first comparator 221 and the output terminal of the third comparator 223. The second input terminal and the control terminal of the multiplexer 224C are respectively coupled to the output terminal of the second comparator 222 and used to input the control signal ctrl. If used for the detection of the protocol data unit (the default of the logic circuit 224), the control signal ctrl couples the output terminal of the multiplexer 224C to the second input terminal, otherwise the control signal ctrl couples the output terminal of the multiplexer 224C to the first input terminal. The first determination signal edcca_out is the first comparison logic level EDCCA1 , the second determination signal sr_sec_cca_out is the logic level outputted by the output terminal of the multiplexer 224C, and the third determination signal sr_sec_cca_out is the logic level outputted by the output terminal of the OR gate 224B.
[0030] In other embodiments, the logic circuit 224 may be different from Figure 4 The circuit implementation of the content shown can be directly thought of by a person having ordinary knowledge in the technical field based on the relationship between the measured power msr_pwr, the first threshold value edcca_th, the second threshold value ppdu_th, the third threshold value sr_ppdu_th, the first judgment signal edcca_out, the second judgment signal sec_cca_out and the third judgment signal sr_sec_cca_out disclosed in the present invention.
[0031] In the embodiment, if the measured power msr_pwr is greater than the first threshold value edcca_th, the first comparison logic level EDCCA1 is 1, otherwise the first comparison logic level EDCCA1 is 0. If the measured power msr_pwr is greater than the second threshold value pddu_th, the second comparison logic level EDCCA2 is 1, otherwise the second comparison logic level EDCCA2 is 0. If the measured power msr_pwr is greater than both the second threshold value pddu_th and the third threshold value sr_pddu_th, the third comparison logic level EDCCA3 is 1, otherwise the third comparison logic level EDCCA3 is 0.
[0032] It should be noted that Figure 4 The functional block diagram shown is for OBSS packets of a specific bandwidth. In various embodiments, the processing unit 220 may have multiple Figure 4The functional block diagrams are shown, and these functional block diagrams correspond to secondary channels of different bandwidths, such as a secondary channel with a bandwidth of 20MHz, a secondary channel with a bandwidth of 40MHz, a secondary channel with a bandwidth of 80MHz, and a secondary channel with a bandwidth of Per20MHz, to support spatial reuse transmission of OBSS packets of various bandwidths. For example, the first threshold value edcca_th and the second threshold value pddu_th for the secondary channel with a bandwidth of 20MHz are -62dBm and -72dBm respectively, the first threshold value edcca_th and the second threshold value pddu_th for the secondary channel with a bandwidth of 40MHz are -59dBm and -72dBm respectively, the first threshold value edcca_th and the second threshold value pddu_th for the secondary channel with a bandwidth of 80MHz are -56dBm and -69dBm respectively, and the first threshold value edcca_th and the second threshold value pddu_th for the secondary channel with a bandwidth of Per 20MHz are -62dBm and -72dBm respectively.
[0033] Figure 5A This is an example of enabling both enhanced distributed channel access contention and spatial reuse contention for spatial reuse transmission. When an overlapping basic service set packet is detected (the logic level of the first determination signal edcca_out is 1, indicating that the main channel is busy), the wireless transceiver device 200 sets the power detection parameter OBSS_PD to level The initial value is changed to the detection threshold value, and the OBSS_PD value is changed to the detection threshold value. level Determine whether spatial reuse transmission is possible. During the detection of overlapping BSS packets, the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter is suspended due to the busyness of the main channel caused by the overlapping BSS packets, but the spatial reuse backoff counter will count down after the arbitration inter-frame space (AIFS) period (hereinafter referred to as the AIFS period) when the wireless transceiver device 200 determines that spatial reuse transmission is possible. Figure 5AIn the example of , the wireless transceiver device 200 determines that spatial reuse transmission can be performed during the subsequent AIFS period, because the clear channel assessment (CCA) performed on the secondary channel using the third determination signal sr_sec_cca_out shows that the secondary channel is not busy, the spatial reuse back-off counter starts to count down from the randomly selected back-off value 19 (i.e., the back-off value is reduced after each slot time t). After the transmission of the overlapping basic service set packet is completed, due to the reduction in measured power, the logic level of the second determination signal sec_cca_out changes from 1 to 0, and during the subsequent AIFS period, the clear channel assessment performed on the secondary channel using the second determination signal sec_cca_out shows that the secondary channel is not busy, and at this time, the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter starts to count down from the randomly selected back-off value 26. Since the spatial reuse back-off counter counts down earlier than the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter (i.e., the back-off value decreases to 0 first, and at this time, the spatial reuse back-off counter is the back-off counter that counts down first), and during the point coordination function inter-frame space (PIFS) period before the spatial reuse back-off counter counts down (hereinafter referred to as the PIFS period), the idle channel evaluation of the secondary channel using the third determination signal sr_sec_cca_out shows that the secondary channel is not busy, the wireless transceiver device 200 uses the secondary channel to transmit data packets (e.g., to wireless transceiver devices belonging to the same basic service set) after the spatial reuse back-off counter counts down. After transmitting the data packet and successfully receiving the response packet corresponding to the data packet, the wireless transceiver device 200 ends the spatial reuse transmission, for example, by setting the power detection parameter OBSS_PD level The detection threshold value is changed back to the initial value to end the power limit setting. Meanwhile, if the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter has not finished counting down, the wireless transceiver device 200 stops the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter (ie stops the back-off counter that has not finished counting down).
[0034] Figure 5B Another example of spatial reuse transmission for enabling enhanced distributed channel access contention function and spatial reuse contention function at the same time. Figure 5B In the example, the wireless transceiver device 200 senses the overlapping basic service set packet and transmits the data packet using the secondary channel after the space reuse back-off counter counts down. Figure 5A However, due to the power limit setting factor, the wireless transceiver device 200 may not be able to successfully receive the response packet corresponding to the data packet, resulting in the need to retransmit the data packet. Figure 5BAs shown, after the space reuse back-off counter counts down, during the period of using the secondary channel to transmit data packets, the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter continues to count down, and if the response packet is not successfully received within a period of time, the space reuse back-off counter counts down again. Figure 5B In the example, during the AIFS period after the spatial reuse backoff counter counts down again, the idle channel evaluation of the secondary channel using the third determination signal sr_sec_cca_out shows that the secondary channel is not busy, and at this time the spatial reuse backoff counter starts to count down from the randomly selected backoff value 34. Since the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter ends the countdown earlier than the spatial reuse backoff counter (i.e., the backoff value decreases to 0 first, and at this time the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter is the backoff counter that ends the countdown first), and during the PIFS period before the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter ends the countdown, the idle channel evaluation of the secondary channel using the second determination signal sec_cca_out shows that the secondary channel is not busy, the wireless transceiver device 200 uses the secondary channel to retransmit packets after the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter ends the countdown. After retransmitting the data packet and successfully receiving the response packet corresponding to the data packet, the wireless transceiver device 200 ends the spatial reuse transmission, for example, by setting the power detection parameter OBSS_PD level The detection threshold value is changed back to the initial value, and the power limit setting is ended. Meanwhile, if the spatial reuse back-off counter has not finished counting down, the wireless transceiver device 200 stops the spatial reuse back-off counter (ie stops the back-off counter that has not finished counting down).
[0035] In the above Figure 5A , Figure 5B In the description of FIG. 2 , operations such as detecting OBSS packets, sending data packets, and receiving response packets can be performed through the communication module 210 , and the remaining operations can be performed by the processing unit 220 .
[0036] In summary, the present disclosure provides a wireless transmission processing method, which is applicable to any of the wireless access point devices 110, 120, 130 and the wireless terminal devices 111-112, 121-123, 131-133 in the wireless communication system and the wireless transceiver device 200. Taking the wireless transceiver device 200 as an example, the wireless transmission processing method for the wireless transceiver device 200 can be summarized as follows: Figure 6 The process 60 in the embodiment comprises the following steps:
[0037] Step 602: When the communication module 210 detects an OBSS packet, the processing unit 220 determines whether to perform spatial reuse transmission.
[0038] Step 604: When determining to perform spatial reuse transmission, the processing unit 220 counts down with a spatial reuse backoff counter.
[0039] Step 606: After the transmission of the OBSS packet is completed, the processing unit 220 counts down using the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter.
[0040] Step 608: When one of the spatial reuse back-off counter and the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter ends counting down first, the processing unit 220 transmits the data packet via the communication module 210 (eg, to a wireless transceiver device belonging to the same basic service set).
[0041] In an embodiment, the wireless transmission processing method further includes the following operations: after the processing unit 220 successfully receives a response packet corresponding to the data packet (e.g., from a wireless transceiver device belonging to the same basic service set), the spatial reuse transmission is terminated, and the back-off counters in the spatial reuse back-off counter and the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter that have not yet counted down are stopped. In an embodiment, the wireless transmission processing method further includes the following operations: when the communication module 210 fails to successfully receive a response packet corresponding to the data packet within a predetermined time, the processing unit 220 causes the back-off counters in the spatial reuse back-off counter and the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter that have counted down to count down again, and when one of the spatial reuse back-off counter and the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter counts down first, the data packet is retransmitted. In an embodiment, the wireless transmission processing method further includes the following operations: the processing unit 220 ends the spatial reuse transmission after the communication module 210 successfully receives the response packet corresponding to the retransmitted data packet, and stops the back-off counters in the spatial reuse back-off counter and the enhanced distributed channel access back-off counter that have not yet finished counting down. In an embodiment, the wireless transmission processing method further includes the following operations: the processing unit 220 changes the power detection parameter of the corresponding spatial reuse transmission from the initial value to the detection threshold value when the communication module 210 detects the OBSS packet; and after transmitting the data packet and successfully receiving the response packet corresponding to the data packet, the power detection parameter is changed from the detection threshold value back to the initial value, wherein the detection threshold value is determined according to the bandwidth of the OBSS packet. In an embodiment, the bandwidth of the OBSS packet is 20MHz channel bandwidth, 40MHz channel bandwidth, 80MHz channel bandwidth, or each 20MHz sub-channel bandwidth.
[0042] As can be seen from the above content, according to the spatial reuse transmission performed by enabling the enhanced distributed channel access contention function and the spatial reuse contention function at the same time in accordance with the present disclosure, the data packet can be transmitted when one of the backoff counters of the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter and the spatial reuse backoff counter ends the countdown, and during the period when the spatial reuse backoff counter ends the countdown first but the transmission of the subsequent data packet fails, the enhanced distributed channel access backoff counter continues to count down, so that the packet data can be retransmitted when the countdown ends, thereby further reducing the channel access delay and improving the transmission efficiency. In addition, since the power detection parameter is adjusted during the spatial reuse transmission period (i.e., the power limitation period), the threshold value used for idle channel detection is increased, thereby making the spatial reuse countdown counter less likely to be affected by the secondary channel and stop.
[0043] Although the present disclosure has been disclosed as above by way of embodiments, it is not intended to limit the present disclosure. Any person having ordinary knowledge in the technical field may make slight changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure. Therefore, the protection scope of the present disclosure shall be determined by the scope of the attached patent application.
