[0083] The processor 100 reads and executes the control program 125 stored in the memory 120, and functions as the first communication speed calculation unit 106, the second communication speed calculation unit 107, the occupant detection unit 108, the display control unit 109, and the notification unit 110.
[0084] [1-3. First Communication Speed Calculation Unit]
[0085] The first communication speed calculation unit 106 calculates a first communication speed. The first communication speed refers to the communication speed between the base station 3 and the communication device 25. The first communication speed calculation unit 106 sends calculation data for calculating the first communication speed to the base station 3 via the communication device 25 and receives a response from the base station 3. The first communication speed calculation unit 106 calculates the first communication speed by dividing the amount of data in the response of the calculation data by the time required to receive the response.
[0086] [1-4. Second Communication Speed Calculation Unit]
[0087] The second communication speed calculation unit 107 calculates the second communication speed. The second communication speed is the communication speed required for the display control device 24 to display content, and it is also the communication speed in the communication between the base station 3 and the display control device 24. The second communication speed calculation unit 107 calculates the amount of data received from the base station 3 within a specified period, and calculates the second communication speed by dividing the calculated amount of data by the specified period.
[0088] [1-5. Occupant Inspection Department]
[0089] The occupant inspection department 108 inspects the occupant P of vehicle 1.
[0090] In this embodiment, the occupant detection unit 108 detects occupant P based on images captured from cameras 21, 22, and 23. For each received image, the occupant detection unit 108 detects facial images using methods such as pattern matching. The occupant detection unit 108 detects occupant P by detecting facial images.
[0091] When the occupant detection unit 108 can detect an image of a face, that is, when it can detect an occupant P, it calculates facial feature quantities for each detected occupant P. Furthermore, the calculation of facial feature quantities is based, for example, on the size of the face image in the captured image, the positions of feature points of the eyes, the nose, and the mouth in the face image.
[0092] [1-6. Structure of the display control unit]
[0093] The display control unit 109 controls the content displayed on the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15. Details regarding the display control unit 109 will be explained when describing the operation of the display control device 24.
[0094] [1-7. Notification Department]
[0095] The notification unit 110 notifies the occupant P through information displays on the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15. The content of the notifications from the notification unit 110 and its details will be explained when describing the operation of the display control device 24.
[0096] [1-8. Display control device operation]
[0097] Next, the operation of the display control device 24 will be explained.
[0098] Figure 3 This is a flowchart illustrating the operation of the display control device 24.
[0099] The second communication speed calculation unit 107 determines whether the time for calculating the second communication speed has arrived (step SA1). This time may be, for example, a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the last calculation of the second communication speed, or a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the display of content began on at least one of the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15.
[0100] If the second communication speed calculation unit 107 determines that the time for calculating the second communication speed has not arrived (step SA1: no), it performs the determination of step SA1 again.
[0101] On the other hand, when the second communication speed calculation unit 107 determines that the time for calculating the second communication speed has arrived (step SA1: yes), it calculates the second communication speed (step SA2).
[0102] Next, the first communication speed calculation unit 106 calculates the first communication speed (step SA3).
[0103] Next, the notification unit 110 determines whether the second communication speed calculated in step SA2 is greater than the first communication speed calculated in step SA3 (step SA4).
[0104] If it is determined that the second communication speed is not greater than the first communication speed, that is, the second communication speed is lower than the first communication speed (step SA4: no), the processor 100 performs the determination in step SA1 again.
[0105] If it is determined that the second communication speed is greater than the first communication speed (step SA4: Yes), the notification unit 110 sends a notification associated with the content through any one of the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15 (step SA5).
[0106] In this embodiment, in step SA5, as a notification associated with the content, the notification unit 110 notifies the user to display content suggesting the same content. For example, the notification unit 110 displays the content on any one of the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15. Figure 4 The notification screen G1 shown here suggests displaying the same content.
[0107] Figure 4 This is an example of a notification screen G1.
[0108] The notification screen G1 displays notification content information J1. Notification content information J1 represents the notification content of notification screen G1, suggesting the display of the same content. Figure 4 In the middle, the string "Should we display the same content so that everyone can share it?" is the notification content information J1.
[0109] The notification screen G1 displays a "Yes" button B1 and a "No" button B2. The "Yes" button B1 is a software button used to indicate acceptance of the suggestion shown in the notification content information J1. The "No" button B2 is a software button used to indicate rejection of the suggestion shown in the notification content information J1.
[0110] return Figure 3 The display control unit 109 determines whether the occupant P has accepted the notification content presented in step SA5 (step SA6). If the display control unit 109 operates the "Yes" button B1 on any of the notification screens G1 displayed on touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15, it makes an affirmative determination in step SA6. Conversely, if the display control unit 109 operates the "No" button B2 on any of the notification screens G1 displayed on touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15, it makes a negative determination in step SA6.
[0111] If the display control unit 109 makes a negative determination in step SA6 (step SA6: no), the processor 100 returns the process to step SA1.
[0112] On the other hand, if the determination in step SA6 is affirmative (step SA6: yes), the display control unit 109 assigns a flag to the content management information R2 held by the content management DB 127 (step SA7). Furthermore, the content management DB 127 that has been assigned a flag will not update the information even if the content displayed on the touch panel 26 changes or the second communication speed is calculated.
[0113] A sign is an example of "prescribed information".
[0114] Next, the occupant detection unit 108 detects the occupant P of vehicle 1 (step SA8).
[0115] Next, the display control unit 109 reads the passenger information R1 corresponding to the detected passenger P from the memory 120 for each passenger P detected in step SA8 (step SA9).
[0116] Step SA9 will be described in detail. For each occupant P detected in step SA8, the display control unit 109 obtains facial feature data from the occupant detection unit 108, and for each occupant P, reads occupant information R1 from the memory 120, which represents facial feature data with a consistency rate of more than a threshold with the obtained facial feature data.
[0117] Next, the display control unit 109 controls the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15 to display the same content based on the occupant information R1 read in step SA9 (step SA10).
[0118] Step SA10 is described in detail.
[0119] The display control unit 109 refers to the preference information contained in the read occupant information R1 and determines the most common pairs among the pairs of preference content types and preferences content categories. Next, the display control unit 109 refers to the content information received by the content output unit 105 and selects content corresponding to the determined pair. Then, the display control unit 109 sends an instruction to the content output unit 105, which is capable of outputting the selected content, to output the selected content via touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15. Thus, the display control unit 109 controls the display by showing the same content on touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15.
[0120] Figure 5 This is an example of a diagram showing the switching of content display.
[0121] Figure 5 The status JT1 shown indicates that touch panel 12 displays content distributed by the first app 121, touch panel 13 displays content distributed by the second app 122, touch panel 14 displays content distributed by the third app 123, and touch panel 15 displays content distributed by the fourth app 124. Additionally, Figure 5 The state JT1 shown indicates a state where the first communication speed is 40Mbps and the second communication speed is 51Mbps.
[0122] exist Figure 5 In state JT1, the second communication speed is greater than the first communication speed, therefore notification screen G1 is displayed on any of the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15. Furthermore, if the "Yes" button B1 is pressed on notification screen G1, then... Figure 5 The state JT1 shown becomes Figure 5 The state shown is JT2.
[0123] Figure 5 The state JT2 shown indicates that touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15 are displaying the same content distributed by the first app 121. Since touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15 are displaying the same content, the communication device 25 only needs to receive one type of content from the base station 3. Therefore, as... Figure 5 As shown in state JT2, the second communication speed decreases from 51 Mbps to 30 Mbps. Therefore, in Figure 5 In state JT2, the second communication speed is lower than the first communication speed, and the content is displayed appropriately without content stopping or other phenomena occurring in touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15.
[0124] return Figure 3 The flowchart illustrates that the first communication speed calculation unit 106 determines whether the time for calculating the first communication speed has arrived (step SA11). This time may be, for example, a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the last calculation of the first communication speed, or a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the same content was first displayed on touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15.
[0125] If the first communication speed calculation unit 106 determines that the time for calculating the first communication speed has not arrived (step SA11: no), it performs the determination in step SA11 again.
[0126] On the other hand, when the first communication speed calculation unit 106 determines that the time for calculating the first communication speed has arrived (step SA11: yes), it calculates the first communication speed (step SA12).
[0127] Next, the notification unit 110 determines, based on the first communication speed calculated in step SA12, whether to send a notification asking whether to restore the displayed content (step SA13).
[0128] Step SA13 is described in detail.
[0129] If the notification unit 110 determines that the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed indicated by the second communication speed information R2 which is marked, it makes a positive determination in step SA13.
[0130] To illustrate this in more detail with a specific example, if the notification unit 110 determines in step SA13 that the first communication speed is greater than or equal to the second communication speed represented by the second communication speed information of the content management information R2 which is marked by the flag, the notification unit 110 makes an affirmative determination.
[0131] Furthermore, to illustrate this in more detail with other specific examples, if the notification unit 110 determines in step SA13 that the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed indicated by the second communication speed information of the content management information R2 that has been assigned a flag for a specified period of time.
[0132] If the notification unit 110 determines that it will not ask whether to restore the displayed content (step SA13: no), the processor 100 returns the processing to step SA11.
[0133] On the other hand, if it is determined that a notification is being sent asking whether the displayed content should be restored (step SA13: yes), the notification unit 110 sends the notification (step SA14).
[0134] Step SA14 is described in detail.
[0135] In step SA14, the notification unit 110 displays the notification screen G2 via any one of the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15.
[0136] Figure 6 This is an example of a notification screen G2.
[0137] The notification screen G2 displays a prompt message J2. Prompt message J2 indicates the content of the notification displayed on screen G2, asking whether the content should be restored. Figure 6 In the J2 string, "Return the original content?", the query message is J2.
[0138] Notification screen G2 displays a "Yes" button B3 and a "No" button B4. The "Yes" button B3 is used to input a software button that restores the content. The "No" button B4 is used to input a software button that does not restore the content.
[0139] Return to Figure 3 The flowchart illustrates that the display control unit 109 determines whether to restore the displayed content (step SA15). When the "Yes" button B3 is pressed on any of the notification screens G2 displayed on touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15, the display control unit 109 makes an affirmative determination in step SA15. Conversely, if the "No" button B4 is pressed on any of the notification screens G2 displayed on touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15, the display control unit 109 makes a negative determination in step SA15.
[0140] If the display control unit 109 determines that the displayed content will not be restored (step SA15: No), the processor 100 terminates the process.
[0141] On the other hand, when the display control unit 109 determines that the displayed content should be restored (step SA15: Yes), it performs control to restore the content displayed on the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15 (step SA16).
[0142] Step SA16 is described in detail.
[0143] The display control unit 109 processes each content management information R2 as follows.
[0144] That is, the display control unit 109 sends an instruction to the content output unit 105 corresponding to the application shown in the application information to output the content shown in the content ID in the touch panel 26 shown in the touch panel ID.
[0145] Next, the display control unit 109 removes the flag from the content management information R2 (step SA17).
[0146] [2. Second Implementation]
[0147] Next, the second embodiment will be described.
[0148] In the description of the second embodiment, the differences from the first embodiment will be mainly explained.
[0149] In the first embodiment, there is a structure that asks whether to restore the displayed content after the same content has been displayed.
[0150] In the second embodiment, if the following first condition is met after the same content is displayed, the displayed content is restored without asking whether to restore the displayed content.
[0151] The first condition is that the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed indicated by the second communication speed information R2, which is marked with a flag, and the same content being displayed is in a specified state. Here, the specified state refers to the state at which the content output ends; if the content is an image or video, it refers to the state at which the image or video output ends; if the content is music, it refers to the state at which one piece of music has finished playing.
[0152] Figure 7 This is a flowchart illustrating the operation of the display control device 24.
[0153] exist Figure 7 In the middle, to and Figure 3 The same steps are labeled with the same reference numerals. Furthermore, in Figure 7 In the explanation, regarding the relationship with Figure 3 The detailed explanations of the same steps are omitted as appropriate.
[0154] Based on the first communication speed calculated in step SA12, the notification unit 110 determines whether the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed represented by the second communication speed information of the content management information R2 that has been given a flag (step SB1).
[0155] If the notification unit 110 determines that the first communication speed is not greater than the second communication speed, or in other words, the second communication speed is greater than the first communication speed (step SB1: no), the processor 100 returns the processing to step SA11.
[0156] On the other hand, if it is determined that the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed (step SB1: Yes), the notification unit 110 determines whether the first condition is met (step SB2). The notification unit 110 obtains the remaining time until the end of the content from the content output unit 105 that displays the same content through the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15. Furthermore, if the obtained remaining time is less than or equal to a predetermined time (e.g., 1 minute), the notification unit 110 determines in step SB2 that the content is predetermined, and determines in step SB2 that the obtained remaining time is greater than or equal to a predetermined time (e.g., 1 minute), the notification unit determines in step SB2 that the content is not predetermined.
[0157] If the notification unit 110 determines that the first condition is not met (step SB2: no), the processor 100 executes the processing after step SA14.
[0158] On the other hand, if the notification unit 110 determines that the first condition is met, the processor 100 skips steps SA14 and SA15 and executes the processing of step SA16.
[0159] [3. Third Implementation Method]
[0160] Next, the third embodiment will be described.
[0161] In the description of the third embodiment, the differences from the first embodiment are mainly explained.
[0162] In the description of the third embodiment, the same reference numerals are used for the same constituent elements as in the first embodiment, and detailed descriptions are omitted where appropriate.
[0163] Figure 8 This is a diagram showing the structure of the display control device 24 according to the third embodiment.
[0164] Compare Figure 8 and Figure 2 It can be seen that memory 120 stores control program 125A to replace control program 125.
[0165] Control program 125A is a program that enables processor 100 to also function as vehicle interior condition detection unit 111.
[0166] The in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 detects whether the condition inside the vehicle 1 is a specified condition. Here, a specified condition refers to a condition where the occupant P of the vehicle 1 is not watching the content, or a condition where the occupant P of the vehicle 1 is not attracted by the output content, etc.
[0167] The in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 detects the state of each occupant P detected by the occupant detection unit 108 at a predetermined period. In this embodiment, the in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 detects whether the state of each occupant P is not looking at the touch panel and whether the occupant P is not attentively watching the content. The in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 detects the state of the occupant P's gaze or eyes at a predetermined period using techniques such as pattern matching, based on images captured by cameras 21, 22, and 23. Furthermore, the in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 detects that the occupant P is not looking at the touch panel 13 if the occupant P's gaze is not directed towards the touch panel 13 for a predetermined period or more, or if the occupant P's eyes are closed for a predetermined period or more. The in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 detects that the occupant P is not attentively watching the content if the occupant P's gaze deviates from the direction of the touch panel 13 for a predetermined period of time.
[0168] In addition, the orientation of touch panels 12 and 13 is determined by the image captured by camera 21, so the in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 can detect whether the direction of the line of sight of the occupant P in the driver's seat 10A and the front passenger seat 10B is consistent with the orientation of touch panels 12 and 13.
[0169] Furthermore, since the direction of the touch panel 14 is determined by the image captured by the camera 22, the in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 can detect whether the direction of the gaze of the occupant P in the right rear seat 10C is consistent with the direction of the touch panel 14.
[0170] Furthermore, based on the image captured by camera 23, the orientation of touch panel 15 is determined, so the in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 can detect whether the direction of the gaze of occupant P in the left rear seat 10D is consistent with the orientation of touch panel 15.
[0171] If at least half of the occupants P detected by the occupant detection unit 108 are found to be either not looking at the touch panel or not attentively looking at the content, the in-vehicle condition detection unit 111 detects that the condition of the vehicle 1 is the prescribed condition.
[0172] Next, the operation of the display control device 24 in the third embodiment will be explained.
[0173] In the first embodiment, after displaying the same content, a notification is sent asking whether the displayed content should be restored.
[0174] In the third embodiment, after the same content is displayed, if the following second condition is met, the displayed content will be restored without asking whether to restore the displayed content.
[0175] The second condition is that the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed indicated by the second communication speed information of the content management information R2, which is marked, and the in-vehicle conditions are the specified conditions.
[0176] Figure 9 This is a flowchart illustrating the operation of the display control device 24.
[0177] exist Figure 9 In the middle, to and Figure 3 The same steps are labeled with the same reference numerals. Furthermore, in Figure 9 In the explanation, regarding the relationship with Figure 3 The detailed explanations of the same steps are omitted as appropriate.
[0178] Based on the first communication speed calculated in step SA12, the notification unit 110 determines whether the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed represented by the second communication speed information of the content management information R2 that has been given a flag (step SC1).
[0179] If the notification unit 110 determines that the first communication speed is not greater than the second communication speed, or in other words, the second communication speed is greater than the first communication speed (step SC1: No), the processor 100 returns the processing to step SA11.
[0180] On the other hand, if it is determined that the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed (step SC1: Yes), the notification unit 110 determines whether the second condition is met (step SC2). The notification unit 110 obtains the detection result from the vehicle interior condition detection unit 111. If the obtained detection result indicates the specified condition, a positive determination is made in step SC2; if the obtained detection result does not indicate the specified condition, a negative determination is made in step SC2.
[0181] If the notification unit 110 determines that the second condition is not met (step SC2: No), the processor 100 executes the processing after step SA14.
[0182] On the other hand, if the notification unit 110 determines that the second condition is met (step SC2: yes), the processor 100 skips steps SA14 and SA15 and executes the processing of step SA16.
[0183] [4. Fourth Implementation Method]
[0184] Next, the fourth embodiment will be described.
[0185] In the description of the fourth embodiment, the differences from the embodiments described above will be mainly explained.
[0186] In the above implementation, the following structure is adopted: when the second communication speed is greater than the first communication speed, a suggestion to display the same content is implemented, and when the occupant P accepts the suggestion, the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15 display the same content.
[0187] In the fourth embodiment, the following structure is adopted: when the second communication speed is greater than the first communication speed, a suggestion to control the image quality of the content is implemented, and if the occupant P accepts the suggestion, the image quality of the content displayed on at least any one of the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15 is controlled.
[0188] When the second communication speed exceeds the first communication speed, the notification unit 110 notifies the content regarding the control of image quality of the suggested content. More specifically, the notification unit 110 notifies the content regarding the control of image quality of the suggested content by displaying a notification screen such as notification screen G1 or notification screen G2 on any one of the touch panels 12, 13, 14, and 15.
[0189] When the occupant P receives a notification from the notification unit 110, the display control unit 109 controls the image quality of the content in a manner that makes the second communication speed lower than the first communication speed, and determines the number of touch panels 26 for controlling the image quality in a manner that minimizes the number of touch panels 26 for controlling the image quality.
[0190] For example, the display control unit 109 instructs the content output unit 105, which outputs content displayed on a certain touch panel 26, to receive content with a lower image quality than the current image quality, and instructs the first communication speed calculation unit 106 and the second communication speed calculation unit 107 to calculate the communication speed. If the calculated second communication speed is lower than the calculated first communication speed, the display control unit 109 ends the image quality control; if the calculated second communication speed is higher than the calculated first communication speed, it adds another touch panel 26 to control the image quality, instructs the receiving of lower-quality content and the calculation of communication speed, and repeats the above process.
[0191] [5. Other Implementation Methods]
[0192] The above-described implementation method is merely one approach and can be arbitrarily modified and applied.
[0193] In the above embodiment, a display control device 24 installed in vehicle 1 is exemplified as a "display control device". However, the "display control device" is not limited to a device installed in vehicle 1. The "display control device" can also be a terminal device such as a smartphone or tablet. In this case, the "display control device" receives content from a router and displays the content on multiple other terminal devices connected in communication. In this case, the router is equivalent to the "external device". Alternatively, the "display control device" can also be a router installed in a facility such as a house. In this case, the router displays the content received from the external device through a display with which it has a communication connection. Furthermore, in this other embodiment, the "display control device" has a structure that includes a "communication device".
[0194] In the above-described embodiment, the notification unit 110 is structured to make various notifications through a display, but the notification unit 110 may also make the above-described notifications through sound output.
[0195] In the above embodiment, the occupant P inputs notifications from the notification unit 110 via touch operation. In other embodiments, a microphone may be provided in the vehicle 1, allowing the occupant P to input various notifications from the notification unit 110 via sound.
[0196] In the above embodiment, the notification unit 110 is configured to send notifications through any one of the touch panels 26, but the notification unit 110 may also send notifications through multiple touch panels 26.
[0197] In the above embodiment, the same content is displayed on all touch panels 26. In other embodiments, the same content may be displayed on at least two or more touch panels 26.
[0198] In the above implementation, the structure is to attach a flag to the content management information R2, but the "specified information" attached to the content management information R2 is not limited to the flag.
[0199] In the above embodiment, when the second communication speed exceeds the first communication speed, the notification unit 110 executes a notification suggesting the display of the same content as a content-related notification. However, the content-related notification executed by the notification unit 110 is not limited to the suggested content notification; for example, it could be a suggestion on whether the content can be displayed appropriately, or a suggestion on whether to optimize the communication speed.
[0200] In the above embodiment, the case of vehicle 1, which carries 4 people, is illustrated. However, the number of people that vehicle 1 can carry is not limited to 4.
[0201] In the above embodiments, a four-wheeled vehicle 1 is illustrated, but the number of wheels of vehicle 1 is not limited to four.
[0202] In the above embodiments, a touch panel 26 is exemplified as a "display unit", but the "display unit" is not limited to a display with touch operation function, and may also be a display that does not have touch operation function but can be operated by operation keys or the like.
[0203] In the above embodiment, the display control device 24 does not have a "display unit" structure, but the display control device 24 may also have a "display unit" structure.
[0204] In the above-described embodiment, the structure of occupant P is detected from the images captured by cameras 21, 22, and 23. In other embodiments, the occupant detection unit 108 may also detect occupant P using methods other than the images captured by cameras 21, 22, and 23. For example, if the display control device 24 inputs "Who is in the vehicle?" while the passenger is in the vehicle, the occupant detection unit 108 may also detect occupant P based on this input. Furthermore, in other embodiments, if a microphone for collecting the sound of occupant P is installed in vehicle 1, the occupant detection unit 108 may also detect occupant P based on the quantity and type of sound collected by the microphone.
[0205] In the above embodiment, the display control device 24 has four applications for utilizing the content installed. In other embodiments, the number of applications installed on the display control device 24 may be three or fewer, or five or more.
[0206] The processor 100 can consist of multiple processors or a single processor. The processor 100 can also be hardware programmed to implement the aforementioned functionalities. In this case, these processors may be, for example, ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) or FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays).
[0207] in addition, Figure 2 as well as Figure 8 The structure of each part of the display control device 24 shown, Figure 1 The structure of each part of vehicle 1 shown is an example, and the specific installation method is not particularly limited. That is, it is not necessarily necessary to install hardware corresponding to each part separately; of course, it is also possible to configure the vehicle to implement the functions of each part by executing a program through a processor. In addition, in the above-described embodiment, a part of the function implemented by software can be implemented as hardware, or a part of the function implemented by hardware can be implemented by software.
[0208] in addition, Figure 3 , Figure 7 as well as Figure 9 The steps shown are divided according to the main processing content, and the present invention is not limited to the method or name of the division of processing units. Depending on the processing content, it may be divided into more step units. Alternatively, a single step unit may contain more processes. Furthermore, the order of these steps may be appropriately replaced without affecting the spirit of the invention.
[0209] Furthermore, when the control method of the display control device 24 described above is implemented using the processor 100, the program executed by the processor 100 can also be configured as a recording medium or a transmission medium for transmitting the program. That is, the control program 125 can also be implemented with the control program 125 recorded on a removable information recording medium. Examples of information recording media include magnetic recording media such as hard disks, optical recording media such as CDs, USB (Universal Serial Bus) memory, SSD (Solid State Drive) and other semiconductor storage devices, but other recording media can also be used.
[0210] [6. Structure supported by the above embodiments]
[0211] The above implementation supports the following structures.
[0212] (Structure 1)
[0213] A display control device displays content received from an external device by a communication device via a plurality of display units. The display control device includes a notification unit that sends a notification associated with the content displayed by the display units based on a first communication speed between the communication device and the external device and a second communication speed between the communication device and the external device required for displaying the content.
[0214] According to the display control device of structure 1, it is possible to make notifications related to the content based on the communication status between the external device and the communication device, so that the user of the content can act in a way that displays the content appropriately based on the communication status related to the content.
[0215] (Structure 2)
[0216] According to the display control device of structure 1, the display control device includes a display control unit that controls the content displayed by a plurality of display units. The notification content of the notification unit is a suggestion to display the same content. When the user of the display unit accepts the notification content of the notification unit, the display control unit controls the display to display the same content by at least two of the plurality of display units.
[0217] According to the display control device of structure 2, by controlling the display of the same content on at least two or more display units, the amount of content received by the communication device can be reduced. Therefore, the amount of communication between the external device and the communication device can be reduced, phenomena such as failure to display content can be suppressed, and content can be displayed appropriately.
[0218] (Structure 3)
[0219] According to the display control device of structure 2, the display control device is disposed in a vehicle and includes: an occupant detection unit that detects occupants of the vehicle; and a storage unit that stores occupant information related to the occupants of the vehicle. When the user of the display unit receives a notification from the notification unit, the display control unit retrieves the occupant information corresponding to the occupants of the vehicle detected by the occupant detection unit from the storage unit. The display control unit controls the display based on the retrieved occupant information so that at least two or more of the plurality of display units display the same content.
[0220] According to the display control device of structure 3, it is possible to display content based on occupant information corresponding to the occupants of the vehicle, thus increasing the possibility of displaying content suitable for the occupants.
[0221] (Structure 4)
[0222] According to the display control device of structure 1, the display control device includes a display control unit that controls the content displayed on a plurality of display units, the notification content of the notification unit is content that suggests the control of the image quality of the content, and when the user of the display unit accepts the suggestion shown in the notification content of the notification unit, the display control unit controls the image quality of the content in such a way that the second communication speed is less than the first communication speed, and determines the display units that control the image quality of the content in such a way that the number of display units controlling the image quality of the content is as small as possible.
[0223] According to the display control device of structure 4, the amount of communication between the external device and the communication device can be reduced, and the amount of content controlling the image quality can be minimized. Therefore, the content can be displayed appropriately while minimizing the number of users who feel uncomfortable with the content display.
[0224] (Structure 5)
[0225] According to the display control device of structure 2 or structure 3, the display control device includes a storage unit that stores identification information of the content displayed on the display unit before the notification from the notification unit and a second communication speed information representing the second communication speed. When the user of the display unit accepts the suggestion shown in the notification content of the notification unit, the display control unit assigns predetermined information to the second communication speed information stored in the storage unit. After displaying the same content, if the first communication speed becomes greater than the second communication speed represented by the second communication speed information assigned the predetermined information, the notification unit queries whether to restore the displayed content to the notification before displaying the same content.
[0226] According to the display control device of structure 5, when the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed, an inquiry is made as to whether to restore the displayed content. Therefore, after displaying the same content, the user can restore the desired content at an appropriate time.
[0227] (Structure 6)
[0228] According to the display control device of structure 5, after displaying the same content, if the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed represented by the second communication speed information given the predetermined information, and at least two or more of the display units are displaying the same content, the notification unit does not ask whether to restore the displayed content to the state before displaying the same content, and the display control unit causes the display unit displaying the same content to display the content represented by the identification information given the predetermined information.
[0229] According to the display control device of structure 6, when the same content being displayed is in a predetermined state, it can automatically revert to the content displayed before the same content was displayed. Therefore, it is possible to control the display so that the content expected by the user can be displayed at an appropriate time without requiring the user's effort.
[0230] (Structure 7)
[0231] According to the display control device of structure 5, wherein the display control device is disposed in a vehicle and includes an in-vehicle condition detection unit, the in-vehicle condition detection unit detects the in-vehicle condition of the vehicle. After displaying the same content, if the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed represented by the second communication speed information given the predetermined information and the in-vehicle condition detected by the in-vehicle condition detection unit is the predetermined condition, the notification unit does not ask whether to restore the displayed content to the notification before displaying the same content, and the display control unit causes the display unit displaying the same content to display the content represented by the identification information given the predetermined information.
[0232] According to the display control device of structure 7, when the conditions inside the vehicle are as specified, it can automatically restore the content that was previously displayed with the same content. Therefore, it is possible to control the display so that the content expected by the user can be displayed at the appropriate time without requiring the user's effort.
[0233] (Structure 8)
[0234] According to the display control device of structure 5, if, after displaying the same content, the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed represented by the second communication speed information given the specified information for a continuous specified period, the notification unit queries whether to restore the displayed content to the state before displaying the same content.
[0235] According to the display control device of structure 8, it is possible to suppress the situation where a notification is made whenever the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed, thereby suppressing the user's annoyance with the notification.
[0236] (Structure 9)
[0237] According to the display control device of structure 5, after displaying the same content, if the first communication speed is greater than a predetermined value than the second communication speed represented by the second communication speed information to which the predetermined information is given, the notification unit queries whether to restore the displayed content to the state before displaying the same content.
[0238] According to the display control device of structure 9, it is possible to suppress notifications whenever the first communication speed is greater than the second communication speed, thus suppressing user annoyance with notifications.
[0239] (Structure 10)
[0240] A control method for a display control device, wherein the display control device displays content received from an external device by a communication device through a plurality of display units, wherein a notification associated with the content displayed by the display units is made based on a first communication speed between the communication device and the external device and a second communication speed between the communication device and the external device required for the display of the content.
[0241] According to the control method of the display control device of structure 10, it achieves the same effect as the display control device of structure 1.
[0242] (Structure 11)
[0243] A recording medium having a program recorded thereon that enables a processor of a display control device to function as a notification unit, the display control device displaying content received from an external device by a communication device via a plurality of display units, the notification unit making notifications associated with the content displayed by the display units based on a first communication speed between the communication device and the external device and a second communication speed between the communication device and the external device required for the display of the content.
[0244] According to the program of structure 11, it achieves the same effect as the display control device of structure 1.
