The vehicle display device 19 displays various information via the touch panel 13. In this embodiment, the vehicle display device 19 displays a recommendation screen G that recommends content that can be distributed by the content distribution server 2; in other words, it displays a recommendation screen G that recommends content that vehicle 1 can utilize. Furthermore, the vehicle display device 19 outputs the content selected in the recommendation screen G to vehicle 1.
[0037] Vehicle 1 is equipped with a communication device 20. The communication device 20 has hardware such as wireless communication circuits that conform to the prescribed communication standards, and communicates with a content distribution server 2 connected to the network NW.
[0038] [1-2. Structure of the vehicle display device]
[0039] Next, refer to Figure 2 The structure of the vehicle display device 19 will be explained.
[0040] Figure 2 This is a diagram showing the structure of the vehicle display device 19.
[0041] The vehicle display device 19 is connected to the touch panel 13, speaker 14, camera 15, camera 17, camera 18, communication device 20, and gear position sensor 21. Furthermore, the devices connected to the vehicle display device 19 are not limited to these devices; other types of devices can also be connected.
[0042] The touch panel 13 displays various information under the control of the vehicle display device 19.
[0043] The speaker 14 outputs various sounds under the control of the vehicle display device 19.
[0044] Cameras 15, 17, and 18 take pictures at a predetermined interval and output the pictures to the vehicle display device 19.
[0045] The communication device 20 communicates with the vehicle display device 19 and the content distribution server 2.
[0046] The gear position sensor 21 detects the gear position of the gear shift lever 16 on the vehicle 1. The gear position is, for example, P (Park) for parking, R (Reverse) and N (Neutral) for reversing, and D (Drive) for driving.
[0047] The vehicle display device 19 includes a processor 100 such as a CPU (Central Processing Unit) and an MPU (Microprocessor Unit), a memory 110, and interface circuits for connecting other devices and sensors.
[0048] Memory 110 is an example of a "storage unit".
[0049] Memory 110 is a storage device for storing programs and data. Memory 110 stores data processed by the first application program 111, the second application program 112, the third application program 113, the control program 114, the crew database 115, and the processor 100. Memory 110 has non-volatile storage areas. Alternatively, memory 110 may also have volatile storage areas, constituting the working area of the processor 100. Memory 110 may be constructed, for example, of ROM (Read-Only Memory) or RAM (Random Access Memory).
[0050] Control program 114 is an example of a "program".
[0051] First App 111 is an application for distributing content using a content distribution source.
[0052] The second app 112 is an application for distributing content using a different content distribution source than the first app 111.
[0053] The third app 113 is an application for distributing content using a different content distribution source than the first app 111 and the second app 112.
[0054] Control program 114 is a program that enables processor 100 to function as a functional unit, as described later.
[0055] The occupant database 115 is a database with one record R for each occupant P. A record R contains facial feature information J1, occupant identification information J2, and one or more preference information J3. This record R is created in advance and registered in the occupant database 115. Additionally, in record R, there is preference information J3 for each category of content preferred by occupant P. The types of content will be described later.
[0056] Facial feature information J1 represents the facial feature information of occupant P. Facial feature information consists of multiple items such as the position of feature points of the eyes, the position of feature points of the nose, the position of feature points of the mouth, and the size of the facial region.
[0057] Occupant identification information J2 is information used to identify occupant P, such as information indicating name, information indicating address in family structure, information indicating uniquely assigned number, etc.
[0058] Preference information J3 represents the content preferences of passenger P. Preference information J3 also represents the types of content that passenger P prefers. Furthermore, preference information J3 also represents the types of content that one or more passengers P prefers.
[0059] The content categories include movies, moving images, still images, and music.
[0060] Content type is a more detailed classification than content category. For example, if it's film, the content type could be action film, adventure film, animated film, documentary film, horror film, etc. Similarly, if it's music, the content type could be rock, lig, phoenix, transformer, etc. Furthermore, if it's moving images, the content type could be a sending system, product introduction system, entertainment system, reading system, etc. Finally, if it's still images, the content type could be Western painting, Japanese painting, etc.
[0061] The processor 100 functions as a first content output unit 101 by reading and executing the first APP 111 stored in the memory 110.
[0062] The first content output unit 101 receives content from the content distribution source corresponding to the first APP 111 from the content distribution server 2 via the communication device 20, and outputs the received content through at least one of the touch panel 13 and the speaker 14.
[0063] The processor 100 functions as a second content output unit 102 by reading and executing the second APP 112 stored in the memory 110.
[0064] The second content output unit 102 receives content from the content distribution source corresponding to the second APP 112 from the content distribution server 2 via the communication device 20, and outputs the received content through at least one of the touch panel 13 and the speaker 14.
[0065] The processor 100 functions as a third content output unit 103 by reading and executing the third APP 113 stored in the memory 110.
[0066] The third content output unit 103 receives content from the content distribution source corresponding to the third APP 113 from the content distribution server 2 via the communication device 20, and outputs the received content through at least one of the touch panel 13 and the speaker 14.
[0067] Hereinafter, without distinguishing between the first content output unit 101, the second content output unit 102, and the third content output unit 103, the reference numeral "104" will be used to refer to "content output unit 104".
[0068] The content output unit 104 receives content information along with the content. The content information includes information indicating the type of content, information indicating the content category, and image data from the icon image IC. The icon image IC is an image used to select the content to be output, using drawings, photographs, or text to indicate the subject of the content (e.g., a title).
[0069] The processor 100 functions as the occupant detection unit 105, the driving status detection unit 106, and the display control unit 107 by reading and executing the control program 114 stored in the memory 110.
[0070] [1-3. Structure of the occupant detection unit]
[0071] The occupant inspection department 105 inspects the occupant P of vehicle 1.
[0072] In this embodiment, the occupant detection unit 105 detects occupant P based on images received from cameras 15, 17, and 18. For each received image, the occupant detection unit 105 detects facial images using methods such as pattern matching. The occupant detection unit 105 detects occupant P by detecting facial images.
[0073] When the occupant detection unit 105 can detect an image of a face, that is, when it can detect an occupant P, it calculates facial feature quantities for each detected occupant P. Furthermore, the calculation of facial feature quantities is based, for example, on the size of the face image in the captured image, the positions of feature points of the eyes, nose, and mouth in the face image, etc.
[0074] When the occupant detection unit 105 detects an occupant P in vehicle 1, it detects the seating position of each occupant P.
[0075] For example, if the occupant detection unit 105 detects an image of a face in the image captured by the camera 15 on the left side of the center, it will detect the seat position of the occupant P corresponding to the image of that face as the driver's seat 10A.
[0076] Additionally, for example, if the occupant detection unit 105 detects an image of a face in the image captured by the camera 15 on the right side of the center, it will detect the seat position of the occupant P corresponding to the image of that face as the front passenger seat 10B.
[0077] Additionally, for example, if the occupant detection unit 105 detects an image of a face from the image captured by the camera 17, it will detect the seat position of the occupant P corresponding to the image of the face as the right rear seat 10C.
[0078] Additionally, for example, if the occupant detection unit 105 detects an image of a face from the image captured by the camera 18, it will detect the seat position of the occupant P corresponding to the image of the face as the left rear seat 10D.
[0079] The occupant detection unit 105 detects the status of each occupant P at a predetermined period.
[0080] In this embodiment, the occupant detection unit 105 detects whether the occupant is not looking at the touch panel 13 in a predetermined state. Examples of such predetermined states include being asleep or looking at anything other than the touch panel 13. The occupant detection unit 105 detects the gaze or eye state of the detected occupant P at predetermined intervals using pattern matching and other techniques, based on images captured by cameras 15, 17, and 18. Furthermore, the occupant detection unit 105 detects the occupant P as not looking at the touch panel 13 if the detected gaze is not directed towards the touch panel 13 for a predetermined period or longer, or if the detected eye state of the occupant P is closed for a predetermined period or longer. For each camera's captured image, the orientation of the touch panel 13 is determined, and the occupant detection unit 105 performs the aforementioned detection by checking whether the direction of the occupant P's gaze matches the direction of the touch panel 13.
[0081] [1-4. Structure of the Driving Status Detection Unit]
[0082] The driving status detection unit 106 detects the driving status of the vehicle 1. The driving status detection unit 106 detects whether the vehicle 1 is driving or not. For example, if the gear position sensor 21 detects R (reverse), N (neutral), or D (drive), the driving status detection unit 106 detects that the vehicle 1 is driving. Conversely, if the gear position sensor 21 detects P (park), the driving status detection unit 106 detects that the vehicle 1 is not driving.
[0083] [1-5. Structure of the display control unit]
[0084] The display control unit 107 displays a recommendation screen G via the touch panel 13, suggesting content that can be used within the vehicle 1. Details will be described later. The recommendation screen G displays an icon image IC for each piece of content. Furthermore, a piece of content may refer to, for example, a piece of music, a movie, a moving image, a still image, etc.
[0085] In the case described later, the display control unit 107 displays the first recommended screen G1 as the recommended screen G via the touch panel 13.
[0086] Figure 3 This is an example of the first recommended screen G1.
[0087] Figure 3 In the diagram, the upward direction is represented by "up," the downward direction by "down," the leftward direction by "left," and the rightward direction by "right." These four directions correspond to the four directions of up, down, left, and right in the state of occupant P in the visual recommendation screen G.
[0088] The first recommendation screen G1 is a screen displaying recommended content for all occupants P detected by the occupant detection unit 105. That is, the first recommendation screen G1 is not a screen displaying recommended content for each individual occupant P detected by the occupant detection unit 105.
[0089] The first recommendation screen G1 contains first content association information J4 for each content distribution source. The first content association information J4 includes name information J41 and a summary display area A1.
[0090] Name information J41 is information that indicates the name of the content distribution source.
[0091] The overview display area A1 is an area that displays an overview of the content distributed by the content distribution source shown in the name information J41, and displays an icon image IC for each piece of content.
[0092] Figure 3 The overview display area A1 shown is a structure that displays multiple icon image ICs in one row along the left and right direction, but the overview display area A1 can also be a structure that displays multiple icon image ICs in multiple rows along the left and right direction. In addition, the overview display area A1 can also be configured to display other icon image ICs that were not displayed before the specified touch operation was performed when a specified touch operation (flick operation, swipe operation) was performed in the overview display area A1.
[0093] in addition, Figure 3 The first recommended screen G1 shown is configured to recommend content from three content distribution sources within a single screen. However, the screen structure of the first recommended screen G1 is not limited to... Figure 3The structure is shown. For example, the first recommendation screen G1 can also consist of multiple screens, recommending content from one or more content distribution sources in one screen. In this example, if a specified touch operation (swipe operation, slide operation) is performed in an area outside the overview display area A1 in the first recommendation screen G1, the first recommendation screen G1 will switch the screen recommending the content to a screen recommending content from other content distribution sources.
[0094] in addition, Figure 3 The first recommended screen G1 shown illustrates the screen when the first APP 111, the second APP 112, and the third APP 113 are stored in the memory 110. That is, Figure 3 The first recommended screen G1 shown illustrates the scenario where three applications for utilizing content are installed in memory 110. Assuming four or more applications are installed in memory 110, as... Figure 3 As shown, the first recommendation screen G1 can also be configured to recommend content from four or more content distribution sources in a single screen. Furthermore, assuming four or more applications are installed in the memory 110, the first recommendation screen G1 can also consist of multiple screens, recommending content from one or more content distribution sources in a single screen. In this configuration, if a specified touch operation (flick or swipe) is performed in an area outside the overview display area A1 on the first recommendation screen G1, the first recommendation screen G1 will switch from recommending content to recommending content from other content distribution sources.
[0095] Returning to the description of the display control unit 107, the situation where the display control unit 107 displays the first recommended screen G1 will be explained.
[0096] For each passenger P detected by the passenger detection unit 105, the display control unit 107 determines whether the preference information J3 corresponding to passenger P is stored in the memory 110.
[0097] In detail, the display control unit 107 of this embodiment obtains facial feature data from the occupant detection unit 105 for each occupant P, and determines for each occupant P whether there is a record R containing facial feature data with a consistency rate of at least a threshold with the obtained facial feature data. Furthermore, if the display control unit 107 determines that the record R exists, it determines that preference information J3 corresponding to occupant P is stored; if it determines that the record R does not exist, it determines that preference information J3 corresponding to occupant P is not stored.
[0098] Furthermore, if the occupant detection unit 105 detects that one of the occupants P is an occupant P whose preference information J3 is not stored in the memory 110, the display control unit 107 displays the first recommendation screen G1 via the touch panel 13.
[0099] When displaying the first recommended screen G1, the display control unit 107 performs the following processing for each content distribution source.
[0100] That is, the display control unit 107 selects multiple contents received by the content output unit 104. The selection is random. Next, for all the selected contents, the display control unit 107 obtains icon images IC from the content information. Then, the display control unit 107 generates first content association information J4, which includes a list display area A1 with the obtained icon images IC arranged and name information J41, and includes the generated first content association information J4 in the first recommendation screen G1.
[0101] In the case described later, the display control unit 107 displays the second recommended screen G2 via the touch panel 13.
[0102] Figure 4 This is an example of the second recommended screen G2.
[0103] Figure 4 In the diagram, the upward direction is represented by "up," the downward direction by "down," the leftward direction by "left," and the rightward direction by "right." These four directions correspond to the four cardinal directions of occupant P in the recommended visual screen G.
[0104] The second recommendation screen G2 is a screen showing the recommended content for occupant P, which is detected by occupant detection unit 105 and whose preference information J3 is stored in memory 110.
[0105] The second recommendation screen G2 is based on occupant P detected by occupant detection unit 105 and whose preference information J3 is stored in memory 110, and includes second content association information J5. The second content association information J5 includes recommendation object information J51 and a summary display area A2.
[0106] The recommended object information J51 is information about the person whose content is displayed in the overview display area A2 corresponding to the recommendation, including occupant identification information J2.
[0107] The overview display area A2 is an area that displays recommended content from a content distribution source, and displays an icon image IC for each piece of content.
[0108] Figure 4The overview display area A2 shown is a structure that displays multiple icon image ICs in one row along the left and right direction, but the overview display area A2 can also be a structure that displays multiple icon image ICs in multiple rows along the left and right direction. In addition, the overview display area A2 can also be configured to display other icon image ICs that were not displayed before the specified touch operation was performed when a specified touch operation (flick operation, swipe operation) was performed in the overview display area A2.
[0109] The second recommendation screen G2 in this embodiment displays content for each occupant P according to each content distribution source. That is, when there are multiple content distribution sources, the second recommendation screen G2 in this embodiment consists of multiple screens, displaying the content of one content distribution source in one screen. Furthermore, if a predetermined touch operation (flick operation, swipe operation) is performed in an area outside the overview display area A2 in the second recommendation screen G2, the second recommendation screen G2 switches the screen recommending content to a screen recommending content from other content distribution sources.
[0110] If the occupant detection unit 105 detects multiple occupants P, the second recommendation screen G2 displays content based on the content display priority. The content display priority refers to the priority of the displayed content. The content display priority is set for each occupant P. The content display priority is set based on the occupant P's seating position and the vehicle 1's driving status.
[0111] When vehicle 1 is not in motion, the display priority of the content is set as follows: The display priority for content for occupant P in the driver's seat 10A is set higher than the display priority for content for occupant P in the front passenger seat 10B. Furthermore, the display priority for content for occupant P in the front passenger seat 10B is set higher than the display priority for content for occupant P in the rear seats (at least one of the right rear seat 10C and the left rear seat 10D).
[0112] When vehicle 1 is in motion, the display priority of content is set as follows: The display priority for content for occupant P in the driver's seat 10A is set lower than the display priority for content for occupants P in the front passenger seat 10B and rear seats. Conversely, the display priority for content for occupant P in the front passenger seat 10B is set higher than the display priority for content for occupants P in the rear seats.
[0113] The second recommended screen G2 is a screen associated with a content distribution source. The higher the display priority of the content (e.g., occupant P), the higher it is displayed. Here, "displayed at the top" means displayed vertically at the top of the recommended screen G.
[0114] For example, such as Figure 1 As shown, when occupants P1, P2, P3, and P4 are detected and vehicle 1 is not in motion, regarding the second recommendation screen G2, in a screen associated with a content distribution source, the content for occupant P1 is displayed above the content for other occupants P, and the content for occupant P2 is displayed above the content for occupants P3 and P4. That is, in this example, in the second recommendation screen G2, the second content association information J5 for occupant P1 is displayed above the second content association information J5 for other occupants P, and the second content association information J5 for occupant P2 is displayed above the second content association information J5 for occupants P3 and P4.
[0115] Additionally, for example, such as Figure 1 As shown, when occupants P1, P2, P3, and P4 are detected and vehicle 1 is in motion, regarding the second recommendation screen G2, in a screen associated with a certain content distribution source, the content for occupant P2 is displayed above the content for occupant P3, and the content for occupant P1 is displayed below the content for the other occupants P. That is, in this example, the second recommendation screen G2 displays the second content association information J5 of occupant P2 above the second content association information J5 of occupant P3, and displays the second content association information J5 of occupant P1 below the second content association information J5 of the other occupants P.
[0116] Returning to the description of the display control unit 107, the situation where the display control unit 107 displays the second recommended screen G2 will be explained.
[0117] When the memory 110 stores the preference information J3 of all passengers P detected by the passenger detection unit 105, the display control unit 107 displays the second recommendation screen G2 via the touch panel 13.
[0118] In addition, after displaying the first recommendation screen G1, if the occupant P whose preference information J3 is not stored in the memory 110 is in a state where he / she is not viewing the touch panel 13, the display control unit 107 displays the second recommendation screen G2 through the touch panel 13.
[0119] When displaying the second recommended screen G2, the display control unit 107 sets the display priority for the content of the passenger P detected by the passenger detection unit 105 and whose preference information J3 is stored in the memory 110.
[0120] Next, when setting the display priority of the content, the display control unit 107 performs the following processing according to each passenger P detected by the passenger detection unit 105 and whose preference information J3 is stored in the memory 110.
[0121] That is, the display control unit 107 obtains facial feature data from the occupant detection unit 105, determines from the occupant database 115 a record R containing facial feature data with a consistency rate of at least a threshold with the obtained facial feature data, and reads preference information J3 from the determined occupant database 115. Next, for each content distribution source, the display control unit 107, referring to the content information received by the content output unit 104, determines one or more pieces of content corresponding to the type of content contained in the read preference information J3, and designates the determined content as the display object. Next, for each content distribution source, the display control unit 107 obtains the icon image IC of the content to be displayed from the content information. The display control unit 107 obtains occupant identification information J2 from the determined record R. Then, for each content distribution source, the display control unit 107 uses the obtained icon image IC and occupant identification information J2 to generate second content association information J5.
[0122] When the display control unit 107 generates second content association information J5 for each passenger P detected by the passenger detection unit 105 and whose preference information J3 is stored in the memory 110, it generates a second recommendation screen G2 with the second content association information J5 arranged according to the set content display priority.
[0123] [1-5. Operation of the vehicle display device]
[0124] Next, refer to Figure 5 The operation of the vehicle display device 19 related to content recommendations will be explained.
[0125] Figure 5 This is a flowchart illustrating the operation of the vehicle display device 19.
[0126] The display control unit 107 determines whether to recommend content (step SA1). For example, if occupant P inputs a list of indicated content on the touch panel 13, the display control unit 107 makes an affirmative determination in step SA1.
[0127] If the display control unit 107 determines that no content recommendation will be made (step SA1: No), it will perform the determination in step SA1 again.
[0128] On the other hand, if the display control unit 107 determines that content recommendation is to be made (step SA1: Yes), the occupant detection unit 105 detects the occupant P riding in the vehicle 1 (step SA2).
[0129] Next, the driving status detection unit 106 detects the driving status of vehicle 1 (step SA3).
[0130] Alternatively, the processing order of steps SA2 and SA3 can be reversed. Also, steps SA2 and SA3 can be executed simultaneously.
[0131] Next, the display control unit 107 determines whether the memory 110 stores the preference information J3 of all passengers P detected in step SA2 (step SA4).
[0132] If the display control unit 107 determines that the memory 110 does not store the preference information J3 of all passengers P detected in step SA2 (step SA4: no), it displays the first recommendation screen G1 via the touch panel 13 (step SA5).
[0133] Furthermore, in the first recommendation screen G1, when an icon image IC is selected via touch operation, the content output unit 104 outputs the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC. That is, if the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC is distributed by the first APP 111, the first content output unit 101 outputs the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC. Additionally, if the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC is distributed by the second APP 112, the second content output unit 102 outputs the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC. Furthermore, if the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC is distributed by the third APP 113, the third content output unit 103 outputs the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC.
[0134] On the other hand, if the display control unit 107 determines that the memory 110 stores the preference information J3 of all passengers P detected in step SA2 (step SA4: yes), it displays the second recommendation screen G2 through the touch panel 13 (step SA6).
[0135] In addition, in the second recommended screen G2, when an icon image IC is selected by touch operation, the content output unit 104 outputs the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC.
[0136] Next, refer to Figure 6 The operation of the vehicle display device 19 related to content recommendations will be explained.
[0137] Figure 6 This is a flowchart illustrating the operation of the vehicle display device 19. Figure 6 The action shown is triggered by the display of the first recommended screen G1 on the touch panel 13.
[0138] The display control unit 107 determines whether the state of occupant P, whose preference information J3 is not stored in the memory 110, is a state where the touch panel 13 is not viewed (step SB1). The display control unit 107 performs the determination in step SB1 based on the detection result of the occupant detection unit 105.
[0139] If the display control unit 107 determines that the state of the occupant P, whose preference information J3 is not stored in the memory 110, is not the state specified by not viewing the touch panel 13 (step SB1: no), it performs the determination of step SB1 again.
[0140] On the other hand, if the display control unit 107 determines that the occupant P whose preference information J3 is not stored in the memory 110 is in the state of not viewing the touch panel 13 (step SB1: yes), it displays the second recommendation screen G2 through the touch panel 13 (step SB2).
[0141] [2. Second Implementation]
[0142] Next, the second embodiment will be described.
[0143] In the description of the second embodiment, the same reference numerals are used for the same constituent elements as in the first embodiment, and detailed descriptions are omitted as appropriate.
[0144] Figure 7 This is a diagram illustrating the structure of the content distribution system 1000 according to the second embodiment.
[0145] Compare Figure 7 and Figure 1 It is known that the vehicle 1 of the second embodiment is equipped with touch panels 22, 23, and 24.
[0146] In addition, comparison Figure 7 and Figure 1 It is known that the vehicle 1 in the second embodiment is equipped with speakers 25, 26, 27, and 28.
[0147] Touch panels 22, 23, and 24 are examples of the "display section".
[0148] Touch panels 22, 23, and 24 are each formed by overlapping or integrating a display panel for displaying text and images with a touch sensor for detecting contact with the display panel. Touch panel 22 is located in the instrument panel 12 on the side closer to the passenger seat 10B than touch panel 13. Touch panel 23 is located at a position visible to the occupant P seated in the right rear seat 10C, such as behind the driver's seat 10A. Touch panel 24 is located at a position visible to the occupant P seated in the left rear seat 10D, such as behind the passenger seat 10B.
[0149] Speaker 25 outputs sound to occupant P seated in the driver's seat 10A. Speaker 26 outputs sound to occupant P seated in the front passenger seat 10B. Speaker 27 outputs sound to occupant P seated in the right rear seat 10C. Speaker 28 outputs sound to occupant P seated in the left rear seat 10D. Furthermore, the placement of speakers 25, 26, 27, and 28 is not limited to… Figure 7 Any location that can output sound to the occupant P sitting in the corresponding seat is acceptable.
[0150] Figure 8 This is a diagram showing the structure of the vehicle display device 19 according to the second embodiment.
[0151] Compare Figure 8 and Figure 2 It is known that the vehicle display device 19 is connected to the touch panels 22, 23, and 24, and to the speakers 25, 26, 27, and 28.
[0152] In addition, comparison Figure 8 and Figure 2 It can be seen that memory 110 stores control program 114A to replace control program 114.
[0153] Control procedure 114A is an example of a "procedure".
[0154] Control program 114A is a program that enables processor 100 to function as occupant detection unit 105, driving status detection unit 106, and display control unit 107A.
[0155] The display control unit 107A displays the recommended screen G through each of the touch panels 13, 22, 23, and 24.
[0156] When the occupant detection unit 105 detects that one of the occupants P is a occupant P whose preference information J3 is not stored in the memory 110, the display control unit 107A displays the first recommendation screen G1 through the touch panels 13, 22, 23, and 24 respectively.
[0157] When the memory 110 stores the preference information J3 of all occupants P detected by the occupant detection unit 105, the display control unit 107A displays a second recommendation screen G2 on each of the touch panels 13, 22, 23, and 24. In this case, the display control unit 107A displays the second recommendation screen G2 based on the display priority of the content set for each touch panel 13, 22, 23, and 24.
[0158] In detail, the display control unit 107A sets the display priority for content intended for occupant P (hereinafter referred to as "target occupant") seated in the corresponding seat to be higher than the display priority for content intended for occupants P who are different from the target occupant, for each touch panel 13, 22, 23, and 24. Then, the display control unit 107A displays content for each touch panel 13, 22, 23, and 24 based on the set content display priority.
[0159] The display control unit 107A prioritizes the display of content set by the occupant P seated in the driver's seat 10A over the display of content set by occupants P seated in seats other than the driver's seat 10A on the touch panel 13. Thus, for example, as... Figure 1 As shown, when occupants P1, P2, P3, and P4 are detected, in the second recommendation screen G2 displayed on the touch panel 13, in a screen related to a certain content distribution source, the content for occupant P1 is displayed above the content for other occupants P, and the content for occupant P2 is displayed above the content for occupants P3 and P4.
[0160] The display control unit 107A prioritizes the display of content set by the occupant P seated in the front passenger seat 10B over the display of content set by occupants P seated in other seats besides the front passenger seat 10B. Thus, for example, as... Figure 1 As shown, when occupants P1, P2, P3, and P4 are detected, in the second recommendation screen G2 displayed on the touch panel 22, in a screen related to a certain content distribution source, the content for occupant P2 is displayed above the content for other occupants P, and the content for occupant P1 is displayed above the content for occupants P3 and P4.
[0161] The display control unit 107A prioritizes the display of content set by the occupant P3 seated in the right rear seat 10C over the display of content set by occupants P in seats other than the right rear seat 10C on the touch panel 23. Thus, for example, as... Figure 1 As shown, when occupants P1, P2, P3, and P4 are detected, in the second recommendation screen G2 displayed on the touch panel 23, in a screen related to a certain content distribution source, the content for occupant P3 is displayed above the content for other occupants P, the content for occupant P1 is displayed above the content for occupants P2 and P4, and the content for occupant P2 is displayed above the content for occupant P4.
[0162] The display control unit 107A prioritizes the display of content set by the occupant P4 seated in the left rear seat 10D over the display of content set by occupants P in seats other than the left rear seat 10D on the touch panel 24. Thus, for example, as... Figure 1 As shown, when occupants P1, P2, P3, and P4 are detected, in the second recommendation screen G2 displayed on the touch panel 24, in a screen related to a certain content distribution source, the content for occupant P4 is displayed above the content for other occupants P, the content for occupant P1 is displayed above the content for occupants P2 and P3, and the content for occupant P2 is displayed above the content for occupant P3.
[0163] In addition, the display control unit 107A can also set the display priority of the content for each touch panel 13, 22, 23, 24 as follows. That is, the display control unit 107A can also set the display priority of the content set by other passengers P that have similar preference information J3 to the target passenger stored in the memory 110 to be second only to the display priority of the content set by the target passenger.
[0164] In this embodiment, the preference information J3 similar to the preference information J3 of the target occupant refers to preference information J3 whose content is of the same type and whose displayed content type has a specified number (e.g., more than two) of the same type as the content displayed in the preference information J3 of the target occupant.
[0165] For example, such as Figure 1 As shown, when occupants P1, P2, P3, and P4 are detected, and the preference information J3 of occupant P3 is similar to that of occupant P4, the display control unit 107A adjusts the display priority of the content set for occupant P3 to be second only to the display priority of the content set for occupant P4 on the touch panel 24. Therefore, in the second recommendation screen G2 displayed on the touch panel 24, in a screen related to a certain content distribution source, the content for occupant P4 is displayed above the content for other occupants P, the content for occupant P3 is displayed above the content for occupants P1 and P2, and the content for occupant P1 is displayed above the content for occupant P2.
[0166] Next, quote Figure 5 The operation of the vehicle display device 19 in this embodiment will be explained.
[0167] When performing steps SA1 and SA2, the vehicle display device 19 skips step SA3 and proceeds to step SA4, or to step SA5 or SA6. In step SA6 of this embodiment, as described above, the display control unit 107A displays the recommended screen G through each of the touch panels 13, 22, 23, and 24.
[0168] Furthermore, quoting Figure 6 The operation of the vehicle display device 19 in this embodiment will be explained.
[0169] When the vehicle display device 19 begins displaying the first recommended screen G1, it performs step SB1. If the determination in step SB1 is positive, it performs step SB2. In step SB2 of this embodiment, as described above, the display control unit 107A displays the recommended screen G through touch panels 13, 22, 23, and 24 respectively.
[0170] Furthermore, in the recommended screen G displayed on the touch panel 13, when an icon image IC is selected by touch operation, the content output unit 104 outputs the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC through at least one of the touch panel 13 and the speaker 25.
[0171] Furthermore, in the recommended screen G displayed on the touch panel 22, when an icon image IC is selected by touch operation, the content output unit 104 outputs content corresponding to the selected icon image IC through at least one of the touch panel 22 and the speaker 26.
[0172] Furthermore, in the recommended screen G displayed on the touch panel 23, when an icon image IC is selected by touch operation, the content output unit 104 outputs the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC through at least one of the touch panel 23 and the speaker 27.
[0173] Furthermore, in the recommended screen G displayed on the touch panel 24, when an icon image IC is selected by touch operation, the content output unit 104 outputs the content corresponding to the selected icon image IC through at least one of the touch panel 24 and the speaker 28.
[0174] [3. Other Implementation Methods]
[0175] The above-described implementation method is merely one approach and can be arbitrarily modified and applied.
[0176] In the above embodiment, the case of vehicle 1, which carries 4 people, is illustrated. However, the number of people that vehicle 1 can carry is not limited to 4.
[0177] In the above embodiments, a four-wheeled vehicle 1 is illustrated, but the number of wheels of vehicle 1 is not limited to four.
[0178] In the above embodiments, touch panels 13, 22, 23, and 24 are exemplified as "display units," but the "display unit" is not limited to touch panels and may also be a display that does not have touch operation function but can be operated by operation keys or the like.
[0179] In the above-described embodiments, the vehicle display device 19 does not have a "display section" structure, but the vehicle display device 19 may also have a "display section" structure.
[0180] In the above implementation, the icon image IC is arranged in the left-right direction of the recommended screen G, but the arrangement direction of the icon image IC is not limited to the left-right direction, it can also be the up-down direction.
[0181] In the above embodiment, the driving state detection unit 106 is configured to detect the driving state of the vehicle 1 based on the detection result of the gear position sensor 21. In other embodiments, a vehicle speed sensor may be provided in the vehicle 1, and the driving state detection unit 106 may detect the driving state of the vehicle 1 through the vehicle speed sensor.
[0182] In the above-described embodiment, the structure of occupant P is detected from the images captured by cameras 15, 17, and 18. In other embodiments, the occupant detection unit 105 may also detect occupant P using methods other than the images captured by cameras 15, 17, and 18. For example, if someone enters the vehicle display device 19 while in the vehicle, the occupant detection unit 105 may detect occupant P based on this input. Furthermore, in other embodiments, if a microphone for collecting the sound of occupant P is installed in vehicle 1, the occupant detection unit 105 may detect occupant P based on the quantity and type of sound collected by the microphone. Additionally, in other embodiments, the detection of occupant P, who is seated in the driver's seat 10A, may also be performed using the FOB key.
[0183] In the above-described embodiment, the seat position of occupant P is detected based on images captured by cameras 15, 17, and 18. In other embodiments, the occupant detection unit 105 may also detect the seat position of occupant P using methods other than images captured by cameras 15, 17, and 18. For example, if someone inputs information about who is sitting in which seat onto the vehicle display device 19 while in the vehicle, the occupant detection unit 105 may detect occupant P based on this input. Furthermore, in other embodiments, the seat position of occupant P may also be detected based on the occupant P's voice and the location of the microphone that most strongly captures the occupant P's voice.
[0184] In the above-described embodiment, the state of occupant P is detected based on images captured by cameras 15, 17, and 18. In other embodiments, the occupant detection unit 105 may also detect the state of occupant P using methods other than images captured by cameras 15, 17, and 18. For example, if the vehicle display device 19 periodically receives biological data of occupant P, the occupant detection unit 105 may also detect the state of occupant P based on the biological data of occupant P.
[0185] In the above embodiment, three applications for utilizing content are installed on the vehicle display device 19. In other embodiments, the number of applications installed on the vehicle display device 19 may be two or less, or four or more.
[0186] The processor 100 can consist of multiple processors or a single processor. The processor 100 can also be hardware programmed to implement the aforementioned functionalities. In this case, these processors may be, for example, ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) or FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays).
[0187] in addition, Figure 1 The structure of each part of the vehicle 1 shown is an example, and the specific installation method is not particularly limited. That is, it is not necessarily necessary to install hardware corresponding to each part separately; of course, it is also possible to configure the vehicle to implement the functions of each part by executing a program through a processor. In addition, in the above embodiment, a part of the function implemented by software can be made into hardware, or a part of the function implemented by hardware can be implemented by software.
[0188] in addition, Figure 5 as well as Figure 6 The steps shown are divided according to the main processing content, and the present invention is not limited to the method or name of the division of processing units. Depending on the processing content, it may be divided into more step units. Alternatively, a single step unit may contain more processes. Furthermore, the order of these steps may be appropriately replaced without affecting the spirit of the invention.
[0189] Furthermore, when implementing the control method for the vehicle display device 19 described above using the processor 100, the program executed by the processor 100 can also be configured using a recording medium or a transmission medium for transmitting the program. That is, the control program 114 can also be implemented with the control program 114 recorded on a removable information recording medium. Examples of information recording media include magnetic recording media such as hard disks, optical recording media such as CDs, USB (Universal Serial Bus) memory, SSD (Solid State Drive) and other semiconductor storage devices, but other recording media can also be used.
[0190] [4. Structure supported by the above embodiments]
[0191] The above implementation supports the following structures.
[0192] (Structure 1)
[0193] A vehicle display device includes: a display control unit that recommends content by displaying content usable in the vehicle through a display unit installed in the vehicle; an occupant detection unit that detects occupants riding in the vehicle; and a storage unit that stores preference information showing the content preferences for the occupants of the vehicle, wherein the display control unit adjusts the display mode of the content according to whether the storage unit stores the preference information corresponding to the occupant detected by the occupant detection unit.
[0194] According to the vehicle display device of Structure 1, the content display method varies depending on whether or not the vehicle stores preference information for the detected occupants. Therefore, it is possible to recommend content to vehicle occupants who may not have clear preferences. Thus, it is possible to appropriately recommend content to vehicle occupants.
[0195] (Structure 2)
[0196] According to the vehicle display device of structure 1, when the occupant detection unit detects multiple occupants and the storage unit stores the preference information of all the occupants detected by the occupant detection unit, the display control unit causes the content based on the corresponding preference information to be displayed for each occupant detected by the occupant detection unit.
[0197] According to the vehicle display device of structure 2, when all occupants of the vehicle can understand the content preferences, content based on preference information can be recommended for each occupant, thus allowing for the recommendation of appropriate content for each occupant.
[0198] (Structure 3)
[0199] According to the vehicle display device of structure 2, the occupant detection unit detects the seating position of each detected occupant, and the display control unit sets a display priority for the content detected by the occupant detection unit based on the seating position of the occupant detected by the occupant detection unit, and displays the content based on the set display priority of the content.
[0200] According to the vehicle display device of Structure 3, by setting the display priority of content based on the seating position of the occupants, it is possible to recommend content taking into account the seating position of the occupants. Therefore, it is possible to recommend content more appropriately to the occupants of the vehicle.
[0201] (Structure 4)
[0202] According to the vehicle display device of structure 3, the vehicle display device includes a driving state detection unit for detecting the driving state of the vehicle, and the display control unit sets the display priority of the content based on the driving state of the vehicle detected by the driving state detection unit.
[0203] Depending on the vehicle's driving status, the occupants most likely to use the content may differ. For example, when the driver is driving, the driver is less likely to use the content, while other occupants are more likely to use it. Therefore, according to the vehicle display device of structure 4, by setting the content display priority based on the vehicle's driving status, content can be recommended considering the vehicle's driving status, thus allowing content to be recommended to occupants most likely to use it. Therefore, content can be recommended more appropriately to the vehicle's occupants.
[0204] (Structure 5)
[0205] According to the vehicle display device of structure 3, in the vehicle, a display unit is provided for each seat, and the display control unit sets the display priority of the content set for the target occupant who is sitting in the corresponding seat to be higher than the display priority of the content set for the occupant who is different from the target occupant for each display unit, and displays the content based on the set display priority.
[0206] In a vehicle with multiple displays per seat, the occupant using content on a particular display is more likely to be the same occupant seated at that display. Therefore, the vehicle display device in structure 5, by prioritizing the display of content preferred by the target occupant, can recommend content for each display that is matched to the occupant most likely to use the content. Thus, even when displays are arranged per seat, content can be recommended more appropriately to the vehicle's occupants.
[0207] (Structure 6)
[0208] According to the vehicle display device of structure 5, the display control unit sets the display priority of the content set by other occupants, which has similar preference information to the preference information of the target occupant stored in the storage unit, to be second only to the display priority of the content set by the target occupant.
[0209] According to the vehicle display device of structure 6, in addition to the content preferred by the target occupant, it can also display the content preferred by other occupants whose preferences are similar to those of the target occupant. Therefore, it can increase the number of contents recommended to the target occupant, and can also recommend content that the target occupant may like. Furthermore, the target occupant can understand what content other occupants like.
[0210] (Structure 7)
[0211] According to any one of structures 1 to 6, in a vehicle display device, when the occupant detection unit detects multiple occupants and the occupants detected by the occupant detection unit include occupants whose preference information is not stored in the storage unit, the display control unit causes the display of the content for all occupants detected by the occupant detection unit.
[0212] According to the vehicle display device of structure 7, even when the vehicle occupants include occupants whose content preferences are unclear, content applicable to all occupants can be displayed. Therefore, by displaying content to specific occupants, content that occupants whose content preferences are unclear will not be recommended. Thus, even when the vehicle occupants include occupants whose content preferences are unclear, appropriate content can be recommended to the vehicle occupants.
[0213] (Structure 8)
[0214] According to the vehicle display device of structure 7, the display control unit enables the content to be displayed without regard to the preference information.
[0215] According to the vehicle display device of structure 8, it is possible to prevent occupants with unclear content preferences from knowing what kind of content they like. Therefore, even if there are occupants in the vehicle who have unclear content preferences, it is possible to recommend content more appropriately to the occupants.
[0216] (Structure 9)
[0217] According to the vehicle display device of structure 7 or structure 8, wherein the occupant detection unit detects the state of the detected occupants, and when the occupant detection unit detects that the state of the occupant whose preference information is not stored in the storage unit is a predetermined state of not viewing the display unit, the display control unit causes the content based on the corresponding preference information to be displayed for each occupant detected by the occupant detection unit.
[0218] According to the vehicle display device of structure 9, it is possible to appropriately recommend content based on the state of passengers whose preferences are unclear.
[0219] (Structure 10)
[0220] A method for controlling a vehicle display device includes storing preference information for vehicle occupants, showing their preferences for content available in the vehicle; detecting occupants in the vehicle; recommending content by displaying the content on a display unit installed in the vehicle; and, during the display of the content, varying the display method based on whether the preference information corresponding to the detected occupant is stored.
[0221] The control method of the vehicle display device according to structure 10 achieves the same effect as the vehicle display device of structure 1.
[0222] (Structure 11)
[0223] A recording medium recording a program that enables a processor of a vehicle display device to function as a display control unit and an occupant detection unit, the vehicle display device having a storage unit that stores preference information for content available in the vehicle for the occupants of the vehicle, the display control unit recommending content by displaying the content on a display unit installed in the vehicle, the occupant detection unit detecting occupants in the vehicle, and the display control unit adjusting the display method of the content based on whether the storage unit stores the preference information corresponding to the occupant detected by the occupant detection unit.
[0224] According to the procedure of structure 11, it achieves the same effect as the vehicle display device of structure 1.
