Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] This invention relates to the field of trunking communication, and more specifically, to a hands-free command and dispatch voice communication system and method. Background Technology
[0002] In IP-based broadband trunking communication systems, a group is typically defined, enabling half-duplex voice calls within the group. Its key feature is that all participants must press the PTT button to request talk time and receive system authorization before speaking; during the call, higher-priority users can also press the PTT button to preempt talk time. This mechanism ensures efficient command and dispatch in scenarios such as public security, emergency response, and firefighting, and has been widely adopted with the increasing prevalence of 4G / 5G.
[0003] However, in some special work scenarios, such as traffic police driving motorcycles, emergency personnel conducting on-site rescues, and firefighters engaging in firefighting from inside the building, personnel have other work needs and cannot free their hands to press the PTT button.
[0004] To solve this button-pressing problem, there are generally two solutions:
[0005] (a) It still uses half-duplex mode, but solves the button problem through technical means. For example, it automatically triggers the PTT button through voice VOX detection, which improves the ease of use. However, it has two drawbacks that make it difficult to widely adopt:
[0006] 1) Detecting the voice takes time, which causes the first few words to be lost and the called party to not hear them;
[0007] 2) Ambient noise can also trigger PTT, causing misjudgments and affecting usability;
[0008] (ii) Use full-duplex voice conferencing. Voice conferencing has no technical means to restrict speaking, which can cause noise in the meeting room, making it unsuitable for command and dispatch scenarios where orders must be obeyed. In addition, the number of terminals that can access the full-duplex connection is limited, and too many terminals can cause a decrease in voice call quality and affect the communication effect. Summary of the Invention
[0009] To address the need for hands-free operation while maintaining efficient command and dispatch, this invention proposes a technical solution for hybrid communication between half-duplex and full-duplex terminals within the same group. Different personnel select different terminals: commanders use half-duplex terminals for efficient command, while operators use full-duplex terminals to free their hands. This rapid mode switching achieves unique results: commanders' instructions are efficiently transmitted via half-duplex, operators receive and execute half-duplex instructions efficiently, and respond to commanders via full-duplex voice. This addresses application needs in pain-point scenarios without increasing terminal hardware costs.
[0010] To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the present invention provides a hands-free command and dispatch voice communication system, the system comprising:
[0011] The system platform and at least two terminals, wherein the terminals are connected to the system platform via an IP network;
[0012] The terminal includes a full-duplex terminal and a half-duplex terminal. The full-duplex terminal supports both full-duplex and half-duplex calls, while the half-duplex terminal only supports half-duplex calls.
[0013] The system platform supports full-duplex and half-duplex modes, and is used to manage the voice communication of the terminal in both modes, as well as control the switching between the two modes.
[0014] In full-duplex mode, all full-duplex terminals conduct full-duplex voice communication via voice conferencing without needing to operate the PTT button; all half-duplex terminals only receive and play voice messages from the voice conference without sending their own.
[0015] In half-duplex mode, all terminals are used as half-duplex terminals and need to apply for the right to speak via the PTT button. The right holder sends voice messages and the other terminals receive voice messages.
[0016] The system platform is also used to automatically switch from full-duplex mode to half-duplex mode when it detects that any terminal initiates a call and obtains talk rights via the PTT button; and to automatically switch back to full-duplex mode after a set duration has elapsed since the half-duplex call ended.
[0017] This invention constructs an IP network system composed of a system platform and multiple types of terminals (full-duplex / half-duplex). The core lies in the system platform's dual-mode management engine, which can dynamically and automatically switch between a full-duplex free-flowing conference mode and a half-duplex ordered command and dispatch mode based on PTT button talk events (rather than terminal type). This fundamentally solves the core problem that a single communication mode cannot simultaneously meet the contradictory needs of efficient command and hands-free operation. It breaks the limitations of traditional system modes being fixed or disconnected from user operation. It achieves an ideal working state of routine collaboration and command priority. In daily collaboration, relevant personnel can work with both hands and communicate freely in full-duplex mode; once formal command is needed, any member (especially the commander) can instantly switch the system to a serious, ordered half-duplex command channel by pressing the PTT button, ensuring smooth command delivery.
[0018] Preferably, after switching from full-duplex mode to half-duplex mode, and after a set time has elapsed since the end of a half-duplex call, the system platform automatically switches back to full-duplex mode. After the switching is completed, each terminal receives a corresponding notification so that the terminal user is aware that the usage mode has been switched.
[0019] Preferably, the system platform also supports administrators to actively enable and disable full-duplex mode. When full-duplex mode is enabled, the system operates in full-duplex mode; when full-duplex mode is disabled, the system operates in half-duplex mode.
[0020] A master switch, controllable by the administrator, is added to the dual-mode management engine, allowing the system to be forced to operate only in half-duplex mode. This addresses the management need to completely disable free-talking functionality in specific high-level tasks, secure communications, or extreme situations to ensure absolute discipline and security in communications. It enhances the system's controllability and scenario adaptability, meeting the practical requirements of hierarchical and categorized management within the command system.
[0021] Preferably, when the full-duplex terminal is used as a called terminal in half-duplex mode, it automatically mutes its microphone and uses it only as a voice receiver; and / or, the terminal is equipped with a wireless headset.
[0022] Specifically, through software commands or hardware control, when half-duplex mode is activated, the audio input channels of all full-duplex terminals are forcibly muted. This prevents terminals in full-duplex mode from experiencing background noise interference or accidental access control after the system switches to half-duplex mode, thus ensuring the purity of the half-duplex channel. It also guarantees call quality and order in half-duplex command mode, technically eliminating the possibility of unauthorized speech.
[0023] Preferably, the PTT button is a physical button or a software-triggered virtual button. This solves the problem of operational consistency across different terminal types (professional walkie-talkies, smartphones, vehicle-mounted radios, computers), enabling the core switching logic of this invention to adapt to various hardware. It greatly expands the system's terminal compatibility and user flexibility, allowing the innovative solution to be implemented in various existing or new equipment.
[0024] Preferably, the terminal includes at least one of a mobile terminal, a fixed terminal, or a wearable device. It is emphasized that this invention is applicable to command and dispatch in all scenarios, rather than being limited to a specific type of device (such as walkie-talkies only).
[0025] Preferably, the system platform is a single server or a distributed deployment of multiple servers, which together realize the management and switching functions of full-duplex and half-duplex voice communication.
[0026] Preferably, the communication scope managed by the system platform includes at least one of groups, associated groups, dispatch groups, call rooms, and conference rooms.
[0027] Preferably, the full-duplex terminal may not be equipped with a PTT button and is only used for voice communication in full-duplex mode; the terminal also includes a display screen for displaying at least one of call mode, call rights information or group member information.
[0028] Preferably, the system further includes an interconnection module for interconnecting with an external voice communication system;
[0029] When the external voice communication system is a full-duplex conferencing system:
[0030] If the system platform is in full-duplex mode, the conference voice of this system will be bidirectionally mixed and exchanged with the conference voice of the external voice communication system.
[0031] If the system platform is in half-duplex mode, it blocks conference mixing data from external voice communication systems and only sends the half-duplex calling voice of this system to the external voice communication system for playback.
[0032] In full-duplex mode, this system features bidirectional audio mixing and fusion between the two conferencing parties. In half-duplex mode, it blocks irrelevant external audio, outputting only the system's command audio in one direction. This solves the problem of preventing external chatter from interfering with serious internal instructions when the system enters command mode (half-duplex) in interconnection with traditional conferencing systems. It achieves command channel isolation during cross-system collaboration, ensuring that the authority of command is not diluted by irrelevant external communication, while seamlessly integrating the meeting in full-duplex mode.
[0033] Preferably, when the external voice communication system is a half-duplex command system:
[0034] If the system platform is in full-duplex mode, the forwarding of the system's conference voice to the external voice communication system is blocked;
[0035] The system platform and the external voice communication system negotiate to determine a unified half-duplex PTT decision system. This half-duplex PTT decision system makes authorization decisions on cross-system PTT group call requests. If the system platform or the terminal of the external voice communication system initiates a PTT call and is authorized by the half-duplex PTT decision system, the system platform will automatically switch to half-duplex mode. After a set duration has elapsed since the half-duplex mode call ended, the system platform will automatically switch back to full-duplex mode.
[0036] In full-duplex mode, this system disables its own voice output. For half-duplex communication, both parties negotiate a single decision point, forwarding only one voice message. Upon detecting the establishment of a half-duplex call, it automatically switches to half-duplex mode. This addresses the industry pain point mentioned in the background technology—avoiding the long-term, ineffective occupation of narrowband channel resources due to interconnection, leading to congestion in the other system. It also resolves the conflict of voice right decision during cross-system group calls. It achieves optimal resource utilization and efficient cross-system command and control. It protects narrowband channel resources while ensuring order in cross-system group calls through a unified decision mechanism.
[0037] The present invention also provides a communication method based on the aforementioned hands-free command and dispatch voice communication system, comprising the following steps:
[0038] The system platform establishes IP connections with multiple terminals and initializes communication groups;
[0039] In the default or set full-duplex mode, full-duplex terminals communicate with each other in full-duplex voice mode, while half-duplex terminals only receive voice from full-duplex communication.
[0040] When any terminal initiates a call via the PTT button and successfully obtains the right to speak, the system platform automatically switches the communication mode to half-duplex mode.
[0041] In half-duplex mode, the speaker transmits voice messages, and the other terminals receive them.
[0042] When a half-duplex call ends, the system platform remains in half-duplex mode until the set duration of the half-duplex call ends, at which point it automatically switches back to full-duplex mode.
[0043] One or more technical solutions provided by this invention have at least the following technical effects or advantages:
[0044] 1. Free up workers' hands and improve collaborative efficiency;
[0045] 2. Ensure the absolute authority and immediacy of command instructions;
[0046] 3. Intelligently saves critical communication resources and avoids system congestion;
[0047] 4. Improve the order and efficiency of cross-system command and coordination. Attached Figure Description

[0053] To better understand the above-mentioned objectives, features, and advantages of the present invention, the present invention will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments. It should be noted that, where there is no conflict, the embodiments of the present invention and the features thereof can be combined with each other.
[0054] Many specific details are set forth in the following description in order to provide a full understanding of the invention. However, the invention may also be practiced in other ways different from those described herein, and therefore the scope of protection of the invention is not limited to the specific embodiments disclosed below.
[0055] Those skilled in the art should understand that, in the disclosure of this invention, the terms "longitudinal," "lateral," "upper," "lower," "front," "rear," "left," "right," "vertical," "horizontal," "top," "bottom," "inner," and "outer," etc., indicate the orientation or positional relationship based on the orientation or positional relationship shown in the accompanying drawings. They are only for the convenience of describing this invention and simplifying the description, and do not indicate or imply that the device or element referred to must have a specific orientation, or be constructed and operated in a specific orientation. Therefore, the above terms should not be construed as limiting this invention.
[0056] It is understood that the term "a" should be understood as "at least one" or "one or more", that is, in one embodiment, the number of an element can be one, while in another embodiment, the number of the element can be multiple, and the term "a" should not be understood as a limitation on the number.
[0057] Example 1;
[0058] This invention provides a hands-free command and dispatch voice communication system, the system comprising:
[0059] The system platform and at least two terminals, wherein the terminals are connected to the system platform via an IP network;
[0060] The terminal includes a full-duplex terminal and a half-duplex terminal. The full-duplex terminal supports both full-duplex and half-duplex calls, while the half-duplex terminal only supports half-duplex calls.
[0061] The system platform supports full-duplex and half-duplex modes, and is used to manage the voice communication of the terminal in both modes, as well as control the switching between the two modes.
[0062] In full-duplex mode, all full-duplex terminals conduct full-duplex voice communication via voice conferencing without needing to operate the PTT button; all half-duplex terminals only receive and play voice messages from the voice conference without sending their own.
[0063] In half-duplex mode, all terminals are used as half-duplex terminals and need to apply for the right to speak via the PTT button. The right holder sends voice messages and the other terminals receive voice messages.
[0064] The system platform is also used to automatically switch from full-duplex mode to half-duplex mode when it detects that any terminal initiates a call and obtains talk rights via the PTT button; and to automatically switch back to full-duplex mode after a set duration has elapsed since the half-duplex call ended.
[0065] In this embodiment of the invention, each terminal is equipped with a microphone, a speaker, and a PTT button. The PTT button allows users to request talk time, the microphone allows users to speak, and the speaker allows users to play voice messages. A wireless headset allows for the separation of the microphone, speaker, and terminal.
[0066] The specific implementation method for the system platform to automatically switch back to full-duplex mode after a set duration has elapsed in half-duplex mode is as follows: After a half-duplex mode call ends, the system platform starts a timer with a duration of T. After the timer expires, it automatically switches back to full-duplex mode. T is usually set to 0-5 seconds. The specific value of T can be adjusted according to actual needs. This embodiment of the invention does not impose any corresponding limitations.
[0067] In this embodiment of the invention, after switching from full-duplex mode to half-duplex mode, and after a set time has elapsed since the end of a half-duplex call, the system platform automatically switches back to full-duplex mode. Upon completion of the switch, each terminal receives a corresponding notification so that the user is aware that the usage mode has been switched. The notification method can be text, voice, or a beeping sound; this embodiment of the invention does not impose any limitations on the notification method.
[0068] In this embodiment of the invention, the system platform also supports administrators actively enabling and disabling full-duplex mode. When full-duplex mode is enabled, the system operates in full-duplex mode; when full-duplex mode is disabled, the system operates in half-duplex mode. Administrators can configure this according to actual needs and can set the priority of each terminal, allocating corresponding talk rights according to priority when multiple terminals request talk rights.
[0069] In this embodiment of the invention, the full-duplex terminal automatically mutes its microphone in half-duplex mode and uses it only as a voice receiver.
[0070] In this embodiment of the invention, the terminal includes at least one of a mobile terminal, a fixed terminal, or a wearable device.
[0071] In this embodiment of the invention, the PTT button is a physical button or a software-triggered virtual button.
[0072] In this embodiment of the invention, the system platform is a single server or multiple servers deployed in a distributed manner to jointly realize the management and switching functions of full-duplex and half-duplex voice communication.
[0073] In this embodiment of the invention, the communication scope managed by the system platform includes at least one of groups, associated groups, dispatch groups, call rooms, and conference rooms.
[0074] In this embodiment of the invention, the full-duplex terminal may not be equipped with a PTT button and is only used for voice communication in full-duplex mode; the terminal also includes a display screen for displaying at least one of call mode, talk rights information or group member information.
[0075] In this embodiment of the invention, the system may also include modules such as a positioning module, a camera module, a night vision module, an infrared module, an altimeter module, an explosion-proof module, and a waterproof module, depending on actual usage needs and environmental requirements, to meet actual usage needs and enrich the functions of the system and terminal.
[0076] In this embodiment of the invention, the communication range is a group, typically the basic unit of a broadband trunked communication half-duplex intercom group call. Other terms such as call room, conference room, etc., are also within the scope of protection.
[0077] In this embodiment of the invention, the system platform can be a single server or a distributed deployment of multiple servers. Multiple servers, as long as their combined technical features are the same as or similar to those of this invention, also fall within the scope of protection of this invention.
[0078] In this invention, any changes to the basic hardware features of the terminal, as long as they satisfy the usage scenario definition of this invention or omit certain less common scenarios, are also within the scope of protection of this invention. For example, if a full-duplex terminal does not need to be used as the calling terminal in a half-duplex group call and therefore does not require a PTT button, this will not affect the applicability of this invention and is still within its scope of protection. Similarly, adding other hardware features such as a display screen to the terminal does not affect the applicability of this invention.
[0079] The terminal is equipped with a wireless headset, such as a Bluetooth headset. Connecting the Bluetooth headset to the terminal expands its functionality and makes it more convenient for users.
[0080] Please refer to Figure 1 , Figure 1 This is a diagram illustrating the voice flow in full-duplex mode. Figure 1 FD1, FD2, and FD3 are all full-duplex terminals, while HD1 and HD2 are both half-duplex terminals. The number of full-duplex terminals and half-duplex terminals in this system can be adjusted according to actual needs, and this embodiment of the invention does not impose any corresponding limitations.
[0081] Please refer to Figure 2 , Figure 2 This is a diagram illustrating the voice flow in half-duplex mode, where HD2 acts as the caller.
[0082] This invention is not simply a mixture of half-duplex and full-duplex communication. Rather, it's an innovative invention born from a thorough understanding of user scenarios. For example, terminals in a group may be in both full-duplex and half-duplex modes. The corresponding usage scenario is: team members who need to free their hands use full-duplex communication, while the group commander doesn't need to participate in trivial exchanges but can listen in. When the commander has important instructions to issue, they can directly press the PTT button to quickly deliver the instructions to each group member. Members receive the instructions, execute them efficiently, and their voice replies are delivered to the commander in full-duplex mode. This is the most suitable command and dispatch method for industries such as fire fighting, emergency response, and public security.
[0083] Example 2;
[0084] Based on the aforementioned implementation, Example 2 illustrates the present invention using a specific fire protection application as an example: a system implementation example applied to fire command and dispatch.
[0085] This embodiment describes a specific application of the present invention in a city fire brigade's operational command system. The system is deployed on a fire cloud platform, and the fire command center, fire stations, fire trucks, and frontline firefighters (including interior attack team members, commanders, and ladder truck operators) access it through various terminals.
[0086] I. System Composition and Initialization:
[0087] System platform: Deployed in the city's fire protection cloud data center in software form, it undertakes functions such as session control, mode management, voice right determination, and interconnection gateway.
[0088] Terminal configuration: FD1, FD2: Smart fire helmets worn by firefighters engaged in interior assault. They feature built-in noise-canceling microphones, bone conduction speakers, vital signs sensors, and a virtual PTT button (activated via touch on the side of the helmet or voice command). These terminals are preset to full-duplex operation.
[0089] HD1: A command tablet held by the on-site commander, equipped with a virtual PTT button. It is preset as a half-duplex terminal.
[0090] HD2: A vehicle-mounted radio used by ladder truck operators, featuring a physical PTT button. It is preset as a half-duplex terminal.
[0091] The command center operators use computers (half-duplex terminals) equipped with system client software.
[0092] Networking: All terminals access the system platform via 4G / 5G broadband wireless network, wired network or satellite link to form a communication group called "Area A Fire Site Command Center".
[0093] II. Dynamic switching of workflow and mode:
[0094] Suppose that during a firefighting operation in a high-rise building, two interior attack team members (FD1, FD2) enter the building to conduct reconnaissance, the on-site commander (HD1) is in the safe zone outside the building, and the ladder truck (HD2) is operating on the perimeter.
[0095] Phase 1: Routine Operations and Collaboration (System in full-duplex mode);
[0096] System status: The group is initialized to full-duplex mode. All terminals (FD1, FD2, HD1, HD2, command center) are interconnected with the system platform, and audio channels are all open, allowing free speaking and listening.
[0097] Scenario: FD1 and FD2 are moving through the corridor. They can communicate hands-free, without pressing any buttons, as if having a natural conversation: "FD1 reports, the smoke concentration on the 7th floor is high, visibility is about 3 meters." "FD2 received, the temperature of the door to the room on the right is abnormal, it is recommended to detect it." HD1, HD2 and the command center can listen to all conversations and have a full grasp of the details on the scene, but without interfering with the continuous reconnaissance and communication of the front-line team members.
[0098] Phase Two: Command Instructions Intervene (Triggering Switch to Half-Duplex Mode):
[0099] Triggering event: On-site commander HD1 detects a change in the fire situation and needs to issue an immediate evacuation order. He presses the virtual PTT button on the command tablet.
[0100] System actions:
[0101] Detection and Decision: The system platform continuously monitors all PTT request signals. Upon receiving a PTT request from HD1, the talk privilege decision module immediately grants HD1 talk privileges according to preset rules (such as half-duplex group call channel being idle).
[0102] Global mode switching: The mode management module synchronizes its actions, sending a mode switching signal to the entire group, forcibly and seamlessly switching the system from full-duplex mode to half-duplex mode.
[0103] Terminal linkage:
[0104] Upon receiving the signal, the microphones of the FD1 and FD2 smart helmets were automatically muted, switching to a listen-only mode. The helmet display screen indicated that command was being administered.
[0105] The HD1 command tablet gained control of the conversation and emitted a beeping sound.
[0106] The voice routing of all terminals (including the command center) was switched to prepare to receive voice calls from the calling HD1 single route.
[0107] Scenario: Within approximately 200 milliseconds of pressing the PTT button on HD1, the system completes the switchover. HD1 issues the instruction: "Attention all personnel, the fire is spreading upwards. Attack team members, immediately evacuate to the 5th floor refuge area!" This instruction is transmitted clearly and without interference to every terminal in the group. FD1 / FD2 and HD2 are unable to interrupt, ensuring the instruction is fully received.
[0108] Phase 3: Command termination and recovery (automatic switch back to full-duplex mode):
[0109] Triggering event: HD1 releases the virtual PTT button, ending the call. The system detects the release of talk time and starts a short (e.g., 3 seconds) silence timer to confirm there are no new PTT requests.
[0110] System Action: The mode management module automatically switches the system back to full-duplex mode and sends a recovery signal. The microphones of the FD1 / FD2 helmets automatically unmute, restoring free communication capabilities.
[0111] Scenario: After receiving the command, FD1 / FD2 reply in full-duplex mode: "FD1 understands, evacuating!" "FD2 understands!" and continue to communicate about the situation during the evacuation.
[0112] Example 3;
[0113] Based on the foregoing implementation, the system described in Embodiment 3 of the present invention further includes an interconnection module for interconnecting with an external voice communication system;
[0114] When the external voice communication system is a full-duplex conferencing system:
[0115] If the system platform is in full-duplex mode, the conference voice of this system will be bidirectionally mixed and exchanged with the conference voice of the external voice communication system.
[0116] If the system platform is in half-duplex mode, it blocks conference mixing data from external voice communication systems and only sends the half-duplex calling voice of this system to the external voice communication system for playback.
[0117] In this embodiment of the invention, when the external voice communication system is a half-duplex command system:
[0118] If the system platform is in full-duplex mode, the forwarding of the system's conference voice to the external voice communication system is blocked;
[0119] The system platform and the external voice communication system negotiate to determine a unified half-duplex PTT decision system.
[0120] When full-duplex and half-duplex systems are interconnected, especially when the half-duplex system is a narrowband private network system, the full-duplex conference voice is usually mixed and sent to the half-duplex terminal for playback. This will occupy the narrowband voice channel for a long time, causing congestion in the half-duplex system, and the group calls of the half-duplex system itself are also easily affected.
[0121] This system supports both full-duplex and half-duplex modes and defines a trigger method for rapid switching between the two modes. Therefore, when interconnecting with other full-duplex and half-duplex systems, the system can dynamically switch modes according to the interconnected system's status, achieving optimal voice communication between the system and the other party under different modes.
[0122] Please refer to Figure 3 , Figure 3 This diagram illustrates the interconnection between an external system and this system during full-duplex voice conferencing. Figure 3 FD1-FD6 are all full-duplex terminals, while HD1 and HD2 are half-duplex terminals. When the system platform is in full-duplex mode, the conference audio from the external system and the system itself is mixed separately and sent to the other party. The actual effect is that two audio conferences are merged into one audio conference. When the system is in half-duplex mode, the mixed audio data from the external system is discarded, and the half-duplex audio from the system is sent to the external system for playback.
[0123] Please refer to Figure 4 , Figure 4 This diagram illustrates the interconnection between the external system (which is a half-duplex command system) and the internal system. Figure 4 FD1, FD2, and FD3 are all full-duplex terminals, while HD1-HD4 are all half-duplex terminals. The decision-making mechanism for half-duplex group calls from external systems is negotiated and can be either from this system or an external system, with priority determined according to the established mechanism. Conference voice in full-duplex mode is not forwarded to external systems; therefore, half-duplex terminals do not need to play full-duplex voice. Mode switching must meet the half-duplex call-making mechanism: when an external system initiates a half-duplex call and is authorized by the final decision-making system, this system immediately switches to half-duplex mode until the half-duplex call ends (this is consistent with mode switching caused by a group call initiated by a half-duplex terminal in this system). When this system is in half-duplex mode, the half-duplex systems of the external system and this system complete signaling and voice interfacing, similar to a dispatch group. The two systems negotiate a PTT decision-making system in advance; regardless of which system's terminal initiates a PTT group call request, the negotiated final decision-making system makes the decision. Only one voice call is forwarded between half-duplex systems.
[0124] Intelligent interconnection with external systems: Scenario A: Interconnection with the provincial fire brigade's full-duplex video conferencing system;
[0125] Interconnection Setup: The interconnection module of this system platform interfaces with the headquarters' video conferencing system via the SIP protocol.
[0126] Dynamic adaptation:
[0127] When the system is in full-duplex mode, both sides' voices are mixed in both directions. The conversations between the on-site team members and the discussions of the headquarters commanders blend together, creating the effect of a large joint meeting.
[0128] When the on-site commander presses the PTT button, the system switches to half-duplex mode. The interconnect module immediately blocks all background audio streams from the brigade's conference system, pushing only the on-site commander's (HD1) instructions to the brigade system. This ensures that when critical instructions are issued, brigade leaders hear clean, authoritative on-site instructions, rather than noisy conference discussions.
[0129] Scenario B: Interconnection with the public security 350MHz traditional narrowband digital trunking system
[0130] Interconnection Setup: This system platform establishes a connection with a designated call group (such as a field joint command group) within the public security narrowband system via a radio interconnection gateway. Both parties agree in advance that the PTT (Public Telephone Trial) decision-making authority rests with this system platform.
[0131] Dynamic adaptation and resource optimization:
[0132] Normally, this system operates in full-duplex mode. The interconnect module does not forward the voice conversations of internal team members to the narrowband channel, thus avoiding the long-term and ineffective occupation of the public security's valuable narrowband wireless resources.
[0133] When a public security commander needs to initiate a cross-system call via their radio, their PTT request is sent to this system platform for judgment via a gateway. Once authorized, this system platform immediately switches itself to half-duplex mode and establishes a single-route voice channel with the public security system.
[0134] When this system is in half-duplex mode (whether triggered internally or externally), only one channel of the authorized party's voice is transmitted between the two systems. For example, when the police commander (HD1) speaks, the voice is encoded and sent to the police radio station through the gateway; when the police commander speaks, the voice is transmitted in reverse. This completely solves the narrowband channel congestion problem caused by the traditional mixed-transmission mode.
[0135] Example 4;
[0136] Based on the foregoing embodiments, Embodiment 4 of the present invention further provides a communication method based on the aforementioned hands-free command and dispatch voice communication system, comprising the following steps:
[0137] The system platform establishes IP connections with multiple terminals and initializes communication groups;
[0138] In the default or set full-duplex mode, full-duplex terminals communicate with each other in full-duplex voice mode, while half-duplex terminals only receive voice from full-duplex communication.
[0139] When any terminal initiates a call via the PTT button and successfully obtains the right to speak, the system platform automatically switches the communication mode to half-duplex mode.
[0140] In half-duplex mode, the speaker transmits voice messages, and the other terminals receive them.
[0141] When a half-duplex call ends, the system platform remains in half-duplex mode until the set duration of the half-duplex call ends, at which point it automatically switches back to full-duplex mode.
[0142] This method addresses the real-time and authoritative requirements of command and dispatch, centered on instructions, while considering resource optimization issues during cross-system interconnection. It retains the efficient command capabilities of half-duplex mode while providing hands-free operation in full-duplex mode; mode switching should be directly triggered by the user's command actions (PTT operation); furthermore, the system should intelligently adapt to other systems to avoid resource waste.
[0143] Although preferred embodiments of the invention have been described, those skilled in the art, upon learning the basic inventive concept, can make other changes and modifications to these embodiments. Therefore, the appended claims are intended to be interpreted as including the preferred embodiments as well as all changes and modifications falling within the scope of the invention.
[0144] Obviously, those skilled in the art can make various modifications and variations to this invention without departing from its spirit and scope. Therefore, if these modifications and variations fall within the scope of the claims of this invention and their equivalents, this invention also intends to include these modifications and variations.
