[0028] Referring to the accompanying drawings, and in particular Figure 1 , there is shown an exemplary embodiment of a massager in accordance with the present disclosure and generally designated therein by the reference numeral 10. Advantageously, the massager 10 provides oscillating massage and percussion massage by having a plurality of removable massager attachments.

[0029] Still referring to Figure 1 , the massager 10 has a housing 12. The housing 12 is formed with a massage head portion 14 and a handle extension portion 16 extending from the massage head portion 14. The massage head portion 14 is in a cylindrical shape and forms a first surface 17 opposite to a second surface 18 ( Figure 2 ), with a side wall 20 therebetween. However, the massage head portion 14 may also be of other shapes. The massage head portion 14 is removably connected to a first oscillating massager attachment 22. The handle extension portion 16 is removably connected to a removable handle portion 24. A lock ring 26 is fixed between the handle extension portion 16 and the removable handle portion 24. Both the handle extension portion 16 and the removable handle portion 24 are in a cylindrical shape. However, the handle extension portion 16 and the removable handle portion 24 may be of other shapes. The handle extension portion 16 extends from the side wall 20 of the massage head portion 14.

[0030] Referring to Figure 2 , the massage head portion 14 has a button 28 that extends through the second surface 18 of the massage head portion 14. The massage head portion 14 has lights 30, 31, 33, such as light emitting diodes (“LEDs”), each of which extends through the second surface 18 of the massage head portion 14.

[0031] Referring to Figure 3, the massage head portion 14 has an adapter 32 extending outward from the first surface 17 of the massage head portion 14. The adapter 32 is octagonal in shape. However, the adapter 32 can also be other shapes. The adapter 32 is made of magnetic material. However, the adapter 32 can be made of non-magnetic material. The housing 12 can also accommodate a controller (e.g., a microcontroller unit and a printed circuit board that control the operation of the massager 10) such that the button 28 starts and stops the motor, and a battery, e.g., a 1x18650 lithium-ion battery. The motor can rotate the adapter 32. For example, the motor can oscillate the adapter 32 by repeatedly rotating the adapter 32 30 degrees clockwise and then 30 degrees counterclockwise.

[0032] Reference Figures 4 to 7 , the massager 10 has a plurality of removable massager attachments 34. The removable massager attachments 34 include a first oscillating massager attachment 22 as shown in Figure 7 , a second oscillating massager attachment 36 as shown in Figure 6 , and a percussion attachment 38 as shown in Figure 5 .

[0033] As shown in Figure 7 , the first oscillating massager attachment 22 has four protrusions 40 arranged in a square pattern that extend from the flat circular surface 42 of the disk 44, and the disk 44 has a recess on the side of the disk 44 opposite the four protrusions 40 that is complementary to the octagonal shape of the adapter 32. The first oscillating massager attachment 22 is made of a material that can be attracted by a magnet and / or the disk 44 has a material that can be attracted by a magnet in the recess of the disk 44.

[0034] As shown in Figure 6 , the second oscillating massager attachment 36 has two protrusions 46 that extend on opposite sides of the flat circular surface 48 of the disk 50, and the disk 50 has a recess on the side of the disk 50 opposite the two protrusions 46 that is complementary to the octagonal shape of the adapter 32. The second oscillating massager attachment 36 is made of a material that can be attracted by a magnet and / or the disk 50 has a material that can be attracted by a magnet in the recess of the disk 50.

[0035] As shown in Figure 5As shown, the percussion attachment 38 has a flat circular surface 52 of a disk 54 and an extension 56 extending from the disk 54 to extend out from the circumference of the flat circular surface 52. A spherical member 58 is connected to the free end of the extension 56. A semi-cylindrical body 60 continuous with the extension 56 projects from the first side of the disk 54. The disk 54 has a recess on the second side of the disk 54 opposite to the first side having the semi-cylindrical body 60, which is complementary to the octagonal shape of the adapter 32. The disk 54 is made of a material attracted by a magnet and / or the disk 54 is made of a material attracted by a magnet in the recess of the disk 54. The spherical member 58 can be a material different from the disk 54, the extension 56, and the semi-cylindrical body 60, for example, a flexible material such as rubber.

[0036] Reference Figure 4 , the octagonal shape of the adapter 32 and the recess on the side of the disk 54 opposite to the semi-cylindrical body 60, which is complementary to the octagonal shape of the adapter 32, allow the percussion attachment 38 to be connected to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10 in different orientations, and the different orientations include a first orientation 62 (depicted as solid in Figure 4 ), as well as a second orientation 64, a third orientation 66, and a fourth orientation 68 (depicted as semi-transparent in Figure 4 ). The first orientation 62, the second orientation 64, the third orientation 66, and the fourth orientation 68 can achieve different massage angles.

[0037] Reference Figure 1 , the removable handle portion 24 is removably connected to the handle extension portion 16 by a lock ring 26. For example, the lock ring 26 can have a set of threads to cooperate with a set of threads on the removable handle portion 24 so as to removably connect the lock ring 26 and the removable handle portion 24, or the lock ring 26 can be connected to the removable handle portion 24 by a friction fit so as to removably connect the lock ring 26 and the removable handle portion 24. The lock ring 26 can also have another set of threads to cooperate with a set of threads on the handle extension portion 16 so as to connect the lock ring 26 and the handle extension portion 16, or the lock ring 26 can be permanently connected to the handle extension portion 16 by, for example, an adhesive. Reference Figure 8 , the removable handle portion 24 has a housing 70 forming an internal volume 72. When the removable handle portion 24 is removably connected to the handle extension portion 16 by the lock ring 26, the internal volume 72 allows the USB cable 74 to be stored inside the massager 10. Thus, the massager 10 forms a split handle for storage so that the USB cable 74 can be placed inside.

[0038] Reference Figure 9, during operation, user 76 can select one of the removable massage attachments 34 and place the adapter 32 in the recess of one of the discs 44, 50, 54 to connect one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38 to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10. The connection between one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38 and the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10 can be maintained by magnetic attraction between the adapter 32 and the recess of one of the discs 44, 50, 54. User 76 presses the button 28 to activate the massager 10. For example, by pressing the button 28, the controller supplies power to activate the motor, which rotates the adapter 32 by 30 degrees clockwise and then 30 degrees counterclockwise repeatedly to rotate one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38. The user can press the button 28 multiple times to change the mode of the massager 10 or turn off the massager 10 by deactivating the motor. For example, by pressing the button 28 once, the controller of the massager 10 activates the low mode; by pressing the button 28 twice, the controller of the massager 10 activates the medium mode, in which the motor increases speed to oscillate the adapter 32 by rotating it 30 degrees clockwise and then 30 degrees counterclockwise more quickly than in the low mode; by pressing the button 28 three times, the controller of the massager 10 activates the high mode, in which the motor increases speed to oscillate the adapter 32 by rotating it 30 degrees clockwise and then 30 degrees counterclockwise more quickly than in the medium and low modes; by pressing the button 28 four times, the controller stops supplying power to the massager 10 to deactivate the motor, thereby stopping the rotation of the adapter 32. When the massager 10 is in the low mode, one of the lights 30, 31, 33 lights up; when the massager 10 is in the medium mode, two of the lights 30, 31, 33 light up; when the massager 10 is in the high mode, three of the lights 30, 31, 33 light up; and when the massager 10 is deactivated, none of the lights 30, 31, 33 light up. User 76 can press one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38 connected to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10 against the body 78 of user 76 to apply massage. As Figure 9 shown, user 76 can press the first oscillating massage attachment 22 connected to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10 against the body 78 of user 76 such that the four protrusions 40 exert pressure on the body 78 of user 76, and the four protrusions 40 rotate repeatedly by the adapter 32 connected to the first oscillating massage attachment 22, for example, 30 degrees clockwise and then, for example, 30 degrees counterclockwise, as Figure 1As shown by arrow 23, deep tissue oscillating massage is applied. Similarly, when the second oscillating massage attachment 36 is connected to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10, the user 76 can press the second oscillating massage attachment 36 against the user's body 78 such that the two protrusions 46 apply pressure to the user's body and the two protrusions 46 rotate repeatedly via the adapter 32 connected to the first oscillating massage attachment 22, for example, 30 degrees clockwise and then, for example, 30 degrees counterclockwise, to apply deep tissue oscillating massage. When the percussion attachment 38 is connected to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10, the user 76 can move the percussion attachment 38 closer to the user's body 78 such that the spherical member 58 can rotate repeatedly via the adapter 32 connected to the percussion attachment 38 to move the spherical member 58 towards and away from the body to contact the user's body as shown by arrow 39, thereby applying pressure pulses to the body for percussion massage. As Figure 4 shown and discussed herein, the octagonal shape of the adapter 32 and the recess complementary to the octagonal shape of the adapter 32 on the side of the disk 54 opposite the semi-cylinder 60 allow the percussion attachment 38 to be connected to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10 in different orientations to achieve different massage angles.

[0039] The user 76 can selectively remove one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38 connected to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10 by applying a force to one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38 connected to the massage head portion 14, the force overcoming the magnetic attraction between the adapter 32 and the recess in one of the disks 44, 50, 54 to disconnect one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38 connected to the massage head portion 14. Then, by placing the adapter 32 into the recess in one of the disks 44, 50, 54, another one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38 can be connected to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10 to connect another one of the first oscillating massage attachment 22, the second oscillating massage attachment 36, and the percussion attachment 38 to the massage head portion 14 of the massager 10.
